When working on my swing, I have learned to rest the front foot on balls of the feet. When is want swing drop the heel down, then turn the back leg. I preload with a hip twist and, both feet/legs are in an already open position. The stance is Jeff Bagwell wide opened
Bro, you are so on the money with this. I hate when dudes try and teach thescissor move, makes absolutely no sense to teach that as a primaryHitting move. It’s a result of balance shift after the swing has already happened. So glad to hear you say this. Also, Great post and information with the gas leg and brake leg. Huge Dylan Crews fan.
That’s true I’m 5’9” and I played with the blue jays in the farm, and I did it just like my father who is 6’4” and played with the blue jays pro for 13 years
great ideas. I like the split stance on the tee. I'll try this with the kids. one thing i do own my own to build that core strength is use the spider arm cable machine. set it about waist level and stand enough away from the pulley where you actually have to pull it out. Lock your arms out and twist. Then switch stance. Then I'll change the angles from high to low - I feel the lowering degree setting helps with launch. Essentially, a cable chop from varying degrees but with your arms locked out so you're putting more focus on your core. great for baseball and golf.
Great stuff Thomas! I'm 5'8 160lb but only maxxing out at 81mph with wood off a tee. I am going to try out these tee drills, hope to see some improvements!
Just a thought, with the big front leg stride, and the compensation tactic to "sink" to get "back on time", changes the eyes plane of sight... IMO- keeping eyes on a single level plane increases the contact... If you can sink that back leg and keep eyes on the same plane- thats good- widen stance decrease stride- keeping eyes on plane... how much does a short-non-stride vs. high leg-long stride effect swing velocity? What about contact consistency? How about incorrect timing- fooled- on off speed? I am seeing late in the season pitchers are using outside part of the plate a lot more often than inside half- makes sense- early I the season they are getting jammed and later in the season they are catching up on the inside half. hard to preach an inside out swing early in the season- but as the season goes on, I would definitely switch to an inside out swing- and the pitchers are throwing a lot more breaking/off speed pitches later in the season- unless they throw 95+... just my thoughts! Peace! Enjoyed the video, get some Knee pads for the demonstrator!! LOL!
I played in the Mexican League at 5'10" 190lbs, was a doubles machine with my share of bombs thrown in. Its all about torque from the legs/core getting translated into bat speed.
Dylan crews is listed at 6 feet even, but I think it’s closer to what you said. They have Wyatt Langford at 6, 1” and he doesn’t look a shade over 5’11”. Alex Bergman at 6 feet even lol, what a joke. I think the heights are wrong and they are lying about it for some reason

5’9 ain’t no limitation
If you’re Sammy Sosa 🤣
Or Mookie Betts
Dude, it's less strike zone to cover!

@@georgiebell7064 one of my favorite BlueJays was George Bell his 1987 season was amazing.

Great information for us shorties.
Golden, again!

have you stuck to your word and try these drills out
How have the drills worked for you?
Bro I’m 135 and I hit 81 of the tee
@@omarjimenez1925ooooo look at you
Oh yeah, torque and power, love this stuff.
Great content. Is this applicable to the slow pitch swing?
What weights do you recommend for various hitters?
Ex: 5 ft girl 85 lbs?
5’8 boy 150 lbs?
Great content!! Thanks
lol I am an 150 pound 5'9" 13 (almost 14) year old

Great video!!
Love it man! Thanks!
We do this, but started incorporating the tidal tank instead of a med ball for resistance
I’m ngl bro I don’t feel like size plays much of a roll if your working on explosiveness but hey I’m not saying you’re wrong bro love what u do
5’8 140lbs. Just won a fundraiser home run derby against dads 100lbs heavier and more muscular than me. 🤷
power baby
Do you think the “sink” might affect a hitters eyes.
Great video
4’1 and i’m playing D1 at Rutgers
I like the information the video is providing.
Can you do one for undersize pitchers to create torque
Yes- can you guys do that please?
crews is 6' though???
Feed the trees!
BIG POWER does not know size, awesome content

Love your work!
Do you prescribe med ball rotation in season or just off season?
Dylan Crews and Charlie Welch are listed at 6'-0"
Unless they've been measured at a prospect event, those numbers aren't always accurate
Summers Method is pretty pretty good!
Altuve can curl 100 lbs dumbbells
It's a thing... I'm 5'7 and hit 51 homers in high school and then pitched in college... threw 92-94 back in 2005
Damn, you wuz gas _AND_ bash, homie!
We all know how Altuve does it.
Thomas so this training is specific pattern right?
They create power the same way bigger guys do; strength and technique.
You can't teach "drive your knee down." That is just the end result of what's going on with the pelvis and the rear legged coil.
TGRTG
Dylan Crews is 5'9? I thought he was 6 foot
Yea ion think he's 5'9🤣
Depends if he’s wearing metal or molded cleats lol

Excellent Info...Thanks for sharing....you have a booga in your right nostril.....just looking out bro.
