My very favorite part about junk silver is finding it in the wild! It’s so rare, but when they’re found amongst a bunch of clad, it’s like you said “treasure”

I love the walking liberty halves! Can’t get enough of them. Over time I think they’ll be the first of the “junk” silver to have a greater numismatic value like the Morgan’s and peace dollars.

On a tight shopping trip it's nice to leave with 3-13 coins for the same $$ as a 1 oz coin.

I stack it all. But I love constitutional silver aka junk silver, because of the history of it. How many hands it went through, the kids that went to the store to buy a coke. Or like my father told me many of times how they all got two dimes to go to the theater. A dime to get in and a nickel each way on the bus. If you bought popcorn, you walked your ass about 10 miles home. Which they did many of times.

Most of my silver is 90% for the same reasons as you - especially the fractional nature of it and how you can play with it.
I also use it as a weekly dammit I made it through the week purchase on fridays. Working on completing a tube of half dollars right now, then it’ll be a tube of dimes or quarters. $25 won’t get me a round or ASE. it’ll get me 2 halves or 4 quarters or 8 dimes. It adds up.

I keep my current year "Liberties" (what I call silver eagles, because I can be a retard) in tubes; my current year fractional gold eagles in flips; and my 1879-1901cull Morgans in a wooden cigar box. Other than Morgans, I've never bought pre-1964 coins because, as you imply, that's getting into numismatics. Not knocking numismatics at all, but I just prefer to stack bullion coins because to me it's a no-brainer. Also, I love me some Bison Bullion 10 ozt poured bars!

Oh what a fun topic!!! Are there really people who " don't like the term Junk Silver?" Lol... FEELINGSSS LoL! people there are bigger things to worry about!
I love Junk Silver, its like the underdog, derogatory, the bad boy of silver, we all want it yet momma says to stay away lol! Junk silver great to own. Because its called junk doesn't mean it's junk, it's an honorary "coined" term to define it in its own special category. It is known currency, has utilitarian properties, numismatics, collectibility, is a precious metal, and used for hedging.
I have a bunch in my collection. My LCS's always have it close to spot so I can buy multiple ounces or just pick up 3 or 4 to grow the pot. Halves, quarters, dimes are all fun to have around. A fun thing I enjoy doing is that I buy a box of 18mm capsules, I have a bunch of Mercury dimes, polish one up (since its already "junk"), drop it in a capsule and daily carry one in my pocket. What I really enjoy... is giving it away to random people. I leave them as tips, as I talk to people and they say "Its my Birthday today!" I like to brighten up a persons day and give them one, or is someone just is really nice to me at the market, post office, wherever... I like seeing someone's face and start asking a million questions right away!
I tell people metals won't make you rich, but they will keep you rich! Keep enjoying life everyone! Semper Fi Stateside!
