I had a great time with this one. As crappy as it is to get these really short stories like "Still Wakes The Deep", I would still rather get these rather than a full price game that is another bloated piece of Corpo crap. The story was good, it looks good, it didn't crash, no open world crap, no microtransactions. Really, I will probably spending more of my money on these types of games in the future. I think that all we can hope for at this point is for ONE studio to say "No" to a buyout and keep making good stuff. Thank again, as always!
Got this for 15 bucks on Xbox store yesterday. The love and care put into this game coulda cost 60 bucks and I woulda paid it. Just an awesome effort from this studio. Happy to have the game on my hard drive
Got it on PSN sale this weekend… kudos to the developers for the ambition- the detective noir is reminiscent of Soul Suspect, and analysis is awesome mode. It’s wonky though… maybe it’s primarily a pc title, but at times frustrating trying to find clues. Good experience all and all!!!
@@thisiskitta I'm a fan of Dontnod and well-made Double A games, not to mention 'clean' cyberpunk settings (not sure what else to call it, but think of things like Mirror's Edge, or the Square Enix Deus Ex games). So my biased opinion would be a definite yes. Nothing groundbreaking as far as combat, but I found it engaging enough, and the memory manipulation is fun. Like most Dontnod games, you're playing more for the interesting setting and ideas rather than any kind of revolutionary gameplay.
Just impulse bought this and wow. The vibe/atmosphere is incredible. Definitely heavy Cyberpunk/Bioshock vibes, with maybe a touch of Max Payne in there for the moody noir style. Just what i needed 🔥
I was expecting some action at least but hey I'm not disappointed!! With an intriguing story, amazing visuals, some good world building, and for only $20 I'm not too disappointed. This was one of the few games I was looking forward to this year and I'm not upset about how it turned out!!
I was just about to bring up Altered Carbon and Jake mentions it haha. Absolutely loved AC, the first season was great, so I'm interested in how this game does with the similar sci-fi concept of immortally through transferring your conscious.
I’m really hoping this can get a full a sequel that turns the concept into a full game. Would love the developers to make a Cyberpunk-esc game where we get to truly explore the world as James Karra. I desperately want to immerse myself into this universe like a nice hot bubble bath.
Jake is usually so good about spoilers in his Before You Buys, but, I feel like he went a little crazy in this one. I've been looking forward to this game for a bit and I gotta say I'm a little bummed I learned about more or the world building in this video than I expected to. Still love Jake and Gameranx though!
I went into the game, not knowing anything about it just seen a trailer. I thought there was gonna be a little bit more action but at the end of the day, I am highly satisfied with the game. I don’t mind if it’s easy because it’s all about the story with this game and that’s what a lot of good games nowadays are lacking, I finished the game like you said I wish there was a little bit more to make it more lengthy and have more playtime. It would’ve been nice if they threw a few action missions or you can use your weapon
This is already really cool. Maybe the next installment will improve on the investigation bits that give players a bit more agency. But this looks like a great start for this company.

Thanks to you, I made up my mind and bought Nobody Wants to Die. Loving it so far. Keep up the great work, and thank you for your pros, cons, and personal opinions!
The concept of immortality in this game and this world is absolutely insane. Blew my mind and despite having completed it a few days ago already, I still think about it. I loved this whole experience :)
I finished streaming the full game to this last night, I absolutely loved it! I gave it a 10 & for me its a GOTY contender.
I was intrigued by this game in general, so had to look up this vid to be sure and out of curiosity. Less than 4 mins in - I'm grabbing this to play it for myself lol. Thanks for the video Gameranx!
Sam Lake likes it and honestly that was enough for me. Didn't know about this game until I saw his tweet. Love detective stories so I'm sold anyway.
Thank again, as always!
definitely was hoping for a lot more! Agreed to the tech demo part, more like devs showcasing what they can do with proper funds in the future.
I gotta say, the art direction and overall vibes are awesome! I really dig the setting and concept of immortality!
Sweet. I was hoping you guys would do this one. I’ve been binge watching Monk for a month, this game is on my wishlist.
THE START OF THE GAME LOOKS SO AMAZING..just a game i never heared about that suddenly was 1 of the best looking games in a long time i tried...
Got this for 15 bucks on Xbox store yesterday. The love and care put into this game coulda cost 60 bucks and I woulda paid it. Just an awesome effort from this studio. Happy to have the game on my hard drive
So awesome, will def buy. Devs like this deserve all the support
Gameranx thank you so much for making this game review!
I thought the guys that created Observer did this one as well. This looks very similar. Love it.
I love detective games. Noir especially. There’s only a handful out there Unfortunely.
A Remember Me reference!? I thought I was the only person in the world who owns and remembers that game...no pun intended.
Should I play it? I got it gifted to me years ago and I just never felt like playing. Always felt a bit meh.
Amazing video Jake from gameranx, fantastic job on before you buy of games, fantastic job.
Thank you! :)
Just impulse bought this and wow. The vibe/atmosphere is incredible. Definitely heavy Cyberpunk/Bioshock vibes, with maybe a touch of Max Payne in there for the moody noir style. Just what i needed 🔥
Loved the game and I enjoyed the story... and the price is perfect!
I feel like this was just a showcase of what the devs are capable of, I expect big things from them!
First few seconds reminded me of both Rapture and Gotham City from The Dark Knight.
I play games like this with my 13YO son. He is really into solving these puzzles like in Deliver Us The Moon. Good times for all!
OMG so I'm not the only one who remembers Remember me game from Capcom! I personally like this game very much at the time (sound track and all)
I went into the game, not knowing anything about it just seen a trailer.
Honestly has a really cool vibe, [blank]punk in certain time periods is so cool to me, a cyberpunk 40s game sounds like a great time
