What a wonderful old stack. You are doing the collector a great service and helping your own collection at the same time. Win-win!
damn no wonder i cant find a lot of silver this guy has it all lol
There is a lot out there to be found still!
I know rite lol
Amen!
Every time I go to bank to deposit or cash a check I always ask bank to show me half dollar so I can check the edge to see if it silver. 50 cents for silver! The odd isn’t bad, got 3 during 10 visit. Found one last week.
Pretty much true
For any doubters, this is what wealth preservation is all about. This silver was probably purchased at a small fraction of what it is worth today.
You think? Being from the 80's?
How did you guess
Happy retirement fund
If they had invested in real estate, they would have had at least 5 times what they have now.
Brian Cameron negligible compared to appreciation. I live in SF Bay Area. A house that was worth 50k in 80s is like 1.2million now. And the property tax can only increase 2% each year due to prop 13. So the lucky folks who bought houses in 80s are millionaires while paying taxes for 80-90k assessment. Stock market on the other hand has been good but not that good. Billion returns has been laughable.
What a great collection! I wish I would have known about silver coins and their value 20 years ago. Never too late to start
Reached $77 face value of junk silver this week. My goal is to hit $125 by This October. Nice collection!
Daniel Flaherty just curious, how do you store it? Like do you separate it by dimes, quarters, halfs or do you put the ones that look nice aside? I started getting a few dollars worth hear and there and now I have to figure out how to store it - silver adds up pretty quick when you buy a little every paycheck.
Coin Tubes. Seperated by Denomination. Dimes,Quarters,Halves and Dollar Tubes. If I do come across Coins in better condition,I will put in flips and store them in appropriate storage box i buy from local coin dealer.
Hope this Helps.
Daniel
And here I am with ONE silver quarter.
Don't feel bad brother. I feel ur pain. I'm a grown man crying in envy after seeing this.
Gotta start somewhere.
Bro, you're doing better than 99% of people in this country. At least you know the real value of it.
Three dimes to my name.
@@johngriffiths3952 most relevant point indeed. I started by finding two dimes one merc one FDR. From those two lowly coins I’ve been adding. Only regret is not doing it earlier
Man that's a lot of silver. I bought Three 100 oz Engelhard silver bars in 1985. I still have two of them but I traded one for small 1oz bars. Nice collection you have going keep it up.
I've had a very similar opportunity recently where I sorted through a huge amount of constitutional coins and while sorting and rolling them for sale, I also was able to pick out coins for my own collection by trading with lower grade pieces and duplicates that I already had. It was a lot of fun and I got a lot of MS halves from 1948 to 1952. Not a single '55 was to be found. I only have a single MS63 '55, which I bought at dealer wholesale. I'd sooner have BU '63 and '64 quarters than slick older ones. Have a good holiday.
Damn that's a lot of silver!
That collection is absolutely beautiful. I would be happy with just one whole tube of any of that lmao
Nice collection, I wish I had a collection that big
must be fun working with that much silver
OMG! I just done that with wheat pennies. Very nice collection.
Anna Hitchcock hi Anna how do u get ur pennies
Whoa! Never seen so much 90% in one spot..lol..especially love the Walkers!!..good luck in your search..sounds like a lot of fun 👌👍
Scotty06WWJD g.l.
Wow! Nice collection!! Lots of work put in. Great share.
Looks like a whole lot of fun, man. Congrats. Thanks for sharing.
Out of all the junk silver silver videos I have seen on yet I have never seen one of this size, even all the walking and franklins are more and everything g else is extra! It's crazy to see such a massive pile of junk silver, I wonder why your or if your friend sold any when silver went to $40
Sometimes if you're in a comfortable place in life, it's not about selling but passing it along to your offspring and ensuring a better life for them.
@@johngriffiths3952 absolutely
Wow, monster stack. Nice haul of junk silver.
Subbed ya! Wow
+Silver Bean Counter Thanks!
Dang! That would be super cool to go through all that silver! I would love to be able to put a set of Franklins together. Maybe we could work something out at some point. Either way, amazing video, some really cool "junk silver"
That Franklin half dollar set in itself sells for over $1000
Hell of a hoard there 👍👍
That is such a wonderful tedious amazing job. I'd both love and hate that. ...mostly love
So he is willing to sell at spot or near?
:) to me...
wow that is a lot of silver
I mostly stack silver bars and a few silver coins but I recently bought some silver quarters from apmex. Maybe I’ll start stacking some more junk silver.
I feel so lucky I can still buy walking half’s for $1 face for $20 from my local coin shop
Coins are 90% lower grades. But glad u are picking the keys!! Fun video 😉
Holy Cow! That is an incredible opportunity. Great video!
thats amazing!
HalfDolla' MakeYouHolla' I watch your video's
Thanks!
I try really really hard not to suffer from envy but this is pushing me to my limit. Wow I just want to stare and drool. I am a junk silver collect almost exclusively and I'd love to reach out to him
just found your channel, brilliant, subscribed
I appreciate your support!
I'd be like Scrooge McDuck, swimming through it all!
This guy deals with keys and not the kind that be locking doors! What a head the ball!
silver heaven right here
Wow! I like the video, I like junk silver, aways good to look for numismatic value coins! What a nice cash to look thru, I know you must have had some good luck!
How many halfs, dimes, and quarters were there? Was that about 2000 Kennedy 2000 franklin and 1000 walkers for a total of 5000 halfs? Just a guess..and were those 100 oz bars in the box too? My is many ounces was that total
You estimated fairly well. It was a little over 2000 for the Franklin halves and slightly under for the Kennedy halves. I didn't get a count on quarters or dimes, I just weighed them to estimate how many tubes to order. Yes those were 100oz bars. Over 5000oz total.
Wow what an opportunity to be able to go through those coins..so what did he pay you think fir it in the 80's..I'm sure he's made really well on his investment
Coin Metallurgist Just a real curious question. Can you give a ballpark figure of what he paid for that. 5000 oz times $20 = $100,000
Would he have paid spot or more like a number under spot. Just curious in case we ever run across anything of this magnitude!!
Bluegrass bullion how to collect on these.special site?
Very neat!
You are so lucky! That is awesome!
How did I miss this video!!!!? Some wonderful coins there - would love to "buy" some from your buddy maybe!
What a sight to behold!!
Unbelievable collection.
Hope you find some key dates in there, good luck with that task. Hope your still sane when it is finished, lol.
Haha, thanks!
The face value of these coins alone is probably worth more than what 99.99% of Americans have in silver. 😮
Brooooooo!!!!!! I only have a 1943 silver walking liberty half dollar
Keep collecting! You'll have more someday.
OK thanks
Coin Metallurgist I now have 4 walking liberty's just a update and a barber half and Benjamin Franklins
I'm on my other channel
Coin Metallurgist are any of these coins for sale? If where? Thanks,Awesome collection 🤔🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒
Thanks for the video. I'm interested in buying a collection like this not heavily picked through by dealers... Any tips on where I should look? I live in Southern California if that helps.
Hmm... that's a tough one. It is really difficult to find lots that weren't picked though at some point in time. Even lots that are sold as unsearched were probably searched long ago. You really have to find a person who put the coins away decades ago and buy directly from that person. I guess local coin clubs might have connections... good luck.
That's 100,000 face value I assume from the amount. So the collector / melt must be insane. Make sure he gets that shit in a will if he hasn't already. Don't need the man taking that shit from him.
Wow! It was worth $100,000 when I recorded the video. $100,000 face value would be like 20x more.
wow that is awesome!!!
Damn! Look at this guy!
That's a lot of silver fucking hell
wow thats alot of junk silver love it
new sub
Glad to have you!
Amazing stack man!
WOW! That’s ALOT of silver!!!

+Mostly Outdoors Thank you!
Holy $hitballs!!! Lol 😂 that’s a lot of silver coins!
So beautiful. 🥺
I found a 1957 quarter in a coin star machine.
I have a 1917 S obverse if you need it looks like you had a little gap there
do you have extra wheat Penny's
Yes I am selling them by the roll on eBay right now.
Fantastic job, but the um um um's was driving me nuts dude! 😅
Thanks!
This....is....amazing!
Must be nice. Keep stacking.
The real question is how many ounces is that $100,000 constitutional silver in this video is???
Or pounds.
holy mackerel!!!
how long have you been collecting??
i subbed!!
+BeAmbitiousNotContent I have been collecting over 10 years now. This horde of silver was purchased over 30 years ago by someone I know. Sadly not my silver.
wow much.much silver
The more silver coins people keep, the demands increase that increase it value.
sweet sweet sweet
Dued thats awsome i want some of them
😮.... i need 6 more Franklin for my first Roll. Your rich 🤑
Jeez that would be a dream for me
nice good job bro how long did it take you to do couple days at least I'm going to check what dates I need and maybe we could do something hey my friend and ,,you let me know what dates you need cuz four quarters I have a whole roll of different years... Merry Christmas
Yeah it took a few days. I found a good variety of dates. The only Washington quarters I need are the 1932D and 1932S.
I'll see if I have them alright bro if I do we will work something out.. cheers my friend
I hope you filled the tubes to the very top and didnt buy the round tubes as they will not hold up. Believe it or not the higher quality bank style paper wrappers like steel-strong is the best way to keep them because they will all start to tone now. This is also the reason they held up to this point. I spent a lot of money (thousands of dollars) on my holders and they were all museum quality and still they toned and once the luster is gone so is the higher mint states. He must have a lot of bars because what I saw looked to only be about $40,000 to $50,000. It is quite a job and takes a lot of time.
Dangggggg Nice!!!!!
I would also go through for key errors that are worth more then the coin it self.
That is an excellent suggestion. I need to educate myself on what errors to look for so I can look through my own silver.
Isn’t storing in ziplock bags bad. Doesn’t it have acid or something???
Man this makes me want to quit collecting. I'm in tears with envy & it hurts. Why can't I know this person. I don't want much.
Haha. Please don't quit collecting. This person has more of a stockpile or a safety net than a collection. As in all things I would compare your collection now to your past collection rather than comparing yours to others.
@@CoinMetallurgist you're right. & I would really never quit collecting because im too nostalgic & sentimental, but it does feel intimidating or makes me feel small. Thanks for the comment & advice, I appreciate it! 😊
his friend must be a bullion dealer
is that your coin room ???? !!!!!
It is not...
Are paper rolls bad for long time storage
That is a ton of weight my friend! - Really like your videos - just put up my first video 1400oz silver and 9oz gold - would love to hear your thoughts!
How long did this monumental task take you ?
The only thing I hate about junk silver is the smell. especially when you have a ton of it like this.
Hmm I personally haven’t noticed a bad smell from a huge load of junk when I go to my LCS. Clad coins smell way worse imo haha
I subbed nice find
Wondering how much face that is? Is it $5,000? $4,000? Less perhaps? Curious to know!
Um
This has aged so well
This video is 4 yrs old now. If you’d held that “junk” till now boy would you have made a killing. Junk is thru the roof
When I made the video silver was at a summer high of about $20/oz. I think it was around 5000 oz total. So maybe it would be worth $125,000 now.
Meercery dimes
Awesome
Holy cow
i want to purchase or to buy some of your collection, how much the 20 pieses 1964 kennedy half dollar,
why is plastic better than paper?
+Jai more protection. The paper is really thin and the coins could still get dinged.
wow!
I wonder how many times he says "uhm".
HELLA!!!!!!
how much was a troy ounce of silver then
😍 *that silver stack
So I see what you are going to be doing for the next 3 years.
Is it illegal to melt 90% junk?
+Dimitri Tsahas Technically yes.
I have the 1932 D quarter
