Tough reviewer, just what we need 👍

Yup, just my honest opinion from my experience with the bike.

Cant wait for him to get a video on the new v4 when it comes out

@luisthisguy9825 really do want to test it. I've owned every iteration so I want to see how much of a change it is. I know the looks will be mentioned but not a deciding factor on how it actually is to ride.

It's good to see a real honest review, but there are a couple areas where it comes off as uninformed: With just 25 miles on it, it's likely the brakes haven't been bedded in yet. He could've easily done a few brake pulls from speed to bed them in and see if it helped the feel. Or maybe it's a beginner-friendly pad for the segment? Lack of low-end torque is a fair critique, but not attempting to shift into 1st for a 30mph corner? It leaves me feeling like this is just first impressions and he didn't really test the bike.

So I did do some brake pulls, not filmed, and still had the same critique. I agree and mentioned 1st gear would have been better, but I did test that out on the way back and it still had meh low end torque. It is a first ride impression, didn't have a ton of time on it so those were my thoughts.

You seem a bit disappointed, but think of the fact this is a third of the price of a PV4. Had one when it launched, had to sell it after only one season because I don't have room for more than two bikes, but it was a really good bike that I still miss.

It is a good bike for a certain rider. Unfortunately it fell short just a little with the torque. I know the rs 660 on track is fantastic and fun.

I've ridden a bright yellow one earlier this year. I had more fun on it than I thought. You don't even need a factory version. Even though it's only like 400€ more so it would be a no brainer to go for the factory. My preferred color is the dark grey on the standard tuono though

Nice review. Wish I had the budget for a second bike because the Aprilia Tuono 660 would be my top choice. The V4 would be a bit much for me at this stage of life. Had an Aprilia Mille , it was a great (trouble free) bike. Would have no qualms going with Aprilia again.

The Tuono 660 Factory is an amazing bike for that category. I like the RS660 better tho. Maybe the R7 is gonna go. Maybe 🤫

Wait till the monster video then the comparison! But the RS660 does feel better to ride. What are you going to get??? I have a v4r for sale😉

nice review. One question i cant decide between this and the 2024 Yamaha MT09 probably the SP version. Which one would you choose?

    • @CaliMotoTV
      @CaliMotoTV  Місяць тому

I did a short track test with the mt09, check that video out. But the mt09 would be my choice because it has more power and is more fun to ride, the tuono is more comfortable though.

To me this seems like a really good starter, and that's what I'm leaning towards. I suspect the torque will not be as noticeable to me, though spongy brakes will bother me. I haven't looked, does this come with steel lines? Or is it the handle itself having a deadzone?
Also looked at an XSR900.. but.. that's a lot of bike to start on.
The RS660... just felt very uncomfortable getting into that position as a new rider.
This wins the naked category for me just on the basis of having some fairings. My goal is to daily in mixed weather and mostly highway.
Sitting on the Tuono felt just right, the weight very manageable, and it should be enough power to keep me around.
I'm a bit older, and coming off an IS 500 (among other performance cars)... I kept the IS 500 under 80 for ~2 months before going triple digits everywhere.
This seems like a bike I can grow into over ~6 months and then continue to enjoy as a daily commuter for 8-9 months out of the year.

I think the brakes just needed to be bled honestly and I don't believe they had steal braided lines. If it's your first bike, it'll be great, it comes with great creature comforts like cruise control. I think for the type of riding you'll do it'll be something you enjoy for sure! And if it feels right then give it a shot!

New Tuono 660 Factory is my first bike, thought it might be too much. But 2000 miles in and it's very approachable, doesn't punish me for being naive and is all the fun I need at the moment. With nothing but a few learner miles on the MT-07 and Z650 to compare it with, the brakes are very good.

I got very close to buying a Tuono Factory. Maybe in the future, I'll get one.

Pretty sure that in the US, both Tuono 660 and Factory have the same 100 horsepower. No extra power on the factory.

Oh? Haven't had issues with the Aprilia's I've owned in the past and have at least 3 dealerships around me.

@elithegreat6463 I guess you are... but there's more than just me, your circle and sample size might be a bit too small to say with enough confidence that they actually have "sketchy" reliability...🙃

@@CaliMotoTVYes right. I don't have any problems with my T660 as well and a Dealer like 50km away. (Driven distance 6000 km.) Possibly he is a bit sketchy.
