Love this and love this channel ! I have started an ho layout recently after a long time away from it , your great layout gives me inspiration even tho the scales are different , greatest hobby ever !
Something about the way you made these shots and the trains you ran look eerily similar to the I Love Toy Trains I watched when i was a child (i could swear that shot of the red commadore in the corner curve is exactly like it), so thanks for the nostalgia! The whistle sound Lionel used on their legacy Southern Cresent Limited Pacific is my favorite of all model locomotives (I think one of the 261 whistle options is either identical or incredibly similar)
Chris you have out done your self with this video. Every shot was unique and enjoyable! I really loved how you had the freight trains running in the background along with the shots where you had the different passenger trains run by each other. Great idea for a video, and great camera work too! I find myself wondering how you get the time to do such well thought out videos! My wife gets annoyed if I spend too long in the train room...! Thanks for a great channel.
Congratulations on almost 20,000 subscribers Chris you deserve it. As for my favorites I would have to say that the Southern Crescent and the Blue Comet are rating very high in my book but I do like the looks for the 59er. Thanks for another great video.
A fun and exciting video Chris, well done! I've never found out just how fast any of my stuff runs. The first time I tried a speed test on one of my MTH 4-4-0's it flew off the (temporary) dining room table layout and landed in a chair! Needless to say there were no second attempts! MTH engines and smoke? Take it from me, if Raid made smoke fluid you could use MTH steam engines as yard foggers!
Believe me, I was standing at the edge of the layout during some of these shots to make sure nothing flew off my table, haha! MTH still has the best smoke action - agree 100%!
6:33 Man that blue comet smokes a lot. I only have 1 o gauge train that I own, my grandpa has a few that I use sometimes. It’s the o gauge polar express on Amazon, and my aunt just recently told me that this fabric on the inside of the smoke chamber is what’s used to produce the smoke in vapes, so the o gauge polar express technically vapes every time I use the smoke feature
Just had an epiphany! We need dining cars with breakfast, lunch, and dinner “flavored” smoke! BTW, I run a smaller scale with 25+ steam engines & 20+ diesels. You me feel like a piker!
I do enjoy your videos. A few questions if I may , the Royal Blue at the eleven forty mark. It was going so fast I could not tell its wheel arrangement. Also a good few of your models seem or could be What If or Never Was liveries on the steam engines. So give me a chance to research and see which ones were full size real or more model size real.
Excellent video!! I'm a new subscriber, and very impressed with your layout!! I love fast passenger trains, both real and model, and you can't get any faster than the Acela!! Most layouts I see have their trains moving like The Hooterville Cannonball, that's the old slow train featured in the 60s show Petticoat Junction! I have those plated MTH Santa Fe cars, they are sharp, and Weaver put out some nice stuff, I have a set of 20th Century Limited cars. Keep up the good work 👍!!
Not gonna lie I am a new person to the train community I guess but the layout is beautiful my favorite train that you have in your fleet is maybe the union pacific big boy and the Santa Fe 2-10-10-2
Well first of all Chris I like to wish you a belated happy birthday, and thank you for sharing all those great looking engines you have in their cars you have a great looking collection there 👍👍
Hi Chris. You are so cool in these videos great job. I have been working long hours as a 18 wheeler. But I am getting worried about our hobby future. So much is made in China. Maybe a video on how we would feel if our trains were made again back in the USA like Lionel did so many years ago. So I am asking you maybe you could come up with a video and see how others feel. If I had to pay more I would if it made again in USA Thanks MARK
Hi Mark! This is definitely a topic that I see in many of the forums and one that is tough to tackle for so many reasons. I would need to read up on Global Trade and Patent policies before taking on this topic, haha! I know we would all like to see Lionel trains manufactured in the USA again if it were possible.
@@RBPTrains Lionel, MTH, and other trains COULD be made here in the US but the question is WHAT would you be willing to give up to keep the prices down and affordable to make that happen? Trust me, one of the things driving the expense of the Chinese made products is the sophisticated electronics that many hobbyists now crave. Imagine the expense if those electronics were made here! So, if having the trains made here would mean returning to old-style conventional control with basic "bell n' whistle" would you be happy with that? As I run conventional anyway it wouldn't bother me in the least, but everyone might not agree. There's no easy "one size fits all" answer here.
I thought I was going crazy because I saw legos on the layout turns out some of the buildings have legos Staying up late does crazy things to a person but great video nice to see the fast trains for once
Hey, Chris, have you considered retracking your layout with t rail and cork? Your engines sound so beautiful but Fastrak is so loud you can't even hear them!
Actively taking donations, haha! I wish I could redo my track work. Prior to building this layout, I had already invested in Fastrack since this was on my floor. When I had the table built, I simply moved it all up onto the table. Fastrack is crazy loud, especially when the trains are going fast. I priced out new track (my Dad uses Gargraves and it is nice and quiet) but it would set me back on getting more engines and trains to run. Fastrack will stay...for now. Thanks for watching!
You have a nice collection of trains near my friend I am curious what they all fit on your layout just want to know did you did you get them from train stores or the Internet??.🧐😎👍👏
I wish they would all fit on the layout, haha! I have shelves in the room and some other storage for trains but it gets messy in there. :) I buy a lot of trains from my local shops in MD and also shop with Trainworld and Trainz. Thanks for watching!
I know I'm about 2 weeks late, but first time coming across your channel frankly I enjoyed all 16 minutes of this. I do have one odd little question, ever have plans to try and get a T1 onto your layout since I saw you had her older sister the S1 on your layout. I have an American Flyer Guage model set so I know I won't be seeing that on my layout any time soon
I'm almost disappointed you ran Thomas, Annie, and Clarabel in the right order. I would have had fun figuring out how many different ways I could get them wrong. XD
Gotta love that ozone smell from the pullmor motor in the Yellowbelly C&O Hudson!!! That's one aspect I miss with the newer can motor models even though I believe the high end can motors to be superior for pure performance. That smell, along with the smell of our real Christmas trees are some of the earliest memories of my Childhood Christmases. Hey, BTW, did you call that gunmetal prewar semi scale hudson a '783'? I believe it is a 763e. The 783 was an MPC reissue from around 1980 and was black. The most rare of all prewar hudsons is of course the gunmetal gray semi scale with the coal tender. The 700e is still the most valuable though. As always Chris, I really enjoy watching your work in these video productions. thank you!!
Rats! I always make a mistake in these videos. You are correct, I am looking at the engine as I type this comment and it is a 763e. That is what 16 straight hours of working on this video did to me. My brain is scrambled eggs and I wish I had a proper editor! Must have had MPC on my mind... Thanks for watching Ralph!
@@RBPTrains Hey, mistakes or no mistakes, keep having fun!!! I started collecting trains with my father in 1972 and quickly became familiar with the then current MPC offerings as well as the postwar and prewar trains available during those years. My knowledge of trains starts to wain after about 1996 a bit but I do love these modern scale models - just wish they'd go ahead and put scale flanged wheels on them, they can take the curves. My 1937 model 700E can negotiate an 054 curve fairly well so certainly anything wider would be just fine.👍
We had a "Hudson Night" at one of our collector club meetings a few months back. One of the members brought in a 700E, and in beautiful condition too! Another member asked him what he paid for it. "Too much!" was the answer!
Great video Chris Really enjoy. Building a layout with fastrack did U use something for noise reduction under your track? Keep up your great videos Billy
Thanks Billy! I did not use anything to reduce noise as nothing seems to work but others recommended carpet under the track to reduce noise. I think that helps. Thanks for watching!
@@billysdepot1090 O Gauge trains are noisy to begin with. There's some things you can do to mitigate the noise a bit but nothing will eliminate it entirely. Some lay carpet under the tracks, some use foam insulation board. They'll never run as quietly as HO or N Gauge trains, it's just the nature of the beast.
very awesome video again I want to have a scale trains collection someday but in my state of life right now and the future plus the price conversion from US dollars to Philippine Peso, the prices will be astronomical anyways another video from your boy JB, how many locomotives do you have in your collection and can you make a "great locomotive count" like erictstrains did thaaaaaaaaaannnnkkkkk yoooouuuu
Thank you Joseph! You will have your own collection one day for sure! As for the number of locomotives, I am not sure. I would need to go around the room and tally them up. Nowhere near the amount of trains that Eric has though! Thanks for watching!
Wow Chris you really have an awesome collection I really love passenger trains it seems that you have just about all my favorites there but one train I was hoping to see was the Burlington Zephyr do you happen to have one of those to run?
Great video as always! Do you have any shays from Lionel? I bought a 2 truck shay from them last year and I absolutely love it! One of my older trains is one of my fastest. It’s a Lionel southern 8302. The little thing goes flying around the track and has a habit of derailing
Alright Chris the good news is I subscribed to your channel after watching for sometime, bad news I don't run O gauge trains. I just got back into the hobby and my go to has been HO and G
Thank you for subscribing and welcome aboard! Doesn't matter if you don't run O Gauge. So many great scales and trains out there. I enjoy watching videos in other scales all the time. Enjoy those trains and thanks for watching! :)

You have a kick ass layout and setup and all. I have a question for you, Have you ever tried to make your own style of passenger train cars and baggage car and mail car at all?
Just picked up my first passenger car set, the Norfolk & Western Passenger Set. I still need to get one more car and it will be complete. What is the ultimate version of a passenger car set in your opinion?
Great first set! As for the "ultimate" set, I can't pick just one. I picked up a book recently that detailed passenger trains and listed all of the actual coaches that a train would pull. After reading it, I thought it would be really cool to have a full set of coaches (11-13 cars long). The only company I have seen make these is Golden Gate Depot. Great company but everything is made in small batches and costs thousands. For now, I will enjoy the Lionel, MTH and Atlas sets! Thanks for watching and great question!
@@RBPTrains Thank you for the thoughtful reply. We can limit what you think the best passenger set from Lionel/MTH. Really enjoy your videos and keep up the great work!

I wish they would all fit on the layout, haha! I have shelves in the room and some other storage for trains but it gets messy in there. :) I buy a lot of trains from my local shops in MD and also shop with Trainworld and Trainz. Thanks for watching!
Hey Chris.
Can you please show us more of the Baltimore and Ohio at about 12 minutes in this video? I would love to see it in a bit more detail! 😁👍
You bet! That train set will get some more run time in a future video. Thanks for watching David!
Can't get enough of them! By far my passenger sets outnumber my freight.
Me either! Problem with passenger sets is storage!
XD
I have a fondness for MPC, partly because they are the trains i saw in the Sears and JC Penney catalogs that I knew we couldn't afford growing up.
"We call it the Hot Dog."
That gave me a good laugh hearing that! XD
Haha! So true though. My nephew was here today and the Challenger was back on the track and rolling!
The locomotives : finally he let us show people our power!
You've just set the bar for my next train video!
Awesome!
Awesome run Chris!
Thanks John!
I’ve watched Chris (I think it’s Chris?) since 3k subs. Great channel. Such amazing growth
Thanks for your support Ethan! It has been a fun ride :)
Hello!
Amazing video it must have been a real chore switching them on and off the layout also I love the camera angles
Thanks Wyse Guy! Yes, it took some time to switch up the trains. I don't think I saw my family for 2-3 days when I was making this video, haha!
Great video Chris
Really enjoy. Building a layout with fastrack did U use something for noise reduction under your track?
Keep up your great videos
Billy
Thanks Billy! I did not use anything to reduce noise as nothing seems to work but others recommended carpet under the track to reduce noise. I think that helps. Thanks for watching!
Thanks @@RBPTrains
@@billysdepot1090 O Gauge trains are noisy to begin with. There's some things you can do to mitigate the noise a bit but nothing will eliminate it entirely. Some lay carpet under the tracks, some use foam insulation board. They'll never run as quietly as HO or N Gauge trains, it's just the nature of the beast.
@@wayneantoniazzi2706 Thanks Wayne
@@billysdepot1090 You're welcome!
very awesome video again I want to have a scale trains collection someday but in my state of life right now and the future plus the price conversion from US dollars to Philippine Peso, the prices will be astronomical anyways another video from your boy JB, how many locomotives do you have in your collection and can you make a "great locomotive count" like erictstrains did thaaaaaaaaaannnnkkkkk yoooouuuu
Thank you Joseph! You will have your own collection one day for sure! As for the number of locomotives, I am not sure. I would need to go around the room and tally them up. Nowhere near the amount of trains that Eric has though! Thanks for watching!
You couldn't forget about the polar express!
Wow Chris you really have an awesome collection I really love passenger trains it seems that you have just about all my favorites there but one train I was hoping to see was the Burlington Zephyr do you happen to have one of those to run?
The Burlington Zephyr is on the list but I do not have on yet. Thanks for watching!
Great video as always! Do you have any shays from Lionel? I bought a 2 truck shay from them last year and I absolutely love it! One of my older trains is one of my fastest. It’s a Lionel southern 8302. The little thing goes flying around the track and has a habit of derailing
Thanks! The only Shay I have is a MTH Premier C&O. Would be great to add a Lionel at some point.
Your trains are the coolest and nicest to ok and best train layouts to ok
I’m sure joshua lionel would love you’re layout you got going on!
Thank you for sharing this video brother
Thanks for watching! Was a fun video to make. Room is still a mess from it!
@@RBPTrains you are welcome brother and how much fun was it.
@@RBPTrains when I was younger I did run some o scale I probably still have them in the attic packed away.
@@GeneralNukem If Chris's channel doesn't bring you over to "The Dark Side" nothing will!
Or maybe HO is "The Dark Side" and Chris' channel will bring you back "Into The Light?'
Or something.
You have a kick ass layout and setup and all. I have a question for you, Have you ever tried to make your own style of passenger train cars and baggage car and mail car at all?
I have not attempted any custom trains but know some people who are all about customizing. Lots of skill and patience needed for that endeavor!
@@RBPTrains ok cool
Your awsome bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice trains
