Absolute respect to the two police in the first video, with the repeat drink driver.
    Professional, courteous, but compassionate.
A major change from too many others trying to come across as professional hard men.
If only the police had more like them.

Very glad Mr Towu and his daughter survived that awful crash. Did he say at 36:26 that a warning light came on so he stopped where he was in the motorway lane and put his hazards on?? Warning lights do not mean you have to stop immediately, even if it was the oil light. Unless his engine had seized maybe he could have moved to the hard shoulder.

Although drunk driving is unacceptable and anyone that drink drives as a disgrace, of course the first driver did very wrong by drunk driving, but you can tell he’s mentally unstable or going through some kind of trauma. The breakdown and the “I’m so sorry” and the “please tell me I’ve not injured anybody”explains it all. It seems like he is drinking to distract himself from some kind of trauma or sadness. Which truly is heartbreaking to see. As horrible it is to drink drive, I can’t help but think, what’s going on with that man? May he get the help and support he needs so he may never put anyone in danger again

In 40 years of driving I've experienced break downs and punctures on the motorway and have always managed to either pull onto the hard shoulder, safety zone or at least pull as far off the lane as I could. As soon as you sense your car has a problem you get into lane 1 ready to pull off, you don't carry on driving in lane 2 waiting for the car to breakdown.

I only saw it with just enough time to go into the other lane, fortunately again quiet time of day but that was really scary I was doing 70, I suspect the reversing car was doing about half that

If you kill or maim whilst driving drunk, drugged or distracted by texting or otherwise manipulating a phone or similar; then aside of any custodial and financial penalties, you should never be allowed to drive again in this country. Only when the lifetime loss of the perpetrator's driving licence is introduced in legislation and applied by the courts will hard-core offenders and those indifferent to the right to life of other people consider their selfish behaviour because of its effects and affects upon themselves.

If you agree with the foregoing paragraph, please copy and paste and share as you see fit, perhaps including your MP. Let's encourage the people we know who do this to think again and the politicians to properly change the law.
A driving licence is a privilege to permit the holder get around and / or earn a living - it is not permission to selfishly kill or maim other innocent people with impunity.

Drink drivers should be forced to watch all the videos of incidents where there is loss of life of those that hadn't been drinking. Hundreds out there of families losing their children or children losing their parents. Putting everyone else at risk by operating a high speed vehicle whilst under the influence is unforgivable.

Partially blame the government. When the Smart motorways were designed/specified, it was recommended that the pullovers should be every 500m. To save money, I think we went for every 1km...

Hey Siobhan 👋 As a British person myself, I can confirm that 'dinner time' means dinner or the final meal of the day. in the North of England, people sometimes call their lunch 'dinner time' and their dinner 'tea time', but everyone else calls it lunch and dinner. Hope that helps!

@@OMG_stories Yes, thanks for that. It does help a little, but from what you said, people could still call lunch dinner. All good. I've been to England 4 times and love it. We don't have a lot of differences, but I guess some expressions will have to remain on the list. Us Aussies have our quirks too lol.

Toll booths? What backwater country is that? We've had electronic tags for decades - you just drive, the tag is detected on the motorway lane, you don't even slow down. Auto top-up from your bank account or credit card. Online statement, which is also your receipt. And the same tag works on all the motorways across the country (as far as I know) (Australia).

in 2020 whilst in the town of four marks, hampshire the police see me removing a 4-5 foot object from the main road in front of my vehicle as i go back to my vehicle(thats parked in the road with its hazard lights on)there's as i just mentioned a police car parked directly behind me from that point on i knew i was'nt going to be treated fairly i'm then followed for another 2 miles or so by this time i was half way through the village of chawton before the blue lights are activated and i'm stopped though what for is beyond me as i had'nt committed any offence i'm then practically accused of wrong-doing i was also told by an officer that by law they could'nt have stopped me sooner.i'm then told i'm going to be breathalysed having brought the breathalyser over to me the officer tells me that the device is faulty and does'nt work and that another breathalyser will have to be brought out to the scene by this point my patience is beginning to fray a few minutes later a police vehicle with a new device arrives at the scene and i'm breathalysed when i had'nt been drinking it was negative i then get back in my vehicle an leave the scene in a fury making my feelings known to the three officers present even now 5 years after it happened i'd like to know how it was------- ever lawful for the police to do this to me-----------because i' don't see how....apparently from a legal postion i've discovered that after being told by the police officer that the breathalyser was faulty/did'nt work i would not have been committing any offence----by leaving the scene either by walking away or getting back in my vehicle and driving off----so it appears that the law was on my side............

I know this is old... but if that police woman said she has run out of patience for those who didn't have their seat belt on... means it time she gave up being a cop.
A cop is not the judge jury and executioner... they are out there to help people in time of need, and that includes people who made bad and silly mistakes.

Guess you’ve never been to fatalities time and time again where the victim was not wearing a seat belt. Also police are not social workers, they are there to uphold the law. So telling people to wear seatbelts and fining them if not, that’s their job.
