I am suffering horribly with COVID-19 at home alone. I’m 63, disabled and feeling very isolated being so sick. I can only rest when I put on Home Free on UA-cam. Thank you.
Ami, how are you doing? Sending you strength from MN (seriously, in he Twin Cities it's-18 and that's not the "feels like" temp LOL!!!) Can anyone check on you? Even on the phone? Keep checking in on here so we new friends know you are ok!!!
Sitting here praying for you right now. I’m absolutely sorry you have to go through that. If you would like someone to talk to I’m here. I know that’s odd but I mean it. No one should have to go through this alone.
At 68 years old , I know I’m closer to the end of my days than the beginning. If I’ve learned one thing in all my years , it’s that God is real. Through the good times and the bad, I kept the faith. I lost my daughter to a fatal heart attack, in 2003 at the age of 35, it was the heartbreak of my life. Through grace I survived , to come out the other side of the hurt and pain with a renewed faith in God. I praise him and proclaim how great thou art. For greater is he that is in me , than he that is in the world. Bless His Holy name.
The last hymn I sang with my mother before she died. She was suffering from senile dementia but she knew every word. She’s singing to our beloved Father God in Heaven now.
I just wonder if Home Free truly understands how important they are to so many of us. It's so easy to slip into depression when you're alone. They and their music literally feel like the hands of 5 friends reaching out to give us something to hang on to so as not to slip into the dark places.
(evie) Linda, Hold On! Don’t give up! JESUS loves us & He is coming soon! I pray you listen to this & search for other great Christian music to fill your heart with joy! Have you heard Rosemary Siemens hymns? So beautiful! ♥️🙏🏻
You broke through a depression that was slowly taking my life. My grief over loss of my hubby of 52 years halted my world for two years. I what I needed to end my despair. In hand. You LITERALLY saved my life and soul. Your beautiful voices and souls broke thru and saved me. God uses you thru your talent and hard work! Thank you!
You're finding out that comfort will come at the moment it produces living fruit. I know because I still grieve my husband's departure a few years ago. I've learned just how comforting the Precious Hoy Spirit is. Remember Jesus called him The Comforter. His serene calm aura and spirit settles deep within a grieving spirit and soothes the deep aches.
Ever since I found out that my 43year old son with two young children died in a car accident. This has been stuck in my head... I sang it at his funeral and the entire congregation chimed in... Then military color guard stepped up to play taps... during the playing, the outside grew dark and it began to POUR DOWN RAIN... off in the distance came rolling thunder and lightning... it got closer and closer until it was directly over the church! Another lightning strike, and all the lights went out... the color guard had to fold his flag in the dark... Just as they finished, the lights came back on!! I felt my son close to me... "this is my beloved son... with whom I am well pleased" Then, at the burial, a flock of birds flew in and "sang sweetly in the trees... " I am just his dad, God is his father... You did good son, we are both well pleased... We will miss you. but we know where you are.
I am so very sorry for your great loss. I know that you must still be grieving. However, to know the promise that God made to us, makes the pain so much easier to bear. You Will see your son again, when God says the time has come. I am thankful for your son's service to our country. May God continue to comfort you and your family. God bless.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I buried my son too. I'm thrilled for the signs the Lord gave you that your son is with Him! Mine is too, and so, like you, while we grieve, we do not grieve as those with no hope.
I have recently been diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer and whenever I find myself not coping with this, I put on my headphones and watch this video clip. Thank you from the bottom of my heart xo
Not a Christian specifically but you can’t help but to believe in God when you listen to songs like this. When you take the art and embrace it and let yourself be carried in the emotions of the lyrics, tone, and melody. I am not a great communicator, I don’t have an extensive vocabulary, I cannot craft an enthralling speech, and thus I am not an expert of persuasion. But the way I see it, the most compelling argument in favor of the existence of a creator, and a benevolent one at that, is simply the recognition of all of the beauty around us, and especially the beauty we are able to impart on others, this video being a shining example. We are capable of so much love, joy, genius and soul in this life, that it simply cannot be discarded when that life has ended.
The mountain views to. How can you not know it was God's hand that created this beauty. So glad I have come to know my father. He is every breath we take. You feel him everywhere. But most importantly for these trying times you can see what he's doing for us now. So blessed
sacred tones and harmonies, voices lifted in praise of God, are healing...doesn't matter if you know the language, its the tones, the harmonies, the beauty.. it reaches every soul...
Oh man, Adam. You sell yourself short. This was beautifully written, and you were able to articulate your feelings, which many can not do. If I may make an assumption, it seems like you want to believe in a creator. What do you think is holding you back?
Although you claim that you don’t have extensive vocabulary, I disagree, because you do use more descriptive vocabulary. And I must agree with you that they make us believe in our creator and lord.
Brother you may think that you are not a great communicator but with your comment I beg to differ! You have described this song in vivid detail! Thank you so much you don't have to be a Christian to see and appreciate the beauty all around you. I am not a Christian, I am a CHRIST follower and really appreciate and admire your comment! Since my SAVIOR took at Vail off of my eyes my life has changed and I have had more joy in my life than ever before! My life has purpose and I am extremely humbled and much more compassionate towards others than ever before! I am sorry I didn't mean to ramble on but thank you !
SomnusPhobos lol with an alias of "Nightmare" literally, which you generally don't have control over, wouldn't faith in someone who created everything help?
SomnusPhobos yes very very touching. I'm still tearing up. Beautiful. Whenever I'm questioning my religion, I look at videos like this and think about phenomenal stories like this video seams to show.
I do not know if you will ever see this coment, but I wanted ya to know my thoughts. I have lived seven decades and have heard the greatest choirs, the greatest groups and bands as well as most of the best singers in my time on this earth. I have one wish when God calls me home and that is the last thing I want to hear is your rendition of How Great Thou Art. It is the most beautiful music and my heart fills with joy every time I listen to it. I am glad I lived in the time of Home Free. Each of you have a unique voice but together you bring joy, compassion and feeling to all your music. God bless you and your family. From the great state of Texas I bid you goodbye.
I have to say that I went through a medical crisis this past December while I was home alone. I figured I was at the end and God gave me the song 'How Great Thou Art' to sing in my head. But I told Him that I wanted to be listening to it while I joined Him. Since I didn't have strength, I asked Him to find me a version that was sincere so that I could go home listening to true worship. In two clicks, He brought me to this version. Then I lay there in tears, basking in His presence and in your music until warmth & breath gradually seeped back into my body and I lived, by the grace of God. 💗✝️ Thank you for being part of that blessing to me during that time. God used you to bring glory to Himself and to bring wholehearted worship as He gave me peace and walked through the valley with me. 💝🙏
My Grandpa sang this song during Christmas. He has since passed away. This song helps me feel like he is still here beside me. I love you Grandpa Phil. Till we meet again! 😢💔
My wife passed in Feb 2023. She sang in churches in Michigan, Indiana, and N. Carolina until health problems stopped her. I chose to provide the music during her celebration of life. Her daughter and son had other parts in the celebration. A few weeks after she passed, I discovered this group. During the first song I listened to, I thought I had found the group/songs I wanted. During the second song, I knew this group was the one. No one can say, but I believe she directed me to this group. You guys are great.
I'm so sorry for your loss, my spouse of 20 years left this world in August of2023, so I understand the pain and grief, she and I listened to home free a lot! Was/are you guys perhaps apastolic pentacostal? Just curious as to the feeling of a song played at celebration of life not quite viewed the same way in baptist churches usaully so just curious. Again my condolences and I have found the description that "Grief is love with no where to go and no way to get there, that's why it's so painful" to be a true statement.... Peace love light and Blessings to you friend!
In these dark and troubling times this song reminds me of how great our Lord God truly is, and no matter how dark things may seem now they will get better. Thank you.
Yeah, it has a great message. The only problem; this song was sung by the congregation at my grandpa's funeral, so that's the first thing that it makes me think of. I was really close with both grandparents on that side of my family, and I also sang the Lord's Prayer at both of their funerals as a trio with a couple of friends from my home church. So now, singing the Lord's Prayer (which happens every now and then, as I sing in the church choir) always makes me want to cry, for obvious reasons.
Be you protestant, catholic or ortodox, this hymn is simply beautiful! A homage to gods creation, and how beautiful this world is! Home Free did this ole hymn proud! Bless you!
I live an hour away from my parent’s home on 20 acres. The day my dad died at only 64, I drove to my parent’s home. And though I knew dad was gone, I couldn’t help but wander around the land “looking” for him. As I approached one of his favorite places, “It is well with my soul” began playing in my head louder and louder. I smiled, and knew that dad was ok with the turn of events. I’d love to hear y’all sing that one in its entirety. Thank you for the beautiful music that brightens my days. 🙏 ❤️ ✌🏼
My Great Grandfather passed away moments after singing this as loud as you could after he finished he said "Lord I'm ready!" and he left this world, the most beautiful thing you have every seen. He sung this song all the time, sang it to the roof!! I love this song, and will always cherish it.
I'm getting on...it's been 70 years since I first heard this hymn. I always liked the music, on the organ, and the harmony of the choir. But the words went in one ear and out the other. Then, from the age of 12, I stopped attending church services. I spent a lot of time in forests, mountains, and canyons, and looking into the night sky -- I knew I was in the greatest cathedral in the universe. Church and hymns were almost forgotten things. Then, a few days ago, wandering around the net, after listening to Hallelujah by Pentatonix, Into the West (and a couple other songs from the Ring movies) done by Peter Hollens, UA-cam put this piece by Home Free into my "string". I almost skipped it. But I didn't. I listened to it. I listened to it at least six times, one after another. And the words came home to me. I haven't felt so near God since I was a child. Listening to their beautiful rendition of How Great Thou Art, and gazing at that perfect scene, the simple church in the Alps, I was at peace. They did it perfectly. They nailed it. Since then, I've listened to a few of their other songs, but I keep coming back to this one. It is simply glorious. Thank you, Home Free.
As a kid I loved this song, sang it to God when alone and riding my motorcycles. Now at 75 it is more and more beautiful to me. This group Home Free does such a great job, makes me tear up.
I lost both my mother and an aunt to complications from Alzheimer’s. One thing I noticed was that at times of religious significance, they became more animated, lucid and cleaner emotions. I think that as the mind fails, the vail between the two worlds thin and their spirit peeks through.
I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to this song with Home Free, but I think it’s the most beautiful rendition of the song ever! Adam, you have the voice of an Angle!
My mom wanted this song played at her memorial service. She passed away in 2018. I had never heard of Home Free (sorry!). I just looked up the song on UA-cam and began listening to different artists sing it. I came across this version with Home Free and knew it was perfect for my mom! Not a dry eye in place when we ended the service with this song! Thank you and thank God for your beautiful voices and talent!
We buried my 96 year old Father last week. He was an amazing man, a WWII vet and this was his favorite song. As the song went into the chorus of, “It Is Well With My Soul,” it was at that moment that I was able to truly let go of my Dad. I knew he was already with Jesus when he took his last breath but I wanted to hold onto him a little longer. Thank you did the blessing of using your voices to praise HIM through your music.
This is amazing my friends!! I play for my mom who's in memory care frequently and she just closes her eyes and cries. She doesn't know Jesus...yet..but this song is anointed and I'm certain God speaks to her heart through it!! Blessings to each and every one of you !❤ 🙏
This was my mom’s favorite hymn. Your voices open a well of emotions I can’t explain. Thank each one of you for sharing your gift with the world. Blessings to you all ❤
When I hear you fella's sing this song, I can't help but yearn to go home to my Lord and Savior, and be with my sweet Jesus forever. Amen! How Great Thou Art, indeed.
Best A Capella version of "How Great Thou Art" I have ever heard , matter of fact it is the best version I have ever heard period. Make you want to sing along . Thanks Home Free .
KENNY BLAKE..... God is always there. Even in extremely hard times. Reach out to Him and He will welcone you with open arms. Life won't be easy, but He will be with you.
Kenny Blake, God is an amazing God who is always there for you. He is a Father who never tires of hearing our silliest complaints and never fails to give us the purest joy that only he can give. He is also our closest friend to whom we can tell our every fear without having to ask Him to keep it a secret. He is a wonderful brother who is there to have our back at every time that we need Him. Just trust Him and let Him take control of every situation that you may face and you will come triumphant through the storm that is our life. He will protect you, guide you and love you. Don't worry. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 28:20, "Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Kenny, Please don't ever end your precioys life . I've been thru dark days also,, but praying to The Holy SPIRIT and HIS Embodiment in JESUS, will steer U thru the storm. Loving Blessings.
Dear Home Free The Lord led me to your channel this morning. You see, my 33 year old daughter passed on May 28th 2020. She left her parents, sister and 3 daughters. Ages 13 7 and 3. I am trying to tell the 3 year old that mommy died. 😭😭 This track just gave me the strength to do so. I may just end up playing this song at her ceremony. God bless all of you for the gift you share to inspire, lift and heal others. I will be buying your album for sure.
2:59 My aunt died in my arms over 20 years ago. This song was her favorite and was performed at her funeral. I swore I would never listen to it again. It simply hurt too much. I saw your version and decided to try to listen to it again. Your rendition brought me peace and allowed me to enjoy it once more. Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with us.
I played this for my 41 year old daughter as she passed away 10-1-24. It was also the first song played at her funeral mass. It brings me such peace when I hear you sing these words. I know she is at peace.
Oh, Jack! You are only 14 a whole lifetime in front of you! Yes, these songs are insperational, people love you! I love you! Can you sing, find a channel on the radio and sing! Be happy! I love you!
This was my Grandmother’s favorite hymn. It always brought a tear to her eye...a woman with a tremendous sense of humility and humor. So I knew early on, for some reason it was very important. I know she would love this expression. So well done men. Thank you.
This was my Grandmother’s favorite too.♥️ When I close my eyes I can still hear her voice singing each verse with such reverence, just like she did when I was a little girl standing next to her in church. It’s been 30 years since she passed and I still miss her more than I thought possible.
@@mamacatselliot That is precious and I’m so sorry for your loss.♥️ I can’t begin to imagine how difficult it must have been for him to make it through the song in its entirety without breaking down...I imagine God must have lovingly extended some extra special grace to him for that. Thanks for sharing and God bless you and your dad.🙏🏻♥️♥️
My mother passed away 3 weeks ago and this was one of her favorite hymns. She never got to see this video, but I'm sure she would have loved this version! You guys did an amazing job! Thanks for the great music!
My mom passed away a year ago. She loved to sing this song! She had an awesome voice. These guys did an awesome job! Brings tears to my eyes hearing this song.
My younger brother sent me this video a week or so before he passed. I believe it was his way to tell me that he truly believed, that he had found the way Home. R.I.P. dear brother. 💜❤
You guys should do a full gospel cd. Your voices blend so perfectly and you sing from your hearts, a gospel album would be amazing. Adam R. has a beautiful voice and should be featured in a vocal solo. There are so many of the old hymns and you guys would be incredible (more than you already are)
I just discovered you guys doing Gospel. First heard Ring of Fire. You are phenomenal!!! I’m going to get a room CD player just so I can play your CD’s.
My Grandpa used to play this on guitar, and we would sing it together. At his funeral, I played & sang it for him. This song always makes me tear up, but this is the most beautiful version I've ever heard.
Even if its one year since you have wrote this comment i want to say how I appreciate it that you sang it at his funeral. My grandma died a few days ago and her funeral is on friday and i can't imagine to sing a song like this to her. Not because i dont love her but i would just break out in tears while singing.🙏✌🏼
This was my Grandads favourite song, he was a reverend, forty years later my tears still flow, I know your Grandpa would’ve have been smiling and proud of you,
It reminds me of going to church every Sunday and Holy Day with my grandmother who raised me. I’ve struggled to find faith my entire life but hearing voices raised in praise of Him brings me to tears and fills my heart with a feeling that seems like it could only come through the will and love of God Himself. I came here because I tried to sing this for my six month old daughter but I didn’t have the range. So glad I found this it reminded me that I should bring my daughter to church so she may one day find comfort and wonder through God.
O Lord, my God when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hands have made I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed then sings my soul, my saviour God, to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art When through the woods, and forest glades i wander, and hear birds sing swetly in the trees when i look down, fron lofty mountain grandeur and see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze then sings my soul, my saviour God, to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art, then sings my soul, my saviour God, to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art it is well it is well with my soul with my soul it is well it is well with my soul when Christ shall come with shout of acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart then i shall bow with humble adoration, and then priclaim, ! My God, how great thou art! then sings my soul, my saviour God, to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art Then sings my soul, my saviour God, to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art
Home Free...I just ran across your music...7/18/22..What have I missed in MY LIFE...It is the music and jo y you've just brought to me...I live in South Royalton VT...on a quiet piece of land Married for 45 years and have 4 children and 9 grand children.. and you've brought a new meaning of listening to music...Stay together forever...friends mean so much in your life... Starting to listen to all you've recorded... from a new admirer of 71 year old northern born southerner...Thanks and God Bless Drew A Brodeur
"How Great Thou Art" and "Blessed Assurance" were my late grandfathers two favorite hymns. He was a man of God and a faithful pastor to his flock for most of his living days. His death was slow in coming, but inevitable, as we watched him fade from Parkinson's complications. His slow passing softened the blow, and came more as a relief that he was free of the body that had so long constrained his sharp mind and compassionate spirit. And so I was able to attend his funeral with dry eyes, able to be the stoic shoulder for my mourning mother, with a steady hand and a comforted soul. Serving as one of his pallbearers is still the highest honor I've ever been blessed with. However, as the years pass, and his death falls further into the past, I find it harder and harder to keep my composure when hearing this hymn. Even now, as I type, I do so only through a blur of tears. This hymn, this prayer of acclamation and testimony both, encapsulates so much of my grandfather's life that I believe the tears that went unshed at his funeral are wrung from me each time I hear it sung. And hear it I must, because I cannot muster the composure to sing it, though I want to with all my heart. So thank you, Home Free, for being my voice, and for giving this dear hymn the full measure of the beautiful gift of song you've all been blessed with. May God bless and prosper you all as He is glorified through you, and may you be as much a blessing to others as you have been to me.
A beautiful song performed with incredibly accurate harmonies and vocals. But Tim Foust's velvety bass hits the soul the most. Guys, many years to come!
I'm a nurse who has had to deal with a lot of death both professionally and personally in recent years. Whenever I am having an especially rough time emotionally I can listen to this song and find peace, often tears as well, but peace is the end result. Thank you for being able to return that peace to me so that I am able to help the next family!
All of the members of Home Free are exceptionally talented. However, it never fails to astonish me how effortless Austin makes those high notes look. I know it takes a lot of work and a lot of practice. but he is an incredible talent.
One of my most favorite Gospel songs. When Guy Penrod sings this song, my hair stands on it's end with tears flowing down my cheeks. Listening to Home Free singing this song, my hair is standing on it's end and I'm bawling! Thank you, Home Free. THANK YOU, JESUS!
I also want to have How Great Thou Art sung at my funeral, and I wish it could be this beautiful rendition by Home Free, but they left out the 3rd (and most important) verse. :( At my funeral, all 4 verses must be sung. I wish Home Free would re-record it with that verse included.
My husband and I absolutely love that you actually sang this is the Alps. It’s so majestic and that song and your voices are so amazing, thank you for sharing with the world!💜💜💜
Well, I’m not a very religious person but this just made me cry. It’s the best version of this beautiful hymn I’ve ever heard. I made me cry and I don’t know why! Beautiful beyond words. You should be very proud of yourselves. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️🇬🇧
GENTLEMAN of Home Free , I truly love this song and requested it for my mother's funeral. Thank you for sharing your music. My mother passed away 3/06/2024. God bless you all, in what you do in the future.
I have many demons from my military time and have struggled on off with alcohol. Listening to you guys gives me a little escape. Ispent years singing in retirement homes, but couldn't compet with you guys. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
This is probably my favourite Acapella video of all time. Mountains always speak to me of how great God is and the vocal dynamic range is just magical. Simply fantastic! Well done Home Free.
I went to a good friend's mother's funeral service at a church last summer. The minister had not made any arrangements for music. When he was finished with his part, the minister nodded to someone who had an ipad in her hands. Next thing I knew, Home Free was singing How Great Thou Art. I asked him later how he found HF or if he usually followed you. He said he just searched for her favorite hymn and you guys were first up. Woohoo!!
I absolutely love this. It’s such a beautiful song and a wonderful cover of it. I have been in a really depressed state lately and have been trying to keep my head above water so to speak, but it gets difficult at times. I’ve dealt with addiction for 7 years but I am in recovery now and have been sober for a little over 2 years. It’s still hard to deal with but with God’s mercy, unconditional love, and grace I have been able to keep at it. I’ve attempted suicide quite a few times in the past but I thank God every day that it didn’t happen. It just wasn’t my time and I’m slowly figuring that out. Times are tough right now and the world seems to be in shambles but God will prevail and bring us through it, and if not then it might be time for us to return Home. Thank you so much for this beautiful rendition! It brought tears to my eyes in the best way. God bless all of you! Stay safe, healthy, and happy everyone! God is with us and He will not forsake us. 💜
Dear Home Free, I have been having a really hard time lately In a few days will be a year since my dad passed away from an aggressive cancer (29 days from first mass located to filling his abdomen and right lung, before passing away) Plus with my new health issues... This was one of my dad's favorite songs They way you all sing it is so beautiful!! It was a blessing to hear, I have listened to it multiple times. It has been helping with my healing My dad would have loved listening to all of you, especially when the bass is the main vocalist (he sang bass) Thank You so much for posting this on UA-cam!!!
I watch this, either directly on Home Free’s channel, or through a reaction, about once a month. So beautiful, and what a magnificent, appropriate setting. Thank you all!
Ray Cocker if you really can't find any good music, it shows you're either stuck in the past, not looking hard enough, or you're just recycling the opinion of everyone else. In any case, you're flat out wrong. I'm not gonna sit here and give you examples, go look for good music like the people who have more than two brain cells to carry a charge.
Ray Cocker I apologize, I thought you were making a sweeping statement on this generation's music as a whole. I have come to expect as much. Again, I apologize, have a nice day.
+Hearts&Minds with me, I struggle with the mainstream stuff that is constantly played, but I have found bands I like that are at least fairly modern. It's not a matter of not looking hard enough, it's a matter of having the (IMO) worst of this/my generations music the most accessible and played
The bass singer, Tim, reminds me of my dad. Memories of listening to my dad singing this song in church. The harmony these guys do is amazing. Moves me and brings tears to my eyes.
I just listened to Pentatonix version with Jennifer Hudson and it's no where near Home Free's version. Whenever i hear your version, I get goosebumps all over my bdy. Reminds of being in church as a youngster. All your voices combined on this song is a little slice of heaven n earth. Thank u Home Free.
My goodness, I am in tears. In celebration of Earth Day I was looking for the perfect song to go in the weekly church email. I found it here! Absolutely amazing.
This is the best rendition of this song that I have ever heard. It is an excellent arrangement, and your voices bring a perfect balance. Truly moving, and my new favorite video. Please do more Christian music.
A mighty song of comfort from such beautiful voices. Tell the little one my great grandfather was a Brown. Christmas blessings to you all. Thanks for blessing us!
I just read a lot of the comments below, and I had to wipe ALOT of tears to be able to see to type. Tears were there before I read a single comment, just from the BEAUTY of this video. The setting, the photography, and of course the Singing. My brother went to be with the Lord last week. We had a wonderful conversation just hours before, about HOW GREAT GOD REALLY IS ! ALWAYS remember that your voices ARE a GIFT from Him, and don't let ANYTHING tempt you to the contrary! God Bless You ALL!
You can't help but feel as if God is so very close with this. There have been times I've listened to Black Gospel and feel as if God is the very air I breathe, the seat I am sitting on, and this song brings that feeling... as if God is so close I can feel His hand on mine.
I don't appreciate people saying that this song has sexual lyrics. Just because you don't sing this song or don't go to church, doesn't give the right to say bad thing about the song. This is a wonderful hymn. Evangelist Billy Graham once said: “The reason I like 'How Great Thou Art' is because it glorifies God. It turns Christian’s eyes toward God, rather than upon themselves. I use it as often as possible because it is such a God-honoring song.” Today (10/30/16) during church when the congregation was singing this song, my mother was in tears. It reminded her of her father who passed away over 3 years ago. Her father meant the world to her. I thank Home Free for singing this great old hymn and hopefully they could sing more great old hymns. I loved how they sang it. Beautiful arrangement. So I ask this of you, whenever you sing this hymn I want you to glorify God rather than yourselves.
You're confusing the discussion about the secular song "Hallelujah" - originally by Leonard Cohen & recently covered by Pentatonix with discussions of this hymn. Apparently some people aren't great listeners & think just because a song (Hallelujah) uses biblical phrases and incidents it's automatically glorifying GOD like How Great Thou Art does. That is FAR from the case.
I really don´t know how to start this comment !! I will like to be able to transmit the joy, and the incredible sensation that goes through my mind and my guts when I listen to this song !! Immediately I feel a lump in my throat and everything just stops! The incredible voices that have made this melody are just a true ART WORK !! I have no words to express how much this song means to me! THANK YOU HOME FREE !!!!!!!!!!
Sister & I sang this with guitar for our mom, her roommate, and others who rolled up in wheelchairs, or laid in nearby rooms, in nursing home a month before she died. So thankful we did. Hope God provides someone who "will sing one song for me".
Paul Davis Kennamer has a deeper recording, it’s very good. I wish Tim used more of his super low notes because he can go way lower, but home free’s version is still fantastic. Definitely a wonderful rendition as you say
Hope to hear more hymns bring me back to the time my father was still here. He was a Presbyterian pastor and also was a music manager before he became a pastor. Hearing this song and your voices makes me think of him and his love for God and music thank you for the most beautiful version of How Great Thou Art and God bless
Its difficult to judge who's better because of their style of music. But when PTX does country and Home Free does pop, they are soooo good as well. I'm more of a Pentaholic but I still love home free. Let just enjoy their music
Oh my God. What a performance. This is like a symphony of voices without having to add impersonations of instruments. This has a near Cathedral organ quality to it with the voices blending together and highs and lows added as an audio spice. Truly a gift for us!
I am suffering horribly with COVID-19 at home alone. I’m 63, disabled and feeling very isolated being so sick. I can only rest when I put on Home Free on UA-cam. Thank you.
Praying for you. Just know that you are never alone.
Praying for healing and Gods love to surround you from South Australia
How are you feeling? Prayers for healing!
Thank you. God bless you
In God we trust. God bless you.

@Micayla Doyle Sometimes I cry because it touches me so deeply ... it is so beautiful.
Glenda Williams: u put it beautifully...soooo sorry for the loss of your daughter. Keep taking care of yourself.
The last hymn I sang with my mother before she died. She was suffering from senile dementia but she knew every word. She’s singing to our beloved Father God in Heaven now.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I hope your mom finds mine so they can sing together while watching over us. ☦💖✝️💖

I just wonder if Home Free truly understands how important they are to so many of us. It's so easy to slip into depression when you're alone. They and their music literally feel like the hands of 5 friends reaching out to give us something to hang on to so as not to slip into the dark places.
Hi how are you?
Good morning Linda how are you doing I hope everything is fine with you and your family?
AMEN!
Hello Linda Nearing , how are you doing??

"this is my beloved son... with whom I am well pleased"
Then, at the burial, a flock of birds flew in and "sang sweetly in the trees... "
I am just his dad, God is his father... You did good son, we are both well pleased...
We will miss you. but we know where you are.
I am so sorry you miss your son, So glad you have the hope of seeing him again,
What a sign...
I am so very sorry for your great loss. I know that you must still be grieving. However, to know the promise that God made to us, makes the pain so much easier to bear. You Will see your son again, when God says the time has come. I am thankful for your son's service to our country. May God continue to comfort you and your family. God bless.
So sorry
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I buried my son too. I'm thrilled for the signs the Lord gave you that your son is with Him! Mine is too, and so, like you, while we grieve, we do not grieve as those with no hope.

How great thou art is a Swedish song
I have to say that I went through a medical crisis this past December while I was home alone.
I figured I was at the end and God gave me the song 'How Great Thou Art' to sing in my head. But I told Him that I wanted to be listening to it while I joined Him. Since I didn't have strength, I asked Him to find me a version that was sincere so that I could go home listening to true worship.
In two clicks, He brought me to this version.
Then I lay there in tears, basking in His presence and in your music until warmth & breath gradually seeped back into my body and I lived, by the grace of God. 💗✝️
Thank you for being part of that blessing to me during that time. God used you to bring glory to Himself and to bring wholehearted worship as He gave me peace and walked through the valley with me.

These guys are so talented that it must be a gift from God to sing his praises.

This is beautiful but probably not as beautiful as you singing for your grandfather.
O Lord, my God
when I in awesome wonder
consider all
the worlds thy hands have made
I see the stars,
I hear the rolling thunder,
thy power throughout
the universe displayed
then sings my soul,
my saviour God, to thee,
how great thou art,
how great thou art
When through the woods,
and forest glades i wander,
and hear birds sing swetly in the trees
when i look down,
fron lofty mountain grandeur
and see the brook,
and feel the gentle breeze
then sings my soul,
my saviour God, to thee,
how great thou art,
how great thou art,
then sings my soul,
my saviour God, to thee,
how great thou art,
how great thou art
it is well
it is well
with my soul
with my soul
it is well
it is well
with my soul
when Christ shall come
with shout of acclamation
and take me home,
what joy shall fill my heart
then i shall bow
with humble adoration,
and then priclaim,
! My God, how great thou art!
then sings my soul,
my saviour God, to thee,
how great thou art,
how great thou art
Then sings my soul,
my saviour God, to thee,
how great thou art,
how great thou art

Thank you for being able to return that peace to me so that I am able to help the next family!
Thank you so much for all you do in what must be a difficult time.
Praise God almighty for using this group to illustrate the power and beauty if His creation!
A divine gift ... all of them.
Hello Rita how are you doing hope you're doing great with your family may God bless you
Hello Rita how are you doing
I love this music so amazing with nice memories. How is life treating you Rita ?
I have chosen this as one of the hymns to be sung at my funeral. Nothing like locking it in.
I also want to have How Great Thou Art sung at my funeral, and I wish it could be this beautiful rendition by Home Free, but they left out the 3rd (and most important) verse. :( At my funeral, all 4 verses must be sung. I wish Home Free would re-record it with that verse included.
If Jesus doesn't come before you die :)
Me too!! 😊
My husband and I absolutely love that you actually sang this is the Alps. It’s so majestic and that song and your voices are so amazing, thank you for sharing with the world!💜💜💜
Glorious! I’m not a religious man, but this song certainly makes feel the holy spirit and I sing like I’m leadin’ the choir!
You might just be religious yet. You are loved. He has a special place for you, in his kingdom there are many rooms.
Don’t worry mate that means you haven’t found your true path yet
Well GET Jesus!! Then u will GET HEAVEN!! And seeing as how theres no purgatory...the only remaining place to go is NOT a good destination eh...
I'm sorry you lost your mom. I know she was awesome!
Played this for my dad as he was struggling to let go.... He passed so peacefully
May God rest his soul 🙏🏾
My prayers to you and your family. Please know you will see each other again.
Amen and may God keep his soul.
❤❤

I have many demons from my military time and have struggled on off with alcohol. Listening to you guys gives me a little escape. Ispent years singing in retirement homes, but couldn't compet with you guys. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
This is probably my favourite Acapella video of all time. Mountains always speak to me of how great God is and the vocal dynamic range is just magical. Simply fantastic! Well done Home Free.

I personally know nothing about where you live, But I am so glad you love this music!
God Bless you to Timothy, love from Ireland....
This was my grandfathers favorite song and I sang it at his funeral. Great job guys
It was my grandfather's favorite song, too! God bless!
Mine too!!!!
I am a Grandfather times 3 and this video and rendition has quickly become my favorite hymn.
That must of been nice. God bless
It was also my father's favorite and played at his funeral.
Dear Home Free,
I have been having a really hard time lately
In a few days will be a year since my dad passed away from an aggressive cancer (29 days from first mass located to filling his abdomen and right lung, before passing away)
Plus with my new health issues...
This was one of my dad's favorite songs
They way you all sing it is so beautiful!!
It was a blessing to hear, I have listened to it multiple times.
It has been helping with my healing
My dad would have loved listening to all of you, especially when the bass is the main vocalist (he sang bass)
Thank You so much for posting this on UA-cam!!!
Angels walk amongst us, and they are Home Free
I watch this, either directly on Home Free’s channel, or through a reaction, about once a month. So beautiful, and what a magnificent, appropriate setting. Thank you all!
Only by the grace of God, Tim’s voice didn’t cause an avalanche! Seriously, truly inspiring. It ministered to me greatly
Wow, this is refreshing. This new generation of music is driving me nuts.
Thank you. There is still hope for humanity.
Thank you for your heart and mind.
And no, it's just refreshing music to my ears. Beautiful.
Ray Cocker I apologize, I thought you were making a sweeping statement on this generation's music as a whole. I have come to expect as much. Again, I apologize, have a nice day.
Wow beautiful
+Hearts&Minds with me, I struggle with the mainstream stuff that is constantly played, but I have found bands I like that are at least fairly modern. It's not a matter of not looking hard enough, it's a matter of having the (IMO) worst of this/my generations music the most accessible and played
We lost our son ,Tony, April 1, 2021. He was in so much pain. May he be without pain and in heaven with God. Healed and happy how great God can be.
I love this song, it was one of my best. How is life treating you??
I’m so sorry for your loss may god bless you
@@nancychenibsen5999 Good to hear from you Bev. Where are you from?
The bass singer, Tim, reminds me of my dad. Memories of listening to my dad singing this song in church. The harmony these guys do is amazing. Moves me and brings tears to my eyes.
Hello Jessica. How are you doing?
I just listened to Pentatonix version with Jennifer Hudson and it's no where near Home Free's version. Whenever i hear your version, I get goosebumps all over my bdy. Reminds of being in church as a youngster. All your voices combined on this song is a little slice of heaven n earth. Thank u Home Free.
My goodness, I am in tears. In celebration of Earth Day I was looking for the perfect song to go in the weekly church email. I found it here! Absolutely amazing.
God has gifted each of you with such beautiful voices, I am so happy to hear you use your gift in praise Just love you guys ! My new favorite group.
Aw shucks, thanks!
home free try everything
Thanks Guys. You have brought Peace to so many .Bless you all.
This is the best rendition of this song that I have ever heard. It is an excellent arrangement, and your voices bring a perfect balance. Truly moving, and my new favorite video. Please do more Christian music.
KA Metcalf can you please give me the sheet music my email is : sherlockmoriarty116@gmail.com
Hello Kara how are you doing hope you're doing great with your family may God bless you
adam voice is beautiful he don't get to sing often, but when he do watch out!
LOVE THIS! Does make me cry. A LOT! Because it was played at both my Daddy and Mummy's Funerals. BUT it is JUST sooooo beautiful!
i love it too it moves me
Very much sooooo. I keep "revisiting" it and have tears every time I listen
makes me cry too - been sung at EVERY family funeral in my memory! A family favorite for sure!
Meredith Arbon
I use it as often as possible because it is such a God-honoring song.”
Today (10/30/16) during church when the congregation was singing this song, my mother was in tears.
You say a word enough times and it loses it's meaning, that in itself has a meaning.
thx for pointing the sexual stuff out dude...not ruining the song at all.
TheGussmann please find me, I am so lost
+Lejean Messer I sooo dislike Hallelujah. Did Cohen really not know what hallelujah means?
It never will get old glorifying our God! He is Mighty! In love, glory, grace and mercy! God is good all the time! All the time God is good to us!
Sheer vocal music perfection, overwhelmingly gorgeous scenery, and a truthful and eternal message. This performance has it all.
WOW. Just wow!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! And of course it was great hearing Adam sing! 💕 My new favorite version of this song for sure!
and man that last note 😍😍
Sister & I sang this with guitar for our mom, her roommate, and others who rolled up in wheelchairs, or laid in nearby rooms, in nursing home a month before she died. So thankful we did. Hope God provides someone who "will sing one song for me".
I am truly amazed! The angels are here on earth singing to our souls! We are blessed by your voices!
Never have i heard more a beutiful and deep voice sing this song, what a gourgeous rendition
-6 points for spelling, case, and punctuation errors (6 errors).
Thanks so much for this. I had this played at my wife's funeral today.
So very sorry for your loss, may you know the Lords presence during this trying time.
Deepest condolences
First pentatonix with hallelujah, now this.... Life is gooooood!! :)
I personally think Home Free should cover Hallelujah themselves to see who's better! ;)
Totally agree! The harmony of Home Free can not be matched by anyone. Love Pentatonix but they have nothing on our Home Free Fellas!
+Comedy Bros no doubt PENTATONIX will win
Its difficult to judge who's better because of their style of music. But when PTX does country and Home Free does pop, they are soooo good as well. I'm more of a Pentaholic but I still love home free. Let just enjoy their music
Omg yassssssssss
Oh my God. What a performance. This is like a symphony of voices without having to add impersonations of instruments. This has a near Cathedral organ quality to it with the voices blending together and highs and lows added as an audio spice. Truly a gift for us!
