I am a tech sales and For me the pros are :
1. It has a lot of opportunities in the future
2.financially rewarding
3. Getting to meet important people (expand networking)
4. Travel to new places (the good & bad one)
5. At the same time automatically develop my other skills (communicating, entrepreneurship, negotiation,etc)
The Cons are :
1. Pressure (target and time)
2. Rejection over and over
3. Client disappear for no reason (ghosting)
4. Often times its hard to reach out to the decision maker level
But overall for me i like the job and proud of it.
Question to Patrick, how do you usually handle rejection so it would not make you frustrated?

One thing to mention here from a sales perspective. It´s not just the numbers you make, it´s also the Quota (target revenue) the company wants you to achieve. So sometimes it also depends on the numbers your manager wants you to achieve that determines how good you perform. If he´s a bad leader, the numbers are not realistic and you will underpferform. This is also an easy way to cut your wage if he doesn´t like you or got some personal problem with you.

Could you please do a video about how to start sales conversation with known people such as friends(close or far) through chat since most of the millenials prefer to chat on multiple platforms and are not thrown away with sudden calls. Great video! I currently received an offer for a position in High End Appliances, and it is commission only after a year of base pay. I currently work in Technical Support. This would be a crazy shift in focus. Do you recommend staying away from commission only?

That knife selling Job was CutCo. I walked out of the interview as soon as the manager pulled out the knifes. They never tell you what you are selling until you get there

I worked for cutco and it was hell. My manager was pushy and told me to lie to people and I just couldn't do that. Worked there for a few months but had to get out
Why do successful people in Sales LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to help other people get into & be successful in Sales? It’s the strangest industry I’ve ever studied. 💕 Human Services, Marketing, Healthcare, I.T. Non Profits, sectors don’t give a care if you get into their industry or not. What’s up with this mindset? I have an idea but I’d like to hear your 💭 thoughts.

I have a doubt which technical level is required to be good working in IT sales ? For instance if you do not know programming is possible working in IT sales ? Thanks and congratulations for your videos!
Yeah, you don't have to know how to program to work in tech sales. You will have to have a fundamental understanding of how tech works, but it's not necessary to actually be able how to code. Plenty of sales reps selling into Fortune 500 companies don't know how to code. But they're good at understanding and explaining how things work from a high level.

Just started working trainee sales development rep and so far I'm learning but there is a lot of info to take in and understand in a short amount of time which sometime can make you feel a little discouraging to continue with the process but hey it's my first job and I am sure going to give it my best shot 🙂

What would you say/recommend about taking my first sales job in a 100% commission based role? 😟
Honestly I wouldn't. Because as a first job, going 100% commission is kinda hard because all your income is purely on yourself
Can you negotiate your base pay at an entry level position? Because if I start at a lower base pay, every promotion/salary increase is going to be based on my current salary
Yeah it's possible, but you need to come prepared with an explanation on why you deserve a higher salary

It sucks cuz they asked a bunch of broke people/college students who don't know anyone who can even afford to buy their butter knife, and insisted to only go through people we knew. 😭
Agree Patrick, i think it the low barriers to entry leads to lots of "bad" sales peoples. The ones that commit to development will end up on top of their niche.
I'm studying sales but I don't know if I should continue because I feel there isn't a real purpose in that job beside making money. I mean you have to do everything to sale your product even If that mean being dishonest or kind of hypocrite because you have to act like you care about your client when all you care about is to sale to reach your quotas... Do you think I should change my career?
If you focus on finding the best products/services to sell, then you shouldn't worry about ethics. It's not really about switching your career, maybe you just need to switch up what you're selling. Best of luck!

Sales can definitely be automated. There is already evidence of sales jobs getting eliminated due to self service web forms and other artificial intelligence programs for example. If anything, the delivery people will just expand their roles to have a bit of a sales function combined with technology while they pure sales jobs will go awya.
Maybe. I do consumer sales and you need to high pressure close people. Don't see robots being able to pull that off anytime soon
@@Yawarrior You'd be surprised at the state of AI now. In fact an AI robot can evaluate the personality traits of the customer much faster and more accurately apply the correct amount of pressure, facts, examples etc to close the sale than a human can.

What metric do you want to measure someone else’s level of experience in something?
@@kolemarren8211 Most people use TIME as the measure. Go look at any job posting and it will mostly likely indicate the numbers of years of experience that are required. Who does not know this?

Yeah, I’ve seen the job postings that require an unnecessary amount of years of experience for entry level jobs.
This is the age of the internet. Information is at everyone’s finger tips and you can educate yourself quite quickly and easily on basically anything.
Academic education doesn’t hold the same value as real life experience either… but, I’m not going to get into that.
