As an anthropologist, I find many cultures fascinating. But I am particularly proud of my European ancestors ;-)

Outstanding interview...the last bit was incredibly profound. Ave Maria

Thank you for doing these videos. The part about our minds constantly thinking on our problems and therefore ignoring the many blessings we already have was insightful to me.

Very fitting for this to be released on the feast of the Queenship of Mary!

This conversation and setting was precious. Deep gratitude for putting this out there! Definitely drew me closer to Christ just watching this.

Thank you - this was beautiful and edifying! Having just moved to Europe from Canada, we find ourselves starting over in terms of community. Our parish church has been an absolute blessing, as have various expat groups. There’s always more though, as I’ve learned over the years: from book clubs, hobby groups, volunteering - it really helps to bridge personal and even ideological differences if one is involved in something that furthers the common good. If the opportunities don’t exist, create them!

Sebastian missed Fr. Charnel's little flash of humour over 'local cheese' - to be fully human in Christ, I think humour is a part.

Does anyone know which monastery is featured in the film? As far as I am aware, it wasn't named.

He's wrong about personal community - I know most of the people locally and only one goes on about politics or ideology - the rest about human problems, joys, boredom, laughs etc - it is gone maybe for Sebastian as he seems to know only intellectual elites

« Poupée de cire, Poupée de son », by France Gall, a French singer from the 60’s.
Then, « Auprès de ma blonde », a traditional French song.

Thank you, what a great deep conversation. Human beings generally live in despair or denial without God. When you deny reality, you deny God and the paradox is that without God we cannot stand reality. The change happens when we perceive the love of God in our lives for the first time; then we began to pray with our hearts. Praying is thanking God for everything, including the communist neighbors because if we look at them ideologically we do not see them as persons. To be seen as persons we need to show ourselves as such, with charity and without ideology.

There is no "love of god" just hormonal programming projected onto the world, typical of a cancerous omnicidal living death machine human.
