    Tested one of these beauties out about a week or so ago. The first thing that struck me was how light and agile it was. It literally just tipped in where you aimed it with no complaints and just felt so secure through the corners. And the sound from the stock pipe along with the induction roar was actually very intoxicating. Just made you ride a little bit naughty.
    It is a lot of money (which is why I haven't bought one - yet) but it's also a lot of bike for your money.
    Great little review as always. Watched from start to finish 👍

      Awesome thanks! I always worry my reviews are a little on the long side. I love the bike, I think its pricey but its good value for what you get. Id test other bikes you're looking at on the same day if possible. When I rode last years model I rode the mt09 straight after and I found the difference was massive. Obviously some would prefer an mt09 and I rode the standard rather than the SP so wont be the same for everyone but I think all agree the street triple rs is a pretty awsome machine

    Had a test ride last week on Monday. Loved the bike. Got my bike on Thursday. Cost 10500, price just went up. Can't go over 5000rpm for the first 300 miles as I am running it in. Get extra 1000rpm between 300 miles and 600 miles.Find seat rather high being short. Shame the RS doesn't come in a low seat version. Black version does look better than on the website. That is the version I bought.

    • @TommyBarnezTV
      @TommyBarnezTV  4 роки тому

      Awesome! Thats a great delivery time from test ride to delivery of bike. Those break in miles will go quick. Yeah I've wondered that myself, why have a lower seat height in the r and not the rs, its probably to do with the components and not being able to but still a bit of a shame.
      I remember when I bought my v strom it felt higher initially. Unsure if I got used to seat height or the suspension sunk down a little. Its might start feeling better.

      @@TommyBarnezTV Thanks! It has not disappointed me. I just got it back from the first service. It performs exactly how I thought it would, which is to be a light, nimble and fast street fighter for lane splitting LA traffic. I thought about getting the Speed Triple and almost did. However, in the end, I wanted the lightness and flickability that the Street offers.

    I test rode one of these today . Very good. I also test rode the Speed Triple RS , that was very good too.
    I put the deposit down on the Speed Triple RS, I just loved the extra torque, and the high level Arrow end cans made a deeper more menacing sound.
    I currently have a 660cc Street Triple derestricted to 94 BHP, and whilst the 121 BHP Street Triple RS was better, fair bit more top end power, it didn't seem a huge . The Speed Triple RS is a significant upgrade in torque, and I do like low down torque. Makes for lazy gear changing !

    I changed my 2018 ST-R for this years R, it's got all the updates including the "angry wasp" headlights re sculpted back end and quickshifter/auto blipper, it's a definite improvement over the already excellent 2017 to 19 model and it's quicker at the bottom end via a change in gearing but one disappointment IMO is removing the TFT in favour of the old 675 and Daytona dash, I know it was initially £400 cheaper than the previous model (though Triumph have recently bumped the price up by £200) but personally I'd have been happy to pay the extra few quid for the TFT which I really liked.

    How would you pitch this to z900 2020 edition. Seems the rs is more directed towards track with torque and ponnies so high up the rev range. Where z900 has massive low and mid range which would be better for uk roads?

    • @TommyBarnezTV
      @TommyBarnezTV  4 роки тому

      Hard choice as I've not ridden the z900 however the ST RS is just so damn good I doubt I would put the z900 ahead of it after a ride. In terms of torque being high or low in the rev range I think that just gives the bikes slightly different personalities and won't make a real difference on uk roads. Id probably keep the revs higher on the street triple sitting in the sweet spot. I dont think it would translate to one being better suited than the other. I'm sure both are a blast for most people. Have a ride of them both and let me know what you think.

      I probably downshifted at around 30mph on the low end, felt OK to me however I've not ridden a lot of bikes with a downshifter and autoblipper so difficult to compare to others. I found it worked well though and I liked the extra engine breaking you got by not pulling the clutch.

    • @drewtaylor6997

    The street triple with an exhaust has to be one of the best sounding bikes out there.

      Indeed! I often rematch sections of this vid for the audio :) awesome bike and sound. I havent had a go on a speed triple yet and pretty excited about what that offers.

      TommyBarnezTV Copy UK, I’m in the US. Indiana to be exact, 50 miles west of Indianapolis. Near Greencastle. Anyways, love the videos and your take on the Harley-Davidson brand. Keep up the good work bud!

    Nice review, but I disagree that this is a good beginner bike. It's absolutely not. Sure some can do it, but people need to learn how to ride properly first before jumping on one of the faster street bikes.

      Yeah it definitely depends on the rider and the training they have taken. Unsure where in the world you are but in the UK the testing and training is quite indepth compared to the USA for example.

    I'm not a fan of those mirrors. Apart from that it's a good looking bike.

    If only rider's pose leans to naked style. That sporty style is not for me
