    I have a ‘24 Volvo polestar and I love it. It’s great in town using the “Pure”, just using the battery. On trips, in the hybrid mode, I get about 29 mpg. It has brought back fun when I drive.

    I have a ‘24 XC60 T8 Plus. I prefer it over the Ultra or P* trims, the smaller wheels ride better. I lack the B+W stereo, but have the HK option. Mine was $65,440 MSRP. I leased it to get the $7,500 plus a bunch of other incentives - I ended up with a selling price of $47,600 after all the incentives and leased it for 2 years. With all the incentives on the T8 I ended up getting it for a tad less than a comparable B5 AWD Plus with the same level of equipment so it was a no brainer. It’s a rocket - I like it.

    This is truly excellent. I wish they had something similar for their smallest SUV - the XC40. Volvo's take on the "Hot Hatch" segment. I'd be interested. Frankly, I am not sure why they decided to ax their PHEV XC40 model in North America. We now have the option of the regular B5 mild hybrid or full electric. The 400+ hp PHEV option, especially one with extra Polestar details would be exceptional. BTW, all these infotainments will be up-gradable over the air to include their brand new system seen in the newest XC90 model. Should makes the user experience much more smooth. Finally, once you hear this audio system, it will ruin all other systems (in a vehicle under $100k) for you. It is absolutely spectacular.

They took it out after the parts and chips shortage during the pandemic. At this point, you'd think that situation is all better and the new ones would get it, but still nothing. Exterior while not exciting still looks handsome. Interior still looks 5 or so years behind. Something at this price point should definitely have a power steering column. Paddles would’ve been nice but isn’t a nonstarter for me. Not having the option to select ventilated seats with one of the lighter interior choices is one of the reasons the X3 isn’t high on my list anymore. Black interiors is almost always a no go for me. At $77K I want
    Rear
    Ventilation controls and I definitely want a recline option in the rear. Taller drivers will eat into that rear seat legroom and a recline option would help to ease the pain. The primary reason of even be interested in the Volvo is because of the massaging seats and you can’t have that on the performance variant. No mention of the GV70 in the whole video. It costs less, is just as fast, rides really well and the interior looks leagues better.
    Question Sofiyan.. No shade but what’s the math behind the jacket and the shorts? I’m seeing this look outside but I’m always in the car and never get to ask anyone.

    • @ukgroucho
      @ukgroucho Місяць тому +1

      Volvo don't fit powered steering columns or adjustable head restraints for safety reasons. If you are in a serious wreck which kills the electrics and you need to move the steering wheel forwards or up (or whatever) to enable you to get out of the vehicle then a manually adjustable column is pretty muc always going to work, an lectric one may not. Non adjstable head restraints? The clue is in the name - head restraints not head rests. They are intended to prevent whiplash not t be somewhere to rest your head. Volvo found that people were adjusting them to be 'comfortable' as head rests not realising that they were putting them in a non optimal postion for whiplash protection so they removed adjustability. All part of Volvos focus on safety.

    Although I sort of wish that I had the current version of the XC60 T8 power train, my 2022 XC60 T8 Recharge R-Design version with 400 HP and 472 lb-ft of torque is sufficient, if a bit less enthusiast-oriented. The published all-electric range for my 2022 T8 is only 20 miles, but I usually get about 24 miles in all-electric (a/k/a “Pure”) mode, and the fuel economy in hybrid mode exceeds 30 MPG. Ofcourse, it gets 138 MPG in hybrid mode when the electric battery is fully-charged, so I am basically using no gasoline at all while doing local trips and short errands. I’d love to have the Polestar Engineered version, as I drove either Polestar or Polestar Engineered Volvos prior to getting this R-Design version of the XC60 T8 Recharge. Still, the one I have a in’t bad for how I use it, and it’s the sportiest version of the XC60 that was available when I bought mine. Oh yeah, one additional reason that I bought this one is because the local Volvo dealer was offering a super-steep discount on the 2022 model after the 2022-1/2 version with the added electric motor power and all-electric range was introduced, and I got almost $15,000 off of the sticker price on one with less than 5K miles on it that had been a Manager’s demo vehicle.

    FYI, there is the "Creep" setting in the driving page that does allow for full 1-pedal driving esp. if you turn on auto brake hold. Creep will make it feel more like a traditional ICE car in that it will roll slowly forwards when you let off the brake.

    You need to clarify how the drive modes actually work: The gas engine is connected to front wheels while the electric motor drives the rear.
    Hybrid - Gas or Electric based on speed and battery level. Will use battery at low speed, etc. Gas and Electric never work at same time, switches between FWD and RWD.
    Polestar - Combination of gas and electric all of the time working together, gas drives front wheels and electric drives rear wheels. how you get highest performance and 455HP.
    Pure - Pure electric mode only which is also RWD. Of course this depends on battery level.

I had a 2018 XC60 T6 and it had more options than this. I have an 2025.5 XC90 Ultra T8 and am happy with it, but also disappointed with all the stuff it doesn’t have that my XC60 had. Don’t get me wrong, the drive is very nice, but little things like self parking, button push seat lower, rear view mirror digital compass aren’t there. Also, cornering lights gone. oh how a straight 6 turbo would be ideal here. redesign redesign redisign inside and out already volvo. body style has basically been the same since this car came out, and no wonder you have issues with the electronics.......made in china with china parts. all that to save a buck. thats not how you keep buyers. my 2013 s60 t6 RD awd is my 3rd volvo and i have always kept an eye on the xc60, BUT these mentions have kept me from buying one, along with all the step down in quality. if i see a "made in china" on the vin sticker in the drivers door well. im out!

Great advertisement for this Chinese Company; 2 year old probably get one for 35K with depreciation.
