My family has a 2014 Tundra that we got brand new back in 2014. We’ve only put 65,000 miles on it so it’s not even close to broken in yet for Toyota truck that could easily go over 1 million miles. The interior and exterior of the new tundra is beautiful. They did a great job with the design of the interior and exterior. However, I knew it would happen, but I’m super sad to see the old 5.7 V8 go. I know it is slow and has really shitty gas mileage but like I said, it could easily do 1 million miles, it’s a loud old school naturally aspirated V8 that sounds amazing. The new twin-turbo V6 seems like a decent engine. But the horsepower is weak and the gas mileage is only like 3 MPG better with city driving. We plan on keeping our 2014 for many more years. Not worth the upgrade at all to us. Especially since it’s only driven in the city and never taken on road trips.
This power train has more HP and 20% more torque than the 5.7. I have driven both and the 3.5 TT is much stronger and the gas mileage is closer to 5mpg improvement on the highway.
I bought the 21 knowing the new gen was ab to come out. First new vehicle purchase ever and I love it! I’m not driving it daily so gas mileage doesn’t matter so much.
Honestly after seeing this in person in the NY Auto show 2022, it's great on the looks but on the inside was very interesting. The infotainment is obviously a good system to use (no home screen though), the wood trim feels fake on the door panels (idk why) but on the dashboard it was fine. No auto 4WD is a dealbreaker. How many people are actually gonna take their 70 grand trucks off-road often? Without 4wd this truck will be dangerous in snow zones or on ski trips
I'm not a fan of the taillights. Lack of on demand AWD is a deal breaker. Toyota builds great vehicles but they're so slow to upgrade design, powertrain, and tech features. for instance my wife's 2016 GMC Terrain has wireless Apple Carplay. 2016 model.
First off I wanna say that I really like your reviews However, this one was a little subpar Auto four-wheel-drive on a truck would be considered extreme luxury and it’s honestly pretty stupid and there are a lot of things that Toyota has to be careful of since they only sell a couple hundred thousand a year compared to the others who sell 5, 6 or 700,000 a year Next you can drive in full-time four-wheel-drive all day long every day if you want and it has nothing to do with hurting the truck until you turn on dry payment and that is all because of the differentials You will eventually do some damage Honestly if someone can’t handle turning four-wheel-drive on and off and maneuvering a truck they shouldn’t own one Beyond that you did pretty good with your review but keep in mind no matter what brand it is they all make good trucks and no one fell short because although we as consumers like to compare one to the other the whole reason they all exist is because they all offer something different and that’s what people want
Toyota builds great vehicles, but that Tundra is hideous on two fronts, the grill, and that ridiculous tablet on the center stack, check out the new GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, thats how you design a truck inside and out

Toyota takes care of the customers better than some. I agree with your expensive thoughts however. I was concerned about the reliability but by the time I can afford one all the bugs will be sorted.

What happened to the chrome on the side view mirrors?
And what's with the white instead of orange?
You know how a filter feeder swims through the ocean with it's mouth open? Look familiar???
Im sure the information is out there but how much more efficient would the 5.7 be with the 10 speed? Hopefully someone will do a swap in the future if the tcm and all the electronics don't make it impossible.

Beautiful truck
Why do vehicles make screen so big they actually overhang the other controls. I noticed that the climate control the numbers are covered up by the bottom of the main display
The shooting angle is so weird that you seem to be very small compared to the truck.
Don't like how the. Truck app works after starting when opening the door my nissan continues running after opening the door will run for 10 minutes it will transfers to the key fob when you hit the brake and start button
Having to pay 3k for 4x4 in a truck, especially a full size one is absurd.
No truck in America has a live axle, your wheels spin from the open diff. This has the middle engine not the base engine. How many buttons on the key require a monthly subscription? Interesting car ad but this wasn’t a review
Gotta say the front end is extremely ugly, so much so that it is a deal breaker for me. I can't believe people are actually overlooking that.
This new truck is Not Growing on me at all. I’ll keep my Gen 2 for many more yrs. Toyota Corporation has not been listening to its core Toyota Tundra Truck Buyers 👎 Your Right the truck looks Wimpy 👎
Sweet glasses!
Closest thing we will get to a land cruiser
How do I get that black redline shirt?
I wish the grill was larger. 😉
Is the APP free?
with a lot of these new cars, the subscription service is free for 1 year. after that you pay.
how much nicer is the capstones interior?
They’re identical, the Capstone is just limited to only the weird black and white interior color. The 1794 with the Advanced Package *is* a Capstone, just minus all the excess Chrome added to the Capstone, and the 1794 gets only the acoustic windshield, not the windshield + side front windows.
The capstone has thicker glass, more sound depending and leather seats that use the same leather as the Lexus LS.
How come this is half ton truck but can haul 1.5 tons?!
how in the hell you suppose to do a tune up on that engine?
No point comparing competitor technology if they dont work!
No auto 4WD is a dealbreaker. How many people are actually gonna take their 70 grand trucks off-road often? Without 4wd this truck will be dangerous in snow zones or on ski trips
this is a grocery getter for a mom in Texas it definitely isn't going off road lol....as you said it be dangerous
People that can’t humble themselves to slide a switch to get to 4wd probably don’t know how to off road or be prepared for bad driving surfaces.
Whats up with all the creeping/walking with every video...looks like my toddler trying to learn how to walk....🤣
I'm not a fan of the taillights. Lack of on demand AWD is a deal breaker. Toyota builds great vehicles but they're so slow to upgrade design, powertrain, and tech features. for instance my wife's 2016 GMC Terrain has wireless Apple Carplay. 2016 model.
Smart people will buy it in 7 years used
Where is the all electric Tundra where?
First off I wanna say that I really like your reviews
However, this one was a little subpar
Auto four-wheel-drive on a truck would be considered extreme luxury and it’s honestly pretty stupid and there are a lot of things that Toyota has to be careful of since they only sell a couple hundred thousand a year compared to the others who sell 5, 6 or 700,000 a year
Next you can drive in full-time four-wheel-drive all day long every day if you want and it has nothing to do with hurting the truck until you turn on dry payment and that is all because of the differentials
You will eventually do some damage
Honestly if someone can’t handle turning four-wheel-drive on and off and maneuvering a truck they shouldn’t own one
Beyond that you did pretty good with your review but keep in mind no matter what brand it is they all make good trucks and no one fell short because although we as consumers like to compare one to the other the whole reason they all exist is because they all offer something different and that’s what people want
Toyota builds great vehicles, but that Tundra is hideous on two fronts, the grill, and that ridiculous tablet on the center stack, check out the new GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, thats how you design a truck inside and out
Really improved? I have that 3.5/3.4 V6 in my 2014 Highland and had it in a 2011 RAV4 the last year they let that 3.5 in a RAV4. It Rocks a Highlander or a RAV4. Should be fine for their Farm Truck, Tundra! Sounds like with the 6’ bed you can’t close a garage door when it is inside!

Will wAit for an all electric one
When out of warranty it'll be brutally expensive to fix. Toyota barely honors the warranty if at all in the meantime.
Toyota takes care of the customers better than some. I agree with your expensive thoughts however. I was concerned about the reliability but by the time I can afford one all the bugs will be sorted.
Toyota should make the 5.0 v8 and option from Lexus. These eco boost and Toyota turbos won’t last as long, and the mpg benefits are minimal.
The 5L isn't a good engine for this truck plus they are trying to get good emissions meaning no v8s
@@dude-yg9ez doesn’t the 5.0 ford v8 get the same mileage as the eco boost?
@@thomas735 not sure but I doubt it, the base sr engine already has more torque than the 5L v8
@@dude-yg9ez From what I heard there wasn’t a huge difference especially on highway

Too bad it doesn’t have a chrome delete option. Looks like my grandpas pick up. Too much cheap chrome.
I insist on a bigger front grill or I'm out.
Sorry, that grille looks ridiculous.
It’s so ugly. No storage under the rear seat in the hybrid bc they used old battery tech. No tow hooks. No onboard generator. I was waiting to buy this, but couldn’t be more disappointed.
The numbers don't seem to compete well against ford. Nice looking truck though.
Should have auto start on key 🔑
It DOES!
