"Kicking the hornet's nest" in Far Cry 3 is peak badassery. Burning Weed with flamethrower, "Make it bun dem" by Skrillex playing in the background and Jason going batshit insane. It's one of the best moments in gaming tbh.
God of war 3 intro fight 👌🏻 pressing in the thumbsticks to have kratos use his thumbs to gouge into Poseidon’s eyes. Then, use his thumbs to turn his head around on his neck.

It might be Titanfall 3 but it's a multiplayer only game. Titanfall 2 is possibly the best of the single player campaigns that used to be attached to multiplayer games. There's only really COD that still does them unfortunately
Cyberpunk 2077: When you let Johnny take over your body and assault Arasaka Tower, Cello Rebel Path playing and hearing Keanu Reeves say "Let's party like its 2023", while gunning down agents with Johnny's pistol.
my nominations for 10 more badass video game levels is gonna have to be Chronos from the OG God of War, Suicide Mission from ME2, the new and improved Xen in Black Mesa, The Wedding in Sleeping Dogs, and the final mission, Halo, in Halo 3. I still remember these vividly to this day. Oh and the Estate in OG Modern Warfare 2, where the team gets betrayed by Shephard. I mean you can't forget that one, its ICONIC.
All time favorite is the Mass Effect 2 suicide mission, one of the very few missions where almost anyone in your party can die if you make the wrong choices. I was a shaking wreck when playing through blind first time.
Skyrim crossing the mountain to see Whiterun is one of the most memorable moments for me visually (and also Sovngarde). It was a reminder of playing Halo for the first time. Gameplay levels? Idk, man. I've mostly been an RPG fanatic my entire life. I could list dozens. To avoid that I'm just going to give the nod to the original Halo. All the levels. ALL of them. Skyrim and Halo. No debate.
Dishonored 1 is amazing finished it at least 4 times. never finished the other Dishonored Games. i meant to play them though at some point. not sure if they are really as great as the First game.
@@MrCheeselover17Chill out. It’s positive “complaint” and yes it’s in the confusing levels list but still I think it’s the most badass gaming level I played imo
Honestly that was as good level in 2004, same with the Ocean House Hotel, it creeped me out as a teenager and it was a cool level. The character's that give you that quest though, that was as sad story for those two women.
That game was my introduction to the series... To this day, the line: "They don't know I can hear them!" referring to the psychic chatter of those Keeper hunters to this day sticks with me. I was like, "Wait, how _can_ you hear them, Garrett?" 🤣
@ Right! That made me pause when you heard that line. If I remember right it was after the Keeper(?) library was attacked by a hag disguised as a kid you have been working with the whole series to that point. I think it implies that Garret was on the path to becoming one of those hunters. Or it's hidden in some journal entry. Damn now I think I really should try and finish the fourth game.
@shortyipper I found out later that in one of the previous games he was initiated into the Keepers but later left them. That's why he could hear their psychic chatter.
The opening level of Super Metroid is seared into my mind; the way the level tilts and shudders, with the self-destruct timer counting down as you evacuate, is perfect. The way Retro Studios resurrected that opening level in Metroid Prime is awesome also. Modern Warfare 2007 took cues from both Metroids and made its opening level the same way.
I knew nothing about RE 4 or who the hell Mike was but I genuinely teared up after the 30 seconds he was there. I think it was the pain in Leon voice yelling “MIKE!!!” just made me spiral thinking they were best friends and new each other on a personal level. It was some “first 5 minutes of Up” type shit
To me, the RDR2 Mansion Mission just takes the cake - the story setup was brilliant, the march of the gang and the confrontation at the entrance was peak cinema, the soundtrack was goosebump inducing. Thats what I am a gamer for.
If it was not mentioned to prevent spoilers, that's understandable, but the ending of the courtroom escape shoot-out being what it was is why the level is so heartbreaking.
MW2's (Original) mission were you need to ice climb, then heartbeat sensor/ stealth and then battle though enemies with the snow mobile is an iconic mission for me!
The mission in saint's row the third in which you take control of the penthouse while power from Kanye West is blasting in the background the whole time will always be one that sticks in my mind
That Wolfesnstein level..! My god. Remember playing it over and over, getting ticked until realized it wasn’t just me. Tons of people found it difficult
Disappointed to this day that we only got to play as Venom once while being voiced by such a bad ass actor. Yet we got multiple moments to play as MJ and that one deaf chick having her own side mission. I remember seeing people cope about it claiming it felt more special that he was playable once as if we haven't gotten to play venom in other games Ultimate Spiderman on the Ps2 being one of the best.
“Straw Meet Camel” from Spider-Man (2018) is still one of the very best levels in the entire game. Granted, the level design was not fantastic in the game, but the escalation of conflict through the Fisk construction site, all the way up to the helicopter on the roof, and immediately following it up with one of the most insane QTEs, AND a ridiculous helicopter chase (that also ends in an utterly badass QTE) is one of the most adrenaline pumping levels ever, and I smiled ear to ear through every second of it. I’ve played it a hundred times, and watched it as a gameplay trailer even more times. Never ceases to amaze me.

Silver in Pokemon Silver & climbing the tower to meet Raquaza. In DMC that one level inside a monster entrails is the whole level. FF16 vs the Titan. Blighttown in Dark Souls very good & creepy level for me. RDR2 climbing the mountain in the end was iconic. Halo's first flood level. so many too remember
@@Jackrazorus it is part of the level. After your horse gets shot you are given a choice. Accompany John to safety or go back, gun down everyone you can on your way to confront Micah, tell him he's weak and stick a knife in his eye. This was a great list and a great concept for a video! I've only played half of these, but the others look awesome. Nevertheless, I wanted to throw a level into the mix that at least deserves an honorable mention. I'm not surprised it's not here because it's pretty old (although, so is Dishonored 1), but it's from the first Crysis. Mission 5: "Onslaught." That level is amazing and IYKYK.
I just did NG+ Ghost of Tsushima on PS5. The Yarikawa mission was absolutely EPIC. Even though I already had ghost stance atp, it still was just as great to do it within the mission. That shot of the gang going up to the Braithwaites mansion is ingrained into my brain as well. The island section is pretty tough in it's own right in RE4 remake. But I had a blast once Mike showed up
Mass Effect 2 Suicide assault on the Collector Base. Far Cry Blood Dragon, final mission, Dico Inferno mission in Bullet Storm and Far Cry 5, first escape from a collapsing ruin in Tomb Raider 2013, and despite the game being Trash, the Shark and Deborah boss fights in Resident Evil 6 we're cinematicly amazing.
Pripyat mission from first Modern Warfare and Ocean House Hotel from V:TM Bloodlines. Many, maaaaany games later I still remember those two like it was yesterday.
The Fort Frolic level of BioShock has always stuck with me over the years. Also when you become a little sister in Bio2, mostly just for the novelty of it.
The moment I read the title and the first thing that came to mind is the Ashtray Maze from control. It is undoubtedly the most original, epic and mesmerising gameplay moment there is
I know gaming has tons of amazing moments, but I can't help but always think back to the final level of MW3. Jumping out of the van with Yuri rocknig Juggernaut suits never gets old
GOT is such an awesome game! Absolutely loved it. I was super sad when it ended. Like I knew I wasn’t going to be able to play a game like that for a very long time in terms of quality 😫
The Clockwork Mansion rightfully gets plenty of love but the automatons, the Clockwork Soldiers, are super underappreciated as enemies. I love that their "voice" is recorded notes by Jindosh.
12:31 If you look up above the initial lever that transforms the mansion, you can shatter the glass above and teleport up there. This allows you to bypass all of the traps and get to your target completely unnoticed if you are careful. I believe there’s even an achievement for that
The first time you go Super Sonic in Sonic Frontiers. Really, _every_ time this happens, but the first time it really blindsides you. After that, you look forward to the badassery.
The Ashtray Maze from Control and (Don't Fear) The Reaper from Cyberpunk 2077 are two of my favourite missions from any video game. Both are incredible.
GOW original: opening level. The ship with the Kraken. Golden Sun: Sol Sanctum established the great puzzles and phenomenal soundtrack. Skyrim: Blackreach. Exploring through random ruins and caves to suddenly drop into a giant underground fortress complete with its own underground dragon.
It isn't a "level" per-se, but Metroid Prime 2's Sanctuary Fortress is my favorite zone or area in the entire Metroid series! Best tech aesthetic, best boss fights in the game in Dark Samus 2 and Quadraxis, fun platforming, grapple swinging, morph ball puzzles, even the Screw Attack in its 3D Metroid debut! Such a great area, not without fault, but so good it outweighs any complaint I'll ever have. Badass music too!
I don't know, anything to do with the Buzzards in Mad Max. The first time you go to Underdune for Christmas light, that buried church for food, or back to Underdune for Glory. Also the Bank, Hokkaido, and the Bath House in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. The whole game is good, but those were some of my favorite missions. House of Cards and Dance with the Devil from Blood Money were good, but The Lee Hong Assassination and Seafood Massacre contracts were also great in Contracts. God of War 2 and 3s intros were wild. Not to mention Kronos' boss fight. Then there were the Valkyries and especially their Queen in 2018. Fort Frolic in Rapture. Eh, the whole game of Bioshock has more then a few moments of: "Oh, snap. Not adding Control's Ashtray Maze to the list is a crime.
Some more unforgettable levels ( in my opinion)
OKB ZERO - MGS 5 ( I think mission 29)
Stowaway - uncharted 3
The raft mission revealing sinister 6 - marvel Spiderman
Ace chemicals section - batman Arkham knight ( a tutorial like mini level that demos the entire game)
Sinking cruise ship - uncharted 3
Train level - uncharted 2
The island survival level - breath of the wild
Mr freeze boss - Arkham city
Kronos - god of war 3
The final heist - gta 5
I like you apply the adjective "gross" to "wall meat"... as if "wall meat" isn't already gross. "gross wall meat" must be even worse.
