19:33 For 60fps, a frame is rendered every 16.7 milliseconds. For 30fps, a frame is rendered every 33.3 milliseconds. But for 40fps, a frame is rendered every 25 milliseconds, which is halfway between 16.7 and 33.3 milliseconds (8.3 milliseconds). 40fps is only a 10 fps gain over 30fps, yet it feels 50% better than 30fps during gameplay. For consistency, frame time is even more important than framerate. Epic video!
Thanks for once again highlighting the fixes that myself, and the members of the teams I'm part of, have been working on throughout these past few years. GTA IV deserves to be preserved and restored so it can be experienced the way it was envisioned by the original devs at R* North.
2:47 In case you didn't know (because I surely didn't) you're supposed to use the left trackpad as a jog wheel for scrolling, basically drawing circles clockwise or anti-clockwise. That way you can scroll without lifting your finger.
He’s got a Steam Deck! Yes! I’ve actually been following your content for a while and have been modding IV on my Steam Deck for quite a while with the help of your videos. Loving the videos, man!
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS! Just as I was falling into temptation to replay this game on the steam deck i was afraid of the hell I'd have to go through modding the game but you made it so simple and now I can go back to the best version of Liberty City on the go. This is a massive favour you've done for a lot of fans like me...thank you so much!
Thank you for finally making this video! The struggle was real using the last video trying to figure out how to do this on steam deck with zero knowledge of using windows programs on linux.
Tjgm ur gta modding tutorials are the best I’ve been modding gta iv on pc for a while now and this is a great tutorial for anyone that has a steam deck and wants to get into modding gta iv you’re the best gta modding tutorial guy on yt! Big love from Australia!
Dude, I literally spent like 8 hours trying to mod this game months ago using some random ahh tutorials on youtube but linux is a bitch so I ended up making my performance worse. I cannot begin to say how thankful I am for a full steam deck tutorial on a niche game like this you're doing gods work
Amazing video, years ago when I wanted to mod the game I was always told that I needed to downgrade, that caused a ton of issues in the game and I ended up never using the fix mods. This is the first time I am modding the game and now I am ready to have a blast with it again, this is my favorite GTA and playing it on ultra with minor performance issues will be great.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THIS. I was planning on going through the steps on the Windows video, but on steam deck and that would've most likely felt like bashing my head in. So genuinely, thank you for putting in the time into making this video, I really appreciate it.
bro you came in clutch just now! i was wondering if i would be able to play with mods GTA IV on my linux system. I finished just now installing all mods you covered, and it feels great to play this game with the OG radio stations, a whole 'nother vibe! Can't thank you enough!
For those watching today. Console Visuals is now version 2.0 and Various Fixes is now version 2.0.2 BTW, huge thank you for the part about creating a link to the GTAIV folder on the desktop. I learned something new today
thank you bro I was just getting into GTA 4 on my PC but kept thinking about how it would feel better on the steam deck due to the games age (720p screen) and then you upload this. really helped me out and I've been enjoying it more on my deck vs pc. cheers mate and keep it up.
Bro makes this Game singlehandedly Steam Deck Verified and goes beyond that with a easy Turorial for New PC Users cannot thank enough for that youre a blessing for the Steam Deck Community. Do not forget to Subscribe Guys and Like
there is no way that my favorite gta youtuber managed to make a video about modding (my favorite thing about video games) my favorite gta game on my favorite handheld
I remember on my previous account (got deleted by accident) I asked for some help with GTA IV on the deck with radio restoration, I guess this is a response to that, thank you.
Thanks for once again giving this masterpiece the treatment it deserves. Shame that Rockstar wasn't able to make a good port to start with. I hope this will change with the definitive edition if there ever will be.
i love you man, you have made me into quite the smarty pants when it comes to my mods in the last two years and i’ve come a long way. cheers to you 🎉😂👍🏼
Some small notes on Steam Deck: When in Desktop mode, scrolling is done in circular motion, like on iPods. In regular Gaming mode, you tap the trackpad edges instead. When using on-screen keyboard, you can move it up and down by pressing START/Menu button on Deck.
here is a little trick: enable remote play on your steam decks steam client while in desktop mode and connect to it from your pc with steam link. easiest way to do that kind of stuff when you dont have a usb c dock or a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Wish I had a steam deck lol. Your videos helped me mod gta4 on my pc, so thank you for that. I like keeping my games as vanilla as possible when modding. Like bug fixing and vanilla friendly enhancements.
I beat you to this long ago, by following your last tutorial for pc, then jut moving the files into my steamdeck and it worked. Anyway I have a question. If I want to install some of the gameplay mods made for gta 4 is it possible? Do they have to be compatible with fusionfix and the other stuff? You should make a tutorial on which mods work with fusion fix and the best ones to transform gta 4.
Maybe next can we get a tutorial on how to the install liberty legacy trainer on the deck? I learned that it's possible to get to work with fusion overloader but I trust your tutorials the most when modding GTA IV
GTAIV runs well on the Steam Deck coz valve is the main actor behind the development of DXVK - and it will be tuned up on their systems. We still need a RE:IV.
Last time i tried modding GTA IV, i had to keep creating new save games as the bowling, mini games and computers all stopped working. Only way to fix it was to restart on a new save. Very heart breaking to learn it the hard way
Make sure you've updated/signed into the Rockstar Launcher BEFORE adding the launch options. I installed all the mods and stuff without launching the game in a while, oops!
Do you know if it’s possible to run OpenIV on Steam Deck? One of my favourite things to do on PC is install lore-friendly car models but I’m unable to run OpenIV on the Deck to do so.
@@pooler57 I'm talking about the logic of the system, how they managed to put realistic shadows in the old renderwere engine. I remember how strange the “ENBs” were in terms of shadows and lighting, and then these renderhooks came along as a new approach... I don't know, I think it would make a good video talking about GTA SA graphics mods....
It’s a shame RockStar is such a small Indy developer, if they had a bigger budget then I am sure they would be able to find time to apply these fixes in case they ever wanted to sell the game again….
Dude you are the only hope, if you got time please talk about the rdr2 error fffx bug , i have tried so many ways to find a fix but its all useless. Whenever i go to saint denis the game crashes.
You need to install Fusion Fix so it uses the update folder. If you try and replace the stock files then the RGL will "fix" them by patching the unmodified ones in.

Yess it's an amazing game. Damn Rockstar used to make real masterpieces back then
Ultimate way to play the game now

because of this beautiful man i can play gta sa in the most wonderful version ever! THX TJGM
My teenage mind can't comprehend that you're playing GTA4 on a handheld

BTW, huge thank you for the part about creating a link to the GTAIV folder on the desktop. I learned something new today
You can also add it as a place in Dolphin. It'll be in the sidebar for the easiest access. It's what I did for modding Yakuza games.
THANK YOU I just got my deck a couple months ago and I've been waiting to fix it before playing it. Impeccable timing!!

The mods are awesome. Played with all of these at the beginning of this year and it was an awesome experience.

Very detailed, good video 👍
If I could, I would subscribe to your channel twice. Amazing vid as always my man. Keep it up.
Bless you for that guide.
Radio Fix can also keep both of the songs, new and old. That's really good.
a lot of crucial information when it comes to installing on linux here very good tutorial
Really helped me out. Thanks man!
You are the best, man
thanks for that good content
Note: the left touchpad scrolls like an Original iPod click wheel while in desktop mode.

Wow you even gave recommended settings for 40fps? What a chad
This week I installed it on the Deck. Please get out of my walls.
GTAIV runs well on the Steam Deck coz valve is the main actor behind the development of DXVK - and it will be tuned up on their systems. We still need a RE:IV.
no valve isnt. the only thing they did is hiring the main dev doitsujin...
woah thanks for this!
Please can you do more guides for steamdeck, thank you great video :)

I wished this game handled mixed inputs well because I really like gyro aiming and that’s best mapped to a mouse.
Your videos are awesome and super helpful. Any idea if you will ever make a mod series/guide on red dead redemption 2?
Blessed video
do a circular motion on the left track pad to scroll. not up and down. protip!
R* Launcher required on Deck? Should I downgrade first to never have it installed?
Do you know if it’s possible to run OpenIV on Steam Deck? One of my favourite things to do on PC is install lore-friendly car models but I’m unable to run OpenIV on the Deck to do so.
My god the video i didn't expect from you ❤❤ TY. Could you also make the same with gta sa?
Not sure about SA, maybe in the future.
There is always an issue after installing radio downgrade mod where you can’t hear the original songs. It requires editing a few XMLs
Wait, I don’t have a steam deck. Why am I watching this video continues watching the full video.
I cannot install enbseries on my windows 10 when I put d3d9 enb file the game doesnt launch any fix please I want to use cryenb
Love it
Make a video explaining the logic of the renderhook graphics mod for GTA SA.
Wdym the logic? I can do it because I use it

Wait this is for the revised Episode of Liberty City version? I thought a lot of the issues were fixed in the re release
3:02 Hello There.
You legend
are there any other mods you reccomend apert from the ones that fix the game?
Game runs like crap for me now I'm getting 20 fps on SD OLED what gives? Do I need to lower graphic fidelity in settings? Thanks.
Thank you for clean up instructions, now my disk have space!
P. S jk, your video is great!
This can be easily taken as a how to mod GTA on Linux kind of video
Is it possible to add cosmetics or big mods like zolika patch?
Liberty Legacy has cosmetic options and works on CE, Zolikas stuff will never work on CE or things like Steam Deck as they are against it.
without steam deck icons i wouldn't know what button to press
Hi! Is the performace fixed with FusionFix or do we still need dxvk?
You don't need DXVK on Steam Deck, Proton covers the same thing.
Any idea as to how we remove Rockstar’s terrible DRM for those who travel without an internet connection?
Pirate the game
Watching this video at work but plan to try it out when I get home. Has anyone been able to add different mod like gun packs?
Y para instalar el mod liberty legacy trainner?
hey, do you know any way to use .NET scripts on steam deck in Gta 4 or Gta 5? Is it even possible?
NICE!
I modded the game on pc with both FusionFix and Various Fixes but the rain splash effect is still missing. Anyone can help me out?
can you make a tutorial on how to install enb for gta sa on steam deck? appreciate it
can you make a video on how to setup gta 4 multiplayer for steam deck🙏
Is there a graphics mod for the complete edition on pc
You can use any timecyc mods. Only ENBs won't work but tbh most of them are OTT and don't fix underlining render issues.
Well, it's time to install GTA IV on the Deck
Is there anyway I can Load trainers or asi mods

Just Installed Ubuntu on my ROG Ally cuz the controls Kept resetting. Seems a way better experience Expect i can't change the CPU Watt.

I fucking love you
Have you modded San Andreas on Steam Deck yet?
yeah fixed but some stutters there and there, idk why
What am I doing wrong? After doing these mods I'm now getting 20 fps...
👍
all i want is for them to fix the camera. please ping me if that is fixed.

Bro i thought the downgrader broke like a year ago on the deck. HOW.
Edit:I didn't know you didn't need to downgrade it to mod the game. Huh.
