Flood Washed SO MANY BIG FISH Into a Farmers Field! RESCUE Time!

- Well the title tells it how it is. After the winter flooding I discovered a farmers field full of big fish stranded that need rescuing before the water dries up! The water levels had already dropped about a foot before filming, so I knew it was only a matter of time before these stranded fish end up in real danger! I hit this over grown puddle over a few days trying to catch as many of these big fish as I could to transfer them to the river. See how I got on!

"I might come back with a net" Yeah, yeah, you know you're gonna do it lad. I'll be here waiting, with all your other sub's. 'Get in!'
Hi Chris this is what i like most, a genuine good fisherman who will go out of his way to help fish, please show us the end of this rescue, and any more that happen if and when, a big big thankyou for this. Haydn.
what a legend, fantastic advert for anglers caring for fish!
Most skilled angler on YT by a country mile. Excellent to put them back in the river.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
He really is. He knows his target fish so well and his fish care is second to none.
A top bloke.
wouldn’t go that far mate
pretty bold statement. disagree
He's good thats why we watch but best on UA-cam?? I'm sure Tom dove and daryll peck will have something to say about that AMONG OTHERS!!! Lol
A true fisherman you are. Not only towards the fish. But to the natural environment around.
Fantastic job Chris rescuing those fish 👏👏👏👏
You're a good man, Chris, and a damned good fisherman!!! 😇
I live in Australia. I have a friend whose a farmer. Farmers here always build there houses on high ground. The farmer had a goldfish pond in his garden, on some ground lower than the house was his dam. In 1973 we had torrential rain that came up to the houses doorstep. When the rain stopped and the water subsided, his goldfish had gone. 2 years later you could see huge goldfish in the dam, some up to a kilogram.
That drone footage is incredible! 🔥 Chris to the rescue! 👏
Quality. I remember doing similar with trout when I was about 14yrs old out of a smaller puddle. All of them went back in the river after a fortnight of commitment lol. That was only 34yrs ago 😮😢! Please show us the rest of the rescue!! That ghosty has to go back in surely! Fingers crossed 🤞.
Top bloke - thats what fishings all about. Nice one mate
You should get the EA to come and help you save those fish. Good job, some nice fish rescued.
Brilliant technicality to extend your river fishing season. For all intents and purposes you're fishing a stillwater.
Fantastic fish rescue. What an incredible event and result. Well Done Chris. Great Fish Rescue and Welfare . Top guy. 👍🏻
Such good work rescuing stranded fish once again Chris. It’s becoming a regular occurrence with the frequency of the storms we get.
The fish will have a field day when the corn atarts growing lol. Literally ha ha
he's only man can catch carp in a bleeding puddle 😂
Such a nice caring guy. A big thank you from the angling community.
Chris you need your own TV series mate you are a natural take care Gary on the Isle of wight
Carp fishing in a puddle, that's fishing commercials for you.
Hi Chris, I now live in Brazil and used to fish for all sorts. Thanks for rescuing the fish.
cant wait to see some of those carp crusing when the river becomes somewhat clear walked past this puddle many times but thought nothing of it. great vid as usual Chris 👊
Well done Chris. Make sure operation fish rescue continues. 👍🙂
this by far the best fishing channel on UA-cam,,,,its like when the Late John Wilson first started on itv back in the 80s.... love it love it....real fishing
He's even got the Wilson laugh on this video !
Ginger Great vid once again. you seem to bring many a smile to the people of the world, thanks a million.
Excellent and well done to you mate for transferring the fish from the field to the river without your help those fish would certainly have died when the pond receded and dried up as the weather grew warmer and drier with the onset of late spring/summer don't forget to keep those excellent videos of yours coming I really enjoy watching them and picking up new ideas
Thank you for doing a great job with getting them back in the river. Thankfully you saw them in the first place 🎣🍻
The Ginger Puddle Jumper strikes again! 😂
I'll bet he sneaks about the neighbourhood dropping the odd line over the fence into grandad's Koi pond from time to time too ! ;-)
Great stuff as always, well done 👍
Brilliant Session again Chris. Some real nice ones there. You can spend up to a week on a designated Carp Pond, And never get as many as this. So this Is the nightmare we will be facing when the Water goes down. At the moment, It Is still like a giant lake (since November). There will be fish up to 30lb caught In a similar situation. Plus millions of fry as well. It Is not good for the Pike, as there Is no Brook for them to go to and spawn. So they will just have to spawn In the open water for now. Keep 'Em Coming.
Your a class fisherman and your programme is brilliant thank you
Good man. Great respect to you Chris.. so many fish lost to the floods this year. But thanks to you some will make it back to where they came from. Keep on doing what you can.
Their mouths suggest they've come from a commercial Stillwater somewhere upstream. Ideally, that's where they'd go back to, but moving fish from one "Stillwater" to another without a permit is illegal, whereas rescuing fish trapped after a flood, and returning them to the river is fine.
Looks like it. The whole setup is strange. VERY unlikely a small river like that could contain a head of carp of that size plus no fish you WOULD expect in the river (Chub, Barbel, Perch) visible in the pond at all. More to this than meets the eye.
Looks like a proper lake to me or at least somewhere that floods exactly the same every year .
@@cliveb9771 Nah. I don't think there's anything dodgy going on. Native river fish are pretty good at staying in rivers when they flood, Carp by contrast are heavily stocked in commercials and those commercials flood. Carp do range out over flooded fields (there are a couple of good documentaries about them doing exactly this in Japan) and they get stuck.
I reckon these carp have been placed in that 'pond' for someone to fish for. I'd guess it's been stocked for fishing. Just my guess don't care either way ha.
I don’t believe this at all
Excellent Chris that was so good what you done 👍 keep it up ,lovely fish too.
14:50 That was an insane run......do you mean you or the fish 😆
Both 😂
Wow,what a great watch .Brilliant job Chris 👌

It is a good thing you have done, saving them. Keep going back and save more, bring your girl friend and her pole.
Well done Chris awesome job.
My relatives used to own all the land around where you were fishing . I used to fish the stretch of River where the willows ended , used to get decent chub on luncheon meat ! . Them fields have always flooded , sometimes as far as the road .
You should be a film producer / TV presenter on mainstream television.
Well done. Give the Environment agency a call.

Your a legend it the game mate fair play for help the fish out mate brilliant effort 👍🙏🙌
If i was that farmer i'd did a huge pond out of that field and make a fishery 😃🚜
I very much doubt he do that as he's been blighted with fly tippers for a number of years. He's ended up restricting the access and i don't blame him tbh
@@Hallmartin1 Damn that sucks to hear , people really are just scumbaggery to fly tip on others land.
Mate I love your videos...that was awesome 👌 you know your be back for that ghostie 😂
Well done for saving those fish. You must go back to save the others.

Hi Chris - great to see you giving these fish another chance at life! You should have invited the Snagged Bros because I think even they would have managed to set the hook!

Awesome video mate good on you saving those Carp would love seeing a part 2 especially going for the Ghostie/Koi
After the big 2013 flood in Alberta I was fishing the Sheep River west of Okotoks. I found several isolated pools filled with trout minnows. I forgot about fishing and commenced Operation Trout Rescue with my small net. I transfered countless to the main stream.
Interestingly, one evening when I went fishing after work that same year after the great flood, I was walking past a tiny creek on my way to the river where everyone else was fishing when I caught sight of the flash of a huge trout in the creek. It must have been trapped here when the flood receded. No need to go any further. I caught my biggest trout in that creek that evening and several others.
First time I’ve seen this guys catch a carp haha, it amazes me how well he can keep the fish calm, maybe they can sense his good soul
Wow, top job geezer 💯🌟👌
Chris. You could catch without water crazy man. How the hell can you catch carp in a field. You are one dedicated fisherman big time.
Amazing Bro!!!! Greating from Italy💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
