A first visit to lake lothing - trying for a bass. Sea fishing in Suffolk

- Well as the north winds had picked up again, and it was lumpy on the beach, with a chance of rain, I had a look on google maps to pick a place to fish for a few hours. I had to go to Lowestoft to pick up my life jackets, new flares and first aid kit from the Marine safety centre, so looked around that area. I found lake lothing. Ive never fished it before, but I could reverse up to the edge in my van, and fish out of the back doors. Perfect in the wind and rain. Also, I had heard of a bass or two coming out of the river that way, so it had to be worth a try. After being there for an hour, another angler set up next to me, and we had a good chin wag on and off, turns out he was also an engineer, and a nice bloke, so that was a bonus..
Don't apologise for blanking mate, it happens to all of us although some won't admit it, it proves your vids are real. That's my ideal fishing spot straight out the back of the van, I wasn't fishing when it started hailing here but I knew about it on my bald bonce, good to see you trying different places out of the wind, that messes me up, take care, Norfolk Ray

Nice to get out even if you blank, always nice to have a mardle make the day go quicker.
Yeah, tried a new venue, had a good yarn, plenty of worse things to do on a wet and windy afternoon
A bad days fishing is still better than a good day’s work. I went out on my boat Wednesday night. Couldn’t believe how cold it turned out at night. Water temperature was only 9.8c. Well below where it normally is this time of year. Worst trip I’ve Ive had.
Sure is. Water at Great Yarmouth is slightly up on last year, only by a degree

When are you able to get back in the boat beany ?……. Is the old man getting any bass or codling out there yet
Wont be long now, just need to do a couple of jobs on the boat. He hasnt fished for either yet, but I suspect there is a few early bass, and the amount of codling now isnt even worth talking about

It’s the first time I’ve been up there, but I was told there gets plenty of mullet up there in the summer

There nothing wrong with the odd blank, just dnt make a habit of it ,or u have arms like popeye and be as blind as a bat😅😂.
