So, by now, Tyrion has pissed off the edge of the wall, fought with the hilltribes, slept in a sky cell, blew up Blackwater Bay, almost died in a battle after being hit by an axe, was charged with king's murder, escaped a death sentence, killed the most powerful man in the realm, crossed the Narrow see in a box, fought the stonemen, was kidnapped into slavery, became a caretaker of a large city AND touched two dragons. Sure, the guy has had a rough life but damn, he's got so many stories to tell.
I love how the dragons listen to Tyrion as he tells them a story from his childhood; they are intelligent creatures, and they understood that he was there to help, not to harm.

I just love how Tyrion calmly walks towards the dragon and tells a story. So badass. Probably he was so emotional that he forgot how dangerous the dragons are.
He knew how dangerous they were, he knew exactly how dangerous they were. Tyrions way to get out of trouble is to talk and showcase his vulnerability, Tyrion’s way of approaching most things is to talk and relate and sympathize so it makes sense for him to do so even with dragons that cannot understand him. He’s approaching them very slowly, step by step while talking in a very low and quiet voice so that he isn’t threatening to them or look like he’s challenging them in any way. Rhaegal took his approach as a threat at first but it was when Tyrion lowered his head and began talking did Rhaegal calm down and just watch and listen. He also pulled the pin on the collar very quickly so that he didn’t disturb or spook the dragon, also showing that he was there to help and when Viserion noticed that Tyrion was there to help he lowered his head down and simply waited - which definitely terrified Tyrion cause Viserion moved a little quicker than anticipated. Then when the job was done, he made sure Rhaegal and Viserions backs were turned and they were walking away til he did so himself, and he got himself out of there as fast as his little legs could carry him.

They’re literally drooling at the sight of him but have the intelligence to understand he is their friend, and it would not be wise to eat a friend. “Please don’t eat the help” and the dragon totally laughs.

Watching the parallel of this scene vs the one with Daemon singing in Valeryan to Vermithor is wonderful, especially the moment they put the cauldron on the floor to approach the dragon(s). It really feels like Tyrion and Daemon are some of the only people who admired the dragons with reverance, and understood the dragons and saw them as individual beings, not some exotic pet to keep in chains and bound to a chamber.
Great scene! I love how the dragons look now, and I can't wait until they take to the skies. Also, Peter Dinklage nailed the dialogue here! You can hear how excited Tyrion actually is to touch a real dragon. Something he dreamed of as a child.
If you ask me if you include dragons in any story, show, or rpg, you should treat there existence with respect on how powerful they are and how much people think of them. Dragons in almost any form symbolize power, in almost all forms, which game of thrones did well even though they made them animal like.
In the last 2 seasons they've taken a team of 10 people for over 6 months just to sculpt, retopo and texture the dragons; you bet the result would be awesome.
same, i think its cuz of wat tha dragons mean to tyrion, they symbolize tha lost sense of awe & magic & hope for tha future he had as a lil kid b4 his youthful childhood dreams/innocence was snuffed out by tha cold realities of tha world
+Gbenga Adebayo just be glad he didnt get burned to death like Quentyn.. when the trailer teased that he is taking over Quentyn's storyline from the books, I was scared that the dragons were going to kill him Here also because I didn't recall any other tyrion shot after this moment in the trailer
i think its going in this way because the show runners are trying to do as little of dragons as they can because SG is mad expensive +sg is easier to do in the darkness
+Aj bobby Would prefer if tyrion was the son of tywin since otherwise that whole tension between him and his father and the story between them would seem lost
Dinklage's acting with the dragons is so much better than Emilia Clarke's. I mean Emilia is great, but Dinklage is on another level. Maybe it's because he has more experience with cgi and animatronics.
He emotes more emotion towards them making it seem as though they're actually there where Emilie Clark just looks as though she's not really staring at anything. Her acting in terms of words isn't bad but her "facial acting" needs work.
Emilia Clarkes performance is so hit and miss all over the show. There are moments I think she's excellent and moments I think she's wooden as anything. She sells Daenarys kind private side exceptionally well, but the big speeches and hard moments never come off
Most dwarfs actor and actress have more experience in cgi than normal sized ones. Cos they are either become giants or other short or small mythical beings. Best part is they mostly perform in fantasy or mystery cinematics or series
I think this is my favourite scene of the whole series so far. Just perfect. I knew Tyrion coming into contact with the dragons for the first time would be cool, but I didn't expect it to be quite so beautiful. Dinklage deserves another Emmy for this scene alone!
It seems like the dragons respect bravery. Drogon kept leaving Daenerys until she let him roar in her face and she didn't back away. Same thing with Jon and Drogon on the island. Drogon ran right up to Jon and Jon reached out to touch him.
@@kuromyou7969 I see it as huge possibility. Aerys lusted after Joanna (Tyrion's mum) and took whatever he pleased. There *was* a time when Tywin was away and Joanna and Aerys were in the same vicinity. Then some time later she birthed Tyrion. Of course there's plenty of other evidence, such as Tyrion falling into tainted water and never getting ill (Valyrian's are immune to some diseases/illnesses), he dreamed of dragons a lot and was obsessed with fire. GOT was supposed to have a second Dance of Dragons between Daenerys and the rightful heir Aegon. I'd imagine Tyrion would claim the third dragon and partake in the dance.
Niame Scrawls that’s because the dragon is laughing when he says that. They are actually asking him the questions and he responds to them. You have to really listen carefully and you can hear them ask the questions.
This had so much potential. The moment he took off their chains he gained their trust for a lifetime. Of course after this we never got any scene remotely resembling anything like a kinship between these 3, because Dumb & Dumber lived for small scenes without any context in the future.
When he removed the lock the other one was patiently waiting behind him to see what tyrion would do if he would hurt his brother or not he's ready to pounce
They understood every word he said. In fact, if you listen carefully they asked him questions and he responded! First dragon asked, “Who are you?” Second dragon asked, “Why are you here? Second dragon laughed after Tyrion made the don’t eat the help comment.
Even though I know George says that dragons are not THAT intelligent, not as smart as people anyway, I like to imagine that they’re smart enough that whilst Tyrion is talking they’re just thinking “dude, cut the crap and take these chains off”
Something I just noticed -- after he unchains Rhaegal, Viserion's head is directly behind him. One quick chomp and the brothers could have shared a post-rescue snack... but they don't, because they don't eat friends.
I think this is all but a confirmation that Tyrion is the Mad King's bastard son. A normal human simply does not approach a pissed off dragon, touch its neck, and live to tell about it.
It’s a shame they didn’t expand on this in the show. It’s a great theory that Tyrion is the mad kings son. A Targaryen and a Lannister. We’ll never know until George finishes the books or if he ever does.
I know Tyrion was afraid, but I love how when he touches the dragon, he bows his head. He was respecting that awesome power. Peter Dinklage is an unbelievable actor. Love this scene so much.
At 1:40 when he says “but here you are” puts me in mind of a scene from The Last Unicorn, when Molly Grue meets the unicorn. That confirmation of hopes and dreams years after having given up.
Syren Quick little unrelated question. Is that the same profile pic on your facebook? I'm only asking because someone I know has that same pic. And she likes Game of Thrones as well...
The dickbag traitor Roose died, the dickbag Greyjoy dad died, Tyrion befriended some dragons, the wildlings avenging Jon, Arya's about to become a badass, Jon's resurrection. I didn't know that this much happiness existed in Game of Thrones
I loved this scene. I found it very emotional and Peter Dinklage was amazing as always. Tyrion as a Dragonrider and a head of the Dragon confirmed and no *he is not a Targaryen.*
And In the books prince Quentyn Martell tries to steal the dragons. As he enters the pit he can see all the walls are black from dragonfire. Viserion had broken the chain by himself and burned a lair in the pyramid. In the end Martell gets burned alive for trying to steal the dragons for himself and dies on the third day.
OMG - I literally cried watching this. Neither dragon laid eyes on Tyrion before; but they knew he was no threat. If there was any further proof that Tyrion was of the Targaryean bloodline, this is it! And Dinklage's performance was astounding; you could feel how emotional Tyrion was learning that not all dragons were dead, after all. Give this man an Emmy!
+The Excavator Exactly! People are so spoiled in respect to CGI. Heck they should be glad they don't have people in rubber suites playing dragons like they did in the Japanese movies in the sixties and seventies.
He is not necessarily a Targ just because the dragons didn't. attack him. That was the entire point of the previous scene with Tyrion asking Missandei if she has ever been harmed by the dragons.
+hentesgyik95 The books imply that Aerys Targaryen used his status as king to claim first bedding rights to Tywin Lannisters wife. Some have speculated that if true, Aerys may have kept up a secret relationship with Joanna for years, which eventually led to Tyrion’s birth. There is enough source material explored in the books and the show to have a "Tyrion Targaryeon" reveal make sense. ‘Game of Thrones’ 101: Explaining The Tyrion Targaryen Fan Theory Jeremy Fuster The Wrap May 2, 2016 ‘Game of Thrones’ 101: Explaining The Tyrion Targaryen Fan Theory More Tyrion Lannister has done a lot of spectacular things over the course of “Game of Thrones.” On a show where death is the only constant, he has managed to elude the Grim Reaper more times than anyone can count. He has used his wit and intellect to work his way into several seats of power. Oh, and he slapped Joffrey. That was fun. On last night’s episode, Tyrion added another remarkable feat to his list, and it is one that has rekindled one of the most popular fan theories surrounding the series. With Daenerys Targaryen missing after flying off with her dragon at the end of last season, Tyrion has been chosen to run Meereen in her place. In his first move as acting governor, Tyrion made a bold suggestion: Daenerys still had two other dragons chained in the dungeons, and Tyrion decided that he would go down and free them. As some unfortunate souls have learned over the course of the series, dragons are quick to flame-broil and devour anyone who looks at them funny. Even Daenerys can’t really tame them. She can only show them where to fly and maybe they’ll listen to her. But as it turns out, Tyrion’s silver tongue is much more powerful than anyone first thought. With a few jokes and a little chit-chat, Tyrion managed to get the dragons to trust him and let him unchain them without snapping. He even told them a story about how he wanted a dragon as a birthday gift when he was a kid, and they seemed to be listening to him. Daenerys is the only one up to this point that has been able to calm the dragons the way Tyrion has, making Sunday’s episode the biggest piece of evidence for some fans that believe Tyrion is not a full-blooded Lannister. According to the theory, Tyrion’s father is not Tywin Lannister. It’s Aerys Targaryen. Some believe that on the wedding night of Tywin and Joanna Lannister, the power-drunk Aerys used his status as king to claim first bedding rights to Joanna. Through either seduction or blackmail, he kept up a secret relationship with Joanna for years, which eventually led to Tyrion’s birth. As fans know, Joanna died giving birth to Tyrion. Tywin always hated the Imp for bringing about the death of the only person in Westeros he ever truly loved, but that hatred might have been doubled if he knew who Tyrion’s father really was. Or so the theory goes. Also Read: New Fast And Furious Era of 'Game of Thrones' Sure Is Fun, Isn't It? (Commentary) But while Tywin would make sure that Tyrion would never be his heir, he raised him instead of letting him die like most people in Westeros would do with dwarf children. Fans who believe in the theory think that Tywin did this either to preserve the honor of his house or because he could never bring himself to kill Joanna’s child, regardless of the circumstances. The theory would also explain the motives behind Tywin’s words and actions. The affair with Joanna would have been enough to get Tywin to join the Baratheon rebellion, and it would give deeper meaning to his final declaration to Tyrion that he was never his son - just before Tyrion killed him. The Tyrion Targaryen theory also ties in to the prophecy of the three-headed dragon that Daenerys hears in the House of the Undying... then again George has made a point of saying that there are multiple ways for prophecies to come true, and they aren't always the most literal or the most flashy. Prophecy is a Fickle Bitch.
“Imagine if we were visually distinct, like, as starkly different as green-and-bronze and cream-and-gold.” “Or, like, imagine our names were in the scripts before Season 5.” “Or Mom’s mom was once mentioned by name at all.”
This. I hate how the show only gives Drogon any kind of meaning in the story while Rhaegal and Viserion are just forgotten about. I didn't even genuinely know their names until I read the books and it's not like I wasn't paying attention. Sure, Viserion get killed and resurrected and Jon rides Rhaegal before he dies but that's it. Such a shame, because Rhaegal is my favourite of the three (Team Jon on the throne for life.)
I honestly think my favorite part of this whole scene is right after Tyrion says, 'Next time I have an idea like that, punch me in the face.' Varys' simple nod of 'You got it,' made me lose it.😂😂
When I see this scene again I confirm and validate that Tyrion Lannister is a Targarian. His real father is aiyris 2 the mad king and his brothers are rheagar, deyneris and viserys. Except her mother is Johanna Lannister. Seen how the dragons behave with their nose, the eyes that open and the way that tyrion to touch the dragon The same way as john snow with the dragon drogon.

@@lawrance7340 About that. Who’s knows about Winds though.
the best line: "It could be little, like me."
The dragons got real quiet when Tyrion was telling his story. Almost like they were paying attention and fully comprehending what he said.
and their still lttle boys either
2:00 as the 2nd dragon turns sideways, gesturing for help. Priceless 😅
"It could be little, like me" CUTE AF
" Next time I have an idea like that punch me in the face!" 😂😂
Tyrion just showed us how to train your dragon.
I love this scene, it's so beautiful because he's genuinely moved by the dragons & he's back 2 being a child wishing
I was waiting for the dragon 🐉 to say, “go ahead little man, me next.” 😂😂😂
Rhaegal and Viserion are so damn beautiful. I'm in awe. Those horn like things on their heads looks so good.
Arguably the boldest thing that Tyrion ever did so far. And he does a lot of bold things! I hope that this part is in the book as well!
It was scenes like this that were filled with such sincerity that made GoT the show we all loved and still get upset about how it ended
this time the CGI is soooo goood it's looks so realistic .
+Fahad Mc is not CGI it is reeeallll lol
+Fahad Mc They are real. They didn't die out a century ago!
In the last 2 seasons they've taken a team of 10 people for over 6 months just to sculpt, retopo and texture the dragons; you bet the result would be awesome.
"I'm friends with your mother" =D
This scene is so beautiful it almost makes me cry.. It's just really touching idk why
Possibly because the dragons show more compassion to Tyrion than most humans have.
What happenes to the dragons afterwards?
@@gheldmann What happenes to the dragons afterwards?
same, i think its cuz of wat tha dragons mean to tyrion, they symbolize tha lost sense of awe & magic & hope for tha future he had as a lil kid b4 his youthful childhood dreams/innocence was snuffed out by tha cold realities of tha world
I loved that scene. Thought there'd be more to it at the end, though.
+Ze Roid it seemed so ordinary and too convenient
+Gbenga Adebayo just be glad he didnt get burned to death like Quentyn.. when the trailer teased that he is taking over Quentyn's storyline from the books, I was scared that the dragons were going to kill him Here
also because I didn't recall any other tyrion shot after this moment in the trailer
+Ze Roid i wanted to see them fly at least
i think its going in this way because the show runners are trying to do as little of dragons as they can because SG is mad expensive +sg is easier to do in the darkness
***** after being chained for how long? they needed to fly.
i agree with nike, i think it was budget issue
Speaking of balls in this episode: Tyrion's body must consist of 99% balls for handling those dragons.
+Lyrion Tannister doesn't varys keep them in a pouch around his neck or am I thinkin of someone else.... wait no varys didn't keep em .
Explains why his pants have such a low crotch
+Lyrion Tannister I laughed so hard from your comment. He got Balls of STEEL : )
+Cnith Varys might be a Targaryen also. Maybe that's why he is bald. you know, to hide his silver blond hair.
+Cnith well, lets just say that only cause he's a dwarf doesn't mean that everything has to be proportional ;)
"Don't eat the help." How original! lol
yeah, that sounds cool.
haha, I love how even the normally calm and collected Varys had a shocked expression to Tyrion's actions.
Varys is thinking what we are all thinking. SECRET TARGS EVERYWHERE
Tyrion Targaryen confirmed
+Aj bobby Get Hype
+Aj bobby Would he be a bastard then? Tyrion Hill / Waters / Blackfyre
doesn't confirm it at all, in the books there was a few dragon riders who were not Targaryens
+Aj bobby Would prefer if tyrion was the son of tywin since otherwise that whole tension between him and his father and the story between them would seem lost
+Aj bobby NO he is not
Dinklage's acting with the dragons is so much better than Emilia Clarke's.
@@haleykostszewa6465 As much as I adore her, I have to agree. I think she's gotten better over the years though.
I was reading a Dance of Dragons and a paragraph HAD THIS VERY QUOTE Tyrion said! WORD FOR WORD! One of my fave GOT moments ever
I laughed so hard when he told Varys ,,next time..... Punch me in the Face." I watched it in German and it was translated very harsh 😄😄😄
They respect targeryan blood. And all 3 had it.
@@giank5499 how did Tyrion have Targaryen blood?
@@kuromyou7969 there is one time when Tywin said that the mad King took his wife for a night.
@@giank5499 I guess. I still think it's unconfirmed. Plus, missandei said the dragons never harmed her and she was around them a lot.
Tyrion, Jon, Daenerys - The three-headed-Dragon evidence?
Syxoshi yeah but the Night King got Viserion so that theory got blown up.
Episode 2 was awesome!! The CGI here is amazing
Varys reaction at the end summed up the entire madness of the scene !!!
I'm here to help, don't eat the help
+R. I love how the dragon makes a noise that almost sounds like laughing in reaction to that line.
Niame Scrawls that’s because the dragon is laughing when he says that. They are actually asking him the questions and he responds to them. You have to really listen carefully and you can hear them ask the questions.
Questions are: First dragon asks, “Who are you?” second dragon asks, “Why are you here?” Followed by the laugh from the second dragon.
When your mom comes home pissed and you try to cheer her up.
This had so much potential. The moment he took off their chains he gained their trust for a lifetime.
Of course after this we never got any scene remotely resembling anything like a kinship between these 3, because Dumb & Dumber lived for small scenes without any context in the future.
So true haha😂
When he removed the lock the other one was patiently waiting behind him to see what tyrion would do if he would hurt his brother or not he's ready to pounce
Huge game of thrones fan !
The dragons and dire wolves are my favourite parts of the series.

I loved how the dragons seem to have understood Tyrion :D
They understood every word he said. In fact, if you listen carefully they asked him questions and he responded! First dragon asked, “Who are you?” Second dragon asked, “Why are you here? Second dragon laughed after Tyrion made the don’t eat the help comment.
They said thank you after he removed the chains too.
They spoke with him. This was not a monologue.
@@LivingSacrifice77 Sure looks that way...!
"Next Time I have Idea like that, Punch Me in the face" is the most Rememberable line For me 😂👌
Even though I know George says that dragons are not THAT intelligent, not as smart as people anyway, I like to imagine that they’re smart enough that whilst Tyrion is talking they’re just thinking “dude, cut the crap and take these chains off”
Something I just noticed -- after he unchains Rhaegal, Viserion's head is directly behind him.
+Ramon Suarez viserys is the mad king's son but i bet he would have gotten eaten like a little bich if he tried what tyrion did right here
JoJo Joo Not every Targaryean is gifted with dragons its seems but no normal human can do what their most gifted can.
"Next time I have a idea... punch me a face" He ain't lying lmfaooo... 💀💀💀😭😭😭
To your best friend after you tell your crush about your feelings: Next time I have an idea like that, punch me in the face xD
+Syren That seems far more dangerous than facing two dragons...
T0mN7 I know right lol
Syren Quick little unrelated question. Is that the same profile pic on your facebook? I'm only asking because someone I know has that same pic. And she likes Game of Thrones as well...
T0mN7 No... it's not the same. I think I did have it at a point in time but not anymore.
Syren Oh, ok...
Omg the dragons looks so absolutely beautiful in this scene. The eyes….. wow
honestly this episode made me so happy (especially at the end ;) )
You're not the only one
+Anna Ratiu can´t believe there is people who disliked the episode, lots of cunts.
+The fookin Hound how can u dislike it?? Probably because of what Ramsay did but oh well
The dickbag traitor Roose died, the dickbag Greyjoy dad died, Tyrion befriended some dragons, the wildlings avenging Jon, Arya's about to become a badass, Jon's resurrection.
I didn't know that this much happiness existed in Game of Thrones
Girls going mad all over the world. I could feel it.
The way the 2nd dragon turned his head was so moving
"I drink, and I know things"
CGI is better than than Season 5 Dany riding off on Drogon. lol
+Technoguy3 I heard they bumped the budget from 6 million to 10 million per episode so it better be lol
+N1KOD95 they spent over 100 million on this season only actually
+Technoguy3 Yep. Different VFX Company. Most Dragons are made by Pixomondo. The ridiculous riding off shot was made by Rhythm & Hues.
+Tonio The riding off shot doesn't even look that bad. Why does everyone moan about it?
+The Excavator Exactly! People are so spoiled in respect to CGI. Heck they should be glad they don't have people in rubber suites playing dragons like they did in the Japanese movies in the sixties and seventies.
One of the many amazing scenes with Tyrion.
Cue the secret Targaryen comments
what does it mean tho
+sebastian salamanca R+L=J and A+J=T
Aab Baab not helping I'm not even ganna try
Waaay too many "secrets" to Martin's style... oversimplifies the plot...
+sebastian salamanca There's a theory that Tyrion is the mad king's son.
Don't eat the help - Tyrion's awesome!
He is not necessarily a Targ just because the dragons didn't. attack him. That was the entire point of the previous scene with Tyrion asking Missandei if she has ever been harmed by the dragons.
Who knows, in the books, there's a small mention of Tyrions mom being raped by the mad King.
+Boris Jagielka thought she'd have at least gone in with him, or one of her servants from qarth
+Boris Jagielka Agreed. The Tyrion Targaryeon makes no sense at all I think.
+Boris Jagielka I think the "Tyrion is a targ" comments are partially a joke though

‘Game of Thrones’ 101: Explaining The Tyrion Targaryen Fan Theory
More
Tyrion Lannister has done a lot of spectacular things over the course of “Game of Thrones.” On a show where death is the only constant, he has managed to elude the Grim Reaper more times than anyone can count.
(Commentary)
But while Tywin would make sure that Tyrion would never be his heir, he raised him instead of letting him die like most people in Westeros would do with dwarf children.
How understated is his bravery? I don’t think Jamie would have had the bawls to do that. 😂
jamie would have had the balls in certain circumstances... but not to free them. never to free them
“Imagine if we were visually distinct, like, as starkly different as green-and-bronze and cream-and-gold.”
“Or, like, imagine our names were in the scripts before Season 5.”
“Or Mom’s mom was once mentioned by name at all.”
@@shapesnatch1341 Forgotten? Viserion was literally turned into a wight and was ridden by the NK lol.
0:53 he was talking about Gerion Lannister , he was his favorite uncle
Varys's facial reaction is hilarious as he looked at Tyrion enter the catacombs
I can just imagine the dragons making a lot of Hobbit references right now, "less you come baring gold dwarf leave us be"
Breh. 😂
Those dragon keepers in charge of the pre-Dance Dragon pit could take lessons from Tyrion. Proficiency in High Valyrian not a requirement. 😳
0:44 “I’m the help. Don’t eat the help. 😅😬”
Ive never wanted a dragon more! One of my favourite scenes.
I had my fingers crossed and was yelling at the tv Tryion can't die
