I buyed a bike in 2021 just looking at your reviews-Kawasaki Z900RS, and i love the bike. I like other bikes too, Bmw, Ducati but i tested all and after i watch your opinion, it was 100 % match. LOL! It's really the most fun I've had on a middleweight naked. But last week I was talking to the Aprilia sales guys at the 2 different dealerships that I work with and they both said that the 660 motor is having some quality issues, some times they have to just replace the motor, one guy had his motor replaced, under warranty of course, in the first month of ownership. So I hope you get a good motor and don't have to deal with that. If you do, please leave some feedback and your personal experience with the bike, good or bad. take care and enjoy the bike, Scott
Aprilia delivered from a design and performance perspective but I think I trust my 2020 Street Triple RS more in terms of reliability. Hope to see them continue to up their quality assurance game - something KTM needs to do as well.
@@WL2K A store near to me says they expect their first bikes to be arriving in July. So hopefully that's promising? No idea though. My Aprilia account still says Order: "In Process"

Awesome videos as always man! Always have always will! The only gripe I have is Aprilia naming it as a "NAKED BIKE" LMAO... that's what happens when a brand is living under a rock but with ears. Sports bike. I REST MY CASE
Meh… you have to account for the handlebar-style of the Tuono, and ‘naked’ does that… The RS 660 is the “sport” with the clip ons and forward leaning rider triangle
I have the V4 version and believe me it is naked...not because of the faring but because everything but your gut it propped way above it with those handle bars. Covered in bug guts every day to prove it. Switch bars to clip ons and yes, it's not naked...agreed. V4 is really too much power for that body position but they don't let you test ride around here. Would rather have went with the 660 Tuano or full blown RSV4.
They should release a retrobike on this platform. I'm considering buying it, but the competition looks so much better and let's not lie about it - looks do matter when it comes to bikes ;)
Reminds me of my old 675 Street Triple R. Endlessly fun and so good it made me feel like a better rider. How was it on the highway? I know it's a naked but how would it handle day tripping or would it exhaust you in 20 minutes?
Anybody here ever ride a KTM SMC 690 R? Likewise--slowest bike I own--an KTM 890R in the quill, too--and most fun. Hard to match the 325 pounds as a starting point for fun.
I've owned the Husky version of the KTM 690 and it's power-to-weight ratio yields real joy. KTM markets it's 7 & 890 twins as scalpels but I expect our 690cc's are sharper, the other two with more power thrown in. I actually owned a new SuperDuke briefly but dumped it at a great loss after being so fed up with unresolved mechanical issues. I went with a smooth & fun bike after that, the MT-10 which pretty much hit the nail on the head for me except for it's consistently awful gas mileage figures: never more that in the 29's and I can get in the 24 mpg range on occasion. With gas prices today, I'm considering a KTM 790 or 890 but oh! the 790 I rode at a dealer test ride had a brutal suspension over rougher pavements and I just couldn't imagine enjoying it when just wanting to ride & chill . . . vs. Ready-to-Race all the time. The 690 can chill if one wants. So yeah! You're right about light weight being a secret weapon in the experience of cycling.
I always saw this bike as needing to be categorized as a expensive 650. To me this is the most expensive and powerful bike in that category not the cheaper less powerful mt09 competitor. I can see including both on the chart but maybe it’s just striking me because I’ve never look at this bike through this lens I’ve always heard it more compared to the 650’s because it literally is a 650. The mt09 and 890 etc have a ton over this and yet not THAT much more to show. having said that thank you because you just give me a different sort of way to frame this bike that I never even considered. This is a rare bike that almost defies the charting as it’s not budget but it’s nowhere near as well endowed as the performance chart bikes. I see how you put it there because if it’s price I just never really considered that and somehow this simultaneously makes it easier for me to consider buying this bike and harder because now I have to consider for a more powerful entire displacement bikes that are at a similar price. In that way it’s somewhat similar to a MV Augusta with the conundrum it presents me, do I want a absolute top of the line 650 that is high priced for 650s but with features and build quality no other 650 can boast and that better compares to the next class up performance wise, or do I want a farmore powerful and higher displacement “performance“ middleweight that gives you much more for your dollar but sort of put you at the bottom of the pack as far as the 8 to 900cc bikes go, if that makes any sense. And that way it’s sort of like the M3 if it’s segment it’s the most you can make of a bike with this size and motor capacity etc. but it’s a bit expensive so you could buy car that could do a whole lot more performance wise for the same price but it won’t be as well rounded. I still love this bike and I think sadly I leave this video with the same conclusion, I’ve gotta wait a bit and look for it on the used market But if you’ve got the cash I wouldn’t feel bad at all buying this over and an mt09 For example
Pretty much right, this bike compared to the MT09 has better quality/suspensions/brakes etc...etc.. but the Yamaha engine is far superior, the Tuono needs an 800cc engine to unleash all its potential, imho.
Great video yet again, I bought the Shiver 900 after watching your review and love it, but as you said heavy and poor steering lock. Just one question, I'm thinking of a change so Tuono 660 factory or triumph Street Triple 765 RS, mainly for road riding but some track days. Cheers 🙂
Thank you! Well, it comes down to what you are looking for, more power & a triple, then the RS but the RS is a serious machine. The 660 is playful, fun and not serious but will still do good track times. I like the sound of the 660 better, sounds more like a V-twin and the triple, well, it's a Triumph with the triple whine. ain't it great that we have so many options! take care, Scott
Interesting to know the Tuono would be chosen ahead of the Streetfighter. Although if getting to chose between either as a giveaway bike... chose the Streetfighter, sell it, and have cash left over after buying a Tuono! 🏍 💰 👍
Thanks for the review! How would you compare it to the new Street Triple R. Very difficult for me to decide which one to get. To me the Tuono feels more like the hooligan which barks at you and you throw around the streets and the Streety is the more refined smooth sportsmachine.
Yes I felt almost the same when I tested the 660 RS which is more appealing to me from a design and aesthetic point of view, but I think that the 660 Tuono is pretty similar to the aprillia 660 RS. The applause on the electronics of the Aprillia from your part is a significant appreciation for the Brand. Because it means that finally they got it right, after many years of difficulties trying to make a credible name on the Market. What about general construction quality? Is it any good? What do you think? Be well and ride safe too ✌️✌️
Still on the fence, but do not want to buy a bike that will stay in the garage with all the aggravation of having to deal with dealers. Really like the Tuono 660F though. More me than the MT09SP. But I could ride the latter no problem.
Nice. My Street Triple R was hit by a car, missed my leg, and may not recover. I am seriously looking at the Tuono. In my country same price as the Street Triple RS. I like to have fun on the twists but am not seriously fast, too old to mend. Ride in town all the time too. Would you recommend over another Street Triple R?
It really depends on the dealership for me. How close and if you like/trust one over the other that is what would sway me in one direction or the other. Both bikes are just down right FUN and that is what nakeds are supposed to be. Although if you've already owned one then you might want to try the other? 👍😊 take care, Scott
I need you to be the first on UA-cam to do a head to head with the 660 and 660 Factory. So we can see real world difference and if it is really worth the extra money. Or just pay the 400 for quick shift and IMU. 😉.
Thanks again. I have given the Aprilia a good test rideand yes it has real character! Plenty of go and somehow it is on rails stable despite being flicakble. A couple of gripes. I found the suspension hard on a bad back road. I guess a liitle less preload and slower the rebound would fix that. Second the rear sets are unusual and the bit of palstic suck on the right swing arm looks like an after thought and not permenqnt. I guess I could buy after market rear sets. Finally where is neutral now?. Very hard to find. A lite touch down from second seemed to work. The quick shifter up is really great but down you need to watch what you do or it is rough. However the issue for me is 826 mm seat height. I have short legs and really 800 is my comfortable max. So if I buy this bike I am on tip toes and need to scoot my butt to one side ot the other to be fully stable at reast. Has me thinking again. Comments ? But so much character in the bike, its growl etc. you feel like a hooligan riding qround town at 50kph! And it looks drop dead georgous!
More fun with this bike than the Big Brother, the V4 Factory. Unfortunately the 660 Factory is only available in black. Hopefully the design department of Aprilia is more creative for the 2023 (and beyond) models.
I heard RS660 has flat spot on middle of rpm range where standard tuono660 has 5hp less but better midrange with a different mapping. I wonder how is Tuono660 factory, since seems like it has RS mapping with 100hp.
It really depends on what you are looking for in a bike. Performance wise, they are very similar but the RS has 20+ more HP and is a serious track day weapon. The Factory will do everything the RS can do except with less power and is not so serious about being technical on the track. This is why I'd take the Tuono over the RS (my serious track days are over), it's not so serious about life, it wants to play and not be serious...about anything but will keep up with the RS in a corner, it's just that the RS will pull away from it down the straight. Good luck with picking! Scott
Triumph tiger 660 or Tuono 660 Factory? I get they are in different categories but I am currently cross shopping these two for my next bike purchase after a year on a 390 duke. Price wise in the Uk once you spec the tiger up they cost roughly the same. The electronics, IMU etc plus seemingly the higher spec parts are leaning me towards the Tuono. Where would your money go ?
What’s the long term impressions of this bike, I’ve yet to see a review of how well these bikes hold up over the course of the years they have been out. Considering buying one and don’t want to get something that’s going to spend more time in the shop than on the road.
Well, this model just came out, the base last year well, the end of last year depending on your country, so that maybe the reason you have not seen a "years" long review of this bike. 😥 The RS version of this you probably can because that came out at the beginning of last year.
I am a returning rider.I went and test drove a GSX 8s and sv650 today. sv650 was nice but a bit boring chassis for me. I had a lot of fun on the GSX 8s, but it was a bit clinical .. it doesnt sound too goiod I think. Could you compare the tuono 660 Factory to a GSX 8s ? I live in Frankfurt and for saome reason, the price has really dropped on the tuono bringing it to within 500 euros of a GSX 8s
I don't know if you mentioned it, how was the buffeting? I read or saw that the way the front is designed it's very good for a naked bike. I ride a 390 DUKE and it's buffet central, am seriously considering a Tuono 660 Factory as my next bike.
I have just watched your review of the Honda CB750. A bike was waiting for and would have bought 12 months ago. Sounds great. The 660 Factory costs 21% more in our country. Worth it if you have the money?
Two different feelings I get from the two bikes. The Hornet feeling is solid, stable, secure. The Tuono 660 feeling is fun, sharp, quick, oh and did I say fun! The Tuono to this day, even when I see this thumb nail, puts a (9 year old boy) grin on my face, the Hornet does not. Hornet is the kind of girl you'd like to take home to meet mom and marry. The Tuono is the kind of girl you don't tell anyone about but continue to have fun with her every time, that's the kind of grin I'm talking about 😁👍 So, is it worth it, depends on how much money you have and how much fun (money) you are willing to pay for 🤷♂️☺
Great review as always and I am currently downsizing and this is on my short list.... but The Front faring looks great from the front but from the side it looks like a poorly fitted chinese spurious component (worse than 765 headlights) Reliability history coupled with lack of dealership within reasonable distance is certainly a downside for me.
Quick question, i am looking for my second bike next year after a year of experience from my honda 500f and im n between the factory and a yamaha mt09 what would you recommend if you would have to choose between these two. Is the tuono as fun as the mt09 or would you say this is as long as fun as the little more powerful mt09 after a few more years experience. Would be cool to hear your guys input
How is the durability and quality of Aprilia today? I like the Tuono 660 Factory and the Tuareg, but I wouldn't dare spend my money on an Italian bike.
So a Ninja 650 is way less…similar size motor. But this one is worth several thousand more? Correct? Also for similar price 890 Duke.. is this one more fun? Btw… I have not driven any of them.
How do you think this bike compares to the KTM Duke 790? I’m looking for a fun and performance oriented middle weight naked and cross-shopping these models. As good as new 2020 790 Dukes are available for about €8500 while this goes for €12000 in NL. These bikes seem quite similar to me, but what do you think given that you tested them both?
Tough question. Simply because these are two totally different bikes and in two different weight classes. Both are fun just go about it in two different ways. Just depends on what I need or want at the moment. Right now I'm getting older so more often than not, I would want some fun but classic fun, so the Speed twin. Ask me again tomorrow and I'd probably give you a different answer...LOL:! take care, Scott
I’m a beginner rider looking for my first bike and I get scared I’m going to get an engine that I’ll grow out of too fast, it seems that the motorcycle community is just obsessed with numbers instead of just riding lol. If I want to just cruise and ride will this engine be fine? I’m not looking to do track days or race anything lol.
Yea, numbers just tell us about what to expect in a bike, after that it's all about what the rider wants in a bike. You won't grow out of this bike "too fast", I've been riding for over 30 years and I find this bike very entertaining and in fact I wanted my wife to get this as her first bike that I can ride it for fun when I'm alone but she chose the Triumph Trident instead. take care, Scott
@@thierryfaquet7405 nah that’s not necessarily accurate at all. I didn’t say they needed to make the same exact bike. Mostly just spice up that majorly de-tuned inline triple.

I was waiting for this review. What a wicked bike. Awesome review. Very well done!
When you flash it and put a pipe on it becomes even more fun. The power delivery and noise is amazing
This video helped me decide to buy one of these and I'm glad I did because it's an amazing all around bike.
Nice to see you this enthousiastic! Fun, fun, fun! Three thumbs up again :-)
Got mine a month ago 😍
Love everything about it
Same here 👌🏻
Mine was supposed arrive 2 months ago.
Love mine too
was just watching your previous video on the 2021 tuono 660 and now seeing this lol definitely not a coincidence 😎 its a great bike and btw I really love how cool you deliver the videos man 🍻 thanks
@@TFT-bp8zk yeah i know but in this case he had just uploaded it as soon as i had finished watching that older video and went back to videos for more
Thanks for having and sharing a clear opinion.
I want this bike so bad and every review confirms how good it is. Really good video, thank you.
Best bike in the class. Just so much fun.
Excellent review as always.....for me it's either the Tuono for Italian style and fun, or the the MT-09 for value and reliability....tricky. very tricky
I have a 22 factory and I love it. 😎
is it really comfy. what about the vibration. i really want to buy one.. i use to have yamaha fz6 fazer.
I have own an Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 for the last 13 years. I've had 19 bikes so far, my Aprilia ranks as #1. Looking at a Tuono to compliment my Dorsoduro750. I am on the fence between the Factory Tuono 660 or the non-factory V4. Decision, decisions. Triple
the muscles on that pitbull are insane!......seriously well built animal
I just watched this wearing the exact same shirt - NTP for the win! Killer bike.
🤣🤣 Thank you! 👍😁
Awesome content. Thanks. Your microphone sounds so good, it was like you were in my head. lol
Great review, thanks for posting.
i purchased the 21 non factory and love it, so comfortable, nimble
Hey, thanks for the comment. Can you let us all know if you have any problems with it. I always like hearing from actual owners and their experiences with bikes.
take care,
Scott
@@NothingToProve there are 2 common problems, oil leaks and the quick shifter on the RS660 (same bike for the most part) coming loose. The problem i had straight from the dealer was the fuel meter not working, otherwise no problems so far.... but its an Italian bike so you know how that goes :)
I buyed a bike in 2021 just looking at your reviews-Kawasaki Z900RS, and i love the bike. I like other bikes too, Bmw, Ducati but i tested all and after i watch your opinion, it was 100 % match. Small problems but you see them all: vibrations, heat, no feel breaks. Well done! I am looking to buy a second bike, i realy like Aprilia 660 Tuono Factory, it is very fun bike, but i see so many tehnical problems that scares me.
I am in the same camp. If Tuono had 3 years warranty like some BMW, I would get it!
What technical problems?
You’re certainly not too old for this bike Scott.Get on a busa, wind it out,and get back to me.
Yea, did that last summer on the German autobahn, almost ripped my head off. 😁

You’re a brave man!💪
I just purchased this Tuono 660 Factory! Picking it up on Monday. I blame you in part. lol.
If you do, please leave some feedback and your personal experience with the bike, good or bad.
take care and enjoy the bike,
Scott
Aprilia delivered from a design and performance perspective but I think I trust my 2020 Street Triple RS more in terms of reliability. Hope to see them continue to up their quality assurance game - something KTM needs to do as well.
i feel like aprillia nailed the triaaaaaaaaaangle with power, size and pricing on this bike
Great video.
Have a look at street triple s 660... its always overlooked
Another great review Scott 👏 👌
Great bike from Aprilia. Would go this over the RS
Thanks for the review! I've already got mine on order and I'm hoping they start arriving in the US soon! Can't wait!
Mine was supposed to have arrived 2 months ago in GR MI
@@WL2K A store near to me says they expect their first bikes to be arriving in July. So hopefully that's promising? No idea though. My Aprilia account still says Order: "In Process"
@@fatmoxy what area would that be?
@@WL2K The shop is in Phoenix
@@WL2K FYI I finally got in touch with Aprilia customer service today and the guy told me that my bike was in the US and they were just waiting for the freight company to ship, which is the bottleneck in the process right now. He said the tentative delivery to my dealer would likely/hopefully be the 3rd week in July.
I will keep my 2018 shiver 900 for now but maybe in a few years I will try it but his big brother speaks more to me 😎
The wheelbase is super low on those and thats a really good thing, I learned from many decades a 57 inch or lower wheelbase is what I want .
Great review, fantastic middleweight motorcycle!
That's my new bike for 2023, looking forward to have a lot of fun on the streets 😃
Thank you for your efforts i love the way you review bikes thank you again
Cool review
Exellent video, I'm in, thank you
Never knew Aprilia has good electrics! I must check it. Thank you!
The best on the planet, 2nd to none. And I'm not being sarcastic.👍
This Video helped with my decision! Thx!
I’m so glad there’s no Aprilia dealer closer to
Me because otherwise I’d be broke
2 thumbs up on the video! Thanks for the content.
now i wanna know which bikes you think were a chore to review :D
Awesome videos as always man! Always have always will!
The only gripe I have is Aprilia naming it as a "NAKED BIKE" LMAO... that's what happens when a brand is living under a rock but with ears.
Sports bike. I REST MY CASE
Meh… you have to account for the handlebar-style of the Tuono, and ‘naked’ does that…
The RS 660 is the “sport” with the clip ons and forward leaning rider triangle
I have the V4 version and believe me it is naked...not because of the faring but because everything but your gut it propped way above it with those handle bars. Covered in bug guts every day to prove it. Switch bars to clip ons and yes, it's not naked...agreed. V4 is really too much power for that body position but they don't let you test ride around here. Would rather have went with the 660 Tuano or full blown RSV4.
How about a minute or two on ease of maintainance?
Oil & filter change level of difficulty?
Nice video.. perhaps u could do a video about the 14 bikes, favorite bike to least favorite bike among the 14 bikes..
But from all the bikes you showed in that table I would choose Aprilia 😊😊😊
So would I 😀
They should release a retrobike on this platform.
Scott, you are looking fit these days, great review as always.
Damn Scott that bike sounds so good.
Nice bike,thanks.
I still love this bike and I think sadly I leave this video with the same conclusion, I’ve gotta wait a bit and look for it on the used market
But if you’ve got the cash I wouldn’t feel bad at all buying this over and an mt09 For example
Pretty much right, this bike compared to the MT09 has better quality/suspensions/brakes etc...etc.. but the Yamaha engine is far superior, the Tuono needs an 800cc engine to unleash all its potential, imho.
First Scott!! 👍🏻 Which is for who between the duke 890 r and this Tuono Factory? Two thumbs up!
I like the sound of the 660 better, sounds more like a V-twin and the triple, well, it's a Triumph with the triple whine.
ain't it great that we have so many options!
take care,
Scott
@@NothingToProve thanks, pretty much my thoughts. 👍
Interesting to know the Tuono would be chosen ahead of the Streetfighter. Although if getting to chose between either as a giveaway bike... chose the Streetfighter, sell it, and have cash left over after buying a Tuono! 🏍 💰 👍
My only gripe is the big gap between the handlebars and headlight it's quite an eye sore from the side
Be well and ride safe too ✌️✌️
Yea, Aprilia has never done well with reliability, they are getting better but still behind everyone, give them a few more years. 😁
take care,
Scott
Defo not to old 😂my 70 year old friend sends his v4 factory tuono round donny about 5 times a year age is just a number.
I need you to be the first on UA-cam to do a head to head with the 660 and 660 Factory. So we can see real world difference and if it is really worth the extra money. Or just pay the 400 for quick shift and IMU. 😉.
Seems like the KTM 890 is a strong contender...nice review.
not even close sorry, on an uphill mountain road the ktm will chew this bike in half (we are talking about an 890R right? )
Great video. New sub...
How is the reliability? I've heard issues with burning oil and also expensive services.
How does the engine on this compare to an mt07?
More fun with this bike than the Big Brother, the V4 Factory. Unfortunately the 660 Factory is only available in black. Hopefully the design department of Aprilia is more creative for the 2023 (and beyond) models.
I'm 57,I got a ktm 790 duke custom,and a gas gas 300 motocross bike,and I ride them like I stole them!!!
I heard RS660 has flat spot on middle of rpm range where standard tuono660 has 5hp less but better midrange with a different mapping. I wonder how is Tuono660 factory, since seems like it has RS mapping with 100hp.
Hi, really nice review!
i'm really undecided between the tuono 660 factory and the triumph street triple rs. Which one do you recommend to me?
It really depends on what you are looking for in a bike. Performance wise, they are very similar but the RS has 20+ more HP and is a serious track day weapon. The Factory will do everything the RS can do except with less power and is not so serious about being technical on the track. This is why I'd take the Tuono over the RS (my serious track days are over), it's not so serious about life, it wants to play and not be serious...about anything but will keep up with the RS in a corner, it's just that the RS will pull away from it down the straight.
Good luck with picking!
Scott
Have you ridden the 2022 Suzuki GSX-s1000? I rode a 2016 and it was fun…nimble, good sound, and sone torque.
Duke 790 its more nimble, but Tuono 660 are more racey and fun✊🔥
Nice bike. 👍
Update, I got the tuono 660 factory. My life will never be the same again. Just finished the shoirt 2 month season for me with 6000 kms.. loving it !
I am seriously considering this bike to replace my 2020 Street Triple RS. I'm thinking it might just be more fun on the road.
I don't know if you mentioned it, how was the buffeting? I read or saw that the way the front is designed it's very good for a naked bike. I ride a 390 DUKE and it's buffet central, am seriously considering a Tuono 660 Factory as my next bike.
Na, didn't notice any buffeting, the wind hit me around the middle of the chest, so it's clean air on helmet. 👍
@@NothingToProve Sold! 👌
Where did you get your riding pants? I like them.
Thanks! They are Trilobyte Agnox jeans. 👍
The Tuono is the kind of girl you don't tell anyone about but continue to have fun with her every time, that's the kind of grin I'm talking about 😁👍
So, is it worth it, depends on how much money you have and how much fun (money) you are willing to pay for 🤷♂️☺
@@NothingToProve Thanks for the response. The Aprilia is prettier too!
Great review as always and I am currently downsizing and this is on my short list.... but
The Front faring looks great from the front but from the side it looks like a poorly fitted chinese spurious component (worse than 765 headlights)
Reliability history coupled with lack of dealership within reasonable distance is certainly a downside for me.
Okay think you gave the answer at the end haha
How is the durability and quality of Aprilia today? I like the Tuono 660 Factory and the Tuareg, but I wouldn't dare spend my money on an Italian bike.
Aprilia is not doing so well lately. Wait a bit for them to fix some issues, especially with the new 660 motor.
Great review. Might purchase this bike, would you say this factory version is worth it even if I can get the normal 660 with IMU + QS for free?
Yea the suspension upgrade is worth the 400 difference in price alone 😔
So a Ninja 650 is way less…similar size motor. But this one is worth several thousand more? Correct? Also for similar price 890 Duke.. is this one more fun? Btw… I have not driven any of them.
How do you think this bike compares to the KTM Duke 790?
I’m looking for a fun and performance oriented middle weight naked and cross-shopping these models.
As good as new 2020 790 Dukes are available for about €8500 while this goes for €12000 in NL.
These bikes seem quite similar to me, but what do you think given that you tested them both?
@scott if you had to pick one- this or speed twin, what would you go for?
Tough question. Simply because these are two totally different bikes and in two different weight classes. Both are fun just go about it in two different ways. Just depends on what I need or want at the moment. Right now I'm getting older so more often than not, I would want some fun but classic fun, so the Speed twin. Ask me again tomorrow and I'd probably give you a different answer...LOL:!
take care,
Scott
@@NothingToProve both great looking bikes for sure 👍
I’m a beginner rider looking for my first bike and I get scared I’m going to get an engine that I’ll grow out of too fast, it seems that the motorcycle community is just obsessed with numbers instead of just riding lol. If I want to just cruise and ride will this engine be fine? I’m not looking to do track days or race anything lol.
Yea, numbers just tell us about what to expect in a bike, after that it's all about what the rider wants in a bike. You won't grow out of this bike "too fast", I've been riding for over 30 years and I find this bike very entertaining and in fact I wanted my wife to get this as her first bike that I can ride it for fun when I'm alone but she chose the Triumph Trident instead.
take care,
Scott
Did you sense any engine or radiator heat on your legs/body while riding this?
Nope.
Two thumbs up!!!
NTP …
Imagine if triumph had made their 660 triple as capable, as fun, as well as aprillia ‘s 660…holding out hope for an RS
Would cost 4k more… Triumph made their bike with a budget in mind. Aprilia don’t really care about the price of their bikes.
@@thierryfaquet7405 nah that’s not necessarily accurate at all. I didn’t say they needed to make the same exact bike. Mostly just spice up that majorly de-tuned inline triple.
How was it on the highway? I know it's a naked but would you be exhausted after 40 minutes at 80mph?
Yea, on any naked, I would not recommend for the highway. But this does have a little better protection than the other nakeds...but just a little.
I've had my Tuono 660 since March. I like it so much that I consider it my smaller sports tourer. It's not a buzz bomb, turns just less than 5000 rpms at 80. I've bought the SW-Motech saddlebags and their tail bag. It's perfect. And just for a basis of comparison, I also own a BMW R1250RT. I almost got a Ducati Supersport but this just felt better. I've had Ducatis before and love them too.
Also, bought a slightly larger windscreen and I find the saddle to be very comfortable, over longer distances also. No problems with it so far.
SF v4 worth 30k euro in my country due to tax.
The V4 Factory is 21k here in Germany, with tax. Sorry 😢
So ive owned several aprillias since 2007 the new ones are reliable yes they had some engine problems but so has Ford. Put my tuono next to my yamaha 900 gt. 90% of the time i jump on the Aprilia because they put a grin on your face
Good and interesting test but I keep my fantastic 2008 Honda Hornet ABS (with over 100 PS)! What a fantastic bike, engine (4-cyl. which I like much more, sound, revs, big usable rev-range), brakes, suspensions.. Still having lots of fun with it and ZERO issues! Just Japanese perfection! Since 10 years I'm using my Hornet even for touring (top case & heated grips) I can use it just for everything! 😉
an 890 Duke blows it out of the water ... almost same weight but a ton more torque and power
but looks ugly...
