By the time they put the fire out, 4 trucks were destroyed, and I was asked to stay to give a statement. I parked a safe distance away, but it struck me at the irony. Hundreds of people were fascinated by a fire in a building, yet no one was there when trucks were on fire, with explosions going off. One truck with a couple people showed up but after being yelled at by a firefighter for repeatedly running over their hose to get a better viewpoint, they left. So other than the emergency crews, I was the only one who witnessed it, and it was much more interesting than burning hay.

The fact that he walked away and then went back is probably what saved him from being done for drink driving. That little bit of time to give his body to clear that little bit more alcohol and it got him below the limit.
At the end of the day, if people aren't going to slow down near accidents, then they have no right to complain about the road being closed. Also. If you have a accident while driving in the rain, you should be forced by law to retake your test as its clear you have more to learn.

36:58 - ffs how is it that there are NO LIGHTS WHATSOEVER on this apparently major highway??????? No wonder the initial accidents are often so problematic in causing secondary collisions 😨🙄
In Canada there are hundreds of thousands of miles of what would be equivalent to British A and M roads with no lighting. It is normal. In Ontario there is one major dual carriageway that runs from the border with the Province of Quebec at Cornwall 500 miles to the border with the US in Windsor. At a minimum there are 2 traffic lanes each way. Through the city of Toronto that can stretch to 16 live lanes in 4 carriageways. Except at interchanges and through some of the cities, the road is completely without illumination. Not even the overhead signs are lit. We manage just fine.
@@michaeltutty1540 Very true. You don't really need highway lighting unless you expect very high traffic volumes at night, and there are sufficient reflectors along the length where lights aren't needed.
In australia on a lot of the newer roads we have overhead speed signs that can be adjusted for the conditions maybe they should look at something similar to prevent some of these accidents.
That's what the matrix signs are for - can display temporary speed limits or that particular lanes are closed, either due to accidents or because of road works
We have them here already. They use them to show drivers when lanes are closed and when the speed limit is reduced. The thing is that nobody seems to pay attention. I’ve seen it where I move out of a lane with a huge ❌ and yet so many others continue in it before swerving when they come across a broken down car or something.
HGV Drivers in the past worked with each other, helped and in most cases followed the rules of the road. I bet they didn't measure the actual height of the BRIDGE after the road has been resurfaced ??? times ! PLUS thats the vehicles unladen height so will be quite a bit lower than that height in the cab !
I don't think such a marker as shown (just a sticker) should be legal in an articulated lorry. I have one in my cab (class 2, so rigid) and I can change the cards in it to change the displayed height. But in an Artic you actually should be able to change the displayed height and it should be within view of the driver. This due to some trailers being taller than others or loads on flatbeds being variable heights. Trailers usually have a height based on a set fifth wheel height printed on their headboard so the driver can check whilst coupling, but it's not hard to carry a tape measure to actually measure it once it's all coupled up. Hell, put one in the cab and leave it there so it's never forgotten.

Why would the A1 be diverted to a road with a relatively low bridge? If that bridge has been hit often enough like the network rail bloke says it has, they maybe need warnings ahead of the bridge. Other countries have height cameras ahead of low bridges to flash up a warning they’re over height well ahead of the bridge and have places to turn around. Since this one’s hit often - maybe they need to think about adding something to stop it happening.. Also, about closing lanes at night - here’s a better idea instead of cones: traffic flares.
Shouldn’t the speed limit be reduced to fifty miles an hour ? Been living there for 15years and when there is accident on road/obstacle etc NO ONE is using HAZARD lights to warn others to slow down!!! When I was travelling from UK to Poland on many occasions I was witnessing accidents and the best drivers has to be Germans! Putting hazards on was (ashamedly) something I never did until we drove to Spain from the U.K. We saw lots of people doing it whenever the traffic slowed down and it’s something I have done ever since. I found where it was coming from, which was a county truck in a locked compound, so I called 911.

I disagree. We use both in the UK for different situations. 500 metres is more likely yo be used than 500 yards (or 550 yards) half a kilometre rather than a 1/3 of a mile. I refer to my heigh in ft and inch’s but I measure is cm and then covert it. Imperial is approximate and metric is specific

I’m surprised I am saying this as I drive 70 mph plus’s back in the seventies the motorway speed limit was reduced to 50mph to save fuel and 99% of people stuck to it. It saved so many lives

As far as UK has one of the best H&S laws, using hi viz jackets at work ,separate ways for flts and pedestrians etc, it has one of the worst drivers when it comes to hazards on the roads. Been living there for 15years and when there is accident on road/obstacle etc NO ONE is using HAZARD lights to warn others to slow down!!! When I was travelling from UK to Poland on many occasions I was witnessing accidents and the best drivers has to be Germans! It should be taught in car driving school in my opinion,so many people think, they are immortal in their cars!
Putting hazards on was (ashamedly) something I never did until we drove to Spain from the U.K. We saw lots of people doing it whenever the traffic slowed down and it’s something I have done ever since. I recon it'd cost around a £1500 and that's including the government over spending on pretty much ducking EVERYTHING! 😡 (Thank duck they've stop wasted OUR tax payers money on that STUPID HS2 🤷🏻♂️😪🤦🏻♂️
If the manufacturer is taking the piss n saying "it's going to be in the 1000 once it's finished and shipped out the door" then they can job on! 🤨
You MUST have fully comp insurance if a car is under finance, that is part and parcel of the finance agreement.
The driver of the white volvo should be done also, if you look at the angle of his trailer, he said he was in the right hand lane then moved to the left lane and then came to a stop,
He took the other lorries stopping space giving the driver no time to react.
What is a "huge fatality"?
we don't call them cops in the uk. note to narrator
low bridges. the ONLY time those few extra inches are a bad thing.
I hope you’re being monetized because the commercials are coming as fast as the traffic in the show‼️🤯🥴
Unfortunately UA-cam has started putting adverts on videos with or without monetization... They'll do anything for the extra cash 🙄
@@LilyGrace95In 2023 I don't understand why anybody does not have an adblocker! My browser comes with a good one, enabled by default too so there isn't even any effort required. For the smaller channels that I appreciate and genuinely want to help, there are other ways.
I have UA-cam Premium because I had had enough of the ads about 18 months ago. I opted for this over an ad blocker because I watch a lot of smaller channels and want them to get some revenue... I just don't want ads.
So the 19 yr old blew 34, had he blown 35 would he still pass? The boundary of legal limit doesn't seem well defined but my take is 35 would be a pass, what do others think.
35 is a fail then you would be taken to the station as 35 is borderline, which makes no sense as by the time it was done at the station it would be under 35 so a pass, stupid waste of time but thats the way it is.
Drink driving especially with what has become the norm nowDrugs too should be a Zero tolerance crime, ANY drink/ drug scum bag caught driving is in charge of a KILLING machine. automatic BANN.
@@Diamondmine212 I don't believe you can realistically be that dogmatic about a zero limit, many medicines and product like mouth wash contain small amounts of ethanol, different forms (beer, spirits, etc) of alcohol metabolize at different rates and individual metabolic rates vary widely. Not totally sure, it was several years ago, but I recall reading that alcohol can also be a byproduct of human metabolism and think this was associated with either a disease or some genetic conditions so it's possible some people will never quite blow zero. Whether 35 is the right number as a measure of impairment is a totally different question.
@@johndilloway9762 You have to draw the line somewhere and to make roadside equipment of evidentiary quality would be too expensive. There is also the, admittedly small, possibility that they would blow higher at the station, they could be passing 35 on their way to 70 depending on what they drank, how much, when, and their individual metabolism. The road side unit could also be under-reading. In some ways a functional test (like the US field sobriety tests) would be a better measure in that it is neutral to the cause of impairment but the US model is far to subjective and open to abuse for my liking.

I'm going to tow a trailer with a top heavy 4x4 with raised suspension. what could possibly go wrong? Also having had a Police Officer say how dangerous being on the road can be, at 30min we have another, stood next to a live lane of traffic dressed head to toe in black, maybe not the best idea.
Anyone moaning about lorry drivers should remember if it wasn't for lorry drivers delivering 24/7 you wouldn't be able to have the goods in shops. Factory's would be able to run. Cars wouldn't be in showroom's and you're homes wouldn't exist
All those lads there and they couldn’t figure out they could push the burger van to the shoulder…
Don't tell me 3" isn't significant.
In the right circumstances, UK police need to consider the PIT manoeuvre. TPAK is very limited and less effect.
cops were no happy when he blew a 34 on the meter
They knew about the high potential of an accident on the bend, but instead of driving over and using their lights to slow traffic, they just killed around bullshitting to the camera's. calling themselves professionals ----amatuers costing a life
lorry. not truck
