I checked the GRT model I made for an 80gr in 6 dasher with a 26” barrel. With 33gr of Varget it predicts 3162 and 65k is at 35.6gr and gives 3410. 34.6gr is 3315 and 58k psi. You’re getting a little more speed, but I’m using a different bullet and seating depth and it’s just a model so that’s an acceptable amount of deviation. I’d probably stop pushing at 3350, but be happy if I found a node above 3250. That weight of bullet is actually in Varget’s sweet spot from a case fill perspective more so than the typical heavier target bullets. RL 15.5 is the stable powder that’s best tuned to the dasher’s case for the heavies. Better case fill and velocity, but it’s not winning big matches yet so until someone shows it can hang with Varget at high level competition it will just be a theoretical “pefect powder”. It should let a 6 BRA outrun a dasher with Varget, which would be interesting to see.
Jip i agree. He should be able to push those 80s in the region of 3300fps. With varget and n550 I get my 95vld over 3200fps without issues. I did slow it down to 3110fps with 33.1gr varget
Fantastic! Impressive groups. Those are cooking. I know we have gotten 3200s out of 243s in the past out of 22 barrel. But this is a woodchucks worst nightmare out to 400 for sure. Thank you.
Awesome! Good to see. I've been interested in the ELD-VTs for use in my 6.5 Grendels; my current varmint/lightweight load is a 95gr V-Max but if I can get something that shoots well with a higher BC I'll take it
I've been looking at these for my 6brx for prairie dogs. I don't know if you look at hodgdons' site, they don't have any 80's, but they do show 90's at ~3200. As you can guess too, I'm sure you're good at pressure wise. they look like they will shoot good with a little tweaking.
you're over 300,000 rpm with those, I wonder if they will stay together when the barrel starts to get some good fire cracking in it. I've had problems with other bullets once that happened and they were spinning over 300,000 rpm.
Damn son, those things are flying! Im getting 3145fps out of my 26” dasher with 33.2gr of varget ! Im at sea level tho, so your elevation must be higher…
Couldn't you maybe run a ladder test at like 300m and see where the nodes are and at what speeds pressures start to show. Look at thow the groups are tightening up as you go up in velocity. I would expect the 80s to shoot around 3300fps
@@RobsReloading i understand. I'm very glad you are testing these because I was very curious to know how they shoot. I'm considering shooting them in my dasher instead of the 95vlds I'm currently using. You're results will definitely help

How you liking the impact?

that's fast, man.
Good 👍

@@dawielubbe9443 I could do that but I don’t have a lot of these bullets and I plan to test them in a few cartridges

100yd groups? didn't say in the vid. like to see it at 200yds.
@@mtnshooter2487 how bout 300yds
Rob, Couldn't stand a Honest Comment ?? HUH !!!!!
