You’re gonna want the V6 trust me on this! These vehicles aren’t super lightweight.
The v6 in the gx is gonna move it better, last longer, and tow easier.

Can you add roof rails or heated steering wheel to the 1958?
After adding the usual local dealer mark up 5-10K plus yeahhh ( ask me how i know lol ) this Toyota will be almost at the Lexus price point , not saying Lexus dealers will be better tho lol ....for street the Hybrid is ok and will serve the typical driver well but if this is a Off road minded truck in mud snow cold / hot dust environment i would stay away from hybrid for long term usage and modifications ....I wish Toyota offered this LC with the V6 as an simpler true tried option imho.

Oh God what happens to Toyota?? Produced Lexus 600, GX550, TX 350'550, Grand highlander, crown, and now cruiser too??? 95% are so expensive.
why will it be hard to find them? doesn’t Toyota and Lexus want to sell them to people who have the money and want them? Or are all the first runs already bookmarked for people who’ve put down an advanced deposit? I understand the demand will be massive, but are you saying that the numbers produced and for sale will be very low at first?

I would buy GX 460. 245 width tires, 8.0 inches of ground clearance, 4 cylinder turbo hybrid does not match properties of GX
This is supposed to be the LC150 s upgrade, comparing it to the LC200 doesn't make any sense.
You will wait either way…2 years for the Land Cruiser and 4 years for the GX550 here in Canada.
Agreed, its total bullsh!t. Wanted a Grand Highlander Hybrid - good luck with that. Got a Honda Pilot instead. Get your sh!t together Toyota. Tired of all the new car unobtanium - even 'normal' cars can't be had. Total crap.
This is what I expected from the next 4runner. Much too expensive just to get a Landcruiser badge. Makes me worry what Toyota plans to do with the 4runner. How will it fit in the lineup?
4runner will be SUV version of Tacoma, probably built in US and with the same shitty 4 cylinder engine. I don't see how they can make a cheaper version of Land Cruiser and call it 4runner.

The vehicle’s design and price tag seem promising but that lousy 4 cylinder is a disappointment. For that size, this truck needs at least a V6 engine especially for hauling and towing.

This Land Cruiser is the successor to the current Prado. The Prado is quite popular pretty much everywhere besides the U.S and Europe. Even some Countries use the Prado as the official vehicle for top goverment officials.
No one cares about the Prado in North America. Let it rest.
@georgetown8986 Well, if nobody cares, then there would not be any discussion about what kind of land cruiser would be returning to the US (prado or 300 series or something else), let alone excitement when it gets revealed

Am I correct in assuming that this won't be nearly as luxurious or feature rich as a full loaded Grand Highlander? A comfortable ride and all the features that make a lot of road miles nice is what I'm looking for. Any insights? I also think the angle of the windshield means this will be terrible on the highway. I experienced that with the latest FJ Cruiser Toyota made. Fun car, awful to drive.
If those are your priorities then the Grand Highlander will be a much better pick for you

This is the baby Land Cruiser called the Land Cruiser Prado world wide. The “Land Cruiser” 300 series is still made but not for our market

Don’t buy neither one because they are not made like their respective predecessors were built. The V-8 Land Cruiser and GX 460 were very well built in fact so well built they are found all over the world in places where most vehicles would not make it. These new vehicles with all their turbos are not going to stand the test of time like their predecessors will endure.
56k + 1.5k destination + dealer markups + god forbid you add any extra options = 70k+
People will pay for the name. They know that.
For manually adjustable cloth seats with no heated steering wheel, or sunroof and a dinky infotainment display. Definitely too expensive.
I'd pay $42,000 for a fully loaded top range model. These prices are ridiculous. American cars should cost between $18k to $28k trucks $20k to $50k German luxury vehicals $30k to $65k and Japanese cars $15k to $25k suv/trucks $20k to $45k! Those are realistic prices.

For 50k -manual and cloth seats not an option from Toyota… for the 1958 version. Not even leather ventilated or heated seats … 👎🏽. Toyota you can do better for your customers.
