Likewise its was great to see ellefson getting on with life..I've been a megadeth fan since 1990..I listen to other bands and other types of music but I always go back to megadeth..I totally disagree with what mustaine did ..I think theres more to this on mustaine part

It was for the lack of a better term, a corporate decision to sever ties with Ellefson. I neither condemn or condone Mustaine's decision but from a business standpoint he was trying to protect the Megadeath brand. With today's ridiculous woke culture the SJWs would have tried to crucify the band if they didn't do what they did.

One thing I admire from David is his bass line is always audible. I don't need a high end speaker system to hear it. For this interview, I like how David reacts when others making D jokes. He just laughs it off. Fyi, I don't support what David did. I hope it doesn't leave any trauma and all party can learn from that mistake.
His snarling tone from Countdown is a sound I aspire to achieve when recording basslines for my own music. He really is a bass legend, every bit as much as Cliff.
Proud that I never stop supporting David! He always seemed like a nice person to me, besides I was able to send him my merch with my drawings and he accepted it and supported me with my work as a digital artist. David is incredible, I love to see his good sense of humor after all

It was always Dave Mustaine and his project, everyone else was hired hands, nothing more, it never was a "Band" and the word band goes back, it's a fellowship, a tribe etc. Ellefson got to stay there for so long because he didn't challenge Dave and stood up against Dave's ego.

Ellefson and Mustaine started Megadeth together and to me without him there is no Megadeth. Others were all temporary guys who made the band great during its various phases.

Hmmm…If…IF what Ellefson is saying here; that nothing happened until she was over 18 is true then maybe it’s just a really gross consequence of his choices. The whole thing is kind of weird though… “They never forgave me for suing them for $20 million”…“She initiated it”. It’s kinda coming off like everything is everyone else’s fault…
He’s a good bass player and a Legend but at best, he made some extremely bad choices
I'm still waiting for the hordes of at the time underage teenage band groupies who wrangled their way backstage so they could get nailed by a Rockstar to come out of the woodwork. Back then those girls looked at it as a badge of honor.

Even if he and his wife have an open marriage (I've know a few fairly successful musicians who do) it's still pretty odd to have sexual interactions with someone younger than your own kids...

This isn't surprising Mustaine has never got along with anyone .. long term . The guy hasn't been able to keep a steady lineup , for 30 years . The fact that he has gone threw at least 6 lead guitarist says a lot . Nobody can stand the guy , i feel bad for Ellefeson , he gave his career to that band .
I get what happened with Chris Poland. But in every other case Mustaine just refuses to stay on good terms with people and it's his own fault.

I just lost a lot of respect for Mustaine.
Kinda odd that Dave's made so many egregious missteps throughout the course of his both his life and his career, yet he's never once suggested kicking himself out of the band. Then David has just _one_ indiscretion (that isn't something for anybody but him, his wife and God to work out amongst themselves), and suddenly he's a persona non grata. For someone who was very unceremoniously given the boot by Metallica, you'd think Dave might be a little more open to second chances. But with David already having been out of the band once before, there's clearly some history there that I must not be aware of, so maybe I can't talk.
I wish they wouldn't have remasturbated the back catalog.
New Megadeth is going to suck anyway because Dave’s voice is gone and they have to tune everything down to Kilgore and it sounds nothing like megadeth. They are done anyway honestly!

Was a bonehead move for David to not agree with remixing the catalog if they were not going to do a "Lars-Mix" on the bass. This is a fact, if you're standing in the way of everyone making millions of dollars over some petty principle, you are going to anger a lot of people.
Ellefson is in the dark about the incident as much as we are.

Doesn't seem like you put any effort into pre pro at all let alone "in depth" prep with most of your questions. That doesn't show respect to your guest. Great interview, but I find it really interesting how you dog on Dave Mustaine heavily here then two years later you have an interview with him, basically fan-girling towards him. I wonder how he would’ve acted if he saw this before hand.
Dave Mustaine is a hypocrite. I first knew of and loved Metallica. I later heard the firing Mustaine story, and felt Hetfield was a control freak with Metallica quickly becoming sellouts.
But I now think Mustaines a hypocrite.
And I earlier felt that thought watching behind music w Mustaine firing an ex drummer or bassist.

Noe I guess the Lucids ok. What David Ellefson could do is to start an alternative metal band with Chris Poland- Jeff Young & Chuck Behler. And Ellefson has to step up to the plate and sing the songs. They need to sit back - listen to a whole bunch of metal & thrash - ect ect. Get inspired- get motivated & write some insanely intense Metal songs.
And also start playing a bunch of Megadeth song with the original members of Megadeth. But totally keep Lucid as a cool side project.
In summary- Ellefson needs to start writing his own crazy metal stuff with the original Megadeth members. Call it MuStained or MegaStain 😅👍
And if Chuck Behler falls short. I am a drummer & I can play a whole bunch of Megadeth song such as-
502 - Holy Wars- peace sells- psychotron- head crusher- Washington is next- hangar 18- go to hell- The killing road- symphony of destruction- 1000 times goodbye- Mary Jane. Ect- ect...
