Yammie, do you think you'll ever update the gear in the description? Specifically the Dual Sport/ADV gear? Some of the items have been out of stock for a while or in the case of the gloves, entirely discontinued. I've been looking at gear and I dont know what to get now because I was going to buy those gloves and that helmet.
15hp and 100hp at the crank is a big difference lol. Torque is what you should like at more than anything else. Why do you think naked bikes wheelie so much. Less hp more tq.
Sold my CBR1000RR for a CBR650R and it’s a great bike and has the amazing Honda reliability. I got to checkout the RS660 at my local dealership and it has more electronics/tech on it than I’d like personally. Looks like a good bike tho and you’d be making a good choice going with either.
Review would be like, if you want more track capability and electronics go Aprilia, if you want a bike that will be issue free buy the Honda. I'd be buying that Honda every day of the week except Sunday when I buy the similarly priced ZX6R and put some helibars and adjustable rearsets on it.
@Vanessa Xoax To clarify; I was only trying to claim the Aprilia is likely better on track than the CBR650R. But maybe you are saying this isn't true? (I could imagine them being pretty close.) ZX6R really does offer more than either bike for less money. Only drawback being ergos for the street.
Thanks, I was planning to ask whether it makes sense to trade in MT-07 for RS 660 to feel enough difference for the money spent and the SV comparisons pretty much answered my question. I was fortunate enough to do a quick test ride of RS 660 and it definitely seems to tick all the right boxes for me: - quick enough for real use - check - not so quick to kill myself on my first supersport - check - daily commuter - check - capable enough for first track experiences - check I just wish I could get the Apex Black version with both wheels red... :D
The only thing I would ask from papa yam is for some shots of the RS going down the road from like a camera car because that front end looks so damn good.
I got the chance to test ride one this weekend. Not sure if its the sport bike styling or my short arms but I was pressing pickle hard against the tank the whole time. Power is good just a little dead between 4-6k but it still runs past that pretty quick. Debating on a Tuono 660 vs Ducati Monster for my next bike. Love the review and extra perspectives.
This video is awesome. I’ve never rode a sport bike, but this really gives me a good idea of what I’m looking for in my second bike. Your channel is such a great info tool.

Hey Yammie can you make a review on the MT-09 SP? Or at least mention it in some videos, just what do you think about it, do the Ohlings/KYB "fix" the issue of the normal MT-09? Or does it still remain the same "Motard" motorbike?
I think a company should make a 3 cylinder full fairing single swing arm bike. Handlebars should be above triple clamp. Cut back on some of the electronics you don’t need them but Keep cornering ABS AND HAVE A WET WEIGHT 425 lbs and under.
I’m surprised to hear the RS660 had much heat coming off the P-twin engine?! At least it has rear cylinder deactivation as standard equipment lol. Anyone else notice much heat on the RS? I own a Ducati 996 and in stop start 40*C (100*F) Sydney traffic the heat from the rear cylinder becomes unbearable! It once blew (or cooked) the fuel pump fuse under the tank in summer city traffic! It happened 2 km from the Ducati dealership and pushing a 200kg bike in the heat nearly killed me!! Btw it cost $200 ($198 Labour $22 Fuse) !! I avoid extremely hot days now.
Hi yammie. I'm not old enough to drive yet but I recently got bit by the bike but for the second time when my dad sold his old cb750ss 19somethin and used the money to buy A 2001 r6 in near perfect condition. These videos have been great and I plan to get a buzz for my first bike (jkjk😂). We have an old 1999 or 2001 ish pw50. I love it. So thanks for fueling my bike hungry childish mind.
I’m really between a new street triple R or the aprilia rs660, for the money which is about the same what would you do. Only worried about the reliability of the aprilia but I lean that way its so damn cool
Yammie is soooo worried and concerned with what "people say". Every two sentences is "people say...... but" How about, dont worry about what people say. You dont need to justify every single thought you have.
Funny, I'm a regular on the Aprilia forum and on the motorcycle reddit page, and there's been only 2 reported issues with owners- both were minor. Sounds like you're spending bullshit.
Would this be a good jump for me? I drive a 2017 cbr500r and started riding about a month ago and have about 450 miles under me. I just feel like 105mph red lines aren’t doing it for me. Of course i’m not ripping the road everytime I get on it. But when i see wide open road why not? 😂 But i’m in love with the design. And don’t see too many if any aprilia’s yet.
Get whatever bike gets you excited about riding my friend, forget about what the "UA-cam" community says about it, feel me? Just get an idea from watching all of these videos online, but at the end of the day, its YOU who's paying out of pocket for a bike, not them! My first bike was a 2007 Suzuki gsxr 600 back in 2008 when I was 20 years old lmao, then few years later in 2015 I bought a new Yamaha Fz-07 that I've ridden for 3 years and I parked it into my garage ever since! Its been sitting there untouched since 2018, and I have just over 11k miles on it. Now I'm also thinking what bike to get next, and I'm contemplating whether I should get a naked bike, or go with a full fairing bike again like I did when I bought my first ever bike, the Gixxer!! I love the sound of that in-line 4 engine tho, so now I'm kinda stuck in a dilemma momentarily, cuz I also like the nakeds as well, love that "street hooligan look" which the MT-09 offers, but it's a 3 cylinder instead which i can grow into, no problem, but this RS660 Aprilia (a V-twin) is one sexy b**ch as well, and it isn't that much more expensive than the MT-09, perhaps like $3k more, so I'm kinda stuck on whether I want a street naked 3 cylinder hooligan bike, or a sexy V-twin sportbike that's not an in-line 4!! So I got some homework to do I guess!! So you see? You aren't the only one with hard decisions to make pal. Good luck with yours!!!
Hey Yammie! What do you use to keep battery up on the gopro? I use the enduro batteries in my hero 10 but not sure if they’d last this long. What resolution and framerate?
Yeah honesty the only opinionated biker I agree with... Most just talk out of their asses with arrogance at least yammie makes sense with arrogance ;) respect
The Euro-bike simping is real lol. Talks about how the P-twin sounds good but in every other non-European bike Yammie calls it a lawnmower (Let's be honest, P-twins don't sound amazing, regardless of engine configuration). Josh talks about how he can feel the vibration of the engine through the bars and calls it "Tactile feel of the engine" and Yammie agrees is a good thing but shits on all other P-twin because of the "buzzing in the bars". The icing on the cake for me is when Yammie says "It's a P-twin but it has tons of personality" Why? because it's European and not Japanese? I didn't know shitty clearance, gunk in the bike and general reliability issues were considered personalities. The only thing this bike has going is its looks (pretty nice minus the color) and the tech onboard. But those are just the flashy paintjob to hide its many flaws.
It has character because of it's 270 degrees crank like the Yamaha MT07, Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Bonneville or the KTM 790 Duke instead of the standard 180 degrees offered in something like the Kawasaki Z650 or Honda CBR500R. That, and the way it is tuned to make it's power. Has nothing to do with solely being European vs Japanese even though Yammie and Spite are undeniably euro simps. Gotta admit, in my opinion the RS660 has yet to be proven long term and has a bit too much electronics on it for me to be comfortable owning it. The previous 750 and 900's were mostly rock solid though. Guess we'll see?
After owning it's big brother and being a mechanic and being able to test ride a ton of stuff I would put that number one but this is such an amazing bike for it's small engine compared to the v2 panagale this is #2 I would say big rsv4/tuono #1 and 660 and tuono 600 #2 the only thing aprilia needs to work on is mirrors but that's a quick aftermarket fix

Do you think a Daytona 675 or R6 would be a good first track bike with 3 years of street riding under my belt? I have a 2015 R1 but don’t think that would be good to learn on just yet.
Would this be a good intermediate bike if my first bike was a Vulcan 900, and I've only ever ridden cruisers? Or should I start on a beginner sport bike
Good question. Revzilla is not bad but my biggest frustration are sites that don’t explicitly give you a comfort level that the parts you are ordering are a fit for your specific bike.
Don´t get a 600 man, they really suck in everyday use, and the new MT09 has more torque and equal HP, the zx6r is just worse in every way. Except you would do a lot of trackdays, the zx6 doesn´t make any sense
Nice F@3%ing job Josh. You are very articulate and should be featured frequently. ...and buy tha'damn bike. :) keep the SV tho! we all love SV forever thing.
Can you please let me know if the giveaway bikes are exclusive to citizens from the US or can other countries enter also? Just since I'm in Ireland and would give anything for a chance at that RS660
Hey Yam, I actually considered buying a pack of cardo packtalk bold duo for my buddy and me, but it said it would cost me 599 euros shipped from a neighbouring country using your link. Looked it up, the bike accessory store sells it for 592 euros in my country. So pleas chack the link, because it doesnt seem to apply the discount you were talking about.
Horsepower figures are more relevant in America because of much less occurrence of tight twisty roads and the prevalence of freeways . Sportbike handling is wasted on many American roads.
buy a street triple and blow the change on mods and hookers lol 😆 the problem with a parallel twin at this capacity is the power delivery is punchy low to midrange but it feels like it’s asthmatic at the higher rpm compared to a inline 4 600 that pulls harder the higher it revs.
@Vanessa Xoax perhaps the asthma diagnosis was a bit harsh and as it only has 2 cylinders it does well with what it’s got but this is the beginning of the new generation of 6/700 cc sportbikes replacing the almost race ready bikes like the R6 etc and i understand it’s a intended departure from high rpm racing spec power delivery and the low to midrange torque and power this twin gives us is better suited to daily use in the real world but it’s lacking something that has to be there on a bike like this. it’s lacking soul, character , call it what you will, it’s a very good bike, but it’s not a great bike and it’s not got any competition in this class right now but the R7 is on the way and then we’ll get an idea of what’s what
@Vanessa Xoax the bike they should be making is a comfortable sport bike like the rs660 but with the yamaha triple from the fz09 cos that’s a great all rounder with big torque for road use and big power for track
Don't listen to the Italian haters. Yes, Aprilia has had issues in the past along with KTM and BMW but strides have been made. Aprilia is more reliable nowadays compared to the 2015s.
I don't want to give this Aprilia RS660 away but... I must. Go to www.yammienoob.co and enter to win it or go to www.yammienoobmerch.com

Just ordered my 1 Down 5 Up sweatshirt. Even if I don't win the Aprilia, I'll have some slick Yammie Merch
Looking at this bike, but I'd be coming from an STR 765 RS, so it feels like it might be a step down

“Beautiful cockpit forsure”

Would this be a good intermediate bike if my first bike was a Vulcan 900, and I've only ever ridden cruisers? Or should I start on a beginner sport bike
Sweet ride just not crazy about the color scheme.
You can easily wrap it...
They have 2 other color options, I myself like the "acid gold" or whatever they call it..12k here in 🇨🇦 Maybe one day 😆
What website should I buy motorcycle parts on?
Good question. Revzilla is not bad but my biggest frustration are sites that don’t explicitly give you a comfort level that the parts you are ordering are a fit for your specific bike.
@@Turtleneck857 thanks I’ll check it out! Have any opinions on J&PCycle?
@@martinlegrice1414 yeah, I like the comfort of knowing that this part is actually going to fit on my bike
2021 MT09 SP version better option or just buy kawasaki ZX6R. OTD prices are like +/-1k from each other.
Don´t get a 600 man, they really suck in everyday use, and the new MT09 has more torque and equal HP, the zx6r is just worse in every way. Except you would do a lot of trackdays, the zx6 doesn´t make any sense
@@redo1dr yes, i am leaning towards the MT09 :)
@yammie noob , how can i put on the hazzerd lights ? Because there is no switch for it !!🤷🏻♂️
I'll love to have it, but idk if it's coming to South America, more especifcly to Brazil.
Gixxer 250 has much more power and doesn’t need any electronics because it’s a superior machine.
Yeah.... sure bud.
🤭
@@literal_lee are you mad because you can’t handle the raw power of a gixxer 250?
@@ToobSteak69 ....darn it.... you saw straight through me, didn't you ? 🙄
"You too can smell the pothead in front of you" Says Yammie riding in front of him.
How’s the reliability issues for the 2023 - 2024 I’ve heard alot of horror stories? I’m hoping they’re fixed I want one so bad 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Anyone else realize the the bush trying to take bikes out at 5:23
I’m torn between the Yellow and the Red/Blurple models…🤔😍
I never ride both but on paper the closest competitor to the rs 660 might be the cbr 650.
Im rocking a cardo packtalk bold its awesole
Yam, is that a Quad Lock cell phone holder? If not, what is it. Thx!
It's a rockform mount
@@benwestlake5842 Hey... thanks. Getting my RS this week. Got to get ready. 🤣
How does this compare to a street triple rs?
we need better camera that 30fps video just aint cutting it
Nice F@3%ing job Josh. You are very articulate and should be featured frequently. ...and buy tha'damn bike. :) keep the SV tho! we all love SV forever thing.
So how do you record off the Cardo?
have you seen the australian price gouging
Uncompetitive price point huh ?
This RS660/ Tuono 660 or Ktm Duke 890 R for a daily/rare track days?
Can't go wrong with any of them, for track or daily. Tough choice to make.....
Duke 890
I've got a 19 Ducati Diavel 1260, looking for something to complement that, mainly street use
Ok I have a question I’m thinking of learning mechanicing but bike mechanics aren’t as popular and earn as much money but I don’t what to focus on
Has anyone made an exhaust for it yet other than akroprovik they're the only ones i can find
Id love this bike to come in full SuperSport ergo
How was the fitment on the rokform steering nut
6:00 Its JORDAN SCHLANSKY!! xD
Nice!
2020 Ninja 650 ABS for the win!
Can you please let me know if the giveaway bikes are exclusive to citizens from the US or can other countries enter also? Just since I'm in Ireland and would give anything for a chance at that RS660
Unfortunately, only USA. I checked into the terms on his website, because...same 😂
In the video I thought it said there is a link for 30% off. All I see is a link for 20%, and it doesn’t look like they have the Black.
You'd be better off buying one closer to home. You may get hit with extra taxes if importing from the US.
Horsepower figures are more relevant in America because of much less occurrence of tight twisty roads and the prevalence of freeways .
Sportbike handling is wasted on many American roads.
What is a auto blipper ??
ya'll over here making me want an rs 660!
naked bike and sports bike second hand combination nice review 👍
I like by that bridge 😂
This or the new mt09 SP?
Make a video about TT Isle of Man race asapppppppp
buy a street triple and blow the change on mods and hookers lol 😆
the problem with a parallel twin at this capacity is the power delivery is punchy low to midrange but it feels like it’s asthmatic at the higher rpm compared to a inline 4 600 that pulls harder the higher it revs.
Beatiful bike
What is "auto blip"?
I like that, it's a V-twin, I'd be disappointed if it was another 180° inline twin.
Nope it's not a V-twin. It totally feels like one though.😊
@@literal_lee wait, I thought Yams said it was V-twin, haha my bad
@@Astrix_Jaeger Well...being a V-twin addict, it's the only thing I 'dislike' about it...
But in reality you don't really notice.👍😊
The 270 degree crank gives it a v-twin-style pulse. If you don’t look down, you’ll swear you’re on a smooth v-twin.
@@Astrix_Jaeger At 3:29, he says: "It sounds good for a P-Twin, right?"
Is this motorcycle reliable is what I’m concerned about?
no
italian reliable
Don't listen to the Italian haters. Yes, Aprilia has had issues in the past along with KTM and BMW but strides have been made. Aprilia is more reliable nowadays compared to the 2015s.
