    You & Scott saved yourselves $1000s by running all the plumbing. We looked into a tankless water heater in our 1898 house. The unit was about $2000, but installation was $4000-5000!

    • @ryanc8188

      I installed a tankless in my 1959 house luckily I had it torn apart and I have a journeyman plumber buddy or I wouldn't have done it. Between having to do the gas line, water supply and sewer it would have been way to expensive to be worth doing.

    • @chrissyfrancis8952
      @chrissyfrancis8952 5 місяців тому

      @@ryanc8188 exactly! We have a full basement, upstairs & full attic. 4 bedrooms & only my hubby & I living here. Our son is in college now. We don’t use that much hot water to make the expense of a tankless heater worth it for us. Our hot water tank needed repairs at the time. It was a simple fix(thankfully) but I had started shopping for a tankless in case we needed a new one.

    Nice to see these plumbing techniques as a austrian plumber the floor heating we use is with more manafolds and per zone we try to only use 120m of pipe so you can adjust every room and we use one pump for all manafolds

    a tip from a someone that solders valves every day.. just use a hot torch and solder it with it open and cool it off as quickly as possible.. never had an issue yet, if you use a wet rag on the valve most likely it won't sweat out the joint fully esp with a small torch like that

    Great job! I Installed a new boiler myself in my home five years ago. It was a pretty big job because I had to put it 20 feet from where the old one had been due to a new code. It took me only four weeks with all the trips back to get more fittings, LOL. Once you get all the air purged you want to leave the little cap on the top of the separator open. It will let air out automatically. If it should get water too high in that cylindrical chamber the float will close the little valve on top. As more air accumulates again it displaces water so the float drops opening the valve again.

You could use unifi to bridge each location (shop, parents, brothers locations and only pay for one Internet subscription) to have the the same network accessible on wifi, outside access points ?

Constant and even water pressure all the time even with multiple fixtures/appliances running. I love it for my family. You can shower, run the washing machine, and still run a sink with no water pressure drop. I also have a water line ran to my garage which is almost 300 feet from the house and have amazing pressure.

    Awesome to see your partnership again. People don't realize how many different skills you have/need/develop on the farm. I am curious about your pressure tank on the in-floor system though. I would have thought it would need to be at the top of the system instead of at the floor. Won't it just fill up with fluid and lose the function? Liquid won't compress, so there wouldn't be any pressure retained there.

All those unseen water lines like dish washer,clothes washer, refrigerator and not least the hot water heater. I have two of these “Moen”(mfg) at different locations these are kind of expensive @$500.00 plus installation that will shut the water off to the house if needed.
