And we’re back with another melt on another Friday. Pretty straightforward today As I melt down a heap of pewter pieces I found at an op shop over the last year as well as some subscriber sent scrap and other bits and pieces. Quite a few dollars in today’s melt which will add to the stacks value for sure. Definitely don’t forget to hit the 🔔 to be notified on next Friday’s melt as I get that big 1000LB motor melted down. Hopefully I’ll get at least 50LB of copper out of it but we will see. Have yourself an awesome weekend & until next time take care BSafe😁👋🏻
I’ve bought my first melting forge cause of this channel. And it arrived in the mail. Now I don’t even know how to hook it up and set it to start melting. I’ve never felt so clueless. Hahaha. But I’m gonna give it a go to have some fun with my sons. I figure we can do some bonding with this. My son survived cancer. He doesn’t have much interest in things lately so I’m trying to bring him back around.
Hit me up on my email and I’ll send through a heap of tips mate, I can’t send them through UA-cam comments because they only allow certain amount of info and there’s too much to put here. bigstackddddd@mail.com
I'm about 2 years in since I found your channel. Man, you have set me on a path that has changed my life forever. I just built my second mini mill, and I'm making patterns to cast parts for a 3rd. I've made tools, gifts, money, and machines, and I'm soon to turn it into a business of sorts. Thank you vastly from the other side, may you safely stick to your up-side down world, and never fall off of it lol.
Silversmith here, you are pouring the silver to slow. When casting silver, a centrifuge or vacuum is usually used or if you don’t have those, pour very quickly in one fast motion with the torch still on it. 👍😊
You can separate the copper from the sterling silver. Dont let the furnace reach 975°C. Do your pour and let it cool to room temp. You can separate the copper from there right at the pour because it will still be solid. Soft but still solid. Re-melt the silver and you are good to go. If you repeat the process 3 or 4 times you could actually end up with a pure sample.
4:12 am in Texas. Dozed off watching Double Tap. LOL. What an awesome video. However, I can barely wait until next week's melt. As always, great to see the boys. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you! 👍
Fast forward eight months for the 2 mill. subscriber-special, in which the british crown jewels gets melted and cast into pirate coins. Gemstones are put back into the garden, while silk and sable fur goes into recycling. Also, I like the occasional episodes where you experiment with alloys.
You remelted that sterling silver so many times that I forgot about the pewter and for a second was wondering what that was when you were sanding. It was like sterling silver Groundhog Day. 😂😐🥵 Can’t wait till next week!!!!
I think the reason I enjoy this isn't just because of the process but because of the failure and missteps along the way. And you can't forget those cute little puppers.
I watch your vids every friday at work! It became a ritual to me and i can't work if i haven't seen your friday post ^^ I like those because i work with sheetmetal and was always curious about melting metal and casting it.
"Now I'll just make this fit into a crucible." *proceeds to beat the snot out of the silver* Another Friday, another great video from the legendary bigstackD. Just grilling, chilling and perfecting the art of the melt - no matter how many times it takes 😁 And let's not forget the pups Bullion and Ingot: what good boys you are! Cheers!

BigStackD, Ingot and Bullion, NEVER, EVER fail to entertain and make me laugh!! The Pewter meltdown was incredible, sick, and epic! BigStackD’s videos keep getting better and better!! Thank you brother. BTW, BigStackD BBQ WAS F#@KIN HILARIOUS!!!
Don't know if you remember finding the engine in the Bush? The label said Brook Motors Huddersfield. That was my husbands great grandad and his brother that started Brook Motors
Dogs, metal, beer, grinding, polishing, melting, dumpster diving....I don't know what I like most... Keep it up Big D! Finally Subbed. More cooking after the melt please!
Absolutely fantastic and very soothing to end a workweek to. As usual, amazing quality, good humor and Bullion and Ingot add to that wholesomeness. Keep it up!
I was wondering about that too. My original thought was that there just wasn’t very much of it, so there was less material to retain the heat. But the behavior being due to the properties of the material makes more sense.
It's official, this it the final "past" video I have to watch... I have watched all your melting videos and cannot wait to see what you do this coming Friday 7/7/2023. Gratitude from Spokane Washington, USA..
I'm SO glad you're like me and would NeVeR spoil those cute little guys rotten. Please pass on some ear scratches from Texas. Man, that silver came out wonderfully on that first and only try! Pretty bar.
I love collecting gold and silver coins and as well as 10k 14k jewelry that I get melted into bars this channel has given me the confidence to buy a forge so I can make my own bars !!
Absolute beauties to add to the growing collection!!! It kind of got me thinking, we haven’t seen any sneaky household melts in a long time. No longer doing those or just keeping to what you have? Just curious. Keep being awesome and showing us the beautiful creations!!!
Good thing you added the big Zinc coin to the total weight because of the 666 something was trying to posses your camera it seems 😈👍 Casting pewter and lead is so fast and easy to do, and looks like pouring a liquid mirror, stamping is also very easy :) I really like casting pewter in silicone molds, great details even in very small pieces, one of these days I'll get in to making custom silicone molds for casting pewter.
Archaeologist: "It would appear back in this era there was a king 'BigstackD' Not only did he appear to Revere pugs but we found a talisman proving he attempted to summon demons!"
I saw the 4000subs project melt on the shelf. You have done well man. Definitely deserve the gold play buttton. Congrats. Been here since about 20k, never regretted it.
Turned out fantastic!!! I couldn't do what you do but I did have a laugh at the attempts before you were happy. Looking forward to the motor melt!!! Congratulations once again, love this channel.
That's one thing I'm allways looking for the whole week - Friday (evening) and just leaning back with a good beer, while watching BigstackDs new Video. Perfect and therefore 👍 and of course 🍻 Cheers big ears. A nice and calm weekend to everyone around here.
"I'll just gently fit this silver into the crucible" I had to rewind that part and watch it a second time. Called the hubby over so he could also laugh.
Yes we ALL knew what was coming when #BigstackD said, "Now I'll carefully make this fit in a Crucible." Looking forward to next week video. Keep up the great work.
Thank You for taking the time to make Your videos educational and entertaining, I have just recently started melting, and these videos have been a great help!
Your channel is so inspiring and educational. Not to make light of your fun with sterling silver, but it makes me feel better about my coin casting! I made 6kg of nordic gold on Wednesday (12 bars about a half kilo each) and remelted them into coins yesterday. On the upside I have 46 coins and 6 2cm crosses. The downside is that I had a 40% rejection rate and I kept remelting and recasting until I got it right. Took all morning but it was worth it!! Tomorrow is clean up day and it'll probably take all morning to wire brush, sand and clean my horde but dang! It's all worth it!
Pro tip: use flux and completely cover the silver with it while melting, because silver takes a lot of gas like oxigen etc. While its molten and released it while cooling down. Thats why u have so many bubbles in there. Plus its better to get out of the crucible. Greeting from a goldsmith.
I love your channel. Been watching for a while now, and seeing your videos in my notifications makes my day! Please keep making videos, I really enjoy your content!

big stackD got me copying his style about two years ago... making my own coins now. hes a true inspiration
I hope you have a great time bonding with your son!
That's really cool, cancer is really tough so I hope this makes him happy. Never give up.
Even if your boy doesn’t like this, don’t stop searching for a hobby to enjoy with him! It means everything!

Except it actually makes sense rather than resorting to vandalism.

reminds me of nilered (esp his shorts channel 😂😂)
I don't get it. He seems very careful with it.
Plot twist: it was historic and worth $70000.
Just as I was about to go to bed, the universe blesses me with a bigstackD video. Looks like priorities have shifted 😍
In New York right now, watching this at 4:08 am cause I can’t sleep. I LOVE these videos
Brazil, Rio de Janeiro 05:08 am
I' watching from Brasil at (5;19)
Bruh its 4:08am at your time but in my time its 4:20 pm, almost near
Same, except MA. Lol. Fell asleep at 9, woke up at 1, can't sleep anymore. -_-
São Paulo, Brazil. 5:30 am. I cant sleep as well.
As an HVAC guy who comes across scrap on a regular basis, watching these videos makes buying a forge really tempting

Hi. Just to say that the Silver piece was hall marked Birmingham, England 1933. Almost 100 years old!
"Yes! Got it on my first try!" 🤣🤣🤣
