"I don't want to win, I want more Jodah value" is about the most Seth line ever.
"discard a land"
---> discards a farewell
we love you seth
It was a little sad seeing him discard the prefect card to fix his situation while talking about how much him opponent lucked out of his misplay. Turns out the luck was seth also misplaying.
@@colbyhoman7602 Yeah it's quite frustrating, I stopped watching at that point.
@@rmanzero relax, it's not that serious
@@Alex-sy7ee It isn't, and neither is him turning off the video. I did the same. Seth isn't a bad player or anything, it's just frustrating watching someone punt like that due to tilt. It's like a cringe reaction. I just want to nope off of the video.
Personally, i think its hilarious. Id watch the pro tour if i wanted perfect play. Yall are the cringe. @JamesELLYale
I loved the little interaction of Katilda staying alive after the chump because she has prot from Werewolves
Sweet deck but I think you might have forgotten standards new all star planeswalker, Karn Living Legacy🤔
It's too strong and removes the fun
Plz Seth. Why u forget powerhouse?
Seth Urza is not putting together a gigantic being (assembling the titan), Urza is gathering a group of powerful planeswalkers (assembling the Titans).
To be fair making a giant titan out of all of his friends is also very much an urza thing to do
@@erysecret you’re not wrong. Hahahah
Also he did make giant mechs for all of them if I'm not mistaken
@@jamalsachleben3026 he did indeed. Each one was kinda tailored to their respective planeswalker.
@@jamalsachleben3026 yeah like Optimus prime
Game 3: "I know we're a Jodah deck, but I don't think we can keep a three Jodah draw."
Game 5: "We came here to play Jodahs. I don't think we mulligan the triple Jodah hand."
Big ouch discarding Farewell instead of a land, unless you couldn't cast it, lol. But damn, that would've brought you right back.
This is what I come on this app for. Everyone was talking about legendary creatures but I was excited for super friends. Love this
I've been playing Jodah super friends in historic brawl, it's so much fun!
The Ajani win versus Jeskai was glorious. They were furiously trying to find their Light up the Night.
Love the content Seth. Thanks for making magic fun to watch.
Haven’t seen anyone take this approach yet. Very cool build. I am currently brewing a version for my channel that uses The Cruelty of Gix to put Jodah back on to the field with all of our mana available to immediately cascade. Should be cool!
Game 1 lethal was missed right? Elspeth adds two counters twice, (flying, +1/+1's and whatever), which is 6 power on The Wandering Emperor with Luxior. Then the Wandering Emperor adds two +1/+1 and two loyalty counters for another 6 power and swings in for 16 flying?
I point this out not because I want to point out a punt... but rather because this is INSANE how much power you can add with this setup and Luxior
It’s Seth. He’s going to miss many things.
That's a sick play sequence/turn! Nice job spotting it I completely missed it
Love the content Seth, thanks for making magic fun to watch
@54:51 Discards the Farewell (answers Tenacious Underdog) to play the Jodah (dies to Liliana immediately).
All while complaining about the opponent punting.
Farewell is sorcery speed, so there’s really no window for it to answer the underdog as it’s already blitzed.
I think there’s an argument for keeping farewell, but playing Joda to force the -2 is probably correct in that scenario. He basically lost as soon as that lucky loot happened though so the decision didn’t matter too much.
I could be missing something tho, I just got back into 1v1 formats so I’m relearning
@@georgemcgee2437 farewell exiles the graveyard and thus the Underdog
The bigger picture is that the punt wasn't a rewarded punt, it was a punt that didn't matter. If the opponent held the land, +1 for a loot, they would have the underdog to discard, play the land, and blitz.
a very unique deck, A stupid number of rares, and a winning record. Welcome to AtO: planeswalker tribal!
At 49:03 , you activated Lily, saying you did not wanna throw away Jodah. You had a clue and 4 mana. You could have cracked it, left up negate, and kept Jodah. Great vid!
55:30
“Play bad, win anyway”
t. a Jim Davis enthusiast
Love the content Seth. Thanks for making magic fun to watch. ;)
This was super fun! Thanks for the vid!
I absolutely love this archetype!!
Love the content Seth. Fun for making magic thanks.
Regarding that match 4 opponent I believe the saying goes "Play bad, win anyway."
Just got my playmat in the mail, it is soooo beautiful! So looking forward to showing it off at the LGS this Friday.
@54:50 in the video, he calls a Farewell a land and discards it off Kaido xD
This exact deck is why I was so excited to be coming back to dominaria!
Hell yeah, can't wait to see the Jodfather himself in action!
This is what I’ve been waiting for!!! Thanks, Seth!!
Also, wanted to see more tap with Teferi so you can exile with WandEmporer… G1 against Jetmir, could have just removed it.
Hey Seth I recently got the goldfish mat in the mail, it looks amazing! Brought it to my lgs yesterday for draft and it got everyone’s attention, it’s now my primary mat just I’ll need to get a new storage tube as it’s such a thick mat that it barely fits in my mat tube lol
What a load of jank!!! I love it
Now I'm picturing Seth getting an altered Jodah card to look like the character from Bojack Horseman...Lol
*Thanks for the Content* !
For this deck, I’d honestly cut the channel lands, since you run leyline binding, just having a basic there contributing the land type might actually be better, or pain lands for better mana
That's a lot of value thrown away because those channel lands cost like 1 mana to use
@@rubeshere that’s fair, hadn’t thought about the mana reduction, I’d still lower the number in favor of better mana, as that was the biggest issue
I am honestly surprised there are no mirror box shenanigans in the deck! Love the content!
Game 1, I think opponent scoops right away but I think the correct play was tapping down the jetmir asap and exiling it with emperor
Wow that double Ajani ultimate game was the dream
From no rares a few days ago to all the rares today! Jokes aside though, this is a super sweet brew! Great vid as always Seth 😁👍
I'd wanna see someone build Jodah Bard Class on Explorer/Historic.
Maybe it's a bit redundant, but I don't know, I feel like a Gruul focused legends deck splashing Esper, allowing you to play legends in other colors as well while still taking advantage of bard class, would be very cool.
If you want to avoid bad cascades, like the one at 33:20, you should cast the low cmc spells before the high cmc ones.
would love to see a modern take on this deck
The article on the website doesn’t have the choices for next week’s deck.
You should revisit this deck in historic so you have better mana. Deck was sweet!
@54:00 "Better lucky than good" is the term you're looking for
The moment I seen jodah I instantly started rebuilding my atraxa superfriends edh. It still has atraxa in the 99 but jodah is just a good card.
Hmm, meathook massacre seems great with Joda as it itself is a legendary permanent, that let's you cast it for a modular ammount
It's kinda a nonbo actually, spinning into it means x is 0 so instead of something useful you just get the passive off meathook. Makes spinning into your plainswalkers less likely.
@@shanewilliams4614 yeah, I'd sideboard it in. Seeing the sheer number of dead spins seth got these games makes me think spinning into a meathook where x is 0 isn't the worst thing in the world
Can you do zur in historic brawl?
Seth wanting to bm the poor opponent. "Im having so much fun playing with my walkers"
39:34 I see Seth has given up on naming his decks in arena
I'm sure your opponent in Match 4 was an anime protagonist with a play like that.
Mirror box doesn't have a place in this deck?
As soon as that cart was spoiled I knew I wanted to do super Friends I have like a 85% historic brawl win rate with the super Friends deck I built around him
GG opponents actually were pretty cool for letting you go off. MTGO people are cool about it. More of a fun time. Feels like on arena people quit before the game even really starts. Be like turn 3 went ok and opponent misses a land drop. I won’t have a play until turn 5 nothing on board and they will concede …. Drives me nuts lol. Only thing worse is the opponent whose beat but goes AFK until the last moment and passes thru. The. Holds priority until last moment and keeps doing it so a 3 turn guarantee win turns into a 10 min wait because they are petty af
Got 3 Jodahs on arena, haven't built yet cos cascade mechanic shouldn't really still being printed tbh.
Jodah the Walletslayer
Team Titans GO!
I've tested jodah as a creature based commander, and mi playgroup is asking for the ban hammer.
Sad to not see mirror box in this :(
It seems like we need a few more black sources.
Play poorly, payoffs persist!
btw what happened to the deck list that's normally overlaid on the video? Is it not there on purpose?
Also: Cascading Superfriends in Standard? WHAT THE SHENANIGANS!? Love it! :D
Just a LITTLE upset that you didn't put the new Lotus in
We need an elderspell like card in standard now. Hope it's in the next set. Too much mana flexibility, too much pw stuffs now.
The problem is that you don't have any exile spells for 2 mana at the moment and you can't get any proper multi-colored lands.
Ah, is mirror box not Standard anymore? Would be useful.
It is standard legal
For as much of a punt as it was, the end result of it is the exact same. It's not so much a rewarded punt as it was a topdeck.
Eye-gan-jo
This one kills me
TBH the actual Japanese pronunciation is a weird construction for English speakers. The e and I don't blend together as they do in English. Maybe it's more ay-eye-gan-jo
Regardless, I love Seth but his unique pronunciations of the Kamigawa lands are something else
You forgot to put in Karn
This isnt super friends it is ultra friends
Still no modern :(
just run 61 cards
Jodah in historic brawl has been annoying. They basically play Jodah and win. He needs an extra (3)
14:50 & 57:52: You know you don't need to lose life to Sorin, right? It says you "may reveal it". At 57:52 you chose to die rather than not draw the card...
Jodah in historic brawl is so boring, every deck is identical and paradox engine is still legal there for some reason
i don't trust 5 color
Pretty easy with all the land options in standard right now
abnoxious money pile
The way you pronounce "gala" just irks me a bit every time.
It's pronounced "gay-la"
I know it's not a big deal but I just need to post this for some small bit of catharsis from the matter. Feel free to ignore now.
