Great video! I can attest to the run-out on those plastic shafts. Had to upgrade the driveshaft in my Vaterra V100c when I went brushless on that. The shaft would vibrate the whole car, and make a terrible racket bouncing off the rest of the internals. Definitely a must for high power brushless, that is for certain.
I got the Alpine Gt4 and could not for the life of me figure out why some mk2's come with the cover over the esc and receiver and some don't. Thank you for letting me know there is a long wheelbase version. That explains it! Odd that they did not make a cover for the short wheelbase cars though. That cover is visually appealing hiding all the cabling.
Hi nice upgrades. I got a r8. In addition to the center shaft, dose the stock motor plate need to be changed for the hobbywing motor. Thanks in advance for your help.
I love this model it’s like a 4tec on steriods only if they had steel driveshaft cause I know these plastics on a speedrun gonna go any other parts that would fit that or any suggestions

These parts will all fit either wheelbase car except the center shaft. There is a long one or a short one depending on which wheelbase car you're running
I just bought a fazer hellcat i am planning on doing the upgrades in this vid but what motor, servo, and esc are you using bro could u list it... Thanks.
I appreciate that a lot! Thank you for watching. The parts will be available through www.kyoshoamerica.com and should be available this month! So keep a lookout!
Does the chassis flex like the hpi rs4 sport 3? I bought one and ran it before I checked the major chassis flex. It’s been sitting on my toolbox for over a year because of that.
What wheel/tire combo are you running? Looking for better grip setup over stock ones (mind are bald and I’m in the market for replacements). Most I see online are way to narrow or short (not suited for this RC car, they’d look way small).
My car has arrived the other day I put my brushless system car runs great very very fast the only problem I have is when they put the decals is too many bubbles I was disappointed in the body
About that driveshaft... I asked you a few months ago about it... After I got it thanks to your response, I installed it. Ran it on my bench and immediately noticed some serious run out at higher speeds. Like an idiot I ran it full speed anyways just to see how bad it would wobble. It literally lasted 2 seconds before it went full wet noodle. It smacked my lipo hard enough that it left a permanent indentation rendering it unsafe for further use and damaged the ESC case as well. I was running a HW Max10 with a 4000kv motor on 3S at the time. Needless to say I was thoroughly impressed with the destruction. Kind of Scared me to be honest. Anyways, was wondering if you had any issues like that happen to you. I checked the shaft before installing it and it was straight. So I'm not sure what happened. I ended up bending it all back well enough that I could run it all day on 2S. I currently have a Frankensteined Slash shaft mounted in there but still scared to run it on 3S. Any thoughts? Lol I have the destruction on an uploaded vid if your interested in seeing it...
Im sorry that happened. Are you running factory drive cups? Also, if the bearing that supports the rear pinion isnt seated properly it will allow the driveshaft to run out and be damaged.
@@FreshSqueezedRC No worries brother! Not your fault, and I wasn't complaining. Was just curious if you ever had same issue. Saw you last night on Stevos Friday Night Hangouts and reminded me to ask you about it. I did have the plastic cups at the time it happened. I have since got the metal ones. The bearings and everything were good, so honestly zero idea as to why it happened. The shaft was straight but looked like a bass string when spun at high speed. Then it just bent too far and slapped the chassis and lipo in the process. Just wish I got that moment on video... Wheels were off the ground as well, so maybe having no load could have caused it. Not sure. Probably going to keep running the Slash shaft for awhile, but definitely run it now at all times with a thick piece of unbreakable body protecting the lipo from possible shaft failures. Still my favorite street car, prefer it over my Infraction since I dont have to replace tires EVERY time I run it. Lol
