      Yeah, but on the other hand he did believe that the modern world/society turns more and more towards nihilism - which he described as pretending that there is no problem and chosing the easiest path - and it is both inevidable and unstoppable (I agree that he hated it, but still that was the main focus of his many works). Also that with God's "death" all the metaphysical values are gone and invalidated (and need to be remade from scratch) - which does fall within modern definitions of nihilism.

    This battle is one of my favourites. So much historical meaning behind in every line. And big thanks cuz i thought i understood all historical disses and lines, but this breakdown gave so much more information what i didn't even know. Thank you for your effort. Love your content!

    Well watching Skeem have a breakdown doing this breakdown has finally made me sub to this channel. Despite the trolling and things I can find annoying with his videos his commitment to really dissecting this beyond amazing. Good work Skeem.

    The amount of meaning packed into this battle speaks volumes about the genius of the ERB team. This is one of my favorite battles and is probably their "deepest" as far as packing meaning into virtually every word.

    Have you ever looked into getting those sitting/standing conversion desks for your office? I've heard a lot of people swear by them during long streaming/recording/editing sessions as it lets them stand for a bit by just lifting the desk up. I know physically sitting isn't the entire issue, but it might help alleviate some of it if you can stretch out while still doing work.

    "A bowl is most useful when it is empty" is referring to the potential of the item before assigning a duty to it. For example, an empty bowl can be used for any multitude of activities(holding candy, placing on your head as a helmet, dog water bowl, etc), but a bowl full of cereal can only be used to eat cereal(or throw it at someone?).

      @MasterTMO 4 роки тому

      I object! A bowl of cereal can also be used to put out your hair if it's on fire! And ... and ... okay, I got nothing else.

    I don't tend to react visibly much when watching. One of many reasons why I've never been tempted to do any reactions of my own. It'd be very boring to watch. But this one had me grinning from ear to ear when the philosophers turned on each other, and laughed out loud at "What Is Winning?" Watching your mental breakdown over-analyzing this added to my joy. Thank you.

    Good stuff as always. You always seem to have something to add I didn't realize that was there. After first hearing this rap, I listened to audio version of both Sun Tzu's 'Art of War' and Lao Tzu's 'The Way' (of life). Lao Tzu said (iirc) going against 'The Way' only causes distress to a person which is another tangent on the "get of the way" bar.

    Hard to pick just one favorite video from you, but if I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO CHOOSE.....it's this one for me.
    I really appreciate the dedication and effort you took into editing this truly lengthy, informative, and even hilarious breakdown of what is easily one of the BEST WRITTEN ERBs to ever hit UA-cam. I also appreciate the "I hate my life, I hate my life" bit at the end with you singing and nodding to the beat all defeated. I find myself doing that in my head when rewatching the battle! 😅 Overall, EXCELLENT reaction, FANTASTIC BREAKDOWN, and a REAL GOOD LAUGH. I know this was probably one of, if not, the hardest ERB reaction video you've ever had to sit down and record, edit, and publish, but in my eyes, that suffering was well worth it. 👏👏👏👏👏 Thanks for making all the amazing, diverse, and unique content that you do and for brightening my days whenever you upload. Much love as always to you and your beautiful wife and kids. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    Candide, ou l'Optimisme is a French satire first published in 1759 by Voltaire, a philosopher of the Age of Enlightenment.[6] The novella has been widely translated, with English versions titled Candide: or, All for the Best (1759); Candide: or, The Optimist (1762); and Candide: Optimism (1947).
    It begins with a young man, Candide, who is living a sheltered life in an Edenic paradise and being indoctrinated with Leibnizian optimism by his mentor, Professor Pangloss.[8] The work describes the abrupt cessation of this lifestyle, followed by Candide's slow and painful disillusionment as he witnesses and experiences great hardships in the world. Voltaire concludes Candide with, if not rejecting Leibnizian optimism outright, advocating a deeply practical precept, "we must cultivate our garden", in lieu of the Leibnizian mantra of Pangloss, "all is for the best" in the "best of all possible worlds".
