Sold both my mk1. Worst thing I ever done gutted now. Can see the joy you feel in that
Sold my mk3 ....wounded
Iv considered selling all my cars so many times and my current lifestyle means I’m always very close to bankruptcy! 😀
Wicked! Thanks for the vid Marcus. 👍😎
You and Cat get well soon mate, I had that lurgy too, the's loads of it about!! 🤧 New dash looks cool 👍
Thanks mate! 👍 We’ll beat the bug soon enough! 💪
Marcus another way to clean out threads in a limited space is get a bolt the right length and cut it all the way down the centre with a hacksaw blade. As you wind it in that should help collect up any crap from the threads.
This is awesome, i liked the way you explain your modifications for Esther. It was sound like rap, almoust music sync it😂
Enjoyed that video Marcus, loving the old tune as well 👌
Excellent mate, get well soon and best wishes to Cat. 👍
Awesome buddy
👍
very interesting how the bike carbs sound different to the throttle bodies on each of your ST170 lumps
Yes 2 very different sounds mate. Maude is louder and more obnoxious, and Esther’s sound is more refined but still aggressive. 👍
Getting there slowly mate keep going mate your will get there 💯💯💯👍
Ayy up Marcus hope you and cat get well soon, and make it to the summit run great vlog
We’ll be there one way or another mate! 👍
Excellent video Marcus best to check that you or Cat have not caught the Covid must testing is free there is no cure but isolating can assure that It is not past on. Nice to see a few things falling into place for you. Cheers
Thanks mate! 👍 . . . . To be honest I personally don’t get involved in all that political stuff. #itsascam
Love your Mk1
Wish I had kept hold of mine 🤦♂️
I planned to sell mine sooooo many times over the years (before and after she was built) and Im so grateful I never did. 👍
@marcushayesford definitely don't mate. Keep hold of her. 👍
Nice one once again Marcus
Thanks Wayne! 👍
Before you fit the new cts, see if you can add some clearance on the bulkhead, jack handle and a hammer, lol, although might be tough with it being on a seam
Defo gonna try to add some clearance mate. Where it is needed is right where the rectangle hole is where the fuse box was mounted before. I have glued a piece of aluminium over the hole but I reckon I’ll remove it and then see if I can borrow a slide hammer and pull the area from the inside?? 🤔
Hi there Marcus, hope your feeling better soon regards Richard
Had a really bad cough today mate but I reckon I'll be better 2morrow. 👍
👍 get well soon
Thanks mate! 👍
Cool video M8 sniffling doesn't sound good hope you and cat feel better soon .....just a thought with the restricted room around your temp sensor had a thought what about sorucing a male female ext lead plug for it if there is one ....
Thanks for watching mate! 👍 I do actually have an extension on that sensor. I had to make it up myself because the loom wasn't quite as long as I wanted. I think when I get the new sensor I will plug the extension in, then fit the sensor to the water rail, and then join the extension back up to the rest of the loom. 👍
Only if you done an astra digi-dash install on ester, always wanted to do it on a car
That would be cool on an 80s car I reckon. 👍
wow how brilliant
👍
Just getting over a cold myself 🤧
Hope you feel better soon mate. 👍
Are you going ohsoretro again this year?
Not sure mate. Hopefully but it will prob be a last minute decision. 👍
If you are considering changing the oil pressure gauge I'd personally go for the autometer gauges that real steal sell in Uxbridge I have them on my 69 mach1 mustang there awsome but not cheap
Marcus did you have the flywheel resurfaced ? That would give you extra clearence
I did actually mate. Maybe that’s why I now have the clearance?? 🤔
When are you you for doing the shims so you the engine running more power
Defo need to get round to checking the clearances. 👍
Could you add an extension wire bringing plug to the plug so your not so close to the bulkhead and saves destroying the sensor

Hi Marcus, I was wondering how the ULEZ expansion to the outer London Boroughs is going to affect you as I understand that for historic cars to be compliant, they have to be pre-January 1973? The Tfl website is still showing that they have to be over 40 years, but this is now questionable. Also, as a classic car owner myself, I just hope that it will not put people of showing their cars at future events.
If your car is registered for historic tax it is ULEZ exempt mate. 👍
@@marcushayesford I have a 1974 mk1 escort and it is classed as Historic on the V5 but according to Ulez today, it is non-compliant. Last week it was showing as compliant?
Marcus, your Mk1 is showing as non-compliant.
It clearly states on the government website that all cars registered for historic tax class are exempt mate! 👍 tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone/discounts-and-exemptions (scroll down to the ‘Historic Vehicles’ section) I think some of the ‘checker’ sites are only designed to show if your modern car is exempt due to emissions etc. 👍
Hi Pj, have you watched that video about the Ace café future meetings? It’s a pain in the ar*e
Done a removal years ago for a woman and at the end she asked me if she paid extra would I take away a few things from the garage, when she opened the garage there was a full snap-no tool box on wheels, she then said her Ex was a mechanic with BMW, just as she was going on about paying extra for us to take the garage items away ''including the snap-on set'' her Ex showed up with a van, he just gave us a look as in ................Not today lads but nice try lol.
Thot I had hit the jackpot and a good pal said it was easily worth 3k or more, I Personally still think she knew they were valuable and asking us to take the set away was a bit of revenge, she did mention during the removal he was never out the garage and it was a bitter divorce.
AnyWHO Thanks again fella and hope you and the Mrs are back match fit.
Cheers!
I was keeping my fingers crossed for some Snap-On tools but the ones I got are literally at the very other end of the scale. 😃
Yeah , i allready seen a loads a people with coughs colds n sneezes in July !? .... ...🤔
