That looks awesome.....all you need now is an ESS sound box.....with the Dixie horn.....and then your talking real General Lee.....can't wait for the next one....👍
I've really enjoyed watching your first two General Lee videos. You did an awesome job on them and I just can't wait to see your other two General Lee builds.
So, I have to say thank you very much for the idea and tips, I now have a pretty close version of the GL and also bought another shell and painted it pearl white with blacked out stickers and named her the Ghost of the General Lee, I also installed a Sense Innovations ESS -Dual speaker so now I have engine sound and of course the Dixie Horn, super happy and all thanks to you!
Just subscribed after watching this. The General Lee is one of my all-time dream cars, and I love what you did! If I would've known about the Kyosho Fazer in the first place, I would've saved up my money a bit more instead of getting a Tamiya TT-02 with the '99 Impreza Monte Carlo body. If I ever do get the Kyosho Fazer, I'll be sure to do these! I am not the best with applying decals to rc's, but I'm sure my dad can help me out with that since he has experience with applying decals to model cars when he was younger. Once again, this is absolutely amazing, and I love it!
If you follow the methods that I used for the decals, it's almost fool-proof. You take as much time as you need to get them where you need them, then use tape references. Wet the decals so you can move them around until they're in the right spot, then pat the water out to keep them there.
Thanks. Selling them isn't something I really want to do because it takes away my time from other projects, plus for the hours I have to put in to make one, I'd end up needing to charge $1200 or more, which seems kind of ridiculous.
Maybe because people don't want to be associated with slavery or something? Idk, I don't see a problem with swapping the rebel flag with an American flag. But so many people go with the rebel flag just to be inflammatory, not for any kind of accuracy to the show.
@SSGSSGogeta574 for me, there's a difference between people who put the flag on to be show accurate and don't mention it, and the people who go out of their way to mention it so they can "own the libs with my rebel flag". I respect one of them, and it's not the latter
thanks! I jumped the car about 10 times to get the shot I used in the opener, and then it got retired from jumping. I have the WLToys/RJSpeed car for the jumps now.

@@BudgetRC_Channel I appreciate the response, I found the Kyosho dimensions and figured it was too small. I am using a ProForm body shell, although a 1970 Charger. Since that's their mini chassis, the Malibu hard body is the only choice that's narrow enough to work, but you'll need to stretch the chassis to the correct wheelbase.

Hey man.... EXCELLENT JOB on this 1/10th scale General Lee body. Is there anyway I could pay you to make me a completely finished one just like this one ??? Looking forward to hearing from you
If you watch my previous video I go over multiple options with some of the pros and cons. I haven't built them all yet, but when I do I'll be doing a follow-up video to compare them all.
I don't remember the filename, but they were the 6mm offset wheels designed for the vintage tires. The link in the description has 4 varieties: vintage style (smaller for more tire sidewall) and modern style, each with 0mm offset or 6mm offset.
Could you do one of these for me because I don’t have a 3-D printer or anything like that and I don’t have patience but I really want one of these cars. Thank you and have a blessed day.
unfortunately, no. This body has a longer wheelbase that only works with the longer Kyosho Fazer chassis. There is a body available from MCI Racing that I highlighted in my General Lee intro video that I'll be doing a build with soon. That body is designed for standard sized touring car chassis, including the Tamiyas.
First and foremost, wow that looks awesome! I noticed the link shows they are out of stock. Do you sell them or know where else I can find one? I’m very interested and would much rather buy from you since it’s perfect, yee-haw!
Ok, so I found the car, wheels and push bar, do you know where I can buy the grill? Everything else was on Ebay, except for the 69 grill, do you sell them on Ebay?
Great build but water based decals? Not for me. I got ones that stick. Don't have to worry about them tearing, also my bull bar is attached to the body and I don't and would not jump my RC. Rather run it then tear up the car.
These aren't waterslide decals, they're normal adhesive backed decals. I used the spray to help me position them properly. Tear up the body if you like, it's your car!
@@BudgetRC_Channel Not me I run it not gonna tear it up by jumping stuff, if people want to do that then to each there own as I take care of my RC cars not rough with them because I want them to last. My mistake on the decals.
@@BudgetRC_Channel Cool can't wait to check it out, any recommendations on the glue used for the tires? In-case they wear want to be able to remove them without ruining the vector rims, thanks!
@@carljr4541 not sure there. Acetone is the only thing that'll soften superglue and I'm not sure what it'll do to printed wheels. My suggestion would just be to use a couple small dabs of glue. It shouldn't take much to keep them on. Mine aren't even glued on to my car yet and it still drives fine.
Looks great! Although I don't understand why they don't put any care into the proportions of the body, same goes with Autoart, Greenlight, Johnny Lightning and Jada are the worst offenders by far.
With RC cars, the bodies are formed from Lexan, which can limit what they do. That's why the rear fascia is a separate piece. They also need the bodies to fit on their existing chassis, which means the wheelbase and track width is already pre-determined.
@@BudgetRC_Channel That's true about the body having to be the length of the chassis. But the Diecast companies don't have any excuses for some of the trash they produce. The best 1/18 Charger casting is still the Hot Wheels one from like 20 years ago.

What kind of guitar string did you make the antenna out of if you don't mind me asking.
I think I used a "G" string from a normal set of 10-46. It was the largest unwound string that I had laying around.
Fantastic
Hello, Great Video. Do you think that Kyosho body shell would fit on a Traxxas slash LCG chassis? and if not do you have a suggestion? thank you

You're absolutely right! I worked with them on a related project that will be featured on the channel soon and they were very accommodating.
You need to make hundreds of these an get ready to sell at Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville,GA. Think 3rd wk in October
