GTA IV is very masterpiece, I really loved to walk around and take the train around the city. There're too many tiny details that make this city come to life.
If they would combine all the details and features of 4 including the vehicle behavior and physics with water, gta 5 woukd have been a great game. I only hope 6 will.
@@brandoncaldwell95 They did turn out well with RDR2 right and rockstar is a company that sticks to perfection instead of overestimated promises like cyberpunk 2077. So I think that they have made a sweet game that us gamers would love. Hopefully they have made a compelling story this time because the story of V has no sense at all apart from the action sequences.
I like how the cops spawning didn’t make every pedestrian and other car despawn. And that they actually use tactics against you like snipers. I’ve also see road strips I think. Meanwhile, in GTAV, I stab a guy in the desert, 2 stars, and it doesn’t even get intense, just tediously annoying
it's also generic, the spawning system use same shared models vs gta 4 each area on the map has different police presence, some have low police presence, some high or even none unless your wanted, in which game will increase cop count vs gta 5 all areas use same cop count and response times are random globally, regular cops don't differ much apart from where they from and armor they get above 3+ stars, local swats are nice touch but are just so generic and dull looking i mistake them as fib or noose, like what are they suppose to be? why are they driving sheriff suv? why do some missions refer them as NOOSE and in some as LSPD Tactical Teams?? And if they we're suppose to be FIB, the fib variant is mission only. Police Snipers are also non-existant in freeroam, only in missions like Blitz Play. I think GTA 6 should have some variants for swat models, so it's easier to tell which faction they belong (Local, NOOSE, FIB)
In GTA5 the cops basically juat spawn on you in a radius, so if you're on foot they'll just spawn in front of you. I did testing with invincibility and its just braindead
The police tactics in GTA IV were really bad, in free range you have the police together waiting for you to shoot them with an RPG, it doesn't help how easy it is to escape from them on foot, it doesn't matter if you have 3 or 6 search stars , you just have to turn around and run, the cops aren't going to shoot you, they're just going to chase you, last time I lasted 30 minutes with a 6 star wanted level, I just got bored because of how dumb the AI is from GTA IV. I can at least give GTA V a point for having more aggressive police.
i always loved the fighting in this game. the knockouts were so cool with the rag doll effect. also knowing bas rutten did the mocap you can really tell it is him throwing kicks,punches and headbutts .
I spent hours and hours playing this online, even the audio detail was amazing with headphones - I miss this game so much, the story was 10/10 and the overall design and gritty looks that Liberty City deserves just added and added to it being a gem
Just wanted to say, I really appreciate you going out of your way to showcase what you're referencing and talking about! Just describing it is one thing, but setting up the scenes and capturing everything so that it's enjoyable looks effortless here but surely takes quite a bit of work. I admired your finding little details in GTA IV and the Mod showcase videos, which made me motivated to mod GTA IV as a whole, especially the Biker Experience video. In which I am currently working on mods in TLAD. Since before your Biker Experience video, there were no mods for EFLC. Honestly, TLAD and TBoGT deserved to have a more mod showcase of it own.

The cut content of snow and mysterious hospital should've been in the game. Snow fits the game so well with its dark gritty tone that should've been part of the hub world and the depressive look of snow makes the game better, the mysterious hospital should've been included as well as another place to be respawn and it would've been better to expand the game as it has a lot of interiors unlike GTA V.
Like I said in the old video snow would probably happen at some point after the story ends due to fact the game takes place during October. A very festive reward for beating a gritty and brutal storyline.
I laughed when the NPC drove into his garage door. Also, look at the car before it. The way the car suspension moves as it goes up the driveway and bounces back down is hyper realistic to me. And then the NPC before that turns off the street and almost runs someone down. Then the pedestrian starts acting up. It's brilliant.

there is legitimately an entire generation of youngins that never even had a reason to play this! i know lots of people had fond memories of vice city or san andreas, but this one is it for me
I recently played through GTA 4 in the last year, and honestly it’s probably my favorite game that Rockstar has ever put out. Furthermore, it’s probably one of my favorite games of all time, and really left an impact on me.
I played thus game again the other week and even though the graphics aren't the best, the detail to the damage on cars when crashing and the individual dents blew me away and impressed me so much as we don't actually have anything that can do this today. The physics of the cars is so much more fun also and the actual amount of detail in the liberty city streets was also something in a league of its own even still to this day. No other game is as impressive as gta iv is

At 0:47 due to the GTA VI leaks we may see this feature return, the option to buy and sell drugs was seen to be an interaction in the leaked footage, hopefully that feature doesn't become cut alpha/beta content for GTA VI down the road...
Man this game reached a height for its time, few of today's games can hope to accomplish. No wonder the internet back then went nuts about GTA IV. RDR2, both Watch Dogs 1 and 2 are like the only games that managed to pull off the "Living Breathing World" after 2008.
played both of these watch_dogs titles but they never convinced me as much as GTA IV + EfLC did. the sloppy, bad ubisoft physics - unfortunately part of all their games - make it way less enjoyable for me. just drive a car in w_d and hit something, then do the same in IV. a whole different level. my money is still on: nothing ever came close to IV + EfLC in the ways of detailed realism in open worlds except RDR2. not even GTA V, there are many videos evidencing that. and nothing apart from rockstar games, either.
I remember seeing a video of someone playing GTA 4 with a snow mod and man it looked amazing, made the game’s atmosphere even better than it already is.
I think they cut the snow because it just wouldn't have felt as real as the rest of the city. I lived in Brooklyn for years, I've dealt with my share of NYC winters, it's not just about white sidewalks and grey skies, it's also about slush ponds and invisible icy patches and black ice and salt and huge snow banks and parked cars hidden under feet of snow and drifts and piles that last for months after the weather clears. The snow would've taken anyone out of the immersion who lived in a city with significant snow, they would've complained, it would've filtered down to everyone else... it would've made it feel more like the game was GTA3, I think. If they wanted to do it correctly, it would've taken resources to the tune of half of another game entirely. By axing it, they avoided a lot of problems. Red Dead Redemption 2 handled the seasons in an interesting way, by keeping biomes static and moving the story through them, but again, it was too complex to add realistic snow everywhere, so they did it permanently in a few appropriate places. Now that Rockstar is done making new, hyperrealistic games, after GTAOL became a money-printing machine, it's unfortunate that we'll never see Liberty City with procedurally-generated realistic snow falls.
All these little attentions to details. It’s kind of sad that this 14 year old game is objectively more complex (and subjectively, freaking LEAGUES better) than new games, like the Saints Row reboot that just came out.

im not sure if it was taken off in an update but I remember pretty much all food stands having red propane tanks on them and now when I play I just dont see that anymore. like at all.
Instead of doing all those remasters, they should of made a gta 4 plus or something like that. It would be gta 4 but not remaster, but a contain beta content. Imagine walking in middle park in the snow while seeing the lake frozen over, and maybe even be able to throw snow balls. Theres so much stuff they could of added that was said/ rumored to be first added, for example being able to put stuff in trunks of cars, ride ferry boats, visit liberty state, and much more.
Kinda wonder if it was the limits of consoles at the time, and if GTA 4 would've been PC exclusive had we have potentially gotten this cut content ? On top of other things like SA level customisation etc?

Based on things being said on the radio and the trees being golden, the game takes place in autumn, so it makes sense there's no snow.

GTA 4 with updated graphics and gameplay features of Sleeping Dogs and RDR2 will make the best game ever.
Don't forget the Ford vehicles catch on fire more often then usual in this game.

Kinda wonder if it was the limits of consoles at the time, and if GTA 4 would've been PC exclusive had we have potentially gotten this cut content ? On top of other things like SA level customisation etc?

They brought the #5 Crash Injuries feature back in Gta 5 because some NPC's die when you crash into their cars with a lot of force.
