After falling off the Keto train during the holidays, I started having a lot of pain in my knee, which I had injured during a fall over the summer, and in my hip, which has diagnosed arthritis. After a few weeks solidly following a ketogenic diet, all pain is gone. Sugar and wheat are just not worth the pain! Love these videos by Dr. Becky & Dr. Keith. So much helpful information. Thank you!

I am living prof of how Keto relives inflammation. I a retired professional semi operator for 40 years! I always took care of myself. I was starting to gain weight. I hate carrying excess weight. I stated Keto, after around six months I regained normal mobility to my neck. I thought that my neck was just going to be a pain for the rest of my life, because of the abuse it suffered from years of riding the Iron Horse. Keto is fantastic!

Stopped the high intake of carbs and sugar and all of my back pain went away. Shoulders still bother some but was drastically reduced in pain. I take it that the inflammation was causing most of it. My back pain was there since I was a teenager. Didn’t know it was from sugar.

Talking about inflammation, I weighed 300 pounds Ten months ago and I had the proverbial '3 months pregnant belly'.
Ten months later, I weigh 210 pounds and I almost have a six-pack!
And I've never consumed so much fat in my life!

@@onesam2go Thanks. My weight loss total was 303 and I've kept it off ever since (which took me 10 months). I'm into my fourth year now and as I have never treated keto as a diet (I believe it to be a more natural way of eating), I intend to stay low carb forever. I only eat two meals per day during a 5 hour window, so I'm fasted for 19 hours. I relax a little during an All-inclusive holiday of course, but 99% of the time, I'm happily keto. I've got my joints back and a hell of a lot of inflammation has disappeared...as has my prediabetes. My doctor can't understand how I've dodged type 2 diabetes, but insists that keto will kill my heart and that I should follow a plant based diet. I just smile and say thank you.

I have been binge-watching your videos (both Dr. Becky and 2 Fit Docs). I've been on/off low-carb and more recently keto for years. I manage to do it for a few months but then find myself slowly slipping off track until I'm in a full-blown binge. Your videos are excellent, easy to understand, inspiring, and encouraging. Today is day 1 of serious taking care of myself. But what REALLY blew my mind is when I tried to find out more about you, I discovered you are almost right in my backyard! I grew up in Colonial Park, at age 8 moved to Paxtonia, and at age 15 moved to Lockwillow Avenue. My goodness...you are in my old stompin' grounds! And this makes me even more happy that I discovered you!!!

If you get a test for hsCrp avoid exercising the day before the test. Exercise induces a bit of inflammation. Need to find the study done by Volek/Phinney that IIRC showed that the higher the carbohydrate content of the diet the higher the inflammation. No idea what the makeup of the diet was except they tested different percentages of carbohydrates.

I eat LCHF with IF since March 2020! I’ve only lost a stone, disappointed beyond believe! But overweight for many years so I guess it will take time? I feel well, lost 4 inches off my tummy and a whole dress size, and only 1 migraine! My inflammation marker was apparently 29 since 2009, but last summers BT was 17! October’s was 15, & January’s is 13. So happy it’s going down. And this way of eating is sustainable and comfortable to me too. But how do these numbers equate to Keith’s?

I've been doing keto/low-carb for about 6 months. I suffered from a major depressive episode beginning in November and am just emerging from it. I wonder if this could be related to keto?
Also, I have a question about tomatoes. I regularly enjoy shirataki noodles with tomato sauce I make. Are tomatoes pro-inflammatory? Thank you.

I want to say that I have been keto/low carb for 2+ years. I had/have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and frozen shoulder besides prediabetes, etc. All of these conditions got better on Keto. If I let bad oils, bad grains or bad carbs creep in I feel terrible. Over the past month, I have dialed my carbs down further to 5 net a day and eliminated any questionable ingredients (corn fiber, tapioca fiber, wheat gluten, etc.) and my shoulder pain finally went completely away. Amazing.

I’ve stayed between 1.0 and 2.0 GKI eating about a tablespoon of raw honey daily (as part of fatty salad dressings with cod liver and cod, or other fish). No problem with the raw honey. I also eat lots of dark chocolate (with monk fruit as sweetener). I’m amazed with the ketomojo and so happy to know I can eat these foods. But I was only able to do that after a multi day fast that knocked me deep into GKI (below 1.0). My goal is anti inflammation more than losing weight, but lost 18 lbs in 3 months quite effortlessly without added exercise.

    Hi Maddie!!
Doing IF helps me immensely, but I seriously need to get back on LCHF and even Keto to help my migraines. My diet is pretty healthy, just not low carb enough and I know there is gluten hidden in some of the sauces I've been using (I started a food delivery service that is delicious but not the organic paleo one) and that's not good for me.
I'm thinking of doing your Keto challenge - is it suitable for one person?

Kind of funny I went into the doctor because I wanted to be tested for several things which he did and I also asked for a test to be done to see how much information I had and he refused. My results came back that I was pre-diabetic had fatty liver. My cholesterol was way. Hi, my triglycerides were away. Hi my LDL it was way. Hi, my HDL was way low and still he refused to test me for information said it wasn’t necessary as well said that there was nothing wrong with me. I was just fine even though my test clearly shows that I was not fine.

My story is the same like what I am reading here. After having a bad case of Covid I began having severe pain in the heel of my foot. My higher carb diet didn’t help me either. I went back to fasting and Keto. After just 5 days my pain is greatly reduced! I need to stick with this program. The pain was excruciating and prevented me from exercising...a vicious cycle. Keto has so many other benefits besides lowering my inflammation. Mental clarity, better mood and a ton of energy at a young 57. Thanks Docs.

If my A1C was normal and I didn't have a fat belly, I would've contiued eating sweet potato and rice, etc. But, carbs finally caught up with me at 50, my A1C reached pre-diabetic levels. I wish I would've known better when I was younger. I created insulin resistance with my decades long low-fat high-carb diet. Stuck on Keto now, feel great but wish I would've known better to prevent damage.

new on the low carb for 11 days and I am already cutting pain killer for my arthritis + rosacea is fading a bit. I am type 2 and my last blood glucose were horrific near 12 and that was with 4 metformin a day. I got high blood pressure and I am 30kg overweight. I finally had enough to be in a depressive state of food addiction and self destruction, constantly in pain. The depression is lifting day by day the energy to do thing and move is increasing. I stopped all sweetners , sugars and high carb. I am even making my own mayo as I could not find any dressing appropriate in the shop in the uk. the family is still eating the crap but there is so much stuff that I won't be buying when it is gone. I will have resistance to DETOX the house completely but even if I cut the rubbish for them by half I will be happy. I believe you neeed to want to do this, I can not really impose it on my husband but he started to look at the lunch salad and expressed interest. the problem is he still want bread and high carb and he is still using sweetners. I seriously hope that when he start to see some serious result that will make him do it too as it would be so much easier if we were in it toghether
