    Helped me out heaps. One thing to add tho. If you find it hard to get the terminals off from the fuel filter, I highly suggest to look if there is any mud /dirt in the clips. Grab a spray bottle and squirt the shit out of the clips to loosen them and you'll find they will come straight off. I had that trouble. Having a car that's run through the desert it was something I had to do 🏜️👍 hope that helps

    Use a sharpie pen lid, cut to length and slide over fuel line, then slowly push in while pulling the fuel line, no worries peeps👍🏻

    • @PandaGarage

      +Jerry Sorensen great tip! I just used my hands, pushed the hose toward the filter and gently pulled it back.

    Is this the same as a vz alloytec. i heard you need a tool to disconnect them?

    • @PandaGarage
      @PandaGarage  8 років тому

      Yes, it's the same! You don't need the tool if your gentle with the plugs on either side. They will come off pretty easily

    Why is the fuel filter so hard to access, has anyone moved?

  • @brucekennedy1967
    @brucekennedy1967 Рік тому

    So why do you remove relay when replacing?

    • @PandaGarage
      @PandaGarage  Рік тому

      It’s so you can turn over the motor to remove any fuel out of the line, it doesn’t allow the car to fire

      Fuse for the fuel pump should be under the bonnet near your battery

    • @PandaGarage
      @PandaGarage  5 років тому

      Hi! The Monaro had a supercharged v6 for only two years before it was discontinued. It was known as a Cv6

      @mad ass yeah it did but it was also detuned because they didn’t want it being more powerful than the detuned LS1!

    Wish my 06 GTO was made that way to change the fuel filter. Mines is located in the fuel pump. Geez🤔

    • @PandaGarage
      @PandaGarage  5 років тому +2

      Yeah it’s a shame but to see the Monaro in America as the GTO, Holden had to move the fuel tank for American crash regulations.

  • @nickc2039

    Thats the hard way all u had to do is take the back wheel off without even having to go under car.

  • @specialized29er86
    @specialized29er86 6 років тому +2

    Man that method looks painfull, best prastice is to remove the right rear wheel and its then piss easy to service the fuel filter.

    • @PandaGarage
      @PandaGarage  6 років тому +1

      I didn’t find it painful at all! These cars are quite low from the factory, plus I would need to jack it up anyway to take the wheel off! I’m quite either way works, I just like this way. :)

    Great vid on replacing the fuel filter on your Monaro, however you give no indication of how to disengage the clips to release the lines off the fuel filter. Looks like im replacing my fuel lines!

    • @PandaGarage
      @PandaGarage  8 років тому +1

      +Ben P hi Ben, at the 5:50 mark of the video I state that you push the line towards the filter then hold the clips on either side, then pull away from the filter to release the line from the filter. This is much easier to do than to replace all the lines!

    • @grassyfieldz4578
      @grassyfieldz4578 8 років тому +1

      one thing I found that makes it 10x easier is to spray the clips with wd40 then gently push the clips back and forth do that 5 times then push in and pull out

  • @crxdelsolsir

    Geez... why place a fuel filter there? What a place to put it!

    Why not just disconnect the battery then Change it
