God, I hate people that say you can't criticise a game that's in early access. That's literally what early access is for, so you can criticise stuff that needs to be fixed before release.

Yeah, nah. I mean, you are partially right. Early access is for improvement. It's easier to fix bugs if you have thousands of people finding them. You shouldn't criticize them by screaming all over the internet with "revives" that say the game is shit, because it's ugly looking, has a lot of bugs, bad physics and so on. Criticize as for letting devs know about the problems, yes. Criticize as for bashing them in revives. No. Tbh, I don't think there is something like "reporting bugs" in definition of word "criticize"

Craig the Brute yep first played the game 3 months ago ik not a vet here but started it on console and after a week had headaches from the graphics and lag and just randomly being kicked off the game and back to dashboard. tried on pc and not really that much of an improvement. game would be a lot of fun if the graphics and lag was not a thing as much as it is in the game.
If you play the game on console, then I have found why you think the game is a dumpster fire. If you don’t play on console. Then I can agree that the battle royal is bad, but not the actual game

I feel that. I'm naturally bad at video games (unironnically) and Fortnite was fun at first (casual player as f). Then, you needed to play the game every damn day to just be able to have fun ; building mechanics were already hard for me (no reflexes) and when you needed to be able to build, fight and every thing at the same time, I couldn't keep up.

Started playing Fortnite when It started. I really really enjoyed it and nothing brought up more joy or anger than Fortnite. I got into competetive I was extremely good but then Chapter 2 started. I played it for a month and just quit because it didnt make fun like it did before. Lets see what Season 2 brings.

I mean, technically speaking Fortnite: Save the World (The main game) was in development since 2011, but Fortnite: Battle Royale was only in development for two months before it's release. Epic just saw the popularity of PUBG and had there dev team use the engine and mechanics of the main game (namely building) as a basis for the BR mode. That still doesn't make it a bad game just because it wouldn't exist had all the core development and mechanics not been a part of a different game. A good game by happenstance is still a good game.

Fortnite's game design is actually really unique in the sense that the building and shooting split each other in half and require you to use both to outplay your opponent.
However, Reddit can't wrap their heads around that there's *100 players* in a single battle royale game, so they end up saying "Fortnite bad" when in reality they only had about a 1% chance of winning.

But I remember playing this game trying to hear the sound of footsteps that everyone I played with could apparently always hear, only to have every other shot i fired be way too fucking loud. Why aren't foot steps just a god damn option as an audio slider, literally no battle royale has ever fucking done them right. YES, and the pre game lobbies where every idiot would just pick up a gun and start shooting everywhere, have to always mute the game audio.
This isn't exactly what you ordered but there's an option to "normalize" your computer audio to make quiet sounds louder while keeping loud sounds the same

I’ll always support Fortnite because of:
A) taking time to make a solid foundation for their game with lots of depth
B) good business models and never obviously pushing for money
Also you can say consistent updates, but honestly those two shine through the most, especially in this day and age of rushed AAA live service sh*t shows that do nothing but spam macro transactions to milk every single player dry. GG gamers.
Also things like support a creator and giving out millions upon millions of dollars in competitions.
The games depth comes from it's development starting in 2011, however it's kind of a cheat to say that this is the case. They had no plans for a battle royal till somewhere after 2016. What they were working on was the base game, zombie defence mode, which was actually quite endearing itself. They just reused assets when they made the battle royal, so it wasn't high effort. It is now, of course.
They're business model isn't really good. Literally EVERYTHING is timed so if you miss something in the shop who knows when it'll come back(or if it even will).

In Season 3 and 4 it was at it's best. Good Gameplay, and there were no sweats. I took a break after the Season where Thanos came back, and now I am not competitive anymore. (Not that I was before lol) But seeing little kids doing 90's and editing faster than I can see, I was like, nope, I'am not coming back. So I deleted it, probably forever. I was a good game, which made a lot of fun, especially with the boys in squads, but now it's just by far to sweaty.
