I'm keeping this video an open dialog. Unlike Polygon's actual video, comments are open and will stay open (and I will accept all comments marked as spam (Unless they are spam)).
One, he is not a screaming idiot, this video was well made to contrast political virtue signaling versus just enjoying games. Two, the polygon video is shit. Three, it is already linked, so you just wanted an opportunity to shit on the youtuber who actually showed us how to have fun in the game.
Don't have gun nor need one. Have air rifle for fun. Have wide variety of tools, from office knife to huge f**king sledgehammer. Feel pretty safe, coz against organised armed robery my gun_in_the_safe wan't do shit but get me killed. And against some random thugs.. They do not came to your home here is Russia, but I may find them trying to rob me in some shitty part of a town 1 time in me life. If so I'll f**king leg it, coz 1v3-4-5 without machinegun nest it is a death sentence if I'll even try to use any kind of weapon. And if there is dire situation when I absolutely must engage someone armed and I'm somehow prepared, I don't see how I would allow this situation even happen. My 2 cents about weapons. ^_^
My father is a libtard, and I’m afraid he will become an NPC. My father, the man who raised me, is a horrible libtard and possibly an NPC. He seemed better when I was young, like a true chad, but as I got older, I realized more and more that he was becoming a libtard. My dad and I would argue often. It started off with my showing him my favorite UA-cam personalities. I would show him videos of atheists, skeptics and many others. Sometimes the videos would include libtards being owned. Unfortunately, he did not agree with me that said owns were epic. In fact, he would often take the side of the feminazis! I was appalled, but as he was from an older generation, I simply assumed that he was confused. Perhaps my mom (a Stacey if ever there was one) had brainwashed him with her pussy pass. She had been through multiple men, and I suspect she even dated negroids and other undesirables. She must have been the source of these horrible liberal delusions my father was having. All that changed last week. Rewinding a bit, I also have a sister. She used to be nice, but then she became a Stacey just like my mom. She started using whore pills and, to my shock, dating a black boy! As you might have guessed, I also hate black people, so this was a terrible shock to me. One day while I was digging through her panty drawer hoping to find some used ones to sniff. To my horror, I discovered an empty condom wrapper! Not only was she dating a black man, but she was fucking him too! My first thought was: what would Donald Trump do? You see, I love Donald Trump so much that my MAGA hat is the only thing in my room that I never used to catch my semen following my many hours-long hentai viewing sessions. Thinking about my President, I decided to confront this vile subhuman that my sister was dating. I put on my Ahegao hoodie and my best pair of fingerless gloves. I knew this might come to blows. I walked up to him and said, calmly, “are you fucking my sister?” He replied “I’m sorry, but I’d rather not say. Your sister is very important to me and I respect her privacy very much. I truly hope you can understand, because you’re important to me as her brother and I would like to have the very best relationship with you.” The only thing I could mutter in response was “nani???” before I began throwing punches. This guy is huge. He’s clean, handsome and powerful. He parried all of my blows like they were nothing. At some point during the brawl, he knocked the trilby off my head and onto the floor, and I accidentally stepped on it, ruining it. At this point, the rage started welling up inside me so I reached for my katana to finish the fight like a true samurai. I felt the spirit of Naruto fill me with courage, and just as I was about to take a swing, my dad walks in. I thought he would have my back, but to my shock, he took the side of my daughter’s buck! I was appalled. In that instant, I dropped my katana. I was defeated. I knew my father, the man who raised me, was an NPC! Soon after that, he told me to leave and I was only too happy to do so. I had had enough of this house and the libtards in it. I went back the next day to grab my laptop, as it contained by loli collection and my erotic Jordan Peterson lobster hentai fan fiction (I’m still working on it so please don’t ask to read it). My father would not let me collect my things. I looked him in this eyes and said “I have no senpai” before leaving. Within the hour I had rented an apartment with a friend despite having no job, no money, no possessions, never bathing, and having no friends. I texted my father and asked him to return my gaming supplies. My Skyrim waifu is now the closest thing I have to family.
George Frideric Handel yeah I took one of those political compass quizzes and got the same score Thomas Paine would have gotten, so I took the mantle of the Paine Train lol
So what? Having perfect grammar doesn't automatically qualify you to talk about anything other than how to write. You can still make a good point with a couple mistakes in your post.
And a pickaxe. And a lawnmower. And pesticide. And plenty of other examples that have made our life tens of times as simple and easy as they would be without.
Deborah Lancaster That doesn't surprise me one bit. Reminds me of the reporter that fired an AR15 at a range and claimed to have gotten PTSD from the experience. Doom is what really woke me up to Polygon's stupidity.
He had to have been faking it to push his agenda. I mean he's a fucking adult after all. We had just about all types of guys in the army, from small to huge and from brave to timid, and no one so much as frowned at shooting their rifles for the first time. Grown men don't cry at the kick of a 5.56, actors do.
Well. You are 20% more likely to die of gunwounds when you have a gun in your house. Weather that number is so high because of burglers shooting back or because of suicides I can not tell you, but you are statistically in more danger with a gun in the housw than without.
well....history has proven that almost everything that was invented had as short-term or long term, indirectly or directly, a simple goal: eliminate opposition.
It's not biased. Cause it's not a review. It takes like 5 seconds of using Google to find the article and realize that the fucking thing _isn't a review._
Turbo Autist 200th like! He probably gets scared looking at a cord because a cord could be used to hang someone, like what they used to do to runaway slaves!
Turbo Autist “it’s just a bar of soap is used to kill millions of microscopic creatures and I know many of those creatures will hurt me but what about the ones who are harmless what about them” -Polygon reviewer
"Well, there's this game about guns.... but instead of playing the game or addressing its merits or weaknesses in any way, let me ramble tearfully about the morality of firearms for a while." Geez, what a sad sack.
@Ima Pseudonym - Hell, I'd argue this would make an amazing tool for Miltary / Civilian firearms instructors to teach proper gun safety without worrying about "Billy COD"'s accidental discharges - but nah, instead we get "Virtual guns are bad 'cuz my irresponsible parent's lack of gun safety gave me PTSD". (seriously, who the hell has kids and leaves their gun unlocked and possibly loaded? Without having some kind of "talk" about how "yes, this can kill you you 11 year old idiot" at the very least?)
Kitime There is a system atm (that I got a couple chances to try out. It was amazing) called FATS, or the "FireArms Training Simulator". It's basically 3 massive projector screens side by side, then a long mat of like MMA rubber (you probably know what I mean), then (it varies depending on the day/branch using it but for example) there'll be 10 M4's, 2 M249's or M240's, one time they had LAW's and various rocket launchers, and the last time I went they were training police earlier in the day, so they had loads of Beretta's and Glocks. They're all hooked up to air hoses and have solid barrels for [mostly] realistic recoil. It's crazy fun as well as having basically infinite variables. If that got turned into a 360 degree or VR type thing, then I'd understand it being a training device, but VR as it is now just won't cut it. Military tech is always 5 years ahead of civilian lmao.
Kitime Exactly. My parents taught me and my sister about firearm safety at a very young age. What to do, what not to do, how to check if it is loaded, how to unload them, etc. They even gave us free access to touch them at any time we wanted, so long as we asked them first, and waited for them to get them and to supervise us as we did. It removed any taboo, keeping us from 'sneaking peaks" when we weren't supposed to. It made the guns no different than any other dangerous power tool in the garage which deserved respect. Just a wee supervision while we handle them, and respect the rules of safety... That is until all our guns were confiscated by UK police in the 90s... We've since moved to the States a few years after, and my Sister has made sure that her children are taught the same way we were. Lucky for them they have a crazy gun nut uncle whom is more than happy to share his knowledge of different guns and how to be safe with them, and to have fun. ^.-.^
Jack Petry Lol that’s called the EST 2000 and I’ve used it during my short enlistment in the MNARNG. One time we did Turkey Hunting and one of the NCOs hooked up the T-40 lmao Imagine firing your M-4 at simulated turkeys when you suddenly see and hear an explosion just to look over and see your NCO firing a damn launcher
I remember seeing this in full chan one time I didn't know who made it. I originally thought the video was the same person doing satire. Oh boy I was wrong. Pleasantly surprised to find this video in my recommended list two years later
hold on, do you mean people commenting were so vicious that they had to close comments? as far as I can tell someone's (lack of) skill at a video game isn't a problem...
if you watch the footage it looks like whoever's playing has never played a game in their lives, and this is supposed to be promoting a fast-paced fps aimed at the more hardcore crowd. they are purportedly professionals, if you saw a movie trailer and it was clearly put together by someone who'd never edited a video before you'd probably be wondering "who let this guy do this, and why do they think this is good enough to show?"
The Interfering Speedwagon uh it's not their job to promote the game, it's their job to review it and play it and present the experience to their audience. Their audience includes lots of casual gamers, and having the game played by someone who represents the skill level of a large section of your audience is not a problem. Remember that their job is to review, not to be good at the game, unlike your analogy where the person was literally bad at their job (making a movie trailer). Skill is not required to enjoy or review video games. Games have an accessibility problem, with gamers like you aggressively gatekeeping and deciding who "deserves" to play games. Shooting gameplay video with someone who ISN'T an expert at games is a good reminder that anyone is allowed to play & enjoy.
+Buck Swope what a ridiculous assertion. Casual gamers are responsible for a huge portion of games revenue and it would be financially disastrous to ignore them. I really hope you don't actually think the amount of time someone spends playing games determines their value as a human.
Why would he have to "save face" for that? He just gave his opinion about the game since that's his job. Yes, such a realistic simulation of a gun can feel weird and uneasy to some people and it's not about "not understanding fun". I can totally agree with the second guy having fun with it and enjoying it, but I also understand that it might not feel right for everyone to hold such a realistic gun in a videogame and it's a good thing that both opinions can be expressed. One being right doesn't make the other wrong.
The problem, I think, is that the person inherently doesn't understand the thing he's describing and talking about. He ostensibly admits that his fear of guns stems primarily from his lack of understanding about them. This equates more to a phobia than it does a differing point of view. Again, by his own description, the apprehension and discomfort he experiences comes from the presence of ambiguity where there should be knowledge. It's like someone proclaiming that there is something inherently wrong and nasty about sushi, for example, without ever having actually tried it. What this person needs is for someone to take him to an actual gun range and run him through a basic firearms training and safety course. Then, he would be able to come to a more informed conclusion rather than simply expressing a phobia based on a bad childhood memory.
+CakeIS based I did not "whine" about anything. I simply pointed at the reason for fearing a thing and suggested a possible way to resolve it. Wouldn't you agree that being more informed is a good thing? It's the best way to remove prejudice whether we're talking about inanimate objects, people, or anything else. Seriously though, I'm fine with someone having a differing opinion. Someone being anti-gun doesn't hurt my feelings one bit. The one thing I object to here, if anything, is the fact the he felt the need to go completely off-tangent instead of actually doing his job. If I were reviewing a movie, would it be appropriate if I simply said "OMG there's a clown in this movie. A clown scared me once as a child. Waaaaah!" instead of actually doing what I'm paid for?
I believe they're just mocking his opinion, rather than getting offended by it. To be fair Ben sounds about ready to kill himself. How could you not mercilessly mock it?
Scott Taco Point end toward enemy, kill enemy. Seriously! Its how Nobunaga cut as big a swath through Japan, give commoners some guns and suddenly the rich elite lose their advantage.
+Box Tank! Guns are the equalizers of our world. It doesn't matter who you are, man or woman, rich or poor, a member of royalty or a peasant, you can still be killed by a gun. Likewise, if you are any of these, you can kill someone with a gun. That is why the 2nd amendment is so important. It stops the elite from becoming tyrannical because there are hundreds of thousands of peasants with firearms to kick them off of their thrones.
Trenchcoat Samurai it doesn't even take a lot of training to use a gun, it definitely takes discipline but nowhere near as much as say a sword or a spear.
BelowAverageContent 4/10 for effort and sort of getting your point across. But the use of the year 1969 was illavised as it was during the Vietnam war a time when the young people were protesting the war and the next year it would escalate to young people being murdered by the national guard while protesting not gladly leaving to serve their country. Referencing a year during the period in which the us was in ww2 would have supported your cause more
yeah, I figure its one thing to take a moment to figure out where the safety is, but putting the sight there... I feel like I would be so embarrassed to make that mistake that I would blame the motion controls lol.
aestre Even when I was a child, I knew, without my parents needing to tell me that: GUN: KILLING MACHINE IN THE WRONG HANDS DON'T TOUCH KILLING MACHINE = NOBODY DIES BECAUSE I WAS BEING RETARDED
You may have known that but that does not change the fact that tonnes of kids die as they are unsupervised around guns or are able to find and obtain a parents gun.
to be fair you're parents are equally stupid as his, if you have a gun and kids there should be a 0% chance of the kids ever holding that gun, I live by myself and I keep my guns in a biometric safe which I keep hidin
+Cirlex well you know what they say people who cant see the difference between reality and videogames end up becoming school shooters that polygon dude must be one fucked up kid eh?
Ben "Rape is Funny" Kuchera leads us all on a maudlin journey into his traumatic childhood, giving us just a brief insight into how he became such an awful human being.
What he says can be valid, he just doesnt like guns. What i dont understand is why the hell would they let this guy do the review lmao. That's like forcing a soldier with severe ptsd to play cod and give his opinions.
Well with Polygon it is less about reviewing games, and more about making a moral virtue signalling grandstand for thunderous applause from the ultra Lefty SJW types...
Except a soldier has a legitimate condition, and even then he'd have valuable insight gained from knowledge, so at the very least, you'd gain a tragic, but eye opening realization about the genre This guy is just a fuckin wuss
They actually use vr simulations and tech similar to what a "realD 3d" theater uses in therapy for PTSD related to war. When exposure therapy is appropriate, if course.
I can't even tell if the Moonlight Sonata is added for comical effect or if this is how they'd present it. Thanks for sparing me their video though. Most enjoyable contrast between a irrational fear and someone who likes fun.
I had EXACTLY the same question. I KNEW it had to be a joke, but honestly, at this point... can we be sure?! I don't know If I'm disappointed or relieved it was added for effect ^^
Holy shit, I really honestly though this was satire. I even went to Polygon, and upon seeing the horribly written article, still thought "the video can't be real." Then I clicked play, and started hearing about how the guy held a gun as a kid, while playing the game of jam-the-handle-into-the-magazine-well. What the fuck even is Polygon....
Decker Shado apparently an anti gun, left leaning turd hole no longer worthy of gamers' time. To hell with them, their political ideology pushing, thinly veiled propaganda, and that feeble clown that created that initial video.
worker 1: sir, we gotta take down this building to build a hospital worker 2: alright, i'll just get the wrecking ball This fucknut: But that's a machine precision crafted to cause damage to other objects.
Let’s just politely state our point of view in a civilized manner to the building’s structural supports, they should see reason and collapse themselves
ThatOneFriendlyDude they've move toward comedy, and they do a good job at it. Monster factory and We Fought A Zoo are good. Stuff like this not so much
A perfect example of a gamer talking about a game versus an aging bleeding heart hipster who doesn't like games and would rather pontificate about his personal feelings about scary guns.
Kruegernator123 A 70 foot cliff is an inanimate object, but would you let your kids play on it? What's more, a gun is made to explode, centimetres above your hand to send a lump of metal out a tube. if that accidentally goes off (like it did in the game for him) that could kill the person standing next to him, or in the next room. I'm personally not afraid of guns but this man as good reason to be.
Accidentally go off? There is no possible way for a firearm to "accidentally discharge" unless you were to drop it. Even then, most gun manufacturers have invented drop safeties to prevent the trigger from engaging during a fall. An accidental discharge is a negligent discharge. If this guy were to at least educate himself about firearms and understand how they work, at least he would be able to trust himself in operating one.
Kruegernator123 I wasn't very clear, I meant accidentally as in he said he was pulling the trigger trying to get it to go off whilst messing with the charging handle and buttons. The same could be said with anything. You mess around with it for long enough and you'll master it. (Most guns now-a-days won't go off even if you smack them, or drop them on the floor. Although I wouldn't trust an older gun from 20+ years ago.)
The guy says "I don't know how guns work," and proceeds to whine for three minutes on why guns are scary. Why should *anyone* listen to his uninformed, wild speculation? I don't know how to fly a quad-copter drone, but I wouldn't make a video about how they're destroying the moral fiber of america and how they are meaningless. This guy is obviously ill-informed, has an agenda about guns and spouts his holier-than-though opinion of why they are useless, and REFUSES to resolve his ignorance on firearms. That's why he's a twatwaffle. Edit: Nope, the reviewer Ben Kuchera is a massive troll. And I fell for it. gr8 b8 m8, i r8 8/8.
The most joy I've had in quite a while is watching someone in Hotdogs horseshoes and handgrenades figure out how to fire a desert eagle, ejecting the mag and then pulling the trigger and making him shit himself it was glorious to watch. But apparently that's not ok and I should have some form of PTSD
This is why UA-camrs and streamers are better reviewers in general. The UA-camr makes me want to buy the shit out of this game. And the polygon reviewer makes me want to get the game so I can shoot myself in it and then irl.
Not commenting on the quality of either review, but it is weird to me that you count the quality of a reviewer based on how much they make you want to buy something. That's not the goal of reviewing, that's the goal of advertising.
Haughington I think the point he's trying to get across is that reviewers are supposed to focus on the game. If it's fun, show how much fun you have with it. If it isn't, show how disappointed you are. Don't think the Polygon reviewer made him want to shoot himself because he didn't like the game, he made him want to shoot himself because all he did was go on a monologue about himself and his aversion to guns and try to politicize the review, and that's a sentiment I can relate to.
Haughington It is interesting that you noted that. I think reviews are a good indicator of if you want to buy something, but not in terms of how much they are explicitly trying to entice you (then they would just be really long advertisements, haha - though some of them honestly are >_>). But unlike most advertisments, a good, honest review gives you a much better sense of if you actually want the product, rather than a sense that you are *convinced* you want it.
AlibifortheAfterlife That's a very good point as well, a very clear delineation between a 'good' and 'bad' review. Dotting the review with opinion runs somewhat counter to the purpose of review. Yet, as Dunkey noted, you must understand your reviewers biases and beliefs when you watch their reviews. But don't me wrong: a reviewer whose beliefs don't line up with my own is not a bad reviewer. In fact, he's already in the green because his different views offer me immediate insight into a new perspective I didn't have prior. But when the reviewer is more focused on pushing his personal narrative - and using the review as a vehicle for solely that, it, more likely than not, takes away from the quality of the review.
That's an odd question. It doesn't matter if you like them or not; they exist. Best case scenario: we abolish guns in the west and China is merciful when they're our overlords.
ABurntMuffin Hah. You're an idiot. The reason China doesnt invade us isn't because civilians have _guns_ - Rather, they don't invade us because: -they have 1 super carrier. We have 11. -Both us and China have nukes. -No super power wants a war with another. Its bad for everyone. -Our defense budget is about 3 times theirs. -We have nuclear powered subs that carry tactical nuclear warheads that roam at will, undetected, and potentially off the coast of chinese cities -War with your biggest trade partner is bad for business. Get over yourself. Uncle Hank from down the street owning an AR-15 is _not_ what's stopping your ass from licking chinese boots. Arguably, America's Navy and ICBM's are.
I almost had my fucking house burned down when I was 11, and had nightmares for years and refused to go to sleep until 1 am passed(that's when it happened), and I'm embarassed to even consider that I would have PTSD. PTSD is a serious condition, and its pathetic people like this are claiming to have it. I have dealt with legitimate trauma in the past and dont claim to have it because PTSD is a bigger deal than my problems. I cant believe how this guy lacks balls so much. Its honestly sad how some people are
Love the complete dissonance between Polygon and someone trying to have fun. He doesn't bother you with his life story, or whatever bullshit philosophical problem he has with the game, he just plays it and has fun. He doesn't bother to really try to get the exact names of the guns right, he just goes in and has fun. That's exactly what you should do with that game. Have fun. He doesn't pussyfoot around the guns either, he just goes full auto, and you can see he's really enjoying himself. EDIT (11/5/22): As someone who has become both a gun and VR headset owner within the last few months, I can say that H3 is a ton of fun. Highly recommend it.
We don't give a shit about Mr Polygon's life, we want to hear about the game! If he is scared of even VR guns, then take him away and bring someone else in! It's like people can't think anymore, sheesh.
@Frederick Röders It may be a free country, but keep in mind that Polygon is supposed to be a 'Game Journalism' platform. This over-sensitive pansy is scared of fake, virtual guns, and gets triggered by them to the point of completely disregarding and ignoring the game's mechanics, and never even discuss what the object of the game is - during Polygon's *review* of the game... I won't get into a rant about game journalism since it's all old news now, but if you direct your attention to this video, Polygon's DooM (2016) Gameplay, as well as... The Cuphead """""gameplay""""" (God help you if you decide to watch all 20 minutes of it), then you'll understand why everyone makes fun of them.
Every year, thousands of spoon-related crimes are committed with hundreds of lives lost. End the madness now, demand background checks for Dixie disposable untensils #scoopoutcrime
You laugh now, but just wait, it wont be long before UK judges and politicians declare 'Who needs spoons anyway? We need common sense spoon control to tackle rising spoon attacks.."
Beuwen The Dragon They decided to ban butter knives because a couple kids began to hack eachother up with machetes. The lack of logic and democracy in this ruling makes me somewhat afraid of the U.K.
Another video polygon disabled the rating and comments. That already tells a lot about how they handle criticisms. Why cant they just hire proper peopple to do these videos?
To be fair, their comment sections get invaded by lots of trolls who just shitpost all over the place, drowning out any valid rebuttals or counter points people may try to bring up. You may strongly disagree with what Polygon puts out, but if people are going to turn it into a full on meme shitfest, they will most likely shut it down for that reason. All that said, it is also true that the staff of Polygon can't handle criticism.
Game 'journalists' are just a bunch of wash out hack bloggers that couldn't get into actual news media. They don't and never did care about video games, and it shows whenever they are forced to actually play one.
ugghhh...i just....ugh, this is the worst. "ahh, its loud. im afraid. waaaah"....i know this is supposed to be funny, but knowing this guy exists has just put me in a bad mood now.
James Doakes saying his wife's son is just a shorter way of saying it's not his son what you just said was basically the same thing but less funny since you were trying to correct him.
Holy shit! It's Jesus Christ! I have so many questions but I realize that you're probably extremely busy basking in eternal, formless bliss so I'll be brief: Increasingly, HMO's (health maintenance organizations) find themselves wrestling with the moral implications of their allocation of resources. By what guideline-or guidelines-should they decide between investing in more preventive services and investing in more life-prolonging technology? Or ... How much of their money should they redirect from physical health to mental health?
I'm torn. Because it's fine not to like guns. And if you are afraid of them then please stay far away from one. And I also I think a lot of people are wayyyyyy to causal with real weapon safety. But holy fuck man it's just a video game not a journey down the Mekong river in NAM. WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU GETTING PTSD'd by a vidya game?
I don't learn much about guns with keyboard and mouse. If you handed me an AR-15 of any configuration right now, I would have to find out, how the thing works beyond aim and pull the trigger. VR can teach me many things, the only thing it does not teach, is how much actual force it takes to flip that switch, pull that mechanism or compensate for that recoil. What it will never teach me, is how dangerous the firearm can be, if I am careless or even with malicious intent. From my personal experience, experiencing a thing in VR (or even in a traditional game on a screen) has a tendency to lower my inhibitions towards the real life equivalent. That's no PTSD, it's an expression of a state of mind. I can imagine, that using a firearm in VR can cause a weird feeling, if you already experience a certain ambivalence against them. I find it important to express such feelings, especially in our sensationalist internet society. If more people were able to reflect on their own insecurities, make themselves aware of why they feel the way they do and what they don't like about the situation they are in, then we would't have to send so many young people on a journey down the Mekong river in NAM over and over again.
Off topic, but its really cool to see how ridiculously far H3VR has come in the last 5 years from being a simple tech demo with like 5 guns to having over 400 in game guns with varying mechanical differences and multiple game modes. Hats off to Anton for being such a persistent developer!
Ok, I can understand a reviewer talking about personal experiences in a review, since that can be a good way to get across how powerful the experience of playing a game is. However, this is a firing range simulator. How does something as simple as a firing range simulator inspire the reviewer to discuss his childhood experiences and fear of guns? Why is he even reviewing this game in the first place if he has such a huge problem with firearms that even using a virtual one is enough to apparently make him have PTSD flashbacks?
He thought guns were simple. Just point and shoot. And this made him look like an idiot. So he did what he has been trained to do his whole life had play the victim.
Most likely the reviewer was scheduled to review that game and there was no chance to swap with someone else so he did what he did. I remember one of the gaming magazines in my country had a review of a kinect or some other motion capture thingie zombie slasher game from a reviewer who wasn't into horror games and she comically called out the editor in chief for making her play a game that keeps scaring her shitless. It was a positive review and she really described the emotinal rollercoaster experience of slashing zambiez with bare hands while getting jumpscared constantly while slashing zabiez with BARE FUCKING HANDS!!!
I've shot multiple AR-15's in my day, and out of all the rifles I've shot (besides a little 22 rifle) have had more kick than an AR-15. It doesn't have that much kick, and it's a fairly stable and easy to use gun. This guy is a quintessential liberal pussy.
A journalist's first day at Polygon: "Hey boss, any games to review?" "'Review'? That isn't what we do here! Go whine about how much of a loser every gamer is!"
I don't watch a game review to get to know someone's traumatic childhood. But to know all about the game. The only thing he says about the game is what anybody can guess from static screenshots
You know, in regards to the Doom video I argued against the people defending Polygon and saying gamers were exclusionary. I've changed my mind. I'm exclusionary now. Go away Polygon. Go away and never come back.
*Puts pistol magazine into an M4* *Puts Hind sight into M4 mag Slot* These are the kinds of people who are advocating against the second amendment, people. Do not listen to them, because they know absolutely nothing about firearms. To be honest, I was surprised he even knew where the trigger was…
RazorGryphon7x7 living in Australia I can say that you Americans have an unhealthy obsession with guns, no wonder why you have a school shooting every month.
This is the equivalent of me going to a restaurant to review their food, then spending the whole time talking about my life and how the restaurant reminds me of when my mother slammed a plate against my face. "This ravioli, yeah... Just like mama used to cook... I once got one stuck in my eye and she had to pull it out with a fork" If you are going to get PTSD from a game, THEN DON'T PLAY IT AND SEND SOMEONE ELSE TO REVIEW IT, GODDAMMIT.
"this was a machine precision crafted to do damage to other objects" you mean like a chainsaw, shovel, shaving razor, cheese grater, toe nail clippers, or a hammer? why is polygon still in business
i do have to say that it was a bit odd. it's just his opinion. now, i will say that polygon is a sh** website with many extreme leftist, but first: neither left or right are good in my opinion and second: not everyone at polygon are radical sjw's. however, having it in a review is a bit strange. if it was just something on a forum then maybe people wouldn't hate it so much
2:26-2:32 He spent a whole six seconds talking about the game before the Polygon legal team poked him with a flaming stick to get him back to the SIGNIFICANTLY more important politics talk
I don't mean to say that game journalists are all soft-handed upper-middle class pansies, but if picking up an imaginary gun and pointing it at an imaginary paper target is the scariest, most traumatic moment of your life...
holy fuck, unless it said "Polygon" in the title I would have thought that the other part was satire, is this what "video game journalism" is these days?
And all I can think of is back when I played the original Soldier of Fortune, I made a little game out of how many limbs I could blow off a character with a shotgun while their death animation was still playing.
That Guy Well, people who use guns care. A clip and magazine are very different. Like the clip shows the rounds and usually pressed down into the rifle, for example the M1 Garand. The magazine on the other hand, is usually slid in from the bottom or where ever the weapons opening for a magazine is located. The Magazine is also mostly closed in from the sides, unlike the clip.
RC OOM- 1576 Battle Droid Pvt oh lord no. A clip loads rounds into the magazine. Like when when you load a kar98, the bullets go in but the clip is pulled out
What do you mean I was supposed to drink it? I thought I was supposed to bitch on how I have traumatic childhood memories of my parents doing laundry and getting bleach stains on my "I hate fun" shirt.
Polygon - These virtual guns are depressing and unfun. Other guy - This could be really useful for training. *accidentally fires shot without magazine*. See? I forgot to clear the chamber. That could have saved life. This is awesome!
The word “assault rifle” isn’t political lol. Its a military term used to describe a time of firearm. Assault weapon is that idiotic political term you’re looking for
How can you guy's not mention Nick? He was completely the yin to Griffin's yang. They played so well off of each other and it doesn't feel the same without him.
The best thing about Polygon was Nick Robinson, but they fired him for having a relationship with a fan, citing "sexual harassment" even when the girl came out and said everything was consensual...
no, they need guns provided to them decades ago by american intelligence agencies to oppress other people i'm _sure_ all these salafi terrorist organisations were brave enough to commit a massive insurgency on their home countries without foreign support :)
This just perfectly highlights the political aspect of things. =Polygon= *timid *scared *triggered beyond belief *fumbling with the gun like an actual child *doesn't know anything about the gun like an actual child *spooked and instantly gets antsy *no fun =Gamer= *confidence *observant *easily operates weapon *has fun
I'm ... saddened . . .by the fact that someone so pathetic exists as that guy from Polygon. Like, It's a gun. yeah, for some people it's scary. But it's not sentient. It's not some monster under the bed. It's a tool. Like an axe, Like a knife. Like rope or even a car.
Although someone could easily point out that guns, unlike EVERY other item you listed, have ONE purpose:to kill.Using them for sport shooting or entertainment is a backup function that they came to have.Their original one is killing.Axes, knives, ropes and especially cars all have other functions that overshadow their killing application.Guns dont. Plus,if we re being honest, sure,ALL of them can kill, but not as efficiently and quickly as a gun can.A can can run over people but not from a few hundred meters away,or as quickly. That's the arguement quite a few anti gun people support and its not wrong.
Main issue here is that Even if all the Law-abiding people disarm. Criminals won't. There's some fairyland expectation that removing guns from the good guys automatically means the bad guys won't get any. When in fact that's not how it works at all. Like, I've seen it personally. People who should have Zero access to guns can , and have ,gotten them *faster and more reliably* Than people who have a clean record . Now, By all means I do think the world should probably chill the fuck out. But relying on Politicians to to wave a magic stick and make the world better won't cut it. I don't understand the logic of someone who thinks the same government *That STILL hasn't fixed the toxic tapwater in Flint, MI * is competent enough to handle the lives and safety of the entire nation. Here's some other things the Government, as a whole, lacks even the bare-minimum understanding of : The living wage of an average worker. The availability of jobs that pay well enough to live on . Literally anything involving firearms ( half of them just throw out buzzwords and wait for applause ) . The importance of our troops. The value of a human life ( not fetal, But human lives in general ) . The fact that overtaxation cannot make people wealthy ( In fact, Overtaxation is part of why rome fell ). So, Until we get some competent people in Washington ; Until we have Workers, Doctors and Scientists in senate chairs as opposed to career politicians ; Until the Thieves, fools , and assholes on both sides of this " two party" system are gone ... I won't trust them with a ham sandwich. Much less my safety, or the safety of those around me.
Absolutely.US government has proven time and again(like most other governments) that they re incapable and unwilling to solve real problems, and would much prefer to do anything that would increase their chances of being reelected, like tackling hot topics that arent a real problem to begin with. However,to some,ANY kind of gun control would be seen as a violation of their rights, even if it makes sense and is needed. As you said, many psychos get their hands on weapons and gone into killing sprees. Obviously, universally banning weapons is hurting legal, legit owners far more than it does criminals, who will find them anyway. However,I am fairly certain that the fact that SO MANY weapons are legally available leads to many more available guns in general, some of which might end up in the hands of REALLY bad people.Pretty much no one announces their intentions to kill and having a weapon to do so makes the ONE time this person will be out of control far more dangerous than if they did so with, say,a knife.Even if they re not a psycho, sometimes I think that some people are far too willing to use a gun because its available and because they CAN use it. As a European citizen,I cant buy a weapon or own one apart from hunting rifles. As others have pointed out, this doesnt make Europe a safe haven, far from it.Personally I am unsure as to which one is better, having firearms be legal or not. However,I believe that having people buy guns to counter criminals having guns,is more of a band aid than an actual solution.Far more effort should be directed to making sure criminals don't get guns, and finding out who sells them and where they come from. And the solution to this is,as you so well put it,to have ACTUALLY able people in positions of power, who will try to solve those issues rather than hunt political power.
Back Up I agree. The recreational value of guns is largely bigger than their killing value in peaceful countries. And I am aware that guns aren't the leading cause of deaths. What I am saying ,is that, unlike those other tools, guns are MADE to be lethal.A person with a hammer or knife will be stopped relatively easily while a person with a rifle is far more capable of killing a multitude of people in a short time span. I am reasonably sure that if we check how many deaths PER INCIDENT,guns will be higher than any other tool. There are far fewer deaths from guns because hammers and knives are far more easily available and much easier to use for someone untrained. However,no one will say that a rifle is less lethal than a knife. Its just that a there are far fewer shootings than there are stabbings etc, even if most shootings have a bigger victim count per incident than a stabbing spree. What i am saying is that guns shouldn't be banned(since that would mostly hurt good people with zero drive to murder) but to regulate them enough so that insane or violent people don't get them as easily since the kill count from a gun spree would easily be much larger than that of a knife rampage(due to the gun being a far more efficient killing tool).
+cyclopsdias Knives were made with the intent to kill long before guns existed. Many things are "made" to be lethal, and many things are lethal simply due to their design, their intent being completely irrelevant. As for being stopped more easy, no, not really. The advantage guns confer is range, rate of fire, and the ability to make armor relatively useless. You will die if you get a hammer slammed into your skull just like you would if I shot you in the head, and statistically, the former happens more even in a country with more guns than people. Nope. You're free to look it up; While handguns (Read: The most low powered kind of gun) are the most used for violent crimes, they get outclassed by mere worker's tools. Shootings are also irrelevant; If you care about preventing deaths, the incidents that account for less than 100 a year aren't worth considering. Also, they are regulated even in the states, you fucking moron. If you're proven insane by a court of law, you can't get them, and you get a background check when you buy one regardless of your state. You cannot buy a gun if you are a felon. Does that stop them? No, you fucking dope, and why would it? If I wanna murder a dozen people, the law is not going to stop me from acquiring the means to do so. When the laws become restrictive, it affects only the innocent citizen, and given the number of situations where guns have been used to defend someone's life according to the FBI, you'd do a hell of a lot more harm by making it even slightly more difficult to acquire firearms than you would by just leaving it the fuck alone.
I'm keeping this video an open dialog. Unlike Polygon's actual video, comments are open and will stay open (and I will accept all comments marked as spam (Unless they are spam)).
DELETE ME I AM SPAM.
Honestly just wanted to say I like that youre not going to close comments due to arguments,
Can you at least link to Polygon's video. I would prefer to see that than some annoying jacksepticeye-like screaming idiot.
Why do you sound like jericho?
One, he is not a screaming idiot, this video was well made to contrast political virtue signaling versus just enjoying games. Two, the polygon video is shit. Three, it is already linked, so you just wanted an opportunity to shit on the youtuber who actually showed us how to have fun in the game.

:D
So, he hates guns and the gun sounded realistic - to him - when it fired and made him uncomfortable....
....then surely this is a success for VR?
10/10, would trigger again.

Polygon: "Hey, you with the apparent post traumatic stress disorder and extreme distaste for firearms, I've got the perfect game for you to review"
I like to think their chief has a sense of humor.
nah theyre just retarded.
They are probably all like this, and this guy was the least damaged one of the bunch.
@Trantor The Troll >libtard transclit
One joke.
this game should be listed as psychological horror. that guy seemed pretty shook.
I was shocked when i heard 8 random unannounced and unseen fireworks and they weren’t listed as psychological horror
No, he would be traumatized by minecraft...
It's only scary for people who don't know guns
That guy from polygon makes me look like a highly trained weapons specialist
PaineTrain Guy makes a physically incapable fat fuck like me look like a Soldier of Fortune...
that guy from polygon makes everyone look like a highly trained weapons specialist
It makes me look like someone that has dealt with guns for year. And I've never been close to a gun, let alone hold one.
PaineTrain I feel like I need to compliment the name, "The Paine Train" with the guy i. your picture being Thomas Paine.
George Frideric Handel yeah I took one of those political compass quizzes and got the same score Thomas Paine would have gotten, so I took the mantle of the Paine Train lol

So what? Having perfect grammar doesn't automatically qualify you to talk about anything other than how to write. You can still make a good point with a couple mistakes in your post.
not if you're 2 year degree is in something useful like welding or Information Technology.

Technically a hammer is neither precision crafted nor designed to do damage. Unless we're talking sledgehammers, in which case fair point.

the whole point of the virgin vs chad meme is to overexaggerate the wacky.
Tucker boner is not at all a chad, he constantly makes jokes about how much of a bitch he is and how bad he is at videogames

Polygon - Praises the Mad Max game while they play it with the devs, then shit on it in their review.
I bet the devs didn't pay them enough money to get a good review.

Not a single gamer works at Polygon, it's simple.
Deborah Lancaster That doesn't surprise me one bit. Reminds me of the reporter that fired an AR15 at a range and claimed to have gotten PTSD from the experience. Doom is what really woke me up to Polygon's stupidity.
It's really annoying how *everything* is politicized nowadays.
He had to have been faking it to push his agenda. I mean he's a fucking adult after all. We had just about all types of guys in the army, from small to huge and from brave to timid, and no one so much as frowned at shooting their rifles for the first time. Well. You are 20% more likely to die of gunwounds when you have a gun in your house. Weather that number is so high because of burglers shooting back or because of suicides I can not tell you, but you are statistically in more danger with a gun in the housw than without.

Your average weeb Hunting=Killing, guns were not made to target shoot dumbass.
well....history has proven that almost everything that was invented had as short-term or long term, indirectly or directly, a simple goal: eliminate opposition.
A Lonely Weeaboo ever heard of a SPEAR?
Let's get the guy who doesn't like guns to review a game about guns
I bet that it won't be biased.
It's Polygon, how else would their agenda be pushed?
Sam Rader and thus, Gamer Gate was born.
It's not biased. Cause it's not a review. It takes like 5 seconds of using Google to find the article and realize that the fucking thing _isn't a review._
I bet this guy gets a heart attack every time he uses a bar of soap in the shower.

"Well, there's this game about guns.... but instead of playing the game or addressing its merits or weaknesses in any way, let me ramble tearfully about the morality of firearms for a while."
Geez, what a sad sack.
Sad, but no sack.
One time we did Turkey Hunting and one of the NCOs hooked up the T-40 lmao
Imagine firing your M-4 at simulated turkeys when you suddenly see and hear an explosion just to look over and see your NCO firing a damn launcher
Nearly two years later, this still makes me laugh.
It seems so weird that this is two years old.
SteppupFoRetsam I just stumbled upon it today, and I fucking love it
Im just seeing this for the first time. Its still circulating. Polygon guy is dumb and cant understand guns so they frighten him.
Following up with the previous two, I actually just saw this as well. F'in gold. GOLD.
I remember seeing this in full chan one time I didn't know who made it. I originally thought the video was the same person doing satire. Oh boy I was wrong. Pleasantly surprised to find this video in my recommended list two years later
Have you seen the gameplay that polygon put up for doom? the guy playing was so god damn awful they had to close comments and disable likes.
Yep! I grabbed some highlights! ua-cam.com/video/7FD-uwu847Q/v-deo.html
hold on, do you mean people commenting were so vicious that they had to close comments? as far as I can tell someone's (lack of) skill at a video game isn't a problem...
if you watch the footage it looks like whoever's playing has never played a game in their lives, and this is supposed to be promoting a fast-paced fps aimed at the more hardcore crowd. they are purportedly professionals, if you saw a movie trailer and it was clearly put together by someone who'd never edited a video before you'd probably be wondering "who let this guy do this, and why do they think this is good enough to show?"
Im waiting for the inevitable "BUT ITS SATIRE" from Ben of Polygon to save face.
"Guys, I was only pretending to be retarded!"
"I don't understand how guns work"
Literally a pipe, open on one end, hammer with spring on the other end. There, you now understand guns
And a bunch of explosive behind a chunk of metal for the ammo
throwing rocks made simpler.
Scott Taco Point end toward enemy, kill enemy. Seriously! Its how Nobunaga cut as big a swath through Japan, give commoners some guns and suddenly the rich elite lose their advantage.
+Box Tank!
Guns are the equalizers of our world. It doesn't matter who you are,
man or woman, rich or poor, a member of royalty or a peasant, you can still be killed by a gun.
For some reason the contrast between these two is just super funny for me
The background music really does it.
It is almost like he did it on purpose! ;)

Coty Lee It's almost as if that's the joke of the video....
My thoughts exactly
1969- Young men are asked to leave their country and homes to fight a war on the other side of the world
2017- "This VR game gave me PTSD!"

I agree, WW1, WW2, Korean War, Kongo War, literally any other war than Vietnam would have been better.
30 round assault clip magazine capable of dispensing 400 rocket propelled bullet grenades per half second
Watch out for that 30 magazine clip. And that underbarrel RPG. And be especially cautious of the chainsaw bayonet.
I'm what patch are they going to add the underbarrel chainsaw?
wait... underbarrel RPG... chainsaw bayonet...
are you coming up with new shit to add to the Warhammer 40k arsenal?
VintagePC's alike OMFG lol
Rocket propelled bullets are a thing but there rare and expensive
The moment he tried putting the iron sights where the magazine goes... Wtf man?!
yeah, I figure its one thing to take a moment to figure out where the safety is, but putting the sight there... I feel like I would be so embarrassed to make that mistake that I would blame the motion controls lol.
Then the Pistol mag...and the actual scope...and then the magazine...and then he...I'm done with society
@@ShyGuy2020 as am I, let's live far from people
I mean... I would've tried that as well, but probably from different reasons than the guy from the video
*inhales* YOU PULLED THE TRIGGER ON A GUN THAT YOU DID NOT EVEN KNOW WAS LOADED???? I'm sorry, but hearing that threw me through the roof.
Sir Strikes A Lot he was a child though. Childeren are stupid
aestre Even when I was a child, I knew, without my parents needing to tell me that:
GUN: KILLING MACHINE IN THE WRONG HANDS
DON'T TOUCH KILLING MACHINE = NOBODY DIES BECAUSE I WAS BEING RETARDED
You may have known that but that does not change the fact that tonnes of kids die as they are unsupervised around guns or are able to find and obtain a parents gun.
For that I am lucky i wastaught gun discipline when I was 6 saved me a lot of trouble growing up surrounded by guns.
to be fair you're parents are equally stupid as his, if you have a gun and kids there should be a 0% chance of the kids ever holding that gun, I live by myself and I keep my guns in a biometric safe which I keep hidin
Omg, this made me laugh xD
This Polygon dude is literally afraid of virtual guns?
+Cirlex well you know what they say
people who cant see the difference between reality and videogames end up becoming school shooters
that polygon dude must be one fucked up kid eh?
Eh, some people get unnerved about different things.
I don't like spiders. No real reason, I just don't like them.
Dog Face If it was my job.
+Max Simeck if it's your job but you're gonna give a biased review, you have an option to not review it and leave it to a colleague.
***** Is it really biased? He just said it made him uncomfortable. Amnesia makes me uncomfortable. I have every right to say that.
Ben "Rape is Funny" Kuchera leads us all on a maudlin journey into his traumatic childhood, giving us just a brief insight into how he became such an awful human being.
Wait give me the context please
What he says can be valid, he just doesnt like guns. What i dont understand is why the hell would they let this guy do the review lmao. That's like forcing a soldier with severe ptsd to play cod and give his opinions.
BT -7274 if your job is to review video games, and you are uncomfortable with guns, you shouldn’t be in that profession.
HOLY CRAP SCREW THIS GAME LOOK AT YOUR USERNAME. SUP BT! I'm on a hot streak
Well with Polygon it is less about reviewing games, and more about making a moral virtue signalling grandstand for thunderous applause from the ultra Lefty SJW types...
Except a soldier has a legitimate condition, and even then he'd have valuable insight gained from knowledge, so at the very least, you'd gain a tragic, but eye opening realization about the genre
This guy is just a fuckin wuss
They actually use vr simulations and tech similar to what a "realD 3d" theater uses in therapy for PTSD related to war. When exposure therapy is appropriate, if course.
the dude philosophizing about guns and trying to act smart and edgy actually made me groan and say "oh my fucking God" out loud
Same. Shit was cringy af.

I can't even tell if the Moonlight Sonata is added for comical effect or if this is how they'd present it.
Thanks for sparing me their video though. Most enjoyable contrast between a irrational fear and someone who likes fun.
I added the music for the effect. Thank you for watching!
+Kitten Fiddlers plase make a series of it
I had EXACTLY the same question.
I KNEW it had to be a joke, but honestly, at this point... can we be sure?!
I don't know If I'm disappointed or relieved it was added for effect ^^
Holy shit, I really honestly though this was satire. I even went to Polygon, and upon seeing the horribly written article, still thought "the video can't be real."
Then I clicked play, and started hearing about how the guy held a gun as a kid, while playing the game of jam-the-handle-into-the-magazine-well.
What the fuck even is Polygon....
A website written by English majors who couldn't get a job at an actual news sites.
Decker Shado love the reviews decker
Decker Shado dude I love your reviews
Decker Shado Decker you are amazing
Decker Shado apparently an anti gun, left leaning turd hole no longer worthy of gamers' time. To hell with them, their political ideology pushing, thinly veiled propaganda, and that feeble clown that created that initial video.
worker 1: sir, we gotta take down this building to build a hospital
worker 2: alright, i'll just get the wrecking ball
This fucknut: But that's a machine precision crafted to cause damage to other objects.
worker 3: welp! let's get the dynamite instead.
Trife dynamite: too loud, therefore too spoopy ;.(
Decietful Cake yeah I guess
Let’s just politely state our point of view in a civilized manner to the building’s structural supports, they should see reason and collapse themselves

YOU'RE A FUCKING GAME JOURNALIST WEBSITE, NOT AN INFOMERCIAL ABOUT GUN CONTROL!
“”””””””journalism””””””””
A lot of people lost respect for Polygon a long time ago.
They tend to be absolute shit at their job.
ThatOneFriendlyDude they've move toward comedy, and they do a good job at it. Monster factory and We Fought A Zoo are good. Stuff like this not so much
What are you doing commenting on a UA-cam video, you fucking amateur? I bet you didn't even get the proper certifications to do this.
A perfect example of a gamer talking about a game versus an aging bleeding heart hipster who doesn't like games and would rather pontificate about his personal feelings about scary guns.
He said he likes guns in games and fantasy settings....
Alex Haines was that Nerd3 I'm pretty sure that was nerd3
Noah Nevet, that was absolutely NerdCubed.
"I was trying to fire me gun, but the ammo fell out..." *BLAM*
that was a great moment.
Polygon: this is a machine I'm holding precision made to do damage.
Me: ... That's a vr controller
I dunno... wii-motes can do a shit ton of damage

Lemme guess, the Dean Takahashi review? Cause that mf has been shown to play games worse than DSP, *and* is the cursed Cuphead review.

HOLY SHIT

He got paid for this
Bill Anderson Have you seen the Polygon gameplay of Doom?
I mean if I was this shooken up about guns id probably do the same
No, he tried to put the carry handle inside the mag well.
AlibifortheAfterlife
That's a very good point as well, a very clear delineation between a 'good' and 'bad' review.
TYGR115 I hate people like you in the comment section...
I love that you switch between a video of a guy going through ptsd. And then 5 seconds later you just hear "Bro lets go full auto."

So everyone is supposed to like guns then?
That's an odd question. It doesn't matter if you like them or not; they exist.
Best case scenario: we abolish guns in the west and China is merciful when they're our overlords.
TheChaotiCake But why use a video review about a game to spout your political opinions?
ABurntMuffin Hah. You're an idiot. The reason China doesnt invade us isn't because civilians have _guns_ - Rather, they don't invade us because:
-they have 1 super carrier. We have 11.
-Both us and China have nukes.
-No super power wants a war with another. Its bad for everyone.
-Our defense budget is about 3 times theirs.
-We have nuclear powered subs that carry tactical nuclear warheads that roam at will, undetected, and potentially off the coast of chinese cities
-War with your biggest trade partner is bad for business.
Get over yourself. Uncle Hank from down the street owning an AR-15 is _not_ what's stopping your ass from licking chinese boots.
Arguably, America's Navy and ICBM's are.

right, the man should've said; 'precision crafted to kill people by firing aerodynamic lead cut-outs'
A toaster fits that definition too. It cooks bread by heating it, thus doing damage. A FUCKING TOASTER
Is that the same guy who got PTSD from shooting a real AR at a rifle range?
Wat?!?
@Luke Genness what a pussy
His 100 testosterone firing at full cylinders.
Its honestly sad how some people are
@@ChickentNug Bro, that's PTSD. Like actual PTSD. PTSD isn't strictly a combat thing.

Highly recommend it.
the difference (in my mind) is between people who live in the moment and overanalyze everything to shit.
We don't give a shit about Mr Polygon's life, we want to hear about the game! If he is scared of even VR guns, then take him away and bring someone else in! It's like people can't think anymore, sheesh.
THIS, i agree.

Game journalists never actually seem to be capable of playing games. It’s embarrassing.
Soo Kim that makes too much sense, so naturally, they don't.
*ahem*
Controversy = Views = Money
Conclusion: Controversy = Money
Polygon doesn't understand games
Given that they gave Dark Souls 3 it's lowest review score, yeah I'd say you're right.
Scores need to go away and get replaced with two binaries: "Did I have fun?" and "Would other people I know have fun?"
+Chris White "stop telling us to git gud, it's the game's fault for being too hard"

Don't like guns? You aren't getting into Heaven.
Holy shit! It's Jesus Christ! I have so many questions but I realize that you're probably extremely busy basking in eternal, formless bliss so I'll be brief:
Increasingly, HMO's (health maintenance organizations) find themselves wrestling with the moral implications of their allocation of resources. By what guideline-or guidelines-should they decide between investing in more preventive services and investing in more life-prolonging technology? Or ... How much of their money should they redirect from physical health to mental health?
Jesus Christ it's true. You said it yourself in Mark, IIRC
TheCrakp0t , #GodIsDead
Jesus Christ
Sun Wukong got into heaven, and all he had was a cudgel, the ability to turn into a tree, armor, and flight.
As it said in the bible 'Jesus Crust falls down from heaven to Earth with a AK74 on his back'.
It's VR so clearly it's our obligation to no longer be able to distinguish between that and reality
if you die in vr you die in the real world
I don't learn much about guns with keyboard and mouse.
Cause Ben Kuchera is a freaking WUSS
I agree, but in the same vein I'm not so sure I can care all that much about him having the opinion he has.
Polygon: "A gun in a home makes me feel less safe, not more."
Jericho: "...and then we're gonna take it _off_ safety"
So Ironic
If the safety makes you feel less safe, then it's failed it's job. Fuck it.
I can't believe that the game reviewer from POLYGON lets his wife's boyfriend control his thoughts.
DON'T TALK TO ME OR MY WIFE'S BOYFRIEND AGAIN!
Why is he even reviewing this game in the first place if he has such a huge problem with firearms that even using a virtual one is enough to apparently make him have PTSD flashbacks?
he's
triggered
Literally...
He thought guns were simple. Just point and shoot. And this made him look like an idiot. So he did what he has been trained to do his whole life had play the victim.
gingervampireFTW lol don't give this man ptsd well not militarily ptsd his is please talk softly in direct contact
I thought Polygon's reviews were satire
Is it actually?? This review looks legitimately unreal.
I feel like it has to be bait, with how high the music was jacked.
M33M the music was edited in by whoever uploaded this video. The original doesn't have music
The Polygon youtube channel is satire and it's beautiful.
Wait is is satire? It sure doesn’t feel like it.
"The recoil bruised my shoulder"
I've shot multiple AR-15's in my day, and out of all the rifles I've shot (besides a little 22 rifle) have had more kick than an AR-15. It doesn't have that much kick, and it's a fairly stable and easy to use gun. This guy is a quintessential liberal pussy.
He should have taken the carry handle out of the magazine well first.
A journalist's first day at Polygon:
"Hey boss, any games to review?"
"'Review'? That isn't what we do here! Go whine about how much of a loser every gamer is!"
I don't watch a game review to get to know someone's traumatic childhood. But to know all about the game. The only thing he says about the game is what anybody can guess from static screenshots
You know, in regards to the Doom video I argued against the people defending Polygon and saying gamers were exclusionary.
I've changed my mind. I'm exclusionary now. Go away Polygon. Go away and never come back.
*Puts pistol magazine into an M4*

These are the kinds of people who are advocating against the second amendment, people. Do not listen to them, because they know absolutely nothing about firearms.
To be honest, I was surprised he even knew where the trigger was…
Gabriel Victor the point is they have 0 experince with a gun other than "oh dats skawey. Ban dat evol kiwwing masheen"
Fuck, even somebody that probably never touched a gun before could at least know that a Pistol Magazine doesn't fits in a M4 Mag Slot.
Or that the grip sight is not a bloody M4 magazine.

I thought it was satire, is it not?
No, this was a real polygon "review" of the game unfortunately.

7 years later, and this video STILL makes me laugh.
And all I can think of is back when I played the original Soldier of Fortune, I made a little game out of how many limbs I could blow off a character with a shotgun while their death animation was still playing.
It's a MAGAZINE! A CLIP IS DIFFERENT! Get it right!
Who cares
That Guy Well, people who use guns care. A clip and magazine are very different. Like the clip shows the rounds and usually pressed down into the rifle, for example the M1 Garand. The magazine on the other hand, is usually slid in from the bottom or where ever the weapons opening for a magazine is located. The Magazine is also mostly closed in from the sides, unlike the clip.
RC OOM- 1576 Battle Droid Pvt I've actually been wandering about thafor a while. Thank you!

Other guy - This could be really useful for training. *accidentally fires shot without magazine*. See? I forgot to clear the chamber. That could have saved life. This is awesome!
legit this video has sold me more on H3 than any other advertisement
Polygon is honestly a joke. You’d think they’re Owned by cosmopolitan by now
The word “assault rifle” isn’t political lol. Its a military term used to describe a time of firearm. Assault weapon is that idiotic political term you’re looking for
Zatharos but it firs 9001 rounds per sefond
Zatharos ya isn't it a select fire battle round chambered rifle fed by removable magazine?
AR stands for ArmaLite rifle... not assault rifle. The first 'assault rifle' was created by ArmaLite xD
No. AR stands for Assault Rifle. The first assault rifle was the STG44. Sturmgewehr 44, which literally means Storm Rifle or Assault Rifle.
Instant Muffin He's talking about when the news or politicians talk about AR15's.
The best thing about Polygon is Justin and Griffin's Monster Factory. I wish they made their own channel.
RealMetalGaming you can always watch my brother, my brother, and me
SERIOUSLY. I wish the McElroys would just break away and start their own channel so I wouldn't have to feel guilty every time I go to Polygon.
How can you guy's not mention Nick? He was completely the yin to Griffin's yang. They played so well off of each other and it doesn't feel the same without him.
lmao polygon canned him for having the audacity to be awkward when speaking to a female he was interested in.
The best thing about Polygon was Nick Robinson, but they fired him for having a relationship with a fan, citing "sexual harassment" even when the girl came out and said everything was consensual...
Is Ben Kuchera narrating his own funeral?
+The Ball One could only wish... Ben sucks.
"It made my ears ring!"
then he should've turned down the freaking volume. or maybe the ringing is ingame audio.
Maybe he shouldn't shove his head into the model
Matias how is this slug of a person even capable of feeling tinnitus? I feel like he would literally be on the floor balling if he actually had it
But can you dab in-game
KakaCarrotCake
you go first. if it works im right behind you. you can trust me. im a trustful person.
Serious
It's VR. There's literally no VR game where you can't.
Asking the real questions
With VR, you can dab in EVERY game
Oh yeah, I can Death and Bullets in this game
Make sure no one tells him about those in Syria and Iraq needing something other than words to be free.
It's pretty sad that words don't suffice those, is it not?
no, they need guns provided to them decades ago by american intelligence agencies to oppress other people
i'm _sure_ all these salafi terrorist organisations were brave enough to commit a massive insurgency on their home countries without foreign support :)
@@kristobaz2474 It's like you're the Polygon dude in the video.
This just perfectly highlights the political aspect of things.
=Polygon=

I'm ... saddened . . .by the fact that someone so pathetic exists as that guy from Polygon.
Back Up
I agree.
+cyclopsdias
Knives were made with the intent to kill long before guns existed.
"Hey, full auto! Do it!"
And that's how I found a new best friend
