I have to thank you so much for making a plug for people staying in their car around the bison. As somebody who was born and raised in Montana and still lives here, we have way too many “tourons” that disrespect our national parks, thinking that they can get within a couple feet of one of these majestic animals to get a photo or even provoke them, and the disrespect really enrages the locals let alone how rude it is to the animals on their turf. Thank you so much for what you both do, you’re exemplary tourists and storytellers! ❤❤❤

Our family visits Yellowstone NP every five years or so. Thanks for assembling a very entertaining travel through Yellowstone. Every American should visit Yellowstone at least once in their life. Even if you do not have much money, you can always camp and make your own meals to save money.
Thank you for another awesome video. That park is definitely on our wish list we’re not gonna be able to ever get to half of the parks that you guys have going but we live in it through you guys.

Nice work! You had a TON of footage to sort through to make this video, so kudos to you both for all the hard work! Yellowstone is one of the most amazing places on the planet, and you've done a great job showcasing what it has to offer. So many visitors only have a day or two in the park, but you could easily spend a month there and do something different every day!

I did not know about staircase, I will certainly visit again to see it. You always make the trips exciting 🎉

OMG! Your videography is fabulous! Oh, I remember Yellowstone so well…what a wonderful place to spend a week or more! The Inn is so beautiful, so large and majestic. I think I’d rather stay in our Lucy, though, especially with such a price for a shared bath! 😳. Oh geeze, that food you had, YUM, YUM, YUM. Thank you for taking me back to one of our fav national parks…Tim and I better get to-goin’ to revisit all these wonderful places you’re taking us to! Love you guys, Virginia 🩷
Virginia, apologies for the delayed reply. Yet another great park for Lucy, and an awesome place to try one or more of the campgrounds! Hope you both can plan another trip to Yellowstone, so much to see and do. 👍 -Howard
I LOVED that! I was there in 1982, we tented. The fire was 1988, has it completely recovered now from that? I loved the boiling mud as well, loved it all really. The canyon is so gorgeous…it was a wonderful trip. Love your travels…thank you.
Thank you so much! I'm not 100% on which part was from the 1988 fire, but there are definitely areas that look to be more recent than that inside the park. We tent camped on a black sand beach in Maui after our wedding, there's something special about camping like that every now and then! 👍 -Howard
So true, Nicholas! We were at Yellowstone for 5 days, but even with that there were still areas we had to leave for another visit. Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
Thank you so much! I see you're from Maui, our thoughts are with you and your community. Katelyn and I were married on Maui, and have visited Hawaii several times. Hope our paths cross sometime in the future! 👍 -Howard
In 1988 there was a huge wildfire in Yellowstone. An fireline explosives crew saved the Lodge from the flames. I worked on wildfires for over 30 years and have been qualified for many positions. I served on the Fireline Explosives Crew.
Great video! I am a Ranger at Tower. Your description and information was terrific. I learned some things I didn't know after 11 summers in the Park. Thanks for coming and visiting us.
Wow, thanks so much! It means a lot to hear such kind words from someone who lives and works there. Guess it goes to show that every visit you can explore something new! Thanks again and hope you'll continue on the journey with us. 👍 -Howard
Thanks, John! We mentioned it at the kickoff of the tour and also during the recent live, but we only had the Vista NPF for part of the tour and decided moving back into the Navion in the SUMMER rather than WINTER was a better time to do it. 😂👍 -Howard ua-cam.com/users/live8UYceOnP7Ok
Good video. We’re going to Yellowstone this summer and traveling with my service dog. Just wondering what you could and couldn’t do with a dog. We are photographers, not professionals, and wondering where we can bring service dog
Rob, it's a great question, and I believe with a licensed service animal you have greater access. Here's a link I found specific to Yellowstone: www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/serviceanimals.htm Hope that helps! 👍 - Howard
Aloha! You do need permits for UA-cam, TikTok and other commercial filming. As was mentioned, we have permits for every park on our tour. Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
I know I just replied to your newer comment about it, but for others seeing this, here's the video that explains the Vista and our Navion. 👍 -Howard ua-cam.com/users/live8UYceOnP7Ok
Correct, Yellowstone has a significant overcrowding issue with the geothermal areas in summertime. They specifically restrict any activity that could further impede the flow of visitors to the area. We intentionally don't film with tripods or equipment beyond the camera (and most people don't realize we are even filming beyond what a typical visitor does at a site), but always follow the stipulations and requirements of the permits at each location. - Howard
Hi Brittany! Looks like it's now the 'Old West Dinner Cookout' 😄 Here's a link to the page: www.yellowstonenationalparklodges.com/adventure/wild-west-adventures/old-west-dinner-cookout/
Great video but how much did it cost for the permits to make these videos ? According to the new laws I can not even take a vacation video of a national park and post it on UA-cam, without first getting a permit from the Park Service, for each park.
Bruce, first a clarification, the laws that regulate commercial filming in NPs are over 20 years old. Second, the unfortunate aspect of UA-cam if you're using it to share personal videos is that the video is eligible for monetization (UA-cam can run ads on any video on the platform even if you don't receive a portion of the profits) and therefore the NPS considers it and TikTok as always for commercial purposes. Third, permits for National Parks vary widely by park. Some on our tour were $75. A few were over $400. It is best to contact each park or check their websites to see if they list application fees for SUP permits (if it is just two people, no special equipment beyond a tripod, and only filming in public areas, the location fee is $0, so you just pay the application fee). Hope that helps, and thanks for watching. - Howard
@@NewstateNomads I am 76 years old now and used to visit Yellowstone every summer for many years and never even thought about NOT being able to take videos and pictures of our National parks, the video camera I used was a big VHS camcorder that rested on my shoulder and nobody had any problem with it.. I was not destroying the park in any way. Granted I understand that commercial companies with large crews that obstruct the park need to have permits, but NOT people with a cell phone or small action camera taking videos and NOT bothering anybody, they don't take anything away from the park and they are hurting nothing. These parks belong to the people. We pay a fee to enter and enjoy the parks, we should not have to pay a fee to take vacation pictures and share them with other friends, over the internet. This Idea of charging us for everything we do on public land is getting a bit carried away.
The Yellowstone doesn’t even have tall peaks to appreciate the view, it is the most awful NP in the world just because the American people are not smart enough to take advantage of the opportunity, I hate them, They should have done some spa type of facilities, but kind of integrated with the environment, certain type of soak springs by mixing the hot with cold water, they could even make some INFINITY Edges, so tourists would be enjoying the views of the springs and wildlife, BECAUSE THE WAY IT CURRENTLY IS WHAT IS THE F*** Point of watching those bubbling pools in the cold without being able to feel it on the skin, it’s too hot I know, but they could mix it.

👍 -Howard
We booked the cowboy cookout based on your video for this July. Thank you very much for your amazing videos!!
👍 -Howard
That was aesome!! Thank you!!!
Thanks, Carolyn! So glad you're along for the journey. 👍 -Howard
Wow. So many things to see and do. How many days were you in the park?
So true, Nicholas! We were at Yellowstone for 5 days, but even with that there were still areas we had to leave for another visit. Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
That was cool! Thanks so much!
Amazing video!
Thanks, Susan! 👍 -Howard
Great video by the way!
Thank you so much! I see you're from Maui, our thoughts are with you and your community. Katelyn and I were married on Maui, and have visited Hawaii several times. Hope our paths cross sometime in the future! 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads Mahalo! We were married in Ka'anapali.
Enjoyed your video. We have enjoyed numerous trips to the area.
During the summers I work in Yellowstone, this summer I will be working at Lake Lodge front desk. I am packing as we speak.
Very informative worth leaving a comment and subscribe
👍 -Howard
Awesome, caves and park. I will get there. Have you been to the Lehmann caves in Great Basin NP, and of coyrse you did Carlsbad, it was awesome too.
Thanks, John! Great Basin will be next year for us, sounds like you enjoyed it! 👍 -Howard
Great video 😊 we enjoyed our visit in 2021. Though you guys were using a Winnebago National Parks Edition class A as you visited the National Parks?😮
Where's the Jellystone section with Yogi and Boo Boo, lol
Lol, we looked hard! Did find some pic-a-nic baskets, though. 🤣
Did you have your dog with you at Yellowstone? Wondered how you handled that with the pet restrictions and all. Thanks. Great video!!
Yellowstone will do well withiut your advertisement
The person that makes the coffee is called a "Bucarista"!
Have never heard that one before! Is that Italian? Do you know the origin of that word? Thanks as always for watching! 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads It's a combo of batista and buckaroo
Good video. We’re going to Yellowstone this summer and traveling with my service dog. Just wondering what you could and couldn’t do with a dog. We are photographers, not professionals, and wondering where we can bring service dog
Rob, it's a great question, and I believe with a licensed service animal you have greater access. Here's a link I found specific to Yellowstone: www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/serviceanimals.htm
Hope that helps! 👍 - Howard
Just curious, i was told we needed a permit to film youtube videos in national parks. do you have any insight about this or a workaround? Mahalo!
They've mentioned that they do have permits to film all of these parks.
Aloha! You do need permits for UA-cam, TikTok and other commercial filming. As was mentioned, we have permits for every park on our tour. Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads do you have to pay a $150 application fee? Seems a bit ridiculous to me.. thanks for the info!
How many days do you recommend to spend doing the loop?
Wait, what happened to the Vista?
I know I just replied to your newer comment about it, but for others seeing this, here's the video that explains the Vista and our Navion. 👍 -Howard ua-cam.com/users/live8UYceOnP7Ok
Can you do the loop in one day?
Just curious though, why can you not film during peak hours??
It's very crowded then and people block the trails and boardwalks trying to film.
- Howard
What’s the cowboy cookout called? I tried looking up old west dinner cookout on google maps and it didn’t come up
Hi Brittany! Looks like it's now the 'Old West Dinner Cookout' 😄 Here's a link to the page: www.yellowstonenationalparklodges.com/adventure/wild-west-adventures/old-west-dinner-cookout/
@@NewstateNomads I say thanx on behalf of Brittany. 😃
Hi guys
Have you been to Kobuk NP, Clark lake NP, and katmai NP in Alaska, if yes, give me some home in planning my trip, all 3 in one trip.. thanks
Little do we know at yellow stone that there is a huge time bomb ticking underneath us, I really do hope Yellowstone will not erupt.
Interesting/informative/entertaining.
Thanks so much!
