hey marthyn! i’ve been working on ankle technique and my left foot is great and has a lot of power and can top out at about 220 bpm. my right foot just seems to lack power and can top out at 200. also i can’t go from quarter notes to eighth notes (and this is one foot at a time) i just can get my right foot to start a ankle stoke section without having issues. i’d love some help fixing this problem. thanks man. i love your videos.
Free tip: turn this video playback speed to 0.75 - If you want to practice along John`s strokes
I have tried this exercise before a show to warm up and it works very well!!! 🤩
John, my mind just gets blown by the way You holding sticks. It's really working. Thanks for this lesson. I think I will develop this technique, I've tried open close previously but I could not sync it with heel toe. DISCLAMER to all non belivers - this guy is far from "cheating" simply outsitting technician
LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes kids ...it takes time and practice it is not just seat and hit ..
My hands have always been my weakest point in my playing. Thanks for this video mang! Dont think I'll start at 130 bpms though hahah!
Double strokes did wonders for my left hand. I like throwing in triple and quad strokes to mix it up too.
Is there any video he is talking about gravity blast beats ? first recording and so on ?
what pad is it?
You should react to Oki Fadhlan - Jasad (Siliwangi) DRUM playthrough ; )
Its good instruction.I suck so bad,I won't ever hit 130 bpm.seriously
Just keep practicing mang and you'll get there!!!
Can someone please tell me what practice pad he’s using? 🥁
it seems to be a xymox practice pad
"Follow along, if you feel."
Yeaaah I think I'm gonna pass on that. I'd drop out after like four notes with the right hand. Left hand won't even try at 130. But thank's for asking.
Them start at slower Tempos. Ur Not becoming as good as john over night Boy.
I'm weird, my right hand is 120bpm 16th
and my left is 80bpm 16th. ????
Both my feet are 120 bpm 16th. I wish i had the will to fix that
What practice pad is that?
Xymox
Man...I might as well and sell my kit.
This is when the switch grip technique saves me :D
Looks like john is having a bit of a rough day here. I don't think I've seen him err that many times in hundreds of hours of live shows/footage. (No guys not bashing actually that's a pretty heavy statement regarding how little I see him fudge anything
Im a guitar player why am i here
Because drums rule brother!
😂 "right and left hand only" like it's nothing. Tell us about that push pull technique, John, because it's taking me forever to reach 130.
@@Ultr4noob it's minimalized push pull blended with thumb and finger work
Nobody makes 300bpm death metal look more casual than john longstreth. His playthroughs are laughable.
