its ugly, I might pay 30k for this but no more
The price has not been slashed. USA lost the fullsize Land Cruiser and are instead getting the next gen of the (eastern sold) light-duty midsized Land Cruiser Prado, which has always been sold in the US as the midsized Lexus GX, for multiple generations. Why are UA-camrs telling people Toyota reduced the price? This is priced exactly as it should be.
Because it’s true, what’s your issue anime profile pic?
@@jaysaini955 This is a mid sized SUV with a proper mid sized price. America lost the FULL size Land Cruiser, that had a FULL sized price and are instead getting the next generation of mid sized European Land Cruiser, or eastern LC Prado that is priced properly and not being reduced in price, for America. The full sized LC 300 Series is sold overseas for FULL size price and will share markets with this mid sized LC
The fact you can't grasp that simple fact is not surprising lol
@@lunamaria1048you’re missing the obvious point that this is branded as the Prado in every other market
@@SlaxsvoNot true and you are missing the point, because you do not want to hear it. I have explained it in detail. Toyota canceled the full size Land Cruiser in America. It is never returning. Instead America is getting the cheaper light duty, mid-sized Land Cruiser Prado, just called Land Cruiser, in UK Europe. Toyota has 3 Land Cruiser tiers. Tier 1: is the light duty, Mid-sized LC Prado, which is just called Land Cruiser in UK Europe, for years. Tier 2: Medium duty FULL-sized, 300 Series, which is the tier America lost. Tier 3 is the heavy duty 70 Series sold in Australia, middle East, Africa and Japan. There is NO price cut. You are just getting a cheaper light duty replacement.
Try to remember that Toyota has 3 tiers of Land Cruisers
My father had a corporate career with Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan) for 2 decades.
No Skooter. It should be lower. Out your mind son
Remember the Isuzu Troopers from the 80's? This thing looks just like it
Agreed. I almost forgot about that truck lol
But this looks better in this day of time!
I love my Trooper.
This Toyota is just like it.
Damn bro you got a very strong memory 🙏
Bought a Trooper when they first came out
Many road and camping trips later had no regrets
Great memories with the Land cruisers which dates back to 1958
55k …until dealerships get ahold of them 😢
Wait a year or two until dust settles. Everything new and fresh is gonna be a financial nightmare with dealers. Same thing happened with broncos.
Another great video and introduction to the legendary landcruiser...ya'll are doing amazing and really growing Car Confections to an outstanding channel. Thank you both.
Thanks so much! That's very kind of you to say!
Legendary Land cruiser is gone in all means.
This piece is a joke. Just wait a couple of years and witness Toyota going to trash with its known reliability
this LC is what I have been expecting for long : cloth seats, hard plastics, diff lockers. no moonroof, no wood trims. You don't need to look like a rich guy to go off roading
But you do need $55k+ lol
Not like I can afford this car, but I love your reviews. Very detailed.
We appreciate that! Thank you!
55k and cloth seats is rediculous unless you get a leather option.
The cloth seats in my 2001 Camry are like new, leather ones are slippery and will crack after 22 years.
Toyota is far from the only company that offers those.
@@gertstolk Its not like the shitty 4 cylinder will last 22 years anyway.
@@gertstolkProbably because the leather in the camry is not real, high quality leather.
It’s a throwback to the model that came out in 1958.
Not one dealership will sell truck without $10-$20 K Mark up.
Great video of the all new Toyota Land Cruiser!!! Great job guys!!!
I want the 1958 but want leather seats and a sunroof... I love the lights/grill more on the 1958 version over the Land Cruiser trim. Hopefully they let us add adjustments to the 1958....
Same.
I saw a review that said the headlights are interchangeable.
You guys are my favorite car guys to watch! Think I’ll be trying to decide between the new Land Cruiser and the new 4running in the next couple years.
Thank you! Happy Sunday!
Hopefully the new Land Cruiser's 2400 watt inverter will be able to run for long periods of time! Fingers crossed 🤞 that Toyota allows this. Will be a great fit for campsites!
Too many people fail to start and run the vehicle while using an inverter hard wired to the battery.
I dunno man argh for 55K starting I just want a Bronco or Jeep 3xe. (True they cost slightly more). As a young person I am enamored of the ability to take your roof off and have fun. An off road vehicle imo is for pleasure. Not supposed to be this no compromises luxury completely insulated type of deal. I want to feel the outdoors all over my skin the air, the smells, the mud and dirt. This is MY OPINION. However, this is a amazing competitor to say the Grand Cherokee for a overlanding camping purpose because you know its got hybrid, and its going to be tough as hell and nobody underestimates Toyota quality.
But the Bronco and Jeep are not reliable!
Ok. Then you need a 4runner. They're coming out with a new one as well. Also, I've had 2 Jeeps and 1 toyota. The top less, noisy, hot and cold as all hell gets really old. And if you offroad, nothing is funnier than watching guys get blasted with dust and dirt all day long while in the heat. You think it's fun, it gets old real quick.
This is a Landcruiser. Higher name recognition than either the Bronco or Jeep.
A budget Land Rover with almost all spec's
great car! love the retro stlye.
Nice review thanks 👍
Turbo 4 banger Land Cruiser? Come-On-Man! This is just a new 4-Runner with a Land Cruiser badge. For me I like the Lexus LX 600 for a Toyota made SUV.
More inline with the Prado lineup of landcruisers
@@aidensnacklad4178 Yep - direct Prado replacement here in Australia.
I like it! It’s very awesome that they brought it back!
It's only been gone for two years lol
Best looking Prado so far.👍
I hoped I could afford it 😅 thank use to own a 1994 back then and I love it 😂
Maybe you guys could also put the NHTSA certified crash safety rating in car reviews to enhance them a bit but as usual, great review!
This should’ve just been the new 4Runner
Love it!
Thank you for showing non full option models
You bet!
Great Design
I like Square Head Light
Yeah I like it but the price slash is because we get 40 percent the size of the suv
One day it will look as good as a Land Rover, Getting There.
Looks like there are cup holders for third row.
Only thing I would add to the 1958 is the disconnectable sway bar and skin plates outside of that perfect thing for me
As long as dealers are around this will never be a $50k vehicle.
I have a 2023 prado 2.8 L diesel, bought it brand new last year and I have to say mine looks more better inside than this, even though people complain the previous models are boring. Mine has better softer materials, soft velvety door covers, very similar to my BMW actually, leather seats and its the TX model. It also has all the safety features that this has minus the stupid lane assist which no one who can drive should ever use anyway, its dangerous. I also dislike so much plastic everywhere. Everywhere you look is nothing but black plastic which will quickly fade and scratch if not looked after properly.
Thing is I do like the design it looks nice, but on the other hand it looks cheap, where as the car I have now looks way more expensive looking. Luckily later this month I can get to see it up close and sit in it too. Maybe I may change my mind. When I first saw it I thought wow, great car, but the more I compare it to what I curently own I think I actually prefer the car I have.
And apart from the different design buying it is not really going to offer me any new advantages...as I would choose the same 2.8L diesel engine anyway. Its one of these I am not sure about type of cars. If I didnt already a virtually new prado, then this would be my choice of next car, but as I already have a perfectly good car...its hard to get excited about changing it. We shall see though.
As a proud owner of a 100 and 200 series this looks TURRIBLE!
I think the model you were looking at did have the 3rd row seats folded flat because it had arm rests and cup holders behind the second row seats.
No 3rd row in the us, other world markets have the 3rd row….
Other markets will have the third row but we will not for some reason
Great looking but out on the turbo 4.
This or the current 4runner?
They’re dropping the hot version of these cars at the right time
I own a 2010 FJ. Love 😍 love it...was waiting for new model. Might have to wait a bit longer. Not so impressed. I think I will put a Ford 5.0 in mine. Love my manual 6 speed..no unnecessary b.s... I feel Toy fell short.
Nifty!
Love this car will be my next car
I prefer the large volume and climate control buttons.
Its iam into classic looks so for me its shutup and take my money..coz i cant afford difender or gwagon
Love the rugged plastic, tool.
2024 toyota Land Cruiser 250 ( gazoo racing ) ? GR Sport ?
For 50k it looks to simple and I bet gas mileage would not be great.
The cloth of the seat should be better. Should have a 3rd road seating.
Great review as always.
It’s a hybrid, so the gas mileage should be very good. The Toyota Sienna gets 32 mpg
It’s also not naturally aspirated, which I think stinks for car that sells itself as rugged
Not 50 K more like 60 K out the door
I want an optional bigger engine, 4 cylinder really?
Too bad they don't offer this in smaller size for city dwellers. I love the round headlights.
I like so much about this LC but it's a bad value to start at 70k CAD and to have such a spartan model. Toyota is supposed to be a value brand.
Hopefully we get a 3-door car. That would be sick
Where is the new 4Runner? I think it will be an even more watered down version than this 1958 Prado for 45k
Great review! I thought this LC was the successor to the LC Prado/GX of before since NA technically doesn't get the 300 series nor did they ever get the Prado.
prado was sold as the lexus GX460 109" wb like the 4runner , this moved up to 112" wb
Thank you! You are correct, except that we've never had that model in the U.S. So we compared to the previous 300 series that people here are familiar with
Will there be a manual option for 1958? Just to coincide with the throwback concept.
No
Nice truck.
What is the suspension , independent , live axle ?????
Car companies are absolutely ripping us off. They've almost doubled in price but a pair of running shoes is still exactly the same.
Will Honda refresh passport in 2024 to compete with Land Cruiser ?
no fwd cross over no low range
Honda is not competing with anyone. They have no passion unfortunately. They will just keep making boring car.
55k after dealer markup is more like 65-70k base price especially since they’re making like only 5000 of them…
If you’re buying this for off-roading I’m not sure why you wouldn’t just buy literally any other vehicle at this price range, the only thing that could have separated it from the competition was 3rd row seating. This vehicle also has terrible approach and departure angles and from the looks of it I would be absolutely shocked if you could even get a 37” tire under this without a 4-6” lift where something like a wrangler and a bronco both take them no problem🤣
Here’s a list of some of the vehicles at this price point before you go thinking this this is priced great for what it is:
You could get a Bronco, Wrangler, Gladiator, Canyon, Land Rover Defender, Tacoma, Colorado, Ranger Raptor, 4Runner, Acadia, etc…and those aren’t BASE models either.
Can’t wait to see the markups the yoda community pays to get one of these with the limited run they’re doing😅
Love 💗💗💗
Really impressed by this land cruiser 👌
Perhaps Toyota will continue to upscale the 4Runner. Toyota has been doing this for a few years now. Most well-equipped 4Runners are now in the $55k-$60k range.
I believe the 4Runner will continue to evolve into the old Land Cruiser and the Land Cruiser will continue into the old 4Runner.
Now that that landcruiser is here, I hope the 4runner becomes a real 3 row full sized SUV
Reminds me of an FJ
Toyota : lets market this Parado as Land Cruiser in America they will not notice 🤥🤫 ...... It feels pleasant to see fabric seats coming back
50k
Waiting for GX550 complete review
We should be covering the new GX early next year!
@CarConfections Thanks but too long of a wait... I would like to see you review Premium+ or Luxury
I am buying this car
Slick, still not worth having a car payment. But what is?
isn't it too early. I mean toyota started this ad campaign too early. nice review btw
Needs dope rims
I like the previous version … this version is similar to RAV4
This sales tactic Toyota is using with this Land Cruiser is like how Ford repriced the Thunderbird back in 1977…
How is it back to its "roots" if it now has a hybrid with a turbo? Can you elaborate your heading?
Because this version is a stripped-down off-roader instead of a $90,000 luxury SUV like the previous generation
I'm from a generation where a turbo hybrid was considered swapping a Honda b16a head onto a b18a1 block and adding a T3/T04e turbo 😅
👍💖👍
😍
Ooh, a whopping four cylinder…. 😴😴😴
This is very unfortunate what the North American offered Land Cruiser has now become.
The current 4Runner is significantly better looking and performing than this new model.
im worried about all that plastic on the exterior oxidizing and greying out after some sun exposure. Toyota needs to develop a limited model that doesn't have that "rugged black" plastic exterior and leather seats. Too much plastic for the price
Every european car review channel actually has a third row in their landcruisers tho 😢
it got cut to $50k , is because its a $40K car now lol
It's insane how sold-out all these car reviewers are for hybrids.
This is not going to replace LC300 its replacement of Prado and FJ cruiser
Didn't this event happen like a month-ish ago? I think I've seen other Land Cruiser videos from other car manufacturers at this same event a month ago.
Yes, we also made a First Look video 2 months ago. But we wanted to take a shorter dedicated look at the "base" 1958 too
Ok, thanks for the reply, i do watch your Vids. I appreciate channels that reply to viewer comments. 👍🏻
Reliable? Based on what?
Failing engines in the new tundra?
😂 50k and no power on the drivers seat 😂
You are confused. The car you have reviewed is not a replacement for the 200 series. This is a 250 series. The US does not get the 300 series.
This is the only Land Cruiser we will get in the U.S, therefore it is our replacement
@@CarConfections My point has relevance with regard to the new vehicles lesser price point. US will get the smaller Landcruiser at an understandably lesser price point.
Why can't we get gwagon interiors for the price man
Are you going to be able to make a troopy out of this land cruiser?
They lost me at no 3rd row!
Not a fan of some of these new Toyota/Lexus product interiors. Given the materials quality of this vehicle I would be shocked to find out someone paid $55k.
Those tiny wheels are funny
Not really seeing 58k worth of value here. The reliability argument doesn’t even work as it’s an entirely new powertrain and design.
Why keep saying smaller than previous landcruiser? This is the new land cruiser PRADO, not the new landcruiser LC300, which is the new "Landcruiser".
In America, it's only known as Land Cruiser. We never had two versions
For the money, I buy 23' Rivian R1S EV SUV.
Beautiful in the eyes of the beer holder. 🍺 🤢
half the cylinders means typically twice the rpms needed and thus much shorter engine lifecycle
No, you just have to accelerate half as fast. Invest in a heavy duty rear bumper to repel other cars that can’t slow down in time. All jokes aside, this is a torque rich 4 cylinder turbo. It will actually run at lower rpms than the old V8. This vehicle is smaller and lighter as well.
where is this place you filmed your video?
The Land Cruiser Heritage Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah
This has nothing to do with the Land Cruiser 200 - that comparison must be made with the Land Cruiser 300! This is the new Prado which unfortunately is unknown to the US market…
Calling anything turbo charged and hybrid back to its roots is inaccurate
No thanks. I don't care for the design inside or out. Boring and too much cheap plastic. Looks like it should sell for under $30k.
A hard plastic suv with a $55k price tag, no thank you!
