Lol I feel personally attacked... In all seriousness, I was a music major that knew I didn't want to be a band teacher going into it. I did go into private instruction, however, and that has been the best move I could have made with all the corona stuff going on. All my friends who perform and play are seriously hurting and getting into jobs/careers completely unrelated to music, while I was able to smoothly transition to online private instruction and maintain my clientele and stable income. It's tough to build it up at first, but if you are good at what you do then you will have a honest living with a paycheck you can count on.
There is so much talented musicianship in this strange package. Polyrhythms, strange time signatures, a definitive image, etc. I could go on. And they do what they do very well, every song is an absolute banger

The lyrics really call to me, haunting, suggestive, a plethora of emotionally charged expressive anger with no recourse but to expose itself to my inner being.
There's only one other band that was a strange mix of genres that I can think of at the moment and they were fucking brilliant, has anyone ever heard the band SCRAWL? A mix of grindcore, ska and a bit of lounge music. I used to have a copy of their only album that I know of that had every song they ever wrote at that time, most songs were short by normal standards and there were a lot of tracks but the sound was so unique and awesome to anyone that can appreciate a grindcore band with such a weird combo. I recommend searching them out if you can find them. A deep dive in music for sure.

I was immediately filled with energy and a lust for life, the genius of each note fed into my soul like a supernova of revelation. Each note felt more real and meaningful than a knife to the heart, or a whisper of I love you from your preferred lover. This song saved my life. Then it ended, and now I hate you and everything, to give meaning and strip it away, to dangle purpose before a idiot fool, this is perfect evil. 1 step away from perfect existence is madness, that is where this song lands you. Heaven for 1:17, then bland reality takes over again. Hit the replay it's just not the same, apparently one can only hear the voice of God once, afterward the piece of the brain responsible for translating God Sound to electric signals in the brain is overwhelmed and damaged from the experience. All you are left with is knowing it's there but never able to experience it in it's fullness again. Evil trickery they beset on the world. For that I damn thee.
