The area that you live in is beautiful and so open. Question: Does the distance from clutch to rear wheel have any consequence? Questions... the ratio of teeth on front sprocket to teeth on rear sprocket is simple enough, but what is the generally preferred ratio for overall good performance? And, how is the rear tire diameter factored in? I'm building a minibike with a stage 2 or 3 Predator 212, governor delete, billet parts as required, and a genuine 40 series Comet torque converter setup. It's the larger of the two driven units (Magnum driver and 44D driven) and I have not yet chosen my ratios for the chain going from a driven jackshaft on the TC driven unit to the rear wheel. The rear tire is 18 inches in diameter. As for proposed usage, I'm hoping for snappy and quick to get going, fairly quick all-out (50+), asphalt and dirt roads, gentle and moderately steep hills and trails. If someone experienced could advise on jackshaft and rear sprocket ratio just to get me in the ballpark, I would be very grateful. I would also like to know which chain size I should be using. In order to get the race clutch to work properly you should be idling right below 4000 RPM so as soon as you touch the throttle you’re already in the higher RPM you just takeoff, I have a clutch that engages at 3500 I keep my idol at 2900 and that’s not good I should really keep mine around 3200 it’s just a street bike so I don’t like doing that.
