They handle different as there alot stiffer, they accelerate and break harder, there so much fun but you will know it after a long ride in your back and legs especially, that's just to do with the more aggressive seating position. I highly recommend getting one.
Z650 is my first bike, had it for about a year and a half. It's great all around, but I'd love to get a CBR650R. Still comfy with more zip and a buttery i4? Plus better wind protection AND more annoying oil changes??? Sounds pretty great for the most part.

Sadly 600s have been neglected for some time now, when your litre bikes aren’t much heavier than your 600s and have far more power and tech it kind of reduces them to be glorified trainers for those looking to ride litre bikes without looping them down the road.

One thing matter too, here in europe, sooooo much radar and stuff to moderate speed, i m 100% following. Rather get an excellent road bike not too powerfull, that i can enjoy, than beeing frustrated on a 1000 RSV4 with hurting back and not even beeing able to leave first gear when having fun... Tuono is perfect for that and my bro went with RS cuz he still like racy position more. But honestly the 800 brutale Rosso is lurking at me!
I have a Tuono 660 and it’s my first bike. I love everything about it, but I’ve only done about 1200 miles and I already want faster bike like a 600 super sport or liter bike. Maybe I’ll go for the RSV4. I don’t care what Yammy says. 4 cylinders will always be better than 2.
600 cc is way more relevant than liter bikes. If you're talking about usable power on the streets. I currently have a little Z400, but I had the FZ07 in 2014 and put 21,000 kms in a year and a half. I've also had the KLX250SM after that, a 1977 TS185 2 stroke before that, a little 49cc Honda Dio scooter, and am actually adding a Royal Enfield 350 Meteor as a second bike in like a week. 600cc inline 4 might not be your cup of tea, but they are super relevant due to insurance prices and power ratio. I agree full fairing bikes are uglier, but they also deflect wind more and blow the doors off 700cc twins. They will walk away with such ease as soon as you're at 80kmph compared to a twin with 100ccs more.
Coming from the guy with 6 bikes to choose from and the money for track days, I can’t say I agree with your opinion. Most people have 1 bike and want to experience the power of a 600 and are willing to deal with the uncomfortable aspects. That’s the whole reason the WRX is so popular. Are there far more comfortable cars out there? Yes. Are the average WRX buyers taking them to a track regularly? No. But people *want* that sports car feel it can provide at a great price, and it’s the obvious choice for someone who’s only going to own one car. NGL, Yammy seems pretty out of touch these days. Preaches “get a slow bike” but then rides 600’s and liter bikes on the track regularly, and fires his turbo hyabusa down the highway. Yeah, I’m sure for him it’s a no brainer to have a comfy bike when he has access an arsenal of two wheeled missiles in the same garage he can use any time, and regularly does.
Well, to be fair. 600s never every were intended for street use. They were homologated race bikes. Even more than 1000cc sport bikes Makes sense that it doesn't make any sense on road
Fortunately I ride an old 2003 Aprilia sl1000 falco with a performance chip and cans...All the power of a 750 but vtwin, hybrid riding position and cheap ass insurance, not to mention the bulletproof 60 degree rotax engine. Highly recommend! 😁
I think yes! I have a Tuono 660, I added the quick shifter and the IMU for like $500. The only thing is the elephant in the room. It is a dog in second gear and between 5,000 and 6,000 RPM. I am hopping after the warranty is up I can update the mapping and lose the flat spot. Anyhoo I just keep it between 6,000 and 10,000 and it is fine.
In Sweden it's almost impossible to legally ride a supersport on the street because insurance is mandatory and it's practically impossible to find an insurance company willing to insure one
Arguably, DOHC inline fours were ALWAYS overkill for the streets, in every displacement, and including a lot of iconic bikes from the Big Four. Twins and singles for the streets, as Harley-Davidson, Triumph and others had long tried to do. The bikes coming out these days, including the Aprilia shown here, are spiritual successors to those twins of old.
Id rather have it than not need it, than need it and not have it. I think the theme of not being able to use a 600 on the street is in fact wrong. I have a R6 that i ride daily in a small town with moderate speed limits and bang through all the gears and have plenty of fun. I know i'm not gonna fully use the RPM range or the riding postion maybe akward or not optimal. But thats the charm of owning something fast. They are never practical, theyre not supposed to be and thats klinda the point. Its the potential of the machine and if everyone starts buying these easier to ride, subdued machines, theyre just gonna mod them back to what the R6 is anyways because thats what excites people some people. These bikes are great for the market tha wants them and should be celebrated.
For the street, you're right. Naked bikes with more upright seating positions are more comfortable. But head to a track and the supersport will blow it out of the water. Supersports will always have their place, papa yam.
Not just ergonomics, the 600cc i line 4 are not made to make much torque at low to mid rpm, so they are kind of weak for the street compared to the twin cylinders.
Sorry this is just a shitty take. Motorcycles are first and foremost fun vehicles, not transportation. The 600 is plentiful and accessible, delivers insane performance for the price, and sounds great. It’s not going anywhere
I just can't do a parallel twin, I've tried, but it sounds like half an engine and I can't get passed it on the road, I need the refinement of an inline 4
Yammie is speaking without his heart. Its like he knows a 600 is more fun but hes just trying so hard to be rational. This is a fun sport guys enjoy yourself 🤣

I rode a zx6r at a demo event and it was a great bike. I loved the sound and power but for daily riding it just doesn't suit me. I got a ninja 650 and while I'd like more power, it more than performs on the street and I'm not leaving tons of rpms, horsepower, and money on the table like a 600 or 1L. Plus the 650 is more comfortable for commuting. The seat on the 6R feels much wider, but its comfortable in motion. In stop and go traffic however the 6R seat just isn't as comfortable as the 650, and you are REALLY missing out on power because it never gets a chance to get moving. All that being said if money wasn't a concern I'd have a 600 or 1000 as part of my garage, it just doesn't make sense to me as an only bike
i feel like yammie is like lowkey taking shots at young riders who he knows like to live on the edge…you have alot of power over the motorcycle community, but you’ll never change it. i get it you want us to be safe, and we are but not a safe you understand
I’d like to see you do a segment that highlights the notion of different ways of riding a sports bike. It seems we only see them as quasi racers where we ride like headless chickens as the bike screams its tits off underneath us, progressively destroying each system as we push everything to the extreme. What about the idea of just riding at pace - constant - using nothing more than subtle pressure on the bars? No dramatic braking or accelerating. It’s great for covering a lot of ground in comfort not bathed in adrenaline, cortisol or dopamine - just a job well done.
400cc below is more for teaching and familiarizng yourself on how to ride a motorcycle. 600cc teaches you about fine movements on braking, throttle, lean angle, and shifting your weight. 1000cc+ are kind of funky, fun and all, some of them sounds iconic, but let's be honest. How much of the 200+hp would you need to go get groceries?
For a dude who's so moved on from supersports he sure does feel the need to explain himself a bunch, almost like he's still trying to convince himself.
I have a buddy who has a R7 and he road my cbr600 and was blown away with the way it feels in comparison … if yku honestly think that 600s are out… your not riding it right
The only thing I don't like about the loss of supersports is the trickle down detuned engine options that usually make their way into FZ6/FZ1 type sport touring bikes that can still rip. Long live the inline 4 cylinder! :)
@@rishirajsaikia1323 I think the 600's are just about the best dang bike a man can get, bring them on - lets see more of them with all the features and tech and plenty of fairings.
If I was a young guy again I'd just go for a GSXR 750 rather than a 600. I don't think the price would be much more and in my opinion I'd have an all around much better bike if I was just using it on the street.
I think you make a lot of valid points, but RN I'm focusing on track stuff, so if I can spend more time on a track bike without entirely yeeting myself into the scenery, I'll take it. My 600 isn't going anywhere
Nah dude, I've ridden almost every engine configeration at this point and absolutely nothing beats the inline four scream at high rpm and then burble and complain as you slow down for a light. It's a goddamn near spiritual experience for me and I get it everyday I ride to work 😅
You can tell how Yammie has aged just by how his opinion on super sports has rapidly deteriorated. There’s definitely a place for them on the road still Yam. Some people like the core workout from being hunched over and forced to hug their tank.
What do you ride for? If you’re riding for a good time I can’t imagine anything more fun than an R6. Plus it’s the best handling and best looking bike out there.
Small in line 4 need to always be around. The only reason anyone rides those V-twin turds is manufacturers saw production cost rise then force feed that bs to the population. Anyone who rides a 660 then rides any 600cc from the big four, they will say the same thing. Those cheap v twins are good learners and track toys, that’s it.

The only bike for the street is a turbo busa. Everything else it just a moped. 😤
Not really, guys on supersports and superbikes get whooped by guys on slower bikes who actually know how to ride.happens all the time.
Sorry this is just a shitty take. Motorcycles are first and foremost fun vehicles, not transportation. The 600 is plentiful and accessible, delivers insane performance for the price, and sounds great. It’s not going anywhere
Ohhhhh shit dude ROAstED Me 😩😩😩
I just can't do a parallel twin, I've tried, but it sounds like half an engine and I can't get passed it on the road, I need the refinement of an inline 4
Parallel twins have that subaru/egg beater sound 😂
Agreed. The 600cc powerbands are not fun around town.
Yammie is speaking without his heart. Its like he knows a 600 is more fun but hes just trying so hard to be rational. This is a fun sport guys enjoy yourself 🤣
I love 600cc sports bikes, I don’t mind if a bike is slightly more street oriented i.e like 636, but the parallel twin just doesn’t do it for me.
I have 2x Tuono 660 ❤ since 2Years for my Wife and me. It is so much more fun than R6 an 1000ccm on Street. It is for me one of the Best Motorcycle in the market 😍
It is so much more fun whit the light Tuono.
I thought bikes where about wants not needs? Would it be a better idea to compare the r6 to an r7?
yup, prefer usable low-end to mid-range torque than high-end horsepower
I’d like to see you do a segment that highlights the notion of different ways of riding a sports bike. It seems we only see them as quasi racers where we ride like headless chickens as the bike screams its tits off underneath us, progressively destroying each system as we push everything to the extreme. What about the idea of just riding at pace - constant - using nothing more than subtle pressure on the bars? No dramatic braking or accelerating. It’s great for covering a lot of ground in comfort not bathed in adrenaline, cortisol or dopamine - just a job well done.
Sounds like what Yam is saying is the panigale v2 is all we need
400cc below is more for teaching and familiarizng yourself on how to ride a motorcycle. 600cc teaches you about fine movements on braking, throttle, lean angle, and shifting your weight. 1000cc+ are kind of funky, fun and all, some of them sounds iconic, but let's be honest. How much of the 200+hp would you need to go get groceries?
For a dude who's so moved on from supersports he sure does feel the need to explain himself a bunch, almost like he's still trying to convince himself.
The more supersports on the street, the cheaper it is to be a club racer, track day junkie. We need these cheap part out bikes
Good video I just wish more channels included the prices in the comparisons!
How many videos are you going to make about this topic?! I am still going to watch it but we get it.
I kind of agree. An r6 or an r1 is a great second motorcycle. Fz09 for street riding, and an r1 for spirited highway riding.
That Aprilia looks kind of like a race bike, then when you see it ride away and hear the sound, you get a Harley vibe, not for me.
we always will need 600 class
I need a 600 because my mom would kill me if I got a 1000
The Tuono just looks naked to me; I like a full set of fairings on my bike. Bring on the 600's.
Rs660, R7, cbr650r, ninja 650 have full fairing without being a 600cc supersport. So, what's your point ?
@@rishirajsaikia1323 I think the 600's are just about the best dang bike a man can get, bring them on - lets see more of them with all the features and tech and plenty of fairings.
If I was a young guy again I'd just go for a GSXR 750 rather than a 600. I don't think the price would be much more and in my opinion I'd have an all around much better bike if I was just using it on the street.
Won't have any other bike than a 600cc.
600cc just make very low torque at low to mid rpm. In a way, they are kind of weak for the street.
I think you make a lot of valid points, but RN I'm focusing on track stuff, so if I can spend more time on a track bike without entirely yeeting myself into the scenery, I'll take it. My 600 isn't going anywhere
Correct; don't need a 600, so long as Suzuki keeps making the GSX-R750.
MV Agusta 675 or 800cc inline 3's (or any triple) are the correct answer. Perfect sweet-spot of torque, power, and sound.
Papa yams 🍠 your killing me. I love my 600rr. I’d never give it up.
Says Yammy while blasting an R1M going to walmart
600cc inline 4 makes very low torque at street speed and rpm.
An R1 is 999cc tho
What? Lol
@Yammie Noob im saying you usually daily high cc bikes is a bit contradicting 😂
Yammie is getting old, of course my 2004 cbr600rr is not practical. But boy do I love riding it.
Ohh no, I literally just bought me a 2023 GSxr 600 😢
Sike, I’m not sad!
Yammie is a BIG MEAN WEAN BULLIE to the 600cc class!! 😡😡😡
I totally agree that 600's are no longer necessary. I'm super excited for you to take a spin on the CF Moto 450SS.
U cannot be serious…
only Yammie Noob feels this way 💀
Love my ZZR600, will never let her go, but I will consider owning other configurations as well.
Miss mine tons. Solid bike
No, We don't Need Yammi Noob anymore. How many years of vast knowledge do you have? DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME!!!
69 years of knowledge and I've owned 420 motorcycles
Didn't even watch the video. 600cc is the only class I'll need
Yammie thinks he is only person buying motorcycles. Not everybody is the same size and has the preferences as you dude.
His word is gospel. He is the final word, when it comes to all things bikes.
@@Charlesbjtown I am infinite and vast
What do you ride for? If you’re riding for a good time I can’t imagine anything more fun than an R6. Plus it’s the best handling and best looking bike out there.
Yammies Dunkin’ on brokies now 😂 yams buy me a bike or I’m getting the 600
I thought the Tuono was a nice looking bike until you parked it next to the R6
Small in line 4 need to always be around. The only reason anyone rides those V-twin turds is manufacturers saw production cost rise then force feed that bs to the population. Anyone who rides a 660 then rides any 600cc from the big four, they will say the same thing. Those cheap v twins are good learners and track toys, that’s it.
Residential neighborhood 75 mph "gentle street pace". Nice.
Yammie, what’s the best motorcycle to get after I started on a 125cc grom?
This Tuono sounds way better than Yamaha's R7🙌🏻
Couldn't we limit our 600cc bikes to those still in production?
