I've watched numerous videos on this topic, but this one stood out for its clear and practical explanations, making everything easy to understand. Thank you so much!
Javier, you are amazing. There are tons of mocha tracking videos on UA-cam and they are all mind-blowing. Man you are amazing please make videos on every subject.
That was one of the greatest explanations, everything what you've said is really needed to understand the application. I hate when people explain the basics in a way we already know them, but that's not the case with you. Way to go man! You're a very good teacher!
Best Mocha Tutorial on UA-cam.Precise and to the point .No nonsense. Subscribe to you . Thanks a lot. You just saves me lots of money of hiring a Tracking guy
Not sure how you figured out this double precomp thing, but it worked for me. Before I was having issues with the rounding corners when it was inside only 1 precomp, but the double precomp worked it out. Thanks
Sir! Let me tell you that you just owned a new suscriber here! Great explanation. Been having some troubles tracking and replacing green screens until i found your video. Awesome!
finally! worked after 10th try, even a teeny tiny mistake ruin the whole work, had to do perfect to be aligned, I have a question what if the mobile screen is white instead of green? cause I tried to do that and failed countless times.
Great tutorials, you've helped me tremendously. Quick question: Do I not have to create a perfect mask of finger swipes that occur over the screen with the bezier spline tool if I use your method of applying the royal blue pre comp first? I'm trying to understand if your method is a workaround for normally having to tediously track finger swipes. If so, I assume your method would still work and allow fingers to move across a corner pinned screen insert if I created a second screen matte track with a perfect cutout of the iphone screen using the initial screen track I made (and you show in your vid) of the planar surface track? With my screen tracks completed, I'm worried of green screen bleed around the fingers - does your method prevent that? This would save alot of time tracking perfect cutouts finger swipes, just wanted to confirm. Would really appreciate any reply. Thank you for reading and for all your content!
Is it possible to replace the screen if the clip is not greenscreen? If there is already another clip on the screen? I tried everything and when I get to the last part (keylight) where I need to grab the screen color, it won't round the edges of the video I inserted. Thanks
yo when I want to apply export so the blue solid gets tracked it doesn't work :( There's just a red outer stroke of the solid visible which doesn't fit in the phone screen. Help pls
if im using the "replace with after effects composition" feature from premier pro, will that make the solid not work after exporting corner settings? im having an issue where the solid is too big and out of frame. Anybody else having a problem with this?
I'm not sure what I'm doing incorrectly. I followed all the steps and when I'm in AE and try to apply the corner pin (support. motion blur) apply export to the footage I don't see the blue solid background created. I only see the green screen in the phone. I repeated the steps multiple times but it's not working. I am using a stock footage with a watermark. Could this have something to do with it? Help please.
Thanks for the tutorial! I'm having an issue though. My footage has a quick zoom in on the phone screen, and the tracking falls apart. With keyframes and manual adjustments, I was able to fix the X-Spline layers, but the planar surface still drifts away. And when I manually adjust the planar surface after the zoom, if messes up the part where it was tracking correctly, and I can't add separate keyframes to the planar surface to nail down the correct part. How could I fix this?
Unfortunately Mocha doesn’t work that way. You can’t keyframe the planar surface. It took me forever to wrap my head around that so I too spent hours having the same issue as you trying to keyframe the surface to screens only to have other parts of the clip get off. You have to keyframe the spline to the object. It takes a lot of trial and error on some clips, but that’s what I end up doing. If what I put in this video isn’t enough info, Borris Efx has some great tutorials on in-depth tough to keyframe examples on their UA-cam page.
@@JavierMercedes thanks for the reply! Yeah, I did keyframe the spline to the object, but the planar surface is still off when the zoom happens. May it be that I did things in the wrong order? Thing is that I have to do it for a client, so I don’t have endless time to figure it out :)
Actually Mocha Ae not for me.... Coz when I create a layer mask on the phone screen and follow all the steps than hit the track button, it's warned me like that "mocha ae one or more layers prematurely ". If anyone can get solution about the problem then hit the like button plz.
For those looking how to do screen replacement in Premiere Pro I did a video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/SDgzSQJy2a8/v-deo.html
Finally understood Mocha AE
Definitely the BEST Mocha Tutorial on youtube. Thank a ton!!!

And would the eye dropper tool selecting the green screen still work if I used a phone green screen with markers.

Nice work
Am I crazy or do you need to enable motion blur for the screen precomp? Fantastic description of the planar tracker btw.
You are probably right I think I missed that!
Thank you so much!

@@JavierMercedes The solution was Mocha Pro, with it's built-in AdjustTrack module.

Kinda long but straight to the point. Try to explain in 10 mins next time?
Nah, its not long at all. Needs this time to explain properly.
