yo this is great a video that actually consulted studies and compared them. Not just some guy's opinion like everyone else. This was so helpful in confirming some things about this type of training.

Thanks man, so glad you found it to be valuable. Yeah, I tried hard to be thorough with all of the research to really dig in on how to best do this type of training. Let us know if you have any other questions or what other topics you would like to see us put videos together for...

Excellent info and studies to support their findings. There is no question that heavy and under load training is effective for increasing bat speed. I actually stumbled upon this back in the 80’s while playing college ball, and while the weighted bat I used was far too heavy(cement bat) using a fungo bat after practice and lifting made a big difference. My strength progress in the weight room helped, and learning to teach and train my body to go faster with the lighter bat (fungo) was the key. Getting strong is important but getting faster in terms of bat speed and velocity is better. Love the part about intent as well - 100% correct! Great job with the video.

Awesome Keith! Thank you for the feedback. We just posted a video today of our coach taking our student through a bat speed training session!

I have my boys do the Ammo Bat regimen. One of the boys I train started at a 32 mph exit velocity with a wood bat. He's now swinging with a 62 mph exit velocity. I find the Ammo bat system works best for the boys I train.

That's great man we will have to check that out. Exit velocity is a wonderful metric to use and we do for our players all the time, but it can be a misleading number for pure training sometimes. Thanks for the comment though Wagon! Can you use a hitting jack it (weight) for the overload bat? I ask because the weight is over the hands instead of end of the bat?

Wonder how long it takes to lose that %10 extra bat speed

An s-ton of front arm swings is the only way to train.
