Big thanks to the multiplayer community for still coming together to play on such a high level and letting us spectate, it really makes my day so much better.
43:36 In WoW, there is a book written by an orc called "Peeling the Onion." It is a long analogy for how cracking dwarven fortifications in Alterac Valley is like peeling an onion; getting through the first bunkers is like the dry skin, and the sweet core is like assassinating their leader.
I love that bit of WoW lore and it's an apt analogy here. But I can't help but feel that Dwarfs in WH are more like cracking an egg to get to that thin second membrane and the value it holds. This is w/out seeing the particular bit that inspired this so I'm reserving a spot to change my mind, cause I think the new slayers stuff will throw a wrench in my analogy.
Great job casting Turin and great games players. I think it would be good if CA made it so that it was more obvious when a point isn’t fully capped so it’s easier for players to tell at a glance. The little bit of green is really hard to see.
Bretonnia sending the unwashed peasents and calling the knights afterwards once the frontline is engaged is lore accurate and a good domination strategy. Still I wonder if it would be a good idea to give non knight units a -8 leadership penalty if all the knights are routing or off the battlefield. After all the peasants would obviously flee immediately as soon the knights are gone according to the lore.
Giants are not unbreakable in Total war because they have never been until TOW, and the game is based in 8th edition. There is no point in comparing them.
What changed with this tournament that the delay between games was almost non existent? Replays? Love it. Feel that’s one of the biggest downsides to tw multiplayer sometimes as much as turin makes it work so well regardless. Great Stream Turin
I think Turin has done one or two tournaments where the audience picks the coolest/fluffiest army and that player wins a prize too. Something like that might really encourage players to calm down a bit with the hardcore builds.
It'S CA's fault in their balance patches they almost always just nerf the most overused units when it's the rest of the roster that needs buffs alot of the time. can't blame people for trying to win.
I agree that you can't blame people for trying to win if there is actual prize money up for grabs. But in casual tournaments, I wish the more seasoned players would consider that in the long run, using more interesting builds = more interesting games = more viewers = more prize money.
That empire vs druchi match is definitely a match of the year contender. Well played to Housecat of war and Hitman hippo. Truly epic match. And I have to agree with you Turin, the appearance of the landslip coming out the woods was an incredible moment. That was like the climax to an epic movie
@@Weberkooks Yeah, I agree. without even knowing a ton about the pvp scene I can see how it dominates some match-ups pretty hard. I think when it's inevitably nerfed though it should have more tactical aspects added to it to compensate.
It feels good to watch a high-level tournament for Total War Warhammer 3 again. I came to the channel for Total War Warhammer, stayed for AOE4 and Spice Wars, but this feels good. Glad the game is in a better place now.
Watching that empire vs gs game was rough, definitely have to go heavy on the cav if you're gonna go wide empire and never give a good waaagh (Pistolier + grenadiers + Knights) although new multi shot might be worth it), if you wanna stand and fight, flags to eat the waaagh charge (fearless) then counter charge with Greatswords and death magic (aspect of the dread knight is slept on in this match up, adds magical attacks (gets through the savage orc Phys resis), leadership, causes fear + terror, chuck that bad boy on the land ship for 4 WoM or empire knights) and spirit leech for GS lord sniping if you have the money soulblight during a waaagh and fighting in a taller formation, definitely a tech for the GS but any empire players still struggling vs that match up try those its not an easy match up but empire always had the tools with the new toys i agree with turin i think empire will become a top 3 faction once everyone figures out the nitty gritty tech switches for every MU
Is there any chance of increasing the bitrate of future streams? As the video becomes very blurry as soon as the camera moves. Otherwise awesome stream!
I don't particularly like Total War. Had the first two Medievals back in the day, and the first Warhammer. Not my thing. But I watched this in its entirety. Fantastic presentation and a fascinating watch. Well done, everyone involved!
Turin is it possible to extend the duration of the video so we can't tell who wins.Towards the end you can tell who will win and takes a bit of the excitement off. Does anybody else feel the same way?
Love this tournament format, especially with the replays. At least this way we (the audience) don't have to suffer through the patented Total War slideshow 😅
Changeling should be able to take 2 different lords to change into, at the cost of the most expensive one. That way he gives you flexibility at a cost. If the enemy takes a wide cheap army you could switch from Saytang to something else, or when saytang has nothing to be effective against anymore later into the fight.
Hey Turin, where are you going to get your Chawi minis from? Also, it's so good to see the Dawi and Empire doin' well with the new patch. The balance changes have really livened things up.
I'm a huge Empire enjoyer, but I gotta say that match between Empire and Delfs was sad in how it turned out. HouseCat didn't blunder once, he blundered twice. He failed to fully capture the 3rd objective, and once he realized, he made another mistake bee-lining his infantry towards it. He could at that stage have won on two points and did not need to triple cap the empire. Should have played defensively on the first and second objective. Though I say 'blundered' I feel like the UI is more to blame than anything else instead of the player. CA should implement better visual cues of who controls what points and how much time you have remaining.
HouseCatOfWar failed to cap at 1:40:05 4m43s into the game and held the point till the end of the game. HitmanHippo got around 750 points from that point over the course of the game and around 400 points in the time between the failed cap and HouseCat moving to take the point at the 11 minute mark
I hate how many games are thrown simply because the UI isn’t clear enough to differentiate between an owned point and an “almost” owned point at a glance
bro whos the empire and whos the darkguard whats even going on this guy doin a good job casting tho kept me engaged in all of this, despite the lack of knowledge on my part
I thought they did away with that mechanic after not seeing it for ages 😭 Gelt surely isn’t the cheapest lord though. Does he provide a buff or anything?
Are there any other tournaments that are NOT played in domination mode? Every time I see a new tournament on the Turin's channel I get excited and then I'm completely disappointed that it's domination. I appreciate your work Turin, but for me personally this mode is just boring.
That second to last game, Dont you dare feel bad for the greenskins, they have been a tyrant on multiplayer for a long time, they deserve to fear the landship.

And here i thought ogres were like onions...
Watching this stream is worth it just to hear Turin say "the doomseekers charge in, the runes on their bodies glowing with erect excitement!"
That landship charging in to save the day with the big steam boost was so funny
Great job casting Turin and great games players.

You should have to decap them to neutral before capping them, like sacred sites in AOE4
Absolutely, it should be very clear when a point belongs to a player.
Bretonnia sending the unwashed peasents and calling the knights afterwards once the frontline is engaged is lore accurate and a good domination strategy.

Fun fact Turin they fixed the Dreadquakes fire at will bug
damn I kinda liked it the way it was lol
Loved the half time show. Fantastic. Also super creative idea w Saytang. Props to CA for their part
There HAS to be a replay dedicated to Lord ChickenFeed Dawi comeback against Kislev g2, that was such a good game!
Awesome commentary as always, no wonder CA gets you to do their official tournaments!
Three things make the Empire great: faith, steel chairs, and gunpowder
Thanks for this top tier cast Turin, special mention to the 3V3 thematic game, loved it!
@Turin... England calling here 😊 Mither is pronounced 'Myther'. It means to bug/pester/moan at somebody incessantly ❤
Amazing tournament, spot on hosting, great showcase of many new elements and new metas, thanks Turin!

I just realized...
the landship has an anchor.
A useless anchor.🤣
for dropping on orcs
parking brake....obviously.

when your landship has an engine failure and it starts to accelerate out of control, you will be glad to have an anchor.
@@detorrV2 also....towing. an anchor is a very sensible option on your landbattleship. worth the extra dubloons.

Replays, yeah. Normally it's live. I much prefer live, but it does take forever between matches, unless you pre-arrange
It's extremely disappointing to see what Greenskins have been reduced to in the meta, given the variety of cool units in their roster
Seeing the same build with greenskins every game becomes a bit boring.
From Wurzag all the time to wide with goblin shamans.
Such a shame, you 99% know what someone is going to take at GS.

Hitman Hippo brought really cool builds. Super entertaining!
missed the showcase live, those are so fun, i know they are really hard to make so its appreciated when we can get em.

And I have to agree with you Turin, the appearance of the landslip coming out the woods was an incredible moment. That was like the climax to an epic movie
The 4th quarter Huey drop of Gelt on the outskirts of the woods to the tunes of Fortunate Son.
I like the nostalgia you brouth with your comments about Total War: WARHAMMER and Total War: WARHAMMER II
Dang, amazing tourney. Loved to see it going to game 3's so often. Also that was the most glorious burning head I have ever seen.
Great casting as always! Watching replays works fine from a viewer perspective
Some great Chaos Dawi games. One Burning Head in particular brought all glory to Hashut.
I like this format. Nice to see the Imperium fighting for Sigmar, too!
That tiny Tzeentch army vs Empire was like that Piper Perri meme.
Classic opening match with M. Night Goblin Shamanalan.
That half-time show was really fun! Also, that you had it thematic. Great add-in to the tourney!
I'm starting a petition, Empire land ship should have an active ability only usable when it's below 10% total health to detonate at will.
cool idea but it's already OP
@@Weberkooks Yeah, I agree. without even knowing a ton about the pvp scene I can see how it dominates some match-ups pretty hard. I think when it's inevitably nerfed though it should have more tactical aspects added to it to compensate.

Yes!
Dude that 99% capped point sneakily turning the game around was soulcrushing
Goddamn this DLC is looking so good! Wish my computer didn't brick a couple years back, would love to try maining Dawi, Chaos Dwarfs and Empire in MP

Its an option! But probably swordsmen/greats!

great stuff as always
Did they double the amount of gyrocopters in one unit?
Tripled for regular and brimstone gyros ( from 4 up to 12 models) and quadrupled for gyro bombers (1 up to 4)

The way you pronounce Alberic, though. Do you think he's Arabic or something? :D

Thanks!
Feels like STeam Tanks really should be a bit slower, factions without artillery seems to have no realy way of dealing with them
Did players use realism mod?
No!
Rune magic needed rework but it didn't get it
