    Having a bad back is no fun. I worked on a garbage truck shortly after high school and my weakest link was my back. Today in order to get out of bed and function normally I do stretches but haven't been doing them lately as they take a lot out of me. Damn buddy, I fully related to this. I have a rare form of MS and sometimes it takes me days to finish the smallest task. I've gotten to the point where I just have to pay someone to work on my cars instead of fixing them myself. I am so sorry to hear this! I actually believed I had primary progressive MS for many years because I have a lot of symptoms besides back pain. I also have a few relatives with MS, definitely not a fun one.

    This is a good reminder for me to get my back checked out. I don't think mine is as serious as yours, but I definetely have a lower back issue that causes issues daily and has for quite a while now. I've just been tolerating it but I should get it looked at by a doctor. Hopefully it doesn't get too much worse. I'd definetely try to get some other professional opinions on treatments or things you can do for it if I were you.

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, you definitely want to get that checked out sooner than later. I highly recommend planking daily, It's the best way to build core muscles without injuring yourself.

      @joshpeterson7241 5 місяців тому +1

      @TheMattsGarage yeah, planking is great! I exercise a little every day and try to take care of back as best as I can. I still should get it looked at because it is getting worse as age. I've just been avoiding it because I'm not sure what can be done about it, but it's better to get it checked out to see what's actually causing it.

    Matt Im so sorry to hear. I just learned of you a few months ago when I was searching youtube for a tutorial explaining how to replace the timing belt in a 04 PT Cruiser because mine snapped when I was driving. Not high rpms really, if I recall correctly it had just shifted into second when I felt a sorta tug, like shifting does, and I had no power, like running out of gas. I was having gas gauge problems, replaced fuel pump 3 times and cant get a proper reading so i thought I was out of gas but I just got some and thought theres no way I was out of gas. Pulled over very quickly, put car in park and tried to turn it over and got a spinning noiise as I turned the key. Maybe 25 mph at the most at an easy take off and 7 tries later trying to time it correctly with the marks lined up and moving it started. It is slightly off at an idle almost like it wants to die sometimes but 4 months now, 5000 miles and it hasent stalled once. Getting rougher though every time start it. Sometimes have to hold the key over longer and it wont catch, sputters but fires up the second time right away like it should.Sometimes it starts right away like it should, what do I do? Leave it? The new tensioner got sabatoged so I used the old one. 103 on the odometer when it snapped. My gut tells me to change the tensoner and time it correctly but Im worried something will happen and I cant afford to be without a vehicle. Also when I shut the hatch or the back doors sometimes the fuel pump activates with the key off. A couple months ago the ASD fuse in the engine comp. blew and a few days ago again because the car died and it like I had no battery. replaced the fuse and its fine. Yours thoughts kind sir???

      That was why we ordered the tests, because the plan was to refer me to a neurosurgeon, but my doctor claims it is cut and dry that they will not operate because the root cause is the spina bifida and he claims because the bone has been missing in that area since I was born my spinal cord has grown to fill the void, so there is no room to have a supportive joint there at this point.

    • @CarswithNash
      @CarswithNash  5 місяців тому +1

      I have had MRI'S in the past as well, but they are different. For a bone scan, they inject you with a radioactive dye and then the scan is quite similar to an MRI machine, but it shows the bones really good instead of the tissues like an MRI does. Apparently the radioactive dye goes to the areas of irritation and highlights them on the scan. It's what they use to detect things like osteoporosis.
