  • Here it is, the Complete Travel Guide to Grand Teton National Park including its neighbors, Yellowstone National Park and Jackson. If you are thinking about visiting Grand Teton National Park then this video was made for you!
    I've been coming to Grand Teton for years and have been fortunate to have toured or discovered most of the Park because my wife grew up in nearby Jackson. And my love for the area grows with every visit and this video is sharing my knowledge, my favorites, and my love for this special place.
    The video discusses where to stay (hotels, lodges, camping), where to eat, where to get coffee (unfortunately not in Grand Teton - go to Jackson!), and what there is to do in this amazing place. There are many great videos about the park but my hope is that this video is the most helpful yet.
    Thank you for watching and please SUBSCRIBE for more videos on Grand Teton National Park.

    It's July 24th 10:21am mountain and I've done sunrise at Schwabachers landing, caught the 2nd boat to across Jenny Lake and hiked Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point plus Half of the Jenny Lake overlook. I'm collecting happy cudos from my daughter about missing the crowds...I want to thank you guys for the great travel guide...❤ Your recommendations were spot on...FYI...since we were essentially on one of the first boats across and we paid cash, it only cost us 20.00 total round trip for both of us. If you used CC it was 40....Thank you again😊

      Thank you for the lovely comment! So glad you were able to experience Jenny Lake (and Hidden Falls/Inspiration Point) AND Schwabachers Landing. Isn't sunrise there incredible! I am not going to GTNP/Jackson again this year so have to wait until next year to go back (sadly) - probably go in the Fall next (the colors in Falls are so beautiful). Finally - thanks of the advise re: Cash v. CC (always good to save some $). Enjoy the rest of your visit.

    We have visited GTNP and Jackson once (September 2020 when we absolutely loved it!) and are returning this September (2023). I found your video very informative, and you have a great voice for video. :) We saw a lot, but I appreciate your mention of the Chapel of the Sacred Heart, as that is one I was not familiar with. We also can't wait to drive the Moose Wilson Road since we didn't do that as we spent a lot of time looking for bears that were supposedly spotted around Elk Ranch Road. I'll be watching more of your videos, and already wish you had some for all the parks!

    • @traveleaz
      @traveleaz  Рік тому

      Thank you very much for your exceptionally kind comments. I really appreciate it. I am so glad you went to Jackson/GTNP - I was there in 2020 also (stayed at the Fireside Resort that time). Definitely go on the Moose Wilson Road - it's best in the early morning (before 9am usually but we've seen animals at all times during the day). There is still construction on the road (it was quite bad last year) - if you have a truck or SUV with more ground clearance, all the better. But as you can tell in the video, we love this road. I plan on doing most of the west coast (Rockies and west) National Parks, but it will take a few years to do them all. I was recently in Yosemite and that video comes out in a couple of weeks. Enjoy GTNP in September - for the first time in many years, I'm not going this year (well, it's not planned). I'm jealous! Thank you for watching.

    I so enjoyed your beautiful video with the particularly helpful tips about sunrise at Schwabacher. I definitely feel nature can be immensely spiritual so I hope to experience that while there.
    I’m taking my husband and son to GT and Yellowstone for our first time as we live in Scotland and I want to show them some of the places that I think make America wonderful (I’m American). I hope to have regular family reunions at GT as I feel so drawn to that place, so I’ll be keeping the Fireside Cabins in mind as well. We’re camping at Colter Bay and I’m excited for that too.
    We’ll be cooking the whole time and I’ve not been able to get much info about what meat and vegetables are available at the grocery stores in the park. Will we need to go to Jackson for supplies? Anywhere you’d recommend (we prefer local, organic but not stupid expensive if at all possible). Are there butchers or small farms or anything like that?
    Thanks again and look forward to checking out your other videos.

    • @traveleaz
      @traveleaz  Рік тому

      There are not really grocery stores in the Park - there is a small place near Moose that sells a few basics. However, we buy our groceries from Jackson at Albertsons - they have almost everything and it's "affordable." I might add, I really appreciate your comments and you're going to have such a great time in GTNP. I've been to Scotland several times (my great grandparents were from Ayrshire). By the way, my Yellowstone video will be out in a couple of weeks.

    Hi, Its an awesome video, I did vist grand Teton once but never thought that it can be represented so nicely before watching this. • @traveleaz
      @traveleaz  Рік тому +1

      Hi there - thank you so much for the very nice comments. The video (of me) was done on a Canon EOS r5 and most of the video in the park was on the same camera plus a little on a gopro and a Fuji x-s10 (which I don't have anymore). The filming in the park (not with me in it) was done over several years (none of it this year) although I did film me this year - in May. I edit on Premiere Pro. I didn't use a drone in the park - any drone shots near a national park I use stock footage.

      I had to look up Reunion Island - wow, beautiful!! Thank you very much for the comment, I really appreciate it. It is possible to visit Grand Teton from October 15-20. I've been there a few times during late September through Mid-October. The Tetons particularly are beautiful with a dusting of snow on the peaks. However, it's possible you'll get snow during this period (so be prepared for that) and it does get colder in the evenings. I hop you go - you will love the Park (and Jackson).

    Hi. We have been researching about Grand Teton for sometime! We have booked tickets for the last weekend of May! Will the upper parts of it still be covered in snow ? We were planning on doing paintbrush canyon cascade hike..

    • @traveleaz
      @traveleaz  Рік тому

      I'll call some of my friends in Jackson (might be a week or more before I get a response). We have spent time in GT in May and the answer from our experiences have been yes and no (sorry, horrible answer). There is some snow in the park at higher elevations in May and this can spread to lower elevations if the weather decides to be fickle (and it can be). Long story short, GT weather can be anything so plan on the unpredictable. I would expect some snow on the hike you have planned (in May)

    we are going end of may , please tell me about weather.👍

    • @traveleaz
      @traveleaz  Рік тому +1

      The weather in Grand Teton National Park in May can be quite variable, as it is a transitional month between spring and summer. Generally, temperatures can range from highs in the 50s to 60s Fahrenheit (10-20°C) during the day, to lows in the 20s to 30s Fahrenheit (-1 to 4°C) at night. It is common to experience cool and breezy conditions, and there can be occasional rain or snow showers.
      It's worth noting that weather conditions can vary significantly depending on the specific area of the park you are in, as well as the elevation. For example, higher elevations will generally be cooler and experience more precipitation. Additionally, weather patterns can change quickly in the mountains, so it's always a good idea to check the forecast before heading out and to be prepared for a range of conditions.

    What about best places for sunsets?

    • @traveleaz
      @traveleaz  Рік тому

      The sun sets behind the Tetons (if you're in or around the Park) so there is good photography with the colors of the sunset and sky behind the mountain range. In my opinion, the best sunset photos would be from Jackson Lake Overlook, Teton Point Turnout (I have this sunset photo in my house - great sky over the Tetons), Snake River Overlook, Jackson Lake Lodge. There were a few years when I went and the smoke from the forest fires gave some really interesting photos of the Tetons at sunset (sad as that is). Thanks for the question.

    • @traveleaz
      @traveleaz  10 місяців тому +17

      Yellowstone IS only "a few minutes away." The closest points between the parks (by road) is only 7 miles (north GTNP and south Yellowstone). If you're traveling from one park to the other, this is the route you would take unless you have a need to travel through Idaho. However, if you're traveling in the winter (which very few do) certain entrances to Yellowstone are closed and then, you will be traveling further to get from one path to the other. Otherwise, for the 75% of visitors to Yellowstone, the distance and time needed to get from Park to another is indeed only "a few minutes away."

      As an avid roadtripper, 130 miles isn't bad. I drive to the mountains every year, whether the Rockies, Appalachians, Grand canyon, etc. Just got back 2 days ago from Tennessee, north Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky. The scenic drives are my absolute favorite. Next year, grand tetons is my destination. I am stoked. Can't get enough of the mountains. I live in the Great lakes area. The Yellowstone doesn’t even have tall peaks to appreciate the view, it is the most awful NP in the world just because the American people are not smart enough to take advantage of the opportunity, I hate them, They should have done some spa type of facilities, but kind of integrated with the environment, certain type of soak springs by mixing the hot with cold water, they could even make some INFINITY Edges, so tourists would be enjoying the views of the springs and wildlife, BECAUSE THE WAY IT CURRENTLY IS WHAT IS THE F*** Point of watching those bubbling pools in the cold without being able to feel it on the skin, it’s too hot I know, but they could mix it.

      Have you gone to Banff National Park? It's very commercialized and developed -but beautiful of course. Would you prefer the American National Parks do this?
