I’ve seen a few comments from people rage quitting my channel due to my comment on Apple Fanboys. I’m quite glad to see them go, honestly. And that is because, despite all the crap I give to my fan base, I generally get the feeling you are all obnoxiously opinionated and annoying (like myself which is why I love you and hate you), but not toxic, closed-minded, or easily offended. So, to lose a few who fit the prior mold is a wonderful thing for the rest of us.
Also, a quick lesson in correlation. If someone states “all Apple Fanboys are likely narrow-minded idiots who support Bernie Sanders,” one cannot make the conclusion that the individual has made the claim that “all Bernie Sanders supporters are narrow-minded idiots”.
However, I’d argue the ones who rage quit the channel fit that descriptor quite well.
I disagree with you on so much but I'm not gonna rage quit your channel. I enjoy watching someone concisely breaking down videos. Honestly dude, how the fuck do you know so much?
Fuck em. Anyway who can't handle someone having a different opinion should probably stay off the internet. Great video btw, this is one of my top 3 just because the rhythm is so bouncy and catchy, it really gets stuck in your head.
We Skeem “All the things that very very narrow minded, unintelligent people support.” Saying that after listing two items creates correlation between that statement and the items listed. If you’d like to clear up a misunderstanding and say that isn’t what you meant, then sure. Otherwise no, this comment is moot and frankly rather childish. And although I fully understand that political views do not effect the content you create, in this case you directly made that comment in your content. I still watch JonTron because despite the fact that I disagree with his personal views, it doesn’t effect the quality or message of the content he releases. That comment should not have been made in a video with absolutely no relation to the subject matter. PSTSCRPT: I have absolutely no idea why or how my original comment got duplicated a thousand times, or how UA-cam did not delete them for spam. I apologize for that, but my original point still stands.
I am not saying this because I have any ill will toward you, I understand some people differ in their view points and it frankly mostly has to do with where and how they were raised. And I understand that no side is “the right side.” I just like your content and need you to understand that this is the sort of thing that KILLS channels before they even start, and sometimes even when they’re bigger.
Vile Vindicator channels get cancelled because they apologize and give into people looking to get their feelings hurt over a non-issue. I’ll never apologize for something I’m not sorry about. But I’ll always double down if people overreact. My character and integrity are more important than my view and sub counts.

Computers typically count starting from zero, so 0 through 17 would actually be 18 total lines of code in meatbag numbers.
While that is true it would still come out as 18 lines of code even if you start at 0. So maybe a hidden code reference.

I think I know the answer to this. Back in the EARLY computer days, in MIT, a group of students there would test how good a newcomer was based on them writing code in assembly (raw code that the machine reads) to see if they could write code that would determine where the decimal place was in a number. For the longest time, most people could only get it down to 20 lines of code. Then, one individual came in and showed them a way to do it in 17 lines. Also related, the 17 line of code being in the 16 rap line can linked to how a lot of things in programming start on 0 and not 1. So if you count 17 line starting from 0 as your first number, you get to 16.

1) It’s a reference to a dispute to 17 lines of code that supposedly came from Microsoft’s SCO UNIX, which were then apparently stolen by Linux
2) In the battle, that is actually his seventeenth line in his verse. The “I’m sorry Bill, I’m afraid I can’t let you do that” counts as one line
I feel like We Skeem's sanity slips every time he reacts to an ERB video.

Post Premiere Update: dude, the pauses are why i watch your reactions, it's so frustrating when i see other channels like "oh that's crazy" when i KNOW full well they only laughed cause the flow SEEMS like a joke. I think when Jobs talks about people paying their taxes on PC and listen to the beatles on Mac is also about how you feel. PC is connected to work and taxes, things you mostly don't want to do, but it's necessary, while Mac is connected to enjoying great music and relaxing.

17 LINES OF CODE EXPLANATION:
For the 17 lines joke, computers count different than humans.
Instead of it going 1,2,3,4... it starts at 0 and goes 0,1,2,3. So in a program, if I were to count how many things were in this list of data [1,2,3,4,5,6,7], the program's output wouldn't be 7, it'd be 6. You just have to know as a programmer to add 1 to 6 to get what would be a normal count to us.
So, basically, in this case 17 lines equals 18 lines.

Possible secondary meaning but the primary is definitely the left-pad patent suit. Removing a 17 line piece of code renders JavaScript useless until the new owner reinstated it on the platform.
That'd only work if Hal had said beat you on the 17th line of code, however since he said 17 lines of code it literally means 17 since it's not counting order like 0th 1st 2nd 3rd it's counting amount and in coding amounts still start from 1, for example in the array: [5,3,4,2] the first element has an index of 0, however if you run a .length command on it it will return 4, however it could be an oversight on ERB's part and the coding joke could be the intention, however it could also refer to a few other things such as the manchester baby which was the first computer and had a program 17 lines long.
This is absolutely not how counting works in code.
@@fernandobanda5734 I'm just a hobbyist programmer, and this is what I have been seen and taught (in regards to indexing and how computers count positions and such), could you please elaborate on how computers actually count, so that I and anyone else reading could learn instead of be confused by an unsupported claim?
And unsupported doesn't mean I necessarily think it's wrong. I know I'm not entirely knowledgeable on low level computing, so I know I could fully be in the wrong here, however with no explanation of why and where I'm wrong I cannot fully accept your statement, sorry.

The "Daisy Girl" line is actually from the movie 2000: A Space Oddesy, because when Dave was disassembling Hal's memory network, Hal started to break down and one of the final things he started doing before he shut down was sing the song 'Daisy', with the lines, "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer true..." (I was also the first song sung buy a computer so you were also correct, but the connection was a bit deeper than it just being the first song sung by a computer.)
That's why the line was 'Beat you till' you're singing 'bout a daisy girl.' It's basically what Hal did when he was 'beaten' by Dave.

Learning to code Hello World is probably the first thing most programmers learn (at least online), no matter the language.
It's done because it's a good way to introduce programming and a language, and it is is from tech traditional from some of the earliest programming textbooks.
There also is a myth flotaing around that "Hello World" were the words on the internet. While poet, and while I wish it were true, it sadly is not true and is just a programming myth.

This was my favorite battle when it first came out. It was the first of many that I memorized.
17 lines of code is a reference to the “left-pad” JavaScript patent lawsuit which caused major issues for any JS developers. When the 17 line left-pad code was pulled from NPM JS coders could no longer run the proper install command to run their code. That coupled with it being the actual 17th bar of Hal’s rap is where the genius lies.

Also, a bit about the rocket... The U.S. Military also used Linux, briefly, instead of Windows, due to the known security issues. So the computers that controlled the rockets were Linux, since HAL's repping it.
