It depends on the climate. Here in Virginia (zone8a/7) they do very well in the late spring- late fall, but must be brought indoors throughout the winter and early spring which slows the growth. Overall, it took around 5mo for a 6” spear to fully extend and open.

They’re 5 gal pots, and The only reason I haven’t gone bigger yet is to make sure they fit in that bedroom this year! Haha

How old is that foxtail?
I’m not 100% sure since I didn’t grow this one from seed, but I’m guess about 3-4yrs due to the amount of fronds.
