S&S Diesel sells a Disaster Prevention Bypass Kit. This reroutes the Fuel thru a 2 micron screen and filters return line to the tank. It’s best $450 you can spend. It practically reduces $12000 repair to under $2000 New CP pump and labor

Corey, my 2013 F250 did the exact same thing yesterday! It cranks up a storm, but won't start. What was the issue? I plan on hooking up diagnostics today, but no check engine light. Thanks in advance. Heck, I only have 85K miles.
My 12' f250 did the exact same thing, luckily a had a scanner with me and throw a P0335 code calling out a bad CKP sensor. I erase the code right away due to traffic and the truck started right up like nothing happened but at the next stop the truck die again so I just cranked again and continue driving slow in 1st and 2nd gear since my home was two blocks away, but the truck didn't shut off. I am afraid to go down the road again until I figured this out. Any suggestions?
Just had one of these come in today, it ran good and gailed during rhe test drive, followed the pin Point test untill the inspect portion for the vokume control and found the exact same thing.
Unfortunately your buddies injectors are screwed. Ford makes a kit that come with the pump injectors rails and all the works for around 3 grand. Had to clean tank lines etc metal was everywhere.
The sensors are called different things because the 6.7 powerstroke is a FoMoCo motor. Not a Navistar motor ( 6.9, 7.3, 6.0, 6.4 ) . As such, it is not a HUEI motor. The sensors and regulators perform tasks in a different way. No injector pump on huei engines.
I have this same issue with my 2017 6.7 powerstroke. I did the driver side valve cover and now it won’t start. I get a p027a fuel pump module B circuit/ open. There’s only one fuel pump module by the fuel tank on the frame and it is good( power, ground, wires to ecm all good ) and p2291. Check for shaving at cp4 non there. Low side pressure is 55-60 psi when I connect a gauge. Have cycled the key a million times. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

@@joshmoulton1580 I just changed to the DCR pump as well. My truck cranks, but doesn't start. We purged the diesel lines and still no start. A mechanic said it might be that the timing is off.
@@salinasvalleytowing7842 I found my problem. It was a broken wire up to the PCM module. I pulled down the fuse center and found it right underneath. If you squeeze the PCM module will needle nose pliers it will light everything back up. The second you take them off they stop working. I found my forscan wouldn't connect until I found the issue. I hope this helps

I'm not sure if I talk about it in the video valve that basically controls your fuel pressure is on the driver side fuel rail in the back towards the firewall. You can remove that and check for rust contamination. If you see rust on the end of it go ahead and replace it. This can be a very difficult code to figure out without software.

Also says that the part that is on the end of the rail with the tiny filter/screen has gummed up diesel, blaming bad fuel, says I need to replace the entire fuel system. Said all of this without even getting to the CP4 pump and not even inspecting it for failure
@@cincydieselrepair6893 he said that he found minimal shavings in the bottom of the top filter housing, no rust, no water. He showed me the plug in part that hooks on the end of the rail. Looked a little gelly and possible minimal shavings. I have personally seen the top of the Cp4 pump, clean as a wistle, screen clean on the plug in part (top of cp4 pump) no failure that I saw. Again, truck no start after replacing the top fuel filter, just cranks
Got a similar problem with a 2012 f450 was driving and it died, throwing a p2291 I plugged in my scan tool and the fuel rail pressure won’t go past 300 (desired psi 4700), I got to the cp4 pump and removed the sensor but no metal shavings visible any tips on where to look or can the cp4 fail even if no metal shavings visible
This customer only had me replace the injection pump. I would highly recommend buying the kit from Ford to replace the whole injection system if your pump has failed
Thank you for this nice video. I parked a 2015 6.7 f350 with low fuel level and when I came back after few days to start the truck it didnt start. I added some fuel and jumped the battery and nothing changed. I scanned it and it says P2291. Any idea what can be wrong considering the fuel level was low before it happen?
@@cincydieselrepair6893 fuses are good. It had low fuel level when I left the truck last time. Some one told me air might traoped in the fuel system and thats why you get P2291 (low fuel pressure code). Told me I need to orime the car by turning the ignition key 10-20 times. Does it make sense?

I did primed the truck 10-20 times and nothing happened (I feel the problem is related before I add the fuel to the tank). People say the CP4 gets damage when running dry. Any idea if the CP4 might have some issues in my truck? Or maybe any insight if any bubble is trapped in the high pressure fuel pump section? Or to remove those air bubbles from high pressure section?
I replaced the flow regulator value and the sending unit and fuel pump I replaced all filter and the truck still does not turn on the truck did have a lot of metal shavings when I replaced the flow regulator what do you think it could be I’m running out of options

So I will see the shavings first thing (that upper intake is a bitch in the back ) My question is did it run ok with just the pump replaced. No doubt the right way is to replace the whole system. But Im thinking maybe replace the pump, take the injectors out (clean them as best you can) and pump fuel through the system and flush it as best you can. Put injectors back in and send it to the auction. So my question is did it run ok with just the pump replacement ? And thanks again - really good video
I see this truck every day it is never had an issue since just replacing the pump we did nothing else other than fuel filters per the customer's request. He knows the risk of what could happen but so far the truck has not had any issues.
Have this issue on my 2012 350. What happens if there is no metal anywhere. I just changed the FPR valve on the back of the rail and still no start. Its marginally better. Getting about 700 rail pressure and doesnt drop as fast as before.
@@octavioalvarez6300 ended up taking it to a shop. They are terrible and ended up replacing my entire fuel system.... first they did the fuel rail with sensors. Didnt fix it. Did hpfp. Didnt fix it. So they are doing injectors now and hopefully that fixes it. The problem seems to be injectors according to 3rd party fuel shop. They say the injectors are corroded but they werent when i put them in there.
Any update now? Dealing with this exactly. Did hpfp but it still won’t start and now acts like the starters going bad. I’m just concerned that it may be fuel built up in the cylinder and that’s making it crank slow but I have my doubts on that because I would believe after a week or so all the fuel would have seeped past the rings into the oil resulting in empty cylinders so it should crank for a bit fine, but it doesn’t.
As I explained several times in the video the problem was a crank no start. Around 13 and 1/2 minutes into the video I pulled the flow control valve and show the metal debris from the cp4 pump indicating a bad cp4 pump. I also say the solution is to replace the entire fuel system which is exactly what Ford will tell you to do when a cp4 pump fails. This was a diagnostic video not a repair video.
You got to run a fuel additive to lubricate the cp4 pump it's a must or you will have a failure cp4 pumps lubricate with the fuel diesel fuel in this country has none hardly

Buy clean fuel, keep it clean, change filters, drain water trap, add a water disperser/ Cetane booster at every fill.
My 2013 F-450 has the same issue 180,000 miles, Dealership is working on it now.

Check your fuel pump relay by the fuse box. Bypass the relay and put a stand alone relay. 2017 have issue with the fuse box relay

If you parked the truck running then it shouldn't have air in the system but turning the key off and on 5 to 10 times will prime the system

@@RashidROwlia I would remove the flow control valve on top of the injection pump and look for metal shavings like I show in the video

If it had metal shavings under the flow regulator then the injection pump came apart
What if there isn't any metal shavings in there
Then I would start looking into a bad fuel pressure regulator on the back of the driver's side fuel rail
My is a 6.4 same code, shut off while driving and after warm engine, after cools down restart fine again.

@@awsomeman62 Problem ended up being that all the injectors were corroded and one was leaking really bad. Truck runs and drives. 9k later. LOL
